First record of the beetle family Biphyllidae (Coleoptera) in Korea

The Biphyllidae including four species, Biphyllus lewisi (Reitter), B. marmoratus (Reitter), B. rufopictus (Wollaston) and B. throscoides (Wollaston), are discovered for the first time in Korea. A key, habitus photographs and illustrations of diagnostic characters of the species are presented.     

Taxonomy of the Genus Zeadolopus Broun (Coleoptera: Leiodidae: Leiodinae) in Korea

A taxonomic study of the genus Zeadolopus Broun in Korea is presented. Two species, Zeadolopus chaosicus Daffner and Z. japonica (Champion), are recognized and the latter is recorded for the first time in Korea. A key, diagnoses, and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.     

A revision of the Chinese Catops Paykull 1798 of the Catops fuscus species group (Coleoptera: Leiodidae: Cholevinae)

Five species of the Catops fuscus species group are reported from China. Three species are newly described: C. hlisnikovskyi n. sp. from the Beijing municipality and Jiangsu province, C. schuelkei n. sp. from Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, and C. smetanai n. sp. from Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Female of C. sasajii Nishikawa 2007 is described and the species is reported from Hubei, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces for the first time. Catops nigricans (Spence 1813) is reported for the first time from China (Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). Important morphological characters are illustrated and the distribution of all species in China is mapped. Preliminar phylogenetic analysis separates (C. hlisnikovskyi n. sp.+C. fuscus fuscus Panzer 1794) as a sister clade to C. nigricans+(C. sasajii+(C. schuelkei n. sp.+C. smetanai n. sp.)), with C. paramericanus Peck & Cook 2002 as outgroup.     

First record of Vanhorniidae (Hymenoptera: Proctotrupoidea) from Korea

The family Vanhorniidae Crawford, 1909 was recorded for the first time in Korea. As a result of a taxonomic study of the Korean Vanhorniidae, we report on one species, Vanhornia eucnemidarum Crawford, 1909. A diagnosis and photographs of diagnostic characteristics are provided.     

A second species of the genus Sciaphyes (Coleoptera: Leiodidae: Cholevinae: Sciaphyini) from Japan

A second species of the genus Sciaphyes Jeannel is reported from Japan. The new species, S. kawaharai sp. n., can be easily distinguished from other Japanese Cholevine by the lack of eyes and hind wings. S. kawaharai sp. n. was collected in the nests of lesser white-toothed Shrew, Crocidura suaveolens (Pallas 1811) (Insectivora: Soricidae), therefore its habitat is pholeophile.     

First record of the family Embolemidae (Hymenoptera: Chrysidoidea) from Korea

The family Embolemidae Westwood, 1833 is recorded for the first time in Korea, based on a species Embolemus ruddii Westwood. A diagnosis of this species complemented by digital images are provided.     

First record of the family Heloridae (Hymenoptera: Proctotrupoidea) from Korea

As part of an ongoing study of the superfamily Proctotrupoidea, the family Heloridae Förster is recorded for the first time from Korea, based on the two species, Helorus anomalipes (Panzer) and H. ruficornis Förster. A species key to Korean Heloridae, diagnosis and digital images are provided.     

A new record of Tanysphyrus (Tanysphyroides) major Roelofs (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) from Korea

The species Tanysphyrus (Tanysphyroides) major Roelofs is recorded for the first time from Korea. This paper reports the diagnostic characters, and some remarks on its systematics and notes on its biology are also provided.     

Taxonomy of genus Myrmecopora Saulcy in Korea (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae)

A taxonomic study of Korean Myrmecopora Saulcy is presented. Myrmecopora (Lamproxenusa) rufescens (Sharp) previously reported by Ahn was an incorrect identification of M. (L.) reticulata Assing. Diagnoses, habitus photographs and line drawings of diagnostic characters are provided.
