The flavonoid patterns in Hazardia species support species delimitations and relationships based on morphology and geography. The compounds thus far elucidated are glycosides of quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, luteolin, and apigenin, glycoflavones of apigenin, and methoxylated flavonol aglycones.  相似文献

Non-anthocyanin flavonoid expression was determined among 64 continuous range and nine disjunct range populations of Phlox carolina. The species contains four flavone nuclei and a total of 25 derivatives, most of which are C-glycosides. Nearly all populations express unique flavone patterns. Using a qualitative similarity index of minimum biosynthetic step distance (MBSD), the average population contains only ca. 50% of the overall substitutional diversity. The separate ranges are distinctive in the % occurrence of most compounds but only weakly divergent in comparative mean MBSD. Proximity and MBSD are significantly correlated overall but local variability is extensive and no discrete racism is apparent. Within the continuous range 18 compounds are distributed in independent but overlapping gradients and 13 of these extend consistently through the disjunct range. The patch-work continuum of flavone variation is the apparent consequence of dissection and contraction of a historically more widespread distribution. Other general aspects of the variation patterns are discussed.  相似文献

Over 20 taxa of the genus Partenium (Compositae) representing four sections or five ecological groupings from throughout the Americas, were examined for sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids and alkaloids. The tropical thorn-forest, arborescent members (sect. Parthenichaeta) were found to contain three different sesquiterpene lactone types and derivatives of the flavonols; quercetin, kaempferol and quercetagetin. The desert shrubs were remarkable for their high production of methylated quercetagetin flavonols and alkaloids, but lacked any appreciable amounts of sesquiterpene lactones. The temperate, submontane perennials (sect. Bolophytum), contained lactones and flavonols in extremely low concentrations. The herbaceous annuals (sect. Argyrochaeta) contained pseudoguaianolides only and together with quercetin, and kaempferol O-glycosides. The herbaceous perennials contained twice as many lactones and flavonoids as the annuals. It is suggested that the ecogeographical distribution of secondary products in Parthenium is probably a result of adaptive responses to various physical and biotic factors (herbivore pressure) in the environment.  相似文献

The flavonol glycosides of quercetin, isorhamnetin and kaempferol were isolated from Zea mays pollen. The most prominent flavonols were diglycosides of quercetin and isorhamnetin. Flavonol 3-O-glucosides of quercetin, isorhamnetin and kaempferol, and triglucosides of quercetin and isorhamnetin, were minor components. The flavonoid pattern of maize pollen is characterized by the accumulation of quercetin and isorhamnetin diglycosides and by the absence of flavones, which are common in other maize tissues.  相似文献

Eight flavonol glycosides were detected in the three species of theFagonia sinaica complex. They were fully characterized as the 3-glucosides of kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin, 3-rutinoside of quercetin and 3,7-diglucoside of quercetin and isorhamnetin. Two additional glycosides were partially characterized as a kaempferol 3,7-diglycoside and quercetin 3-diglycoside.  相似文献

An investigation of methanolic extract of Warburgia stuhlmannii leaves has led to the isolation of two new drimane-type sesquiterpene glycosides characterized as mukaadial 6-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, mukaadial 6-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside together with two other novel flavonol glycosides identified as 3',5'-O-dimethylmyricetin 3-O-beta-D-2",3"-diacetylglucopyranoside and 3'-O-methylquercetin 3-O-beta-D-2",3",4"-triacetylglucopyranoside. The known compounds; mukaadial, deacetylugandensolide, quercetin, kaempferol, kaempferol 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside, quercetin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, kaempferol 7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, myricetin 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside, quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside, quercetin 3-O-sophoroside and isorhamnetin 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside were also isolated from the same extract.  相似文献

Mayaca is an aquatic monocot of the monogeneric family Mayacaceae. The flavonol glycosides quercetin 3-O-glucoside, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, and kaempferol 3-O-glucoside, and the flavone luteolin 5-O-glucoside were found in methanolic leaf extracts. The presence of flavonol and flavone O-glycosides sets the Mayacaceae apart from the Commelinaceae, which accumulates predominantly flavone C-glycosides.  相似文献

Identification of the phenolic constituents in flowers of nine palm species has revealed that charged C-glycosylflavones and caffeylshikimic acid are characteristically present. Flavonol glycosides are also common; the 3-glucosides, 3-rutinosides and 3,4′-diglucosides of quercetin and isorhamnetin and the 7-glucoside and 3,7-diglucoside of quercetin are all variously present. Tricin 7-glucoside, luteolin 7-rutinoside and several unchanged C-glycosylflavones were also detected. Male flowers of Phoenix canariensis differ from female flowers in having flavonol glycosides. As expected, in most species studied, flavonoid patterns in the flowers vary considerably from those found in the leaves.  相似文献

Flavonoids were isolated by PVPP column chromatography of leaf extracts of Croton floribundus Spreng and C. urucurana Baill. and identified by NMR and co-chromatography with standards. The two species revealed highly distinct flavonoid profiles. C. urucurana, belonging to the phylogenetically basal section Cyclostigma, yielded the flavone C-glycosides vitexin and orientin, quercetin and the O-glycosides quercetin 7-O-rhamnoside, rhamnitrin and rutin, in addition to tiliroside. Instead, C. floribundus, from the more derived section Lasiogyne, yielded no C-glycosides, but a high diversity of classes of flavonols, including kaempferol, three flavonol O-methyl ethers, isoquercitrin, three tri-O-galactosides, in addition to tiliroside and an isorhamnetin-coumaroyl-O-glycoside. The present work is the first report for Croton of two rhamnosides (isolated from C. urucurana). It is also the first report for Euphorbiaceae of two tri-O-glycosides obtained from C. floribundus. The distribution of flavonoids in the two species as determined by HPLC-DAD of extracts of small leaf samples of herbarium specimens is highly similar with the profiles resulting from isolation of compounds from bulky leaf samples. Differences among specimens of the same species were restricted to relative proportions of individual constituents. The results indicate that flavonoid profiles are effective to characterize and distinguish the two species. The present results, combined with literature data, supports the condition of tiliroside as a marker of Croton and the hypothesis of an evolutionary trend in the genus toward the loss of C-glycosides and a progressive complexity of flavonoid profiles.  相似文献

Thirty-one accessions of nine species belonging to three subgenera of Ocimum (basil, family Lamiaceae) were surveyed for flavonoid glycosides. Substantial infraspecific differences in flavonoid profiles of the leaves were found only in O. americanum, where var. pilosum accumulated the flavone C-glycoside, vicenin-2, which only occurred in trace amounts in var. americanum and was not detected in cv. Sacred. The major flavonoids in var. americanum and cv. Sacred, and also in all other species investigated for subgenus Ocimum, were flavonol 3-O-glucosides and 3-O-rutinosides. Many species in subgenus Ocimum also produced the more unusual compound, quercetin 3-O-(6″-O-malonyl)glucoside, and small amounts of flavone O-glycosides. The level of flavonol glycosides produced was reduced significantly in glasshouse-grown plants, but levels of flavone glycosides were unaffected. A single species investigated from subgenus Nautochilus, O. lamiifolium, had a different flavonoid glycoside profile, although the major compound was also a flavonol O-glycoside. This was identified as quercetin 3-O-xylosyl(1‴→2″)galactoside, using NMR spectroscopy. The species investigated from subgenus Gymnocimum, O. tenuiflorum (=O. sanctum), was characterised by the accumulation of flavone O-glycosides. These were isolated, and identified as the 7-O-glucuronides of luteolin and apigenin. Luteolin 5-O-glucoside was found in all nine species of Ocimum studied, and is considered to be a key character for the genus.  相似文献

A new flavonol glycoside, rhamnocitrin 3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside, has been isolated from aerial parts of Anthyllis onobrychioides, together with the known 3-O-β-D-galactopyranosides of quercetin, isorhamnetin and kaempferol.  相似文献

Twenty-five flavonoid glycosides were detected in Tribulus pentandrus and T. terrestris. The glycosides belong to the common flavonols, kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin, with the 3-gentiobiosides as the major glycosides. Traces of a flavone (tricin) glycoside was also present in T. pentandrus. The separation of Tribulaceae as a distinct family from Zygophyllaceae is discussed.  相似文献

In a survey of the higher plants for families with rosmarinic acid-accumulating species we could show for the first time, that some species of the family Marantaceae of the order Zingiberales accumulate rosmarinic acid. Other compounds detected in Marantaceae are chlorogenic acid and rutin (quercetin 3-O-rutinoside). Out of 35 species coming from 9 different genera extracted and analysed, two species of Maranta (Maranta leuconeura, Maranta depressa) and one Thalia species (Thalia geniculata) showed the presence of rosmarinic acid. The two Maranta species additionally contained chlorogenic acid, which was also present in Stromanthe amabilis. Rutin was detected in the genera Calathea, Ctenanthe, Maranta, Pleiostachya and Thalia. For a comparison, species from six other families of the Zingiberales were analysed as well.  相似文献

Eleven flavonoids including three new glycosides were isolated from Brickellia chlorolepis and one new and nine known flavonoids were obtained from B. dentata. The new glycosides from B. chlorolepis are 6-methoxykaempferol 3-rhamnoglucoside, spinacetin 3-rhamnogalactoside and veronicafolin 3-rhamnoglucoside. The known compounds identified from B. chlorolepis are patuletin, casticin, artemetin, eupatolitin 3-galactoside, quercetin 3-rhamnogalactoside, rutin, isorhamnetin 3-galactoside and eupatin 3-SO3Ca12. B. dentata contains the new glycoside eupalitin 3-galactoside and nine known compounds: pectolinarigenin, salvigenin, eupafolin, cirsiliol, eupatorin, eupatolitin, eupatolitin 3-glucoside, eupatolitin 3-galactoside and eupatin.  相似文献

The present study investigated the in vitro effect of Ginkgo biloba extracts and some of the individual constituents (ginkgolides, bilobalide, and flavonols such as kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, and their glycosides) on CYP1A-mediated 7-ethoxyresorufin O-dealkylation in hepatic microsomes isolated from rats induced with beta-naphthoflavone. G. biloba extract competitively inhibited CYP1A activity, with an apparent Ki value of 1.6 +/- 0.4 microg/mL (mean +/- SE). At the concentrations present in the G. biloba extracts, ginkgolides A, B, C, and J and bilobalide did not affect CYP1A activity, whereas kaempferol (IC50 = 0.006 +/- 0.001 microg/mL, mean +/- SE), isorhamnetin (0.007 +/- 0.001 microg/mL), and quercetin (0.050 +/- 0.003 microg/mL) decreased this activity. The monoglycosides (1 and 10 microg/mL) and diglycosides (10 microg/mL) of kaempferol and quercetin but not those of isorhamnetin also inhibited CYP1A activity. The order of inhibitory potency was kaempferol approximately equal to isorhamnetin > quercetin, and for each of these flavonols the order of potency was aglycone > monoglycoside > diglycoside. In summary, G. biloba extract competitively inhibited rat hepatic microsomal CYP1A activity, but the effect was not due to ginkgolides A, B, C, or J, bilobalide, kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, or the respective flavonol monoglycosides or diglycosides.  相似文献

We have isolated and identified seven flavonoid compounds from the foliar extracts ofHeloniopsis orientalis, a member of Liliaceae, which is habituated at Namhansanseong and Maranggol (Jinburyung). All are glycosylated derivatives of the flavonols isorhamnetin, kaempferol, and quercetin. Among them, quercetin 3-O-galactoside is the major compound, while isorhamnetin 3-O-arabinosylgalactoside, isorhamnetin 3-O-digalactoside, kaempferol 3,7-O-galactoside, kaempferol 3-O-arabinosylgalactoside, kaempferol 3-O-glycoside, and quercetin 3-O-arabinosylgalactoside are present in smaller amounts. Although the two populations do not differ significantly in their overall flavonol profiles, their relative amounts indicate that flavonoid levels, especially for isorhamnetin, are geographically controlled and specifically depend on the origin of the individual population.  相似文献
