Melissopalynological, physicochemical, and volatile analyses of 29 samples of Corsican ‘summer maquis’ honey were performed. The pollen spectrum was characterized by a wide diversity of nectariferous and/or polleniferous taxa. The most important were Anthyllis hermanniae and Rubus sp., associated with some endemic taxa. Castanea sativa was also determined in these honeys with a great variation. The volatile fraction was characterized by 37 compounds and dominated by phenolic aldehydes and linear acids. The major compounds were phenylacetaldehyde, benzaldehyde, and nonanoic acid. Statistical analysis of pollen and volatile data showed that 18 samples were characterized by a high abundance of phenylacetaldehyde, which might relate to the high amount of A. hermanniae and Rubus sp. Eleven other samples displayed a higher proportion of phenolic ketones and linear acids, which characterized the nectar contribution of C. sativa and Thymus herba‐barona, respectively.  相似文献

The pollen content of eleven honey samples from ten different apiaries in the Baixa Limia – Serra do Xurés Nature Reserve and other honey commercialised by the cooperative as “Mel do Xurés” (north‐west Spain) was subjected to quantitative and qualitative melissopalynological analysis. The quantitative analysis found that ten samples belonged to Maurizio's Class III and one to Class IV. According to the qualitative analysis, four samples were classified as unifloral honey with Erica, four samples as multifloral honey with Erica pollen as the principal component and three samples as multifloral honey with Cytisus‐type pollen and Erica as the principal component pollen. The pollen spectra differ between the diverse honeys analysed, with a common denominator being Erica and Cytisus‐type pollen being abundant in all. For the rest of the samples, the pollen spectra were mainly the same, but with different relative percentages among secondary elements. Thus, either as a secondary or an important element, 91% of the honeys contained Quercus, 82% Castanea sativa Miller, 45% Rubus, 36% Cistus and 27% Lithodora prostrate (Loisel) Griseb,. In particular, we record for the first time the presence of Ribes and Ilex aquifolium L. pollen in Spanish honeys as an important minor or minor pollen component.  相似文献

Vitamin B6 is synthesized by green Cytisus scoparius callus and green Phellodendron amurense callus cultured on Linsmaier and Skoog Agar-medium with 10?5m of ±-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and 10?6 m of 6-benzyladenine (BA). Even when thiamine and inositol were omitted from this medium, the growth and vitamin B6 content of Cytisus scoparius callus did not change. Vitamin B6 contents of clones of the calluses varied and were unstable during long-term subculture. Clonal selection was repeated to obtain stable strains with high vitamin B6 content, and the vitamin B6 content of one strain of green Cytisus scoparius callus became 4-times higher than that of the green leaves.  相似文献

A melissopalynological study was carried out on 75 samples of Eucalyptus honey from different countries (22 from Australia, 13 from Portugal and 40 from Northwest Spain), in which a total of 145 different pollen types were identified. Of such, only Eucalyptus, Acacia, Brassica, Echium, Ligustrum, Plantago, Rumex, Taraxacum, Trifolium and Vicia pollen are present in the honeys from all three countries.

Among the most abundant pollen types in Australian honeys, those belonging to the following families stand out: Myrtaceae (Angophora and Melaleuca), Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Proteaceae and Euphorbiaceae, along with Raphanus, Echium and Citrus.

In the Portuguese honeys, the presence of Fabaceae, Rosaceae and Cistaceae stands out, with Castanea and Erica as secondary pollen types, while Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Boraginaceae, Cistaceae and Scrophulariaceae are the families with the highest quantity of pollen types in the samples from Spain. In the latter, the most important secondary pollen types are: Castanea, Cytisus, Erica, Lotus, Salix and Rubus.  相似文献

An analysis was made of the protein content of pollen loads produced by the bees in a hive situated in Viana do Bolo (Ourense, north-west Spain), to establish whether or not the relative quantity of protein in the pollen of each plant species influences the preference made by the bee of the flowers that supply pollen to the hive. This analysis was performed on all types of pollen that formed more than 5% of the pollen spectrum. Pollen load samples were collected directly from the hive from March to September. Pollen loads were separated by colour, and their specific homogeneity was confirmed microscopically. The Bradford method has been used for protein extraction and spectrophotometry was used for the determination of protein content. The results show that the different pollen loads have high protein content. Pollen of the plant species that reached relatively higher percentages in the pollen spectrum are also those that have the highest protein content. These were Cytisus scoparius type, uncultivated Poaceae, Quercus robur type, Sanguisorba minor, Salix fragilis and Spergularia rubra type. The pollen of the systematic units, which had pollen loads that could be identified at the level of species, maintained a constant value of protein content independently of the date the samples were obtained. The pollen of the systematic units, which had pollen loads that could be identified at the level of pollen type, has varied in protein content in the analyses performed on samples obtained on different dates. This result is due to the fact that the different species that integrate the pollen type flower on different dates, and thus have a pollenkitt with different characteristics.  相似文献

Effect of high temperatures on seed germination of two woody Leguminosae   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Cytisus scoparius and Genista florida regenerate after fire by stump-sprouting but also by seed. Seeds of these species were heated to a range of temperatures similar to those registered on the surface soil during natural fires (from 50 to 150 °C) and a range of exposure times (from 1 to 15 min). No germination was observed at high temperatures, 130 °C, when the exposure time was 5 min or more. However, moderate heat treatments (at 70 and 100 °C) significantly increased the rate of germination relative to controls. Cytisus scoparius is more favoured by fire action than Genista florida, with germination rates slightly greater following 100 °C for 5 min and 130 °C for 1 min than after mechanical scarification.  相似文献

Larvae and imagos of bees rely exclusively on floral rewards as a food source but host-plant range can vary greatly among bee species. While oligolectic species forage on pollen from a single family of host plants, polylectic bees, such as bumblebees, collect pollen from many families of plants. These polylectic species contend with interspecific variability in essential nutrients of their host-plants but we have only a limited understanding of the way in which chemicals and chemical combinations influence bee development and feeding behaviour. In this paper, we investigated five different pollen diets (Calluna vulgaris, Cistus sp., Cytisus scoparius, Salix caprea and Sorbus aucuparia) to determine how their chemical content affected bumblebee colony development and pollen/syrup collection. Three compounds were used to characterise pollen content: polypeptides, amino acids and sterols. Several parameters were used to determine the impact of diet on micro-colonies: (i) Number and weight of larvae (total and mean weight of larvae), (ii) weight of pollen collected, (iii) pollen efficacy (total weight of larvae divided by weight of the pollen collected) and (iv) syrup collection. Our results show that pollen collection is similar regardless of chemical variation in pollen diet while syrup collection is variable. Micro-colonies fed on S. aucuparia and C. scoparius pollen produced larger larvae (i.e. better mates and winter survivors) and fed less on nectar compared to the other diets. Pollen from both of these species contains 24-methylenecholesterol and high concentrations of polypeptides/total amino acids. This pollen nutritional “theme” seems therefore to promote worker reproduction in B. terrestris micro-colonies and could be linked to high fitness for queenright colonies. As workers are able to selectively forage on pollen of high chemical quality, plants may be evolutionarily selected for their pollen content, which might attract and increase the degree of fidelity of generalist pollinators, such as bumblebees.  相似文献

The pollen content of twenty-five honey samples from twelve different apiaries on La Palma (Canary Islands) was subjected to qualitative and quantitative melissopalynological analysis. The quantitative analysis showed that 4% of the honey belonged to Maurizio Class II, 88% to Class III, 4% to Class IV and 4% to Class V. In the qualitative analysis, 60 pollen types were identified from 40 different families. The number of pollen types per honey sample ranges between 16 and 37 (mean of 25.8). Foeniculum vulgare-type and Rumex sp. pollen were present in all the samples. Castanea sativa and Echium plantagineum pollen were found in 96% of them and the combination Aspalathium bituminosum, Bidens pilosa-type and Erica arborea in 92%.  相似文献

A phytoremediation process with horse manure, plants (Populus alba, Cytisus scoparius, Paulownia tomentosa) and naturally growing vegetation was carried out at a real-scale in order to phytoremediate and functionally recover a soil contaminated by metals (Zn, Pb, Cd, Ni, Cu, Cr), hydrocarbons (TPH) and polychlorobiphenyls (PCB).

All the plants were effective in two years in the reclamation of the polluted soil, showing an average reduction of about 35%, 40%, and 70% in metals, TPH and PCB content, respectively. As regards the plants, the poplar contributed the most to organic removal. In fact, its ability to take up and detoxify organic pollutants is well known. Paulownia tomentosa, instead, showed high metal removal. The Cytisus scoparius was the least effective plant in soil decontamination. The recovery of soil functionality was followed by enzyme activities, expressing the biochemical processes underway, and nutrient content useful for plant growth and development. Throughout the area, an enhancement of metabolic processes and soil chemical quality was observed. All the enzymatic activities showed a general increase over time (until 3-4 fold than the initial value for urease and β-glucosidase). Moreover, Cytisus scoparius, even though it showed a lower decontamination capability, was the most effective in soil metabolic stimulation.  相似文献

The complete amino acid sequence of a lactose-bindingCytisus sessilifolius anti-H(O) lectin II (CSA-II) was determined using a protein sequencer. After digestion of CSA-II with endoproteinase Lys-C or Asp-N, the resulting peptides were purified by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and then subjected to sequence analysis. Comparison of the complete amino acid sequence of CSA-II with the sequences of other leguminous seed lectins revealed regions of extensive homology. 为分析澜沧江流域北部人食用蜂蜜中毒的原因,于2013年6—9月份,对该区域蜜蜂和蜜源植物的分布情况进行了调查,观察蜜蜂采集有毒蜜源植物的行为,并进一步调查了蜜蜂巢内蜂蜜、蜂花粉的储存情况,采集了中华蜜蜂蜂蜜样品,进行蜂蜜孢粉学与营养生态位分析。该区域有大量采用传统方式进行人工饲养的中华蜜蜂(Apis cerana cerana),及少量野生中华蜜蜂、黑色小蜜蜂(Apis audreniformis)、黑色大蜜蜂(Apis laboriosa smith)群体分布;人工饲养的中华蜜蜂蜂巢内部结构与野生中华蜜蜂蜂巢相似,为自然蜂巢,内有充足的蜜粉储存,部分蜂群蜂巢内虫害严重。该区域内主要蜜源植物为荞麦(Fagopyrum esculentum Moench),其他零星辅助蜜源较多,部分地点南烛(Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb)、昆明山海棠(Tripterygium hypoglaucum(Levl.)Hutch)连片集中分布。对中华蜜蜂蜂蜜进行孢粉学和营养生态位分析,结果表明:中华蜜蜂蜂蜜标本中含有有毒蜜源植物南烛、昆明山海棠花粉,部分样品中南烛、昆明山海棠的花粉含所占比例较高;中华蜜蜂的营养生态位宽度为0.22,比其他地区中华蜜蜂生态位指数小,推测澜沧江水电枢纽的修建等人为原因已对蜜蜂种类、蜜源植物的物种组成、群落结构造成了较大影响。  相似文献

L'étude des pelotes de pollen et de nectar récoltés par les abeilles (Apis mellifera Var. mellifera), porte sur deux ruches d'un rucher situé dans une plantation d'Actinidia deliciosa Chev., dans la Province de Pontevedra (N. O. de l'Espagne). Les pelotes de pollen ont été recueillies dans des trappes à pollen pendant la période de floraison d'Actinidia deliciosa Chev. Des prélèvements de pollen ont également été effectués dans les jabots et les intestins des abeilles capturées a l'entrée des ruches. L'étude de tous ces échantillons a permis d'établir divers spectres palynologiques. Simultanément, une analyse de la concentration du pollen de cette espèce libéré dans l'atmosphère a été entreprise.

Les taxons les plus fréquemment récoltés par les abeilles sont: Taraxacum officinale Weber, Cistus psilosepalus Sweet, et des Crucifères avec un type pollinique affine de celui de Sinapis sp. Le pollen d'Actinidia deliciosa Chev. n'apparaît en quantité élevée dans l'atmosphère que pendant la période de pollinisation. Eucalyptus globulus Labill., Castanea sativa Miller et Taraxacum officinale Weber sont les principales sources nectarifères recherchées par les abeilles.

In order to carry out a study of pollen and nectar collected by bees (Apis mellifera Var. mellifera) we have choosen two hives from a apiary situated in a culture of Actinidia deliciosa Chev. in the province of Pontevedra (NW Spain). The pollen loads were collected during the flowering period, the intestine content and the honey sac of the bees were analysed from a palynological point of view. At the same time, a comparative analysis of the pollen content of this specimen in the atmosphere was made. The most important taxa in the pollen collected by bees are: Taraxacum officinale Weber, Cistus psilosepalus Sweet, and Sinapis sp. During the pollinization period the pollen of Actinidia deliciosa Chev. appears in high quantity in the air. The analysis of honey sac and intestine show that Eucalyptus globulus Labill., Castanea sativa Miller and Taraxacum officinale Weber are the principle nectar sources.  相似文献

The key morphological feature that distinguishes corbiculate bees from other members of the Apidae family is the presence of the corbicula (pollen basket) on the tibial segment of hind legs. Here, we show that in the honeybee (Apis mellifera), the depletion of the gene Ultrabithorax (Ubx) by RNAi transforms the corbicula from a smooth, bristle-free concave structure to one covered with bristles. This is accompanied by a reduction of the pollen press, which is located on the basitarsus and used for packing the pollen pellet as well as a loss of the orderly arrangement of the rows of bristles that form the pollen comb. All these changes make the overall identity of workers’ T3 legs assume that of the queen. Furthermore, in a corbiculate bee of a different genus, Bombus impatiens, Ubx expression is also localized in T3 tibia and basitarsus. These observations suggest that the evolution of the pollen gathering apparatus in corbiculate bees may have a shared origin and could be traced to the acquisition of novel functions by Ubx, which in Apis were instrumental for subsequent castes and behavioural differentiation.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to study some biochemical characteristics of Tunisian Nigella sativa at different developmental stages of plant growth (vegetative, flowering and fruiting stages) and to screen the chemical constituents and the phytotoxic activity of their organic extracts on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). The GC–MS analysis of petroleum ether fractions revealed that N. sativa seeds were rich in linoleic acid (58% of total fatty acids), oleic acid (22% of total fatty acids) and palmitic acid (12% of total fatty acids). The fatty acid composition of aerial parts showed an increase in the level of saturated fatty acids accompanied by a concomitant decrease of polyunsaturated fatty acids levels during the developmental stage. The phytochemical investigation showed that among the organic extracts, the methanolic extract from aerial parts harvested at the fruiting stage contained the highest amounts of phenolic and flavonoid compounds. The phytotoxic study revealed that N. sativa negatively affected the growth of lettuce plants. This effect was largely dependent on the developmental stage at which material was collected and the nature of extracting solvent. The methanolic extract of aerial parts harvested at the vegetative stage was the most active on seedling growth of lettuce.  相似文献

Scotch broom, Cytisus scoparius (Fabaceae), is a shrub native to Europe that is invasive in the USA, New Zealand and Australia. The psyllid Arytainilla spartiophila has been purposely introduced to Australia and New Zealand as a biological control agent of C. scoparius, but is an accidental introduction to California. Lupines (Lupinus spp.) are the closest native taxon to Cytisus in North America, and are therefore considered to be at the highest risk for non-target damage. However, because no lupines are native to Australia or New Zealand, only one imported forage species was evaluated during prior host specificity testing. We conducted a laboratory nymphal transfer experiment, a field choice experiment and a field survey to assess risk to three lupine species (Lupinus albifrons, Lupinus bicolor and Lupinus formosus). In the laboratory, 20% of third-instar nymphs were able to develop to adulthood on L. formosus but not on the other lupine species, while 40% completed development on C. scoparius. In the field experiment, potted lupine and C. scoparius plants were placed beside large infested C. scoparius plants; oviposition occurred on all the potted C. scoparius plants, but on none of the lupines. In the field survey, no A. spartiophila eggs or nymphs were found on naturally occurring lupines growing adjacent to infested C. scoparius. The results indicate that A. spartiophila is not likely to damage or reproduce on lupines in the field. This study provides an example of how field studies can help clarify the host specificity of biological control agents.  相似文献

The photoautotrophic culture medium for Cytisus scoparius Link cells was improved. Linsmaier and Skoog medium was modified by adding a 4-fold concentration of phosphate and lowering the auxin concentration (a-naphthaleneacetic acid 10?6M). Concentrations of all the inorganic elements except phosphate in the original basal medium were adequate for the photoautotrophic growth of Cytisus cells. A high concentration of cytokinin compensated for the inhibition of growth caused by a high concentration of auxin.  相似文献

Declining viability of pollen during storage at 24° C in atmospheres of 40% relative humidity (RH) and 75% RH was studied, with special emphasis on lipid changes. Pollens of Papaver rhoeas and Narcissus poeticus, characterized by a high linolenic acid content, were compared with Typha latifolia pollen which has a low linolenic acid content. The rationale behind this was to answer the question of whether lipid peroxidation is involved in the rapid viability loss and reduced membrane integrity of, in particular, the unsaturated-lipid pollen types. Viability and membrane integrity degraded more rapidly at 75% RH than at 40% RH. All pollen species showed deesterification of acyl chains of lipids but no detectable peroxidation at both RH levels. Considerable amounts of lipid-soluble antioxidants were detected that did not degrade during storage. Free fatty acids and lysophospholipids were formed during storage, the effects of which on membranes are discussed. These degradation products were very prominent in the short-lived Papaver pollen. The loss of viability does coincide with phospholipid deesterification. A significant decrease of the phospholipid content occurred at 75% RH, but not at 40% RH. Based on compositional analyses of phospholipids and newly formed free fatty acids, it was concluded that the deesterification of acyl chains from the lipids occurred at random. We suggest that, due to the low water content of the pollen, free radicals rather than unspecific acyl hydrolases are involved in the deesterification process.  相似文献

Background  

Camelina sativa, an oilseed crop in the Brassicaceae family, has inspired renewed interest due to its potential for biofuels applications. Little is understood of the nature of the C. sativa genome, however. A study was undertaken to characterize two genes in the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway, fatty acid desaturase (FAD) 2 and fatty acid elongase (FAE) 1, which revealed unexpected complexity in the C. sativa genome.  相似文献
