A new species of Pelomus Reiss, 1989 Reiss, F. 1989. Pelomus gen. nov., ein weiterer potamobionter Vertreter des Harnischia-Komplexes aus dem Amazonasbecken (Diptera, Chironomidae)’. Acta Biologica Debrecina Oecologia Hungarica, 2: 305314.  [Google Scholar] (Diptera: Chironomidae: Chironominae), P. sophiae sp. n., is described and figured as male, pupa and larva. Diagnoses for male and pupa of the genus are emended. The larvae, reared in the laboratory to obtain all life stages, were collected on bottom sand of reservoir and ponds, in southeast Brazil.  相似文献

Easkia kuiterti, which was also synonymised with E. ventidioides Lundlblad, 1933 by Polhemus (1992 Polhemus, J.T . (1992), ‘Nomenclatural Notes on Aquatic and Semiaquatic Heteroptera’ [Short communications], Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society , 64(4), 438443.[Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]), is considered valid species. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:F6E94274-2305-4096-9186-2D799124E2FA  相似文献

Abstract

Hydrotrupes chinensis Nilsson, 2003 Nilsson, A.N. (2003), ‘Dytiscidae. XII. A New Species of Hydrotrupes Sharp from China, an Example of Pacific Intercontinental Disjunction (Coleoptera)’, in Water Beetles of China (Vol. 3), eds. M.A. Jäch and L. Ji, Vienna: Zoologische-Botanische, Gesellschaft, pp. 284297. [Google Scholar] described from the holotype collected in Anhui Province, China, is newly recorded from three localities in Guangdong Province, ca. 750?km southwest from the type locality. The species seems to inhabit hygropetric habitats exclusively, with diurnal larvae and nocturnal adults hidden under stones or in cracks in rock during the day; when disturbed, the adults readily jumped off the rock surface. The adult is redescribed. The larvae are described and illustrated for the first time, with detailed morphometric and chaetotaxic analyses of the cephalic capsule, head appendages, legs, last abdominal segment, and urogomphi. Whereas similar morphologically to the Nearctic endemic Hydrotrupes palpalis Sharp, 1882 Sharp, D. (1882), ‘On Aquatic Carnivorous Coleoptera or Dytiscidae’, Scientific Transactions of the Royal Dublin Society, 2, 1791003. [Google Scholar], the first instar larva of H. chinensis distinguishes by presence of six lamellae clypeales, two additional spine-like setae both on the last abdominal segment and urogomphomere 1, and the strongly developed egg bursters.  相似文献

The Divakar-Reese procedure has been successfully applied for transforming 7-oxo-isothiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine C-nucleosides (4a,b, 5a,b, 6a) via 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl intermediates (7a,b, 8a,b) into various 7-substituted C-nucle- osides 15a,b, 16a,b, 17a, 18a, 19a,b, 20a,b; their subsequent deprotection provides novel types of unusual C-glycosides 22b, 23a, 24a,b, 25b, 26b.

ABSTRACT

One proven strategy to help students make sense of abstract concepts is to sequence instruction so students have exploratory opportunities to investigate science before being introduced to new science explanations (Abraham and Renner 1986 Abraham, M. R. and Renner, J. W. 1986. The sequence of learning cycle activities in high school chemistry. Journal of Research in Science Teaching, 23: 121143. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]; Renner, Abraham, and Birnie 1988 Renner, J. W., Abraham, M. R. and Birnie, H. H. 1988. The necessity of each phase of the learning cycle in teaching high school physics. Journal of Research in Science Teaching, 25: 3958. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). To help physical science teachers make sense of how to effectively sequence lessons, this article summarizes our experiences using an exploration–explanation sequence of instruction to teach Bernoulli's principle to prospective middle and secondary science teachers in a science methods course. We use demonstrations during our Bernoulli unit to help students go back and forth between their observations of phenomenon and what occurs on the microscopic level with what we have termed molecular talk. Students engage in guiding questions, consider their old and new understandings of science, and use evidence to construct new ideas during all stages of the lesson.  相似文献

Diamesa mendotae Muttkowski, 1915 Muttkowski, R.A. (1915), ‘New Insect Life Histories. I’, Bulletin of the Wisconsin Natural History Society, 13, 109122. [Google Scholar] is a winter-active species common in groundwater-buffered streams of Minnesota and Wisconsin. This species is capable of surviving under snow cover for at least 28 days. Field collections of adult D. mendotae were used to determine survivorship under long-term exposure to controlled sub-freezing conditions. Specimens were placed into a controlled temperature chamber at ?5 °C, batches removed at weekly intervals, and subsequently held at 6 °C to determine survivorship and longevity. Our results indicate that overall survivorship is negatively related to treatment duration of sub-freezing treatment, individuals can survive sub-freezing temperatures for at least 70 days, with total longevity of 92 days. Additionally, males had a significantly higher rate of survivorship than females within treatments. Total longevity increased with treatment time, suggesting adult D. mendotae may survive long periods of below-freezing temperatures under natural conditions before mating, which may convey population-level advantages.  相似文献

The water mite Hydrachna guanajuatensis Cook, 1980 Cook, D. (1980), ‘Studies on Neotropical Water Mites’ Memoirs of the American Entomological Institute, 31, 1645. [Google Scholar] is recorded as an ectoparasite of Ranatra sp. (Nepidae), Notonecta sp., Buenoa sp. (Notonectidae), Krizousacorixa femorata (Guérin, 1857), Trichocorixella mexicana (Hungerford, 1927), and Hesperocorixa laevigata (Uhler, 1893) (Corixidae). The host body region, where the larvae and protonymph attach, depends significantly on the heteropteran species: χ2 = 3969.43, p < 0.05 and χ2 = 1893.6, p < 0.05, respectively. We performed a cross tabulation with a correspondence analysis and found three associations for the larvae: 1) dorsal side of abdomen underneath the wings of the two species of Notonectidae, 2) head, wings, and hind legs of two of the species of Corixidae (T. mexicana and K. femorata), and 3) thorax and fore and middle legs of the single species of Nepidae. These different patterns are discussed according to morphological and ecological characteristics of the hosts. This is the first study that deals with the spatial distribution patterns within the same species of ectoparasite.  相似文献

Abstract

Two series of novel fluorinated nucleosides dimers with an unnatural 1,2,3-triazole linkage were synthesized. The obtained molecules were prepared using “click” chemistry approach based on copper(I) catalyzed Huisgen azide–alkyne cycloaddition. It was performed between 3′- and 5′-azido-nucleosides as the azide components, and the 3′-O- and 5′-O-propargyl-nucleosides as the alkyne components. Based on analysis of the 3 Brunton, L.
