Airborne concentrations of pollen from Betula (birch), Poaceae (grasses) and Artemisia (mugwort) are compared during a seven year period (90–96) with respect to both quantitative and seasonal aspects, at three different sampling sites, one in Estonia (Tartu) and two in Sweden (Stockholm and Roma on the island of Gotland). All three taxa occur in the region and are well‐known causes of allergic sensitisation. The annual total and peak values of birch, grass and mugwort pollen were found to be much higher in Tartu than in Stockholm and Roma. Both the birch and the grass pollen seasons ended later in Stockholm than in Roma and Tartu. The mugwort flowering season always began earlier in Stockholm than at the other sites, and more days elapsed between start day and peak day in Stockholm than in Tartu.  相似文献

Summary The pineal organ of the sardine, Sardina pilchardus sardina, was investigated light and electron microscopically. The pineal parenchyma contains sensory cells, supporting cells, and ganglion cells, and the overlying tissues appear specialized for light penetration. The ganglion cells are arranged in 3 groups, their axons giving rise to the tractus epiphyseos. The sensory cell is of a photoreceptor type found in several other teleost species. No definitive evidence of a secretion was educed but some indications of an endocrine function are reported and discussed. The pineal receptor cell of neonates of Mugil spp. which have a pigment-free spot above the pineal organ, was investigated electron microscopically and found to have the same organization as that of adult Mugil auratus.Supported by grants from the Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse, Stockholm, and from the Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien, Stockholm, Sweden. This is gratefully acknowledged. The animal material has been provided by the Stazione Zoologica di Napoli.  相似文献

Guillaume, O. 2000. The ventral skin glands, new additional cloacal glands in Proteus anguinus (Caudata, Proteidae). I. Female. —Acta Zoologica (Stockholm) 81 : 213–221 Cloacae of female Proteus anguinus were examined by light and electron microscopy. Females possess spermathecae and anterior ventral glands such as Necturus females. However, female P. anguinus possess new additional cloacal glands of unknown homology. These tubular glands secrete on the ventral epidermis of the cloacal area. Considering these characteristics, it is proposed that they will be called the ventral skin glands.  相似文献

The following new species of Apioninae weevils (Coleoptera: Brentidae) are described from Dominican amber. Toxorhynchus leptorhinusn. sp., Toxorhynchus robustusn. sp., Toxorhynchus amphioculusn. sp., Toxorhynchus atriartusn. sp., Toxorhynchusatriantenusn. sp. and Toxorhynchus hispaniolicusn. sp. are members of the Toxorhynchus decoloratum species group. Toxorhynchus microsomusn. sp., Toxorhynchus stenelytrusn. sp., Toxorhynchus dominicanusn. sp., Toxorhynchus convexusn. sp., Toxorhynchus fuscocorpusn. sp., Toxorhynchus hispidulusn. sp. and Toxorhynchus convexoculusn. sp. are members of the Toxorhynchus sordidum species group. A new subtribe, Stenapiina n. subtribe of the tribe Toxorhynchini, is erected. New species Apionion homochrononn. sp.,Apionion kallimosumn. sp.,Apionion formoculusn. sp. and Stenapion levigatumn. sp. are described. The dominate species of the genus Toxorhynchus and especially those in the Toxorhynchus decoloratum and Toxorhynchus sordidum species groups in Dominican amber are now absent from the West Indies. A systematic update of extant representatives of Apioninae in Hispaniola is provided.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:2D4A59DB-E804-4B45-8773-C027A8AD5A02  相似文献

Malmberg, G. {Department of Zoology, University of Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden.) On the early development of the protonephridial systems in some species belonging to the genera Diphyllobothrium, Triaenophorus and Schistocephalus {Cestoda, Pseudophyllidea). Zool. Scripta 1 (5): 227–228, 1972.–The protonephridial systems of coracidia (oncospheres) and procercoids of four Diphyllobothrium species, of Triaenophorus nodulosus (Pallas) and of Schistocephalus solidus (Muller) were studied. In the oncospheres of Diphyllobothrium and Schistocephalus the two flame bulbs of the primary protonephridial system were present, but not in the oncospheres of Triaenophorus. In Schistocephalus the two flame bulbs were found to be inactive in the oncosphere (studied inside the coracidium), but very active in the youngest procercoids, which may imply that the primary protonephridial system does not start its function until the oncosphere has entered the copepod body cavity. The primary protonephridial system of the Triaenophorus procercoids was totally (most specimens) or partly reduced. The secondary protonephridial system, however, began developing more or less simultaneously with the integumental hooklets, the cercomer and the first calcareous bodies, which is in accordance with what is described concerning Diphyllobothrium. The ciliated, excretory bladder described by Rosen in 1919 was found to be a posteriorly open invagination, surrounding the “cercomer shaft”. Reverse bends of the posterior main canals of the secondary system are located closely around the wall of, though very likely not emptying into this invagination.  相似文献
