Rhagophthalmus fugongensis Li & Liang and Rhagophthalmus lufengensis Li & Ohba are introduced as new to science. The first record of R. tonkineus in China is provided. The male genitalia of R. gibbosulus and R. giganteus are described and illustrated. The female and larva of R. giganteus and the female of R. semisulcatus are illustrated. The distribution of Rhagophthalmus is discussed and a rectification of the relative arrangement of different parts of the male genitalia is provided (the base‐piece is on the ventral side of the male genitalia, and the parameres on the dorsal side).  相似文献

The male and female of Polycentropus cianficconiae sp. n. (Peloritani Mountains, Northeast Sicily) are described. This new species is related to P. divergens Mosely, 1930, of which the variability of some characters of male genitalia is examined. Female genitalia of the new species are compared to those of P. divergens, P. malickyi Moretti, 1981 and P. mortoni Mosely, 1930. The characters of female genitalia are useful for evaluating the relatedness and differences among the species. They agree with the findings of the study on male genitalia.  相似文献

Tricalcaria Han gen. nov. and its type species Tricalcaria stueningi Han sp. nov. are described from China. Morphological characters, including those of the male and female genitalia, are figured. The main diagnostic characters of Tricalcaria are: hind tibia with three spurs in both male and female; ventral margin of costal protrusion bearing a series of long, hook‐like, sclerotized setae in the male genitalia; female papilla analis modified and bearing over part of its surface broad blade‐like sclerotized setae. The wing pattern, venation, and genitalia of this genus are compared with those of the most closely related genera, Tristeirometa Holloway, 1997, Hypocometa Warren, 1896, and Phthonoloba Warren, 1893. Tribal placement is discussed, with the conclusion that the new genus should be placed in the tribe Trichopterygini.  相似文献

This is the sixth part in a series on the family Lecithoceridae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea) of New Guinea. The complex of five sibling species of Lecithocera sublunata Diakonoff is defined, describing further three new species: L. pseudolunata sp. nov., L. fascitiala sp. nov. and L. niptanensis sp. nov., and comparing them to another related species, L. tenella (Turner), comb. nov. from Australia. Images of adults, labial palpi, and male and female genitalia are given. A key to species related to L. sublunata is provided.  相似文献

A new species of Notodiaptomus, Notodiaptomus simillimus sp. nov., based on the female originally but erroneously assigned to Rhacodiaptomus calatus, and the corresponding newly discovered male, is described and illustrated in detail. The designation of the female as a new species of Notodiaptomus, and the recognition of the corresponding new male, is based on detailed morphological and biometrical studies, analysis of the known distribution and material from laboratory cultures. Morphological analysis demonstrated that the female shares the form of the external genital area and setal armature of the exopod 2 of leg 5 with other species of Notodiaptomus but they differ from those exhibited by species of Rhacodiaptomus. The distributions of the female and male assigned to Notodiaptomus simillimus sp. nov. overlap and include the Atabapo and Guaviare Rivers and Lago Calado. On the other hand, the distributions of the males and females originally assigned to R. calatus are disjunct and where they overlap, that is, in Lago Calado, each is accompanied by its respective mate. Laboratory cultures showed that, as expected, copulation did not occur between males and females described originally as R. calatus. This experiment demonstrated the existence of reproductive isolating mechanisms between these females and males, and confirmed the existence of two distinct genetic pools, i.e. two different species, the original males being of the valid R. calatus and the female a new Notodiaptomus. This female and the corresponding newly discovered male are N. simillimus. The new species is closely related to N. coniferoides.  相似文献

Abstract A new species of Culicoides, C. tahemanensis sp. nov. is described from Xingjiang Uygur Aut. Reg. in China. The new species is closely allied to Culicoides grisescens Edwards, but both of them are distinctly different in pale spots of cell R5 and cell A of wing of female, and shape of distal portion of aedeagus of male. The ninth tergum of new species is somewhat allied to C. nipponensis Tokunaga, but distinctly different in pale spots of cell R5, cell M2 and cell A of wing, and shape of aedeagus of male. The type speciemens are deposited in the Institute of Military Medical Sciences, Shenyang Military District, Shengyang 110034, China.  相似文献

The male adults Tanytarsus monospinosus sp. n. and Tanytarsus tumultuarius sp. n. from Brazil are described as new to science, and the species Tanytarsus abnormis Lehmann is transferred to Neostempellina Reiss. The species share the reduction of the median volsella, a genital feature well developed amongst most species of Tanytarsini. There are no obvious close relatives amongst previously described Tanytarsus species, and a thorough phylogenetic analysis including the immature stages will be necessary. However, because there are large differences between these two new species in most morphological characters, it can be assumed that they are not closely related, and the loss of the median volsella thus is unlikely to be a synapomorphy.  相似文献

The genus Hemibidessus Zimmermann, 1921 is revised. Six species are recognized in the genus. Two new species are described, H. spirodiscus sp. n. from Bolivia and H. spangleri sp. n. from Argentina. A key for identifying the species is presented. The female genitalia are thoroughly illustrated and described for the first time for any species of Bidessini. Other important diagnostic structures are also illustrated including the male genitalia. A cladistic analysis is presented for 8 species (6 ingroup and 2 outgroup species) and 13 characters. A single most parsimonious cladogram was found.  相似文献

Nesotriatoma confusa sp. nov. (Hemiptera, Reduviidae, Triatominae) is described based on specimens from Cuba. From one male, one female, and eleven nymphs of a then‐undescribed species of Nesotriatoma collected in Cuba, a colony was formed and its specimens were used to describe N. confusa sp. nov. Characters were observed on the head, thorax, abdomen, female external genitalia, and male genitalia with optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. We concluded that N. bruneri (Usinger, 1944 ) was indeed a synonym of N. flavida (Neiva, 1911 ) as previously proposed.  相似文献
