In this study, hydrothermally prepared magnetic α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were dispersed in chitosan (CH) solution to fabricate nanocomposite film. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicated that the α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were pure α-Fe2O3 with rhombohedral structures, and the fabrication of CH did not result in a phase change. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) results showed that the hexagonal and spherical monodispersed α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were encapsulated into the spherical dumb shaped CH-α-Fe2O3 nanocomposite film with a mean diameter of ~87 and ~110 nm respectively. The α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles and CH-α-Fe2O3 nanocomposite film were also characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Magnetic measurements revealed that the saturated magnetization (Ms) and remanent magnetization (Mr) of the pure α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles reached 0.573 emu/g and 0.100 emu/g respectively and the nanoparticles showed the characteristics of weak ferromagnetic before and after coating with CH.  相似文献

This work aims at preparation and characterization of novel synthesized nanocomposites based on polystyrene (Psty) packaging material waste. Moreover, the antimicrobial and antioxidant properties were examined and evaluated. The Psty was grafted with two different monomers such as acrylic and maleic acids (AAc and MAc, respectively) in presence of montmorillonite (MMT) using potassium persulfate as initiator under nitrogen atmosphere. The prepared nanocomposites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission (TEM) and scanning electron microscopes (SEM). Moreover, the antimicrobial activity was evaluated using agar disc diffusion method against gram negative bacteria such as: Klebsiella pneumonia, and Escherichia coli and gram positive bacterium (Sarcina lutea); in addition to the yeast fungus (Candida albicans). Furthermore, the radical scavenging ability of the prepared nanocomposites has been examined using the DPPH assay.  相似文献

The present investigation deals with facile polyol mediated synthesis and characterization of ZnO nanoparticles and their antimicrobial activities against pathogenic microorganisms. The synthesis process was carried out by refluxing zinc acetate precursor in diethylene glycol(DEG) and triethylene glycol(TEG) in the presence and in the absence of sodium acetate for 2 h and 3 h. All synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV visible spectroscopy (UV), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) technique. All nanoparticles showed different degree of antibacterial and antibiofilm activity against Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (NCIM 2654)and Gram-negative Proteus vulgaris (NCIM 2613). The antibacterial and antibiofilm activity was inversely proportional to the size of the synthesized ZnO nanoparticles. Among all prepared particles, ZnO nanoparticles with least size (~ 15 nm) prepared by refluxing zinc acetate dihydrate in diethylene glycol for 3 h exhibited remarkable antibacterial and antibiofilm activity which may serve as potential alternatives in biomedical application.  相似文献

Long-persistent phosphorescent smart paints have the ability to continue glowing in the dark for a prolonged time period to function as energy-saving products. Herein, new epoxy/silica nanocomposite paints were prepared with different concentrations of lanthanide-doped aluminate nanoparticles (LAN; SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+). The LAN pigment was firstly coated with silicon dioxide (SiO2) utilizing the heterogeneous precipitation technique to provide LAN-encapsulated between SiO2 nanoparticles (LAN@SiO2). The epoxy/silica/lanthanide-doped aluminate nanoparticles (ESLAN) nanocomposite paints were coated on steel. The prepared ESLAN paints were studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The transparency and coloration properties of the nanocomposite coated films were explored by CIE Lab parameters and photoluminescence spectra. The ultraviolet-induced luminescence properties of the transparent coated films demonstrated greenish phosphorescence at 518 nm upon excitation at 368 nm. Both hardness and hydrophobic activities were investigated. The anticorrosion activity of the nanocomposite films coated onto mild steel substrates immersed in aqueous sodium chloride (NaCl(aq)) (3.5%) was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The silica-containing coatings were monitored to exhibit anticorrosion properties. Additionally, the nanocomposite films with LAN@SiO2 (25%) exhibited the optimized long-lasting luminescence properties in the dark for 90 min. The nanocomposite films showed highly reversible and durable long-lived phosphorescence.  相似文献

We report on the thiol-ene chemistry guided preparation of novel thiolated polymeric nanocomposite films of abundant anionic carboxylic groups for electrostatic enrichment and sensitive electroanalysis of cationic dopamine (DA) in neutral solution. Briefly, the thiol-ene nucleophilic reaction of a carboxylated thiol with oxidized polypyrrole (PPy), which was electrosynthesized on an Au electrode in the presence of solution-dispersed acidified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), produced an a PPy-thiol-MWCNTs/Au electrode, and the PPy can be electrochemically overoxidized (OPPy) to form an OPPy-thiol-MWCNTs/Au electrode. The carboxylic groups of the polymeric nanocomposite film originate from the acidified MWCNTs, PPy-tethered carboxylated thiol, and OPPy. The carboxylated thiols examined are mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) and thioglycolic acid, with β-mercaptoethanol as a control. Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy were used for film characterization and process monitoring. Under the optimized condition, the differential pulse voltammetry peak current of DA oxidation at OPPy-MSA-MWCNTs/Au electrode is linear with DA concentration from 1.00×10(-9) to 2.87×10(-6) mol L(-1), with a limit of detection of 0.4 nmol L(-1), good anti-interferent ability and stability.  相似文献

Novel chitosan/ZnO nanoparticle (CS/nano-ZnO) composite membranes were prepared via the method of sol-cast transformation and studied by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDX). The characterization revealed that ZnO nanoparticles dispersed homogeneously within the chitosan matrix. The mechanical and antibacterial properties of the product were investigated. The results showed that the ZnO content had an effect on the mechanical properties of CS/nano-ZnO composite membranes, and that the antibacterial activities of CS membranes for Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus were enhanced by the incorporation of ZnO. Further, CS/nano-ZnO composite membranes with 6-10 wt % ZnO exhibited high antibacterial activities.  相似文献

A biofunctional hybrid nanocomposite of carbon nanofiber (CNF) with water-soluble iron(III) meso-tetrakis(N-methylpyridinum-4-yl) porphyrin (FeTMPyP) was designed via non-covalent interaction for preparation of highly sensitive ethanol biosensor. The prepared nanocomposite showed good dispersion in water and was characterized with steady-state electronic absorption spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. The nanocomposite combined the good conductivity of CNF and the excellent catalytic activity of both CNF and FeTMPyP toward the reduction of dissolved oxygen, producing a method for amperometric detection of oxygen ranging from 6.5 nM to 6.4 microM at a low overpotential. The nanocomposite modified electrode was further used for assembly of alcohol oxidase to construct an amperometric biosensor for ethanol. The biosensor showed rapid and highly sensitive response to ethanol with a linear range from 2.0 microM to 112 microM. The immobilized alcohol oxidase also showed its direct electrochemistry. The biofunctional nanocomposite provides a new way to not only construct the highly sensitive biosensors but also mimic the catalytic activity of enzyme in the life process.  相似文献

A novel pH-sensitive and water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-cellulose acetate phthalate (CAP) composite-based biomaterial was prepared, in which the multi-scale web of copper (Cu)-grown carbon micro-nanofibers (Cu-ACF/CNFs) was in situ dispersed during a synthesis stage. PVA-CAP and Cu-nanoparticles (NPs) were used as an encapsulating agent and nano-antibiotics, respectively. The web of Cu-ACF/CNF was prepared by growing CNFs on the activated carbon microfiber (ACF) substrate by chemical vapor deposition using Cu NPs as the catalyst. The novel step of the synthesis included esterification of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) to produce a PVA gel to which the ball-milled Cu-ACF/CNF was blended at the incipience of the gel formation to produce the PVA-CAP-Cu-ACF/CNF metal-carbon-polymeric composite film. The in vitro dissolution tests revealed that the encapsulating polymeric composite was dispersible in water and its rate of dissolution was high at pH > 6.5. The antibacterial tests performed on the material demonstrated its effectiveness against both gram negative Escherichia coli and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. The Hixson-Crowell kinetic model described the dissolution profiles of the material. The method of preparation is novel, simple, and environmentally friendly. The prepared biomaterial may be used in several biomedical applications, including wound healing and the controlled release of drugs in the antibiotic delivery system.  相似文献

In the present study, gold nanoparticles (CRnp) has been prepared using aqueous extract of Cyperus rotundus root at room temperature, sunlight, sonication, microwave oven heating and hot air oven method. Effect of concentration variation was studied using microwave-assisted synthesis. Grayish pink colour gold nanoparticles were formed within 5 s in microwave-assisted synthesis. Preliminary phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, protein and phenolic groups. These metabolites may be the responsible for the formation of gold nanoparticles. Reduced graphene oxide (CRrGO) was prepared using refluxing method and nano composite (CRNC) was prepared using equal ratio (1:1) of CRnp and CRrGO under homogenization method. The prepared CRnp, CRrGO and CRNC were characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as UV–visible spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and FESEM. Thermal stability analysis of the CRrGO was carried out using TGA. FESEM results revealed the synthesized CRnp to be spherical in nature with average diameter 15 nm. CRrGO showed flake-like structures with few layers which was further confirmed by FESEM and Raman spectroscopy. The FESEM image of CRNC clearly portrays CRnp to be strongly bound to the surface of CRrGO. Anti-bacterial activity of the synthesized CRnp, CRrGO, CRNC and CRa synthesized nanoparticles to be active against gram negative and gram positive bacteria.  相似文献

Essential oils are known to possess antimicrobial and antioxidant activity while chitosan is a biocompatible polymer with antibacterial activity against a broad spectrum of bacteria. In this work, nanoparticles with both antioxidant and antibacterial properties were prepared by grafting eugenol and carvacrol (two components of essential oils) on chitosan nanoparticles. Aldehyde groups were first introduced in eugenol and carvacrol, and the grafting of these oils to chitosan nanoparticles was carried out via the Schiff base reaction. The surface concentration of the grafted essential oil components was determined by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The antioxidant activities of the carvacrol‐grafted chitosan nanoparticles (CHCA NPs) and the eugenol‐grafted chitosan nanoparticles (CHEU NPs) were assayed with diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Antibacterial assays were carried out with a representative gram‐negative bacterium, Escherichia coli (E. coli) and a gram‐positive bacterium, Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). The grafted eugenol and carvacrol conferred antioxidant activity to the chitosan nanoparticles, and the essential oil component‐grafted chitosan nanoparticles achieved an antibacterial activity equivalent to or better than that of the unmodified chitosan nanoparticles. Cytotoxicity assays using 3T3 mouse fibroblast showed that the cytotoxicity of CHEU NPs and CHCA NPs were significant lower than those of the pure essential oils. Biotechnol. We report a novel in-situ electrochemical synthesis approach for the formation of functionalized graphene-graphene oxide (fG-GO) nanocomposite on screen-printed electrodes (SPE). Electrochemically controlled nanocomposite film formation was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Raman spectroscopy. Further insight into the nanocomposite has been accomplished by the Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy. Configured as a highly responsive screen-printed immunosensor, the fG-GO nanocomposite on SPE exhibits electrical and chemical synergies of the nano-hybrid functional construct by combining good electronic properties of functionalized graphene (fG) and the facile chemical functionality of graphene oxide (GO) for compatible bio-interface development using specific anti-diuron antibody. The enhanced electrical properties of nanocomposite biofilm demonstrated a significant increase in electrochemical signal response in a competitive inhibition immunoassay format for diuron detection, promising its potential applicability for ultra-sensitive detection of range of target analytes.  相似文献

The biomineralization of pristine chitosan film without any prior surface treatment was evaluated by immersing the film in simulated body fluid (SBF) at 37 °C for 3 weeks. The film was prepared by solvent casting method using chitosan of known degree of deacetylation (DD). The formation of the hydroxyapatite (HA) phase on the film surface after immersion was studied periodically by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The electron micrographs showed the morphology of the deposited apatite as small globules appearing uniformly throughout the films surfaces. The Ca/P ratio of the apatite was found to increase with increase in immersion time and approaching towards the stoichiometric value of the HA phase. The mineralized chitosan film could be of promising support to hard tissue regeneration.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline ZnO and ZnO/PVP nanocomposite films have been prepared by the sol-gel dip-coating technique from zinc acetate precursor on silicon wafer and Pyrex glass substrates. The films were characterized using atomic force microscopy for morphology, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for chemical analysis. Thermally untreated and annealed films were studied in order to analyze the influence of temperature on the formation and properties of the films. The films have a uniform void-free surface and the grain size increases with the annealing temperature. The cell viability assays indicate that the growth rate of BPH cells incubated in the presence of ZnO was significantly reduced (35% of the control) compared to that of untreated controls, indicating antibacterial activity of ZnO as a result of the generation of hydrogen peroxide. The sensor characteristic of ZnO/PVP nanocomposite was also demonstrated by measuring the change in conductivity upon exposure to superoxide anion radical.  相似文献

Abstract

In the present study, cotton fabric nanocomposites with in situ generated copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) were prepared using Cassia alata leaf extract as reducing agent. The prepared cotton fabric nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscoy (SEM) techniques. The cotton fabric nanocomposites exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli bacteria. These nanocomposites retained the antibacterial activity even after 15 washes indicating the generation of permanent CuNPs in them. The antibacterial activity of the nanocomposites prepared even in sewerage water was also studied. The obtained results suggest that the cotton fabric nanocomposites with in situ generated CuNPs can be considered for medical and water treatment applications.  相似文献

Nanocomposite films were prepared by the addition of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) eventually surfactant modified (s-CNC) and silver (Ag) nanoparticles in the polylactic acid (PLA) matrix using melt extrusion followed by a film formation process. Multifunctional composite materials were investigated in terms of morphological, mechanical, thermal and antibacterial response. The nanocomposite films maintained the transparency properties of the PLA matrix. Thermal analysis showed increased values of crystallinity in the nanocomposites, more evident in the s-CNC based formulations that had the highest tensile Young modulus. The presence of surfactant favoured the dispersion of cellulose nanocrystals in the polymer matrix and the nucleation effect was remarkably enhanced. Moreover, an antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli cells was detected for ternary systems, suggesting that these novel nanocomposites may offer good perspectives for food packaging applications which require an antibacterial effect constant over time.  相似文献

Forgery and low-quality products pose a danger to society. Therefore, there are increasing demands for the production of easy-to-recognize and difficult-to-copy anticounterfeiting materials. Products with smart photochromic and fluorescence properties can change colour and emission spectra responding to a light source. In this context, we devised a straightforward preparation of a luminescent polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl cellulose (PVA/CMC) nanocomposite to function as a transparent labelling film. The lanthanide-doped aluminate (LdA) was prepared in the nanoparticle form to indicate diameters of 35–115 nm. Different ratios of the LdA were physically dispersed in the PVA/CMC nanocomposite label film to provide photochromic, ultraviolet protection, antimicrobial activity, and hydrophobic properties. Fluorescence peaks were detected at 365 and 519 nm to indicate a colour change to green. As a result of increasing the phosphor ratio, improved superhydrophobic activity was achieved as the contact angle was increased from 126.1° to 146.0° without affecting the film's original physical and mechanical properties. Both ultraviolet (UV) light protection and antibacterial activity were also investigated. The films showed a quick and reversible photochromic response without fatigue. The current strategy reported the development of a photochromic smart label that is transparent, cost effective, and flexible. As a result, numerous anticounterfeiting products can benefit from the current label for a better market. LdA-loaded PVA/CMC films demonstrated antibacterial activity between poor, good, very good, and outstanding as the percentage of LdA in the film matrix increased. The current film can be applied as a transparent photochromic security barcode for anticounterfeiting applications and smart packaging.  相似文献

A nanobiocomposite film consisted of polypyrrole (PPy), functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (cMWNTs), and glucose oxidase (GOx) were electrochemically synthesized by electrooxidation of 0.1M pyrrole in aqueous solution containing appropriate amounts of cMWNTs and GOx. Potentiostatic growth profiles indicate that the anionic cMWNTs is incorporated within the growing PPy-cMWNTs nanocomposite for maintaining its electrical neutrality. The morphology of the PPy-cMWNTs nanocomposite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The PPy-cMWNTs nanocomposite was deposited homogeneously onto glassy carbon electrode. The amperometric responses vary proportionately to the concentration of hydrogen peroxide at the PPy-cMWNTs nanocomposite modified electrode at an operating potential of 0.7V versus Ag/AgCl (3M). The results indicate that the electroanalytical PPy-cMWNTs-GOx nanobiocomposite film was highly sensitive and suitable for glucose biosensor based on GOx function. The GOx concentration within the PPy-cMWNTs-GOx nanobiocomposite and the film thickness are crucial for the performance of the glucose biosensor. The amperometric responses of the optimized PPy-cMWNTs-GOx glucose biosensor (1.5 mgmL(-1) GOx, 141 mCcm(-2) total charge) displayed a sensitivity of 95 nAmM(-1), a linear range up to 4mM, and a response time of about 8s.  相似文献

A water soluble nanocomposite, based on Ag-nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) loaded on hyperbranched poly (amide-amine, HBPAA) was prepared, characterized and utilized in functional finishing as well as in combined reactive dyeing/and functional finishing of linen, cotton and viscose fabrics. Incorporation of the nanocomposite alone and in combination with reactive dyes in easy care finishing formulations brought about an outstanding antibacterial functionality of the finished and the dyed/finished fabrics even after 15 laundering cycles along with a slight negative impact on other performance properties. Improvement or decrement in the functional, comfort, and dyeing properties is governed by the type of cellulosic substrate.  相似文献

Iron oxide (Fe(3)O(4)) nanoparticles prepared using co-precipitation method have been dispersed in chitosan (CH) solution to fabricate nanocomposite film on indium-tin oxide (ITO) glass plate. Glucose oxidase (GOx) has been immobilized onto this CH-Fe(3)O(4) nanocomposite film via physical adsorption. The size of the Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles estimated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has been found to be approximately 22 nm. The CH-Fe(3)O(4) nanocomposite film and GOx/CH-Fe(3)O(4)/ITO bioelectrode have been characterized using UV-visible and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques, respectively. This GOx/CH-Fe(3)O(4)/ITO nanocomposite bioelectrode has response time of 5s, linearity as 10-400 mgdL(-1) of glucose, sensitivity as 9.3 microA/(mgdLcm(2)) and shelf life of about 8 weeks under refrigerated conditions. The value of Michaelis-Menten (K(m)) constant obtained as 0.141 mM indicates high affinity of immobilized GOx towards the substrate (glucose).  相似文献

Aminoethyl chitins (AEC) with different amino contents were synthesized from chitin and 2-chlorethylamine hydrochloride, and the AEC hydrogels were prepared by crosslinking with glutaraldehyde. The microstructures, swelling behaviors and antibacterial activities of the hydrogels were investigated. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), (1)H nuclear magnetic resonance ((1)H NMR) spectrum and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the hydrogels were prepared by forming the Schiff base from AEC and glutaraldehyde. The aminoethyl chitin hydrogels were sensitive to acidic environment. The swelling ratio changed with the amino content of AEC, declined with the increase of the crosslinking agent concentration and increased with the increase of the AEC concentration. In addition, the antibacterial results of the hydrogels against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) indicated that the hydrogels had good antibacterial activities, and the antibacterial properties were affected by the amino content of AEC and the crosslinking agent concentration.  相似文献
