Research Interests Dr. Lu＇s main interest lies in the insect population ecology, integrated pest management, and invasion biology. He is committed to researching the biological and ecological basis for insect pest control, developing the correspongding management strategy and technology, and implementing those strategy and technology in pest management practice. Significant progress has been achieved in the biology, ecology, monitoring, prevention and control theory and technology for red imported fire ant （So/eno, osis/nvicta）, oriental fruit fly （Bactrocera dorsal/s）, invasive cotton mealybug （Phenacoccus solenopsis）, invasive palm pests, banana pests, etc. He has been one of the undertaker of more than 30 projects from the state, provinces and ministries, and also finished the other about 50 projects. He participated in and gained the 11 science and technology achievements, 7 patents, 12 country/industry/local standards. More than 310 papers （section, chapter） including 34 SCI papers were published. He has received 1 National Science and Technology Progress Prize, 4 Science and Technology Prize of Guangdong Province （2 first class, 1 second class, and 1 third class）, 1 Agricultural Science and Technology Prize of China （third class）, and 3 Agricultural Technology Promotion Prize of Guangdong （2 first class and 1 second class）.
