福建敖江口表层沉积硅藻空间分布特征   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
为探讨福建敖江口表层沉积硅藻空间分布特征,2019年7月对敖江口进行表层沉积硅藻的采样调查,并研究了硅藻与环境因子的关系。结果表明,从13个站点共检出硅藻114种,隶属于39属。硅藻丰度具有从河口向外海先减少后增加的变化特征。聚类分析表明,主要硅藻属种可划分为淡水种组合带和半咸水-咸水种组合带。典型对应分析(CCA)表明,表层海水温度和盐度是影响硅藻分布的主要环境变量。河口区盐度相对较低,主要分布淡水种双面曲壳藻、优美曲壳藻和颗粒沟链藻;外海区北部盐度相对较高,主要分布咸水种流水双菱藻;外海区南部盐度相对较低,主要分布淡水种优美曲壳藻和颗粒沟链藻;滩涂的沉积物较粗,主要分布优美曲壳藻。此外,河口区和外海区南部可能存在一定的水体污染。  相似文献

Phytoplankton of the Southern Ocean, 140–148°E and 40–53°S, was sampled from early austral summer Nov. 1995 to Dec. 1995 to examine cell abundance, cell volume and biomass (cell carbon) distribution across the fronts. A total of 90 phytoplankton taxa were identified. They were 50 diatoms, 37 dinoflagellates, 2 silicoflagellates, and 1 prymnesiophyte. 73 species were observed from north of the subtropical convergence zone and 71 species from south of the subtropical convergence zone.Pseudonitzschia spp. was the most widely distributed species. Nanoplankton predominated cell number of phytoplankton throughout the stations. The abundance of diatoms was higher than that of dinofiagellates. Total biomass profiles were dependent to microphytoplankton biomass. Maximum cell number and biomass were observed from subsurface layer. Phytoplankton community changed across the subtropical convergence zone and 50–53°S (antarctic convergence zone), and physicoehemical factors seem to controll the distribution.  相似文献

The diatoms in the Cabo Frio (Brazil) upwelling: check listand ecological study. A qualitative and quantitative study onthe diatoms from the Cabo Frio area was made and a check listproduced. Sampling was carried out over one year at an anchoragestation in the upwelling zone. Data were analysed by means ofa multivariate statistical method, in order to show the mainsynecological aspects of the diatom populations. Diatoms dominatein most samples, except in the Brazil current water where dinoflagellatesare dominant, and where there is a poor population of thermophilicdiatoms. Recently upwelled water has a poor phytoplankton composedof epiphytic and benthic species; these are substituted by intenseblooms of neritic and opportunist diatoms when the temperaturerises. The annual distribution of the diatoms accompanies theoccurrence of upwelling. The vertical thermal gradient or waterstability is the most important factor affecting the specificcomposition and distribution of the diatom communities.  相似文献

In this study, the diet composition and trophic structure of the fish assemblage in the headwaters of the Chishui River were investigated. A total of 1677 fish specimens belonging to 14 species were collected and dissected. Of these specimens, 1063 individuals with undigested food in their stomachs or guts were used for analysis. Our analysis identified thirty-one kinds of prey, which were classified into eight categories, namely, diatoms, chlorophytes, other vegetable prey, aquatic insects, mollusks, other invertebrates, fishes, and unidentified organic matters. Among these categories, diatoms were the most important prey for this fish assemblage. With an ontogenetic dietary shift, the 14 species were subdivided into 16 predator groups, which were categorized into five trophic guilds, namely, algivore (diatoms), algivore (chlorophytes), omnivore, aquatic insectivore, and piscivore. Their diet composition significantly differed from one guild to another (p?<?0.05), and an evident overlap was observed in the diet spectrum between predator group in the algivore (diatoms) guild. These results suggested that autochthonous organic carbon was an important nutrient source for the fish assemblage in the headwaters of the Chishui River rather than allochthonous nutrients. For the protection of the fish resources, conservation efforts on the river substratum and the riparian zone in the headwaters of the Chishui River should be prioritized because these places are the main nutrient sources.  相似文献

Samples of drifting and periphytic microalgae were collected during 1972 from a fast-flowing, stony stream (Brurskardsbekken) in the Jotunheimen mountain area, central southern Norway. The predominant algal groups in the drift and the periphyton were diatoms and green algae, while only a few species were recorded in both communities. A considerable number of species from Chrysophyceae, Cryptophyceae and other algal classes were also recorded in the drift samples. The species composition was in good agreement with microalgal communities earlier described from mountain areas in Scandinavia, although species which probably are new to Norway, were also recorded. A quantitatively important fraction of planktonic species in the drift is interpreted as a contribution from lacustrine habitats in the watercourse. A general change in the periphyton during the summer, from green algae to diatoms, was observed, Altitudinal differences in the periphyton included a delayed green algal maximum at higher altitudes compared to lower. In the zone around the upper birch limit, a transition in species composition as one goes up stream, described in other investigations, was not observed.  相似文献

Benthic diatoms are assumed to be of minor importance as food sources in sandy-beach food webs, since they are typically scarce in sandy-beach sediments; whereas organic matter derived from land and sea is known to be more important in sandy-beach food webs. In order to test if benthic and planktonic diatoms play a minor or major role, respectively, in sandy-beach food webs, a laboratory experiment was conducted. Labelled planktonic and benthic diatoms, enriched in the stable carbon 13C isotope, were offered as food sources to sandy-beach macrofauna and meiofauna communities. Uptake of both types of diatoms occurred with most of the species, but benthic diatoms were preferentially consumed by two macrofaunal species and all meiofaunal species. This result reveals the importance of benthic carbon sources in both macrofaunal and interstitial food webs, and suggests a link between both food webs through the common use of benthic diatoms.  相似文献

The littoral zone of shallow water bodies in the Czech Republic has been studied quite consistently at several fishponds. The use of algae, especially diatoms, for the monitoring of the state of lotic freshwater also has a long tradition. The main objective of the presented paper is to validate the feasibility of the use of littoral periphyton comunities for the biomonitoring of standing waters. At the investigated sites, littoral periphytic diatoms were studied together with selected enviromental variables (pH, conductivity, nutrients – especially total phosphorus) on three types of natural substrates (epilithon, epiphyton, epipelon). The evaluation of the diatom community was performed on the basis of the checklists of algal indicator species published by authors from the Czech Republic, Austria and the Netherlands. The data were subjected to statistical software NCCS 2000 (GLM Anova and ``Ward's minimum'' variance cluster analysis). Littoral periphytic diatoms appear to be good indicators of the fishpond water quality. The selected substrates show non-significant differences therefore the average values from all substrates were used. The best indicatory system for evaluation of Czech fishponds was van Dam's index.

Coherence between ecological status assessment by phytoplankton and attached diatoms was analyzed in the littoral zone of Lake Balaton. Sampling of periphytic diatoms, phytoplankton, and water were carried out at ten different littoral sites in the northern and southern shores of the lake for a year. Phytoplankton species were sorted into functional groups and ecological status was assessed by means of the phytoplankton assemblage Q index. The index TDIL was calculated using quantitative attached diatom data. Significant differences were found between the ecological assessments based on phytoplankton and phytobenthos metrics, both seasonally and spatially. The Q index indicated ecological states varying from bad to good, while the average of diatom indices varied from moderate to high conditions. The Q index provided more realistic ecological status of Lake Balaton, compared with trophic status based on TP values, especially in the summer period. Differences in the response-time indication of phytoplankton and attached diatoms suggest that lack of coherence should also be expected between the responses of other BQEs.  相似文献

The composition and distribution of the main unicellular eukaryotic groups (diatom algae, ciliates, dinoflagellates (DF), other phototrophic (PF) and heterotrophic flagellates (HF)) were investigated in sandy sediments at five stations allocated across the tidal sheltered beach of the White Sea. Overall, 75 diatoms, 98 ciliates, 16 DF, 3 PF and 34 HF species were identified; some are new records for the White Sea. Common species for each group are illustrated. Diatoms and ciliates showed high alpha-diversity (species richness per sample), whereas flagellates were characterized by high beta-diversity (species turnover across the intertidal flat). Each group demonstrated its own spatial pattern that was best matched with its own subset of abiotic variables, reflecting group-specific responses to environmental gradients. Species richness increased from the upper intertidal zone seaward for ciliates but decreased for HF, whereas autotrophs showed a relatively uniform pattern with a slight peak at the mid-intertidal zone. Across the littoral zone, all groups showed distinct compositional changes; however, the position of the boundary between “upper” and “lower” intertidal communities varied among groups. Most of the species found at Ryazhkov Island are known from many other regions worldwide, indicating a wide geographic distribution of microbial eukaryotic species.  相似文献

A study was done of the relationship between hydrographic variables and the composition, abundance, community structure and biomass spectrums of coastal phytoplankton at scales greater than 100 km on the Yucatan Peninsula (SE Gulf of Mexico). This was done during the season of greatest environmental instability in the region, the northwind season (late fall to winter). Samples were collected at stations in the west (Campeche), north (Yucatan), and east (Quintana Roo) zones of the Peninsula. Measurements were taken of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, dissolved inorganic nutrients (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate) and chlorophyll a, and samples were taken for phytoplankton analysis. The hydrographic results showed the Campeche zone as having the lowest salinity (<35 psu) values, as well as the highest inorganic nutrient and chlorophyll a values, all of which are related to continental water contributions. The Yucatan zone had the lowest temperatures and the lowest inorganic nutrient values, indicating influence from the Yucatan Current and the Gulf of Mexico. A total of 159 phytoplankton species were identified, dominated by diatoms (>80%) and dinoflagellates. Phytoplankton exhibited greater concentration, richness, equitability and diversity in Campeche, while the lowest community structure values were had in the Quintana Roo zone. The ordination analysis demonstrated that the dominant genera were the diatoms Chaetoceros, Pseudonitzschia and Thalassionema. The biomass spectrums exhibited the lowest slope in environments of higher heterogeneity, with Campeche being the most disturbed and heterogeneous zone and Quintana Roo that with the least heterogeneity.  相似文献

Here we report morphological and molecular characteristics of dominant freshwater diatoms in summer Arctic reservoirs of Svalbard (Norway), using four culture isolates, when we collected the samples in the field on 15 August 2005. Analyses of morphology and BLAST searches with 18S rDNA sequences identified them to Diatoma tenue (HYNP006, HYNP013), Navicula pelliculosa (HYNP021), and Fragilaria vaucheriae (HYNP022), respectively. Comparative studies of morphology revealed that the body shapes of the three polar diatoms were nearly identical to the known morphology of each species; however, they were considerably shorter in body length than previously described identical species from other locations. The 18S rDNA sequences of the diatoms were nearly identical to the same species from temperate and other regions. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the polar diatoms each formed a clade with their identical species and genera according to their taxonomic positions. This suggests that the polar diatoms may possess little or no genetic or morphological variation compared to more temperate strains.  相似文献

The fossil calcareous and siliceous phytoplankton occurring in the Neogene of the island of Crete — Greece — (South Aegean island arc), was studied using normal ligntmicroscopic techniques. By this method it was possible to identify 13 species of the silicoflagellates and 22 species of the diatoms, which are investigated in this work for their stratigraphical range. The nannoplankton assemblages along the locality from Tsikalaria belong to theDistephanus boliviensis and theDiscoaster tamalis zone (early Upper Pliocene).  相似文献

Applied algal studies typically require enumeration of preserved cells. As applications of algal assessments proliferate, understanding sources of variability inherent in the methods by which abundance and species composition data are obtained becomes even more important for precision of measurements. We performed replicate counts of diatoms on permanently fixed coverglasses and all algae in Palmer–Maloney chambers to assess precision and accuracy of measurements derived from common counting methods. We counted diatoms and all algae with transects and random fields. Variability estimates (precision) of diatom density, species diversity, and species composition on permanent coverglasses were low between replicate subsamples and between replicate transects. However, average density estimates of diatoms settled on coverglasses determined with transect methods were 42–52% greater than density estimates made with random fields. This bias was due to a predictable, nonrandom distribution of diatoms on the coverglass with few diatoms near edges. Despite bias in density when counting diatoms along coverglass transects, no bias was observed in estimates of species composition. Estimates of density and taxa richness of all-algae in Palmer–Maloney chambers also had low variability among multiple transects and high similarity in species composition between transects. In addition, counting method in Palmer–Maloney chambers did not affect estimates of algal cell density, taxa richness, and species composition, which suggested that counting units were distributed randomly in the chambers. Thus, most sources of variability in sample preparation and analysis are small; however, transect counts should not be used to estimate cell density, and sufficient numbers of random fields must be counted to account for edge effects on cell distribution with material settled on permanently fixed coverglasses.  相似文献

The species composition and phytoplankton biomass, concentrations of chlorophyll “a” (Chl) and nutrients, concurrent hydrophysical conditions were studied in the south part of the White Sea in July 10–15, 2012 during chlorophyll “a” decrease after summer peak. The water column stability varied, the concentration of dissolved silicon in upper mixed layer was closed to the range favorable for diatoms with exception of areas of intensive tide mixing and areas influenced by waters of Severnaya Dvina River. In surface layer the dinoflagellates dominated excepting of areas with intensive tide mixing where diatoms prevailed. Diatoms provided major contribution to biomass in different stations above, in and under pycnocline and in deep waters out of photic zone. Structural analysis has revealed three phytoplankton communities that corresponded to different depths: communities of photic zone, intermediate and deep layers. Extension of layers inhabited by different communities depended on water column stability and on genesis of water masses. Integrated values of phytoplankton biomass and Chl varied from 250 to 1188 mg С/m2, and from 22 to 51 mg/m2, correspondently.  相似文献

The biogeography of Antarctic lacustrine diatoms is incompletely known due in part to the absence of information from some important ice-free regions. In the first detailed study of the diatoms of the Bunger Hills, 29 species were identified in near-edge microbial mats of lakes ranging in salinity from fresh to 77‰. Most of the species present had previously been recorded in other East Antarctic coastal oases. The distribution and relative abundance of diatoms within the Bunger Hills were strongly influenced by salinity, but other factors, notably the characteristics of lakes in the immediate area of a particular lake, also played important roles.  相似文献

The ability of deposit feeders to utilise the pool of live planktonic diatoms in the sediment was investigated after the spring bloom in 2001 and 2002 at four sediment sites in the aphotic zone in the Kattegat. Seven species of deposit-feeding bivalves, gastropods and polychaetes were allowed to defecate in containers with filtered seawater. A total of 22 containers were set up holding between 3 and 32 animals, grouped by station and taxa. When defecation was completed, the animals were re-introduced to different stocks of homogenised sediment which were manipulated by addition of luminophores and spores of the diatom Chaetoceros diadema, and the faeces again collected and analysed. Our analysis included the number of germinable planktonic diatoms, measured by the dilution extinction method, and the concentrations of the algae pigments fucoxanthin and chl a, in the faeces samples, in the sediment stocks and in the sediment at the sampling location. Comparison between the sediment composition at the sampling locations, and the composition of the corresponding faeces, showed that the concentration of germinable diatoms averaged about 50,000 g−1 dry weight (DW) in the surface sediment as well as in the faeces in 2001, while in 2002, the average concentration was about 390,000 g−1 DW in both faeces and in the sediment. A similar comparison in the second part of the experiments also showed that the diatoms in the sediment were unaffected by gut passage and the added spores of C. diadema germinated in the same quantity in the faeces as in the sediment. The taxonomic composition of the diatoms in the faeces matched the composition at the respective stations and sediment stocks. Finally, the concentration of pigments did not change significantly during gut passage. The biomass of live planktonic diatoms in the area of study was estimated to be 2-10 g DW/m2 or 0.2-5% of the total organic content in the top 3 cm of the sediment. It is concluded that this pool of diatoms is largely unaffected by deposit feeders and seems to be unimportant as a food source. It is hypothesised that the input of the spring bloom should be considered as composed of two fractions playing different roles for the benthic ecosystem. One fraction of dead organic material may be utilised immediately, while the fraction of live planktonic diatoms serve as a stable food buffer, which gradually become available to deposit feeders after the diatoms die and degradation starts.  相似文献

The composition and temporal changes in phytoplankton populationswere evaluated in local upwelling off the Izu Peninsula. Japan.in May. 1982. Phytoplankton in the upwelled water was dominatedby diatoms and that in the surrounding water by various flagellatesand monads. Phytoplankton started logarithmic growth almostimmediately after subsurface nutrient-rich water was upwellinginto the euphotic zone and nutrients were depleted within afew days. Growth enhancement was most striking among diatoms.As a result >50% of the total phytoplankton biomass of cells>2 µm was from a centric diatom. Leptocylindrus danicus.The results confirmed many past observations of the dominanceof diatoms in upwelled water. Large epiphytic and epilithic diatom species hosting other diatoms were observed in several fresh- and brackish water sites in Southern California. The most commonly encountered hosts were species forming long filaments attached to rocks or macroalgae, Hydrosera whampoensis (Schwarz) Hendey, Melosira varians Agardh, Pleurosira laevis (Ehrenberg) Compere and Terpsinoe musica Ehrenberg. These large diatoms often had smaller diatoms attached, usually to the girdle bands and occasionally to the mucilage pads connecting the cells. For example, cells of T. musica were observed supporting growth of a diverse diatom assemblage composed of species of the genera Achnanthes , Achnanthidium , Amphora , Cocconeis and Tabularia; Synedra sp. was attached to M. varians and B. paxillifer; and Cocconeis placentula was seen on H. whampoensis. Thus, large epiphytic and epilithic diatoms seem to provide suitable sites for attachment of small epiphytic diatom species, and it appears that this phenomenon is more common than previously thought.  相似文献

Valve abundances of marine planktonic, marine benthic and freshwater diatoms in 780 sediment surface samples from the North and Equatorial Atlantic between 20° S 75° W and 70° N 10° E display patterns that do not correspond to published records of primary production in the photic zone. On the contrary, their abundance is more closely related to dissolution and dilution by terrigenous minerogenic and biogenic carbonate material. Highest abundances of marine planktonic diatoms occur in the northern North Atlantic south of Iceland and in the equatorial regions. The central North Atlantic and the central Caribbean, which feature lower primary production in the photic zone, contain few or no diatoms in surface sediments. African derived freshwater diatoms are concentrated in a lobe between 5° S and 20° N latitude decreasing in numbers from the African continent westward.Lars Gronlien died unexpectedly in January 1992.  相似文献
