The acceptance of camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) as a host plant for the larvae of common bluebottle (Graphium sarpedon nipponum) was explained by the presence of feeding stimulants in the leaves. When the active methanol extract of C. camphora leaves was separated into hexane and water layers, both layers showed high feeding activities for the larvae of G. sarpedon nipponum. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the hexane layer resulted in the isolation of a highly active compound, which was identified as a-linolenic acid by nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. 相似文献

Cinnamomum camphora is an excellent tree species for construction of forest construction of Henan Province, China. The diverse bioactive components of nano-catalyzed pyrolyzates form cold-acclimated C. camphora branch (CCB) in North China were explored. The raw powder of CCB treated with nano-catalyst (Ag, NiO, 1/2Ag + 1/2NiO) were pyrolyzed at two temperatures (550 °C and 700 °C), respectively. The main pyrolyzates are bioactive components of bioenergy, biomedicines, food additive, spices, cosmetics and chemical, whose total relative contents at 550 °C pyrolyzates are higher than those at 700 °C pyrolyzates. There are abundant components of spices and biomedicine at 550 °C pyrolyzates, while more spices and food additive at 700 °C pyrolyzates. At 550 °C, the content of biomedicine components reaches the highest by 1/2Ag + 1/2NiO nanocatalysis, while the contents of spices and food additive components reach the highest by NiO nanocatalysis. At 700 °C, the content of bioenergy components reaches the highest by 1/2Ag + 1/2NiO nanocatalysis, and the content of cosmetics components reaches the highest by Ag nanocatalysis. The findings suggested that the branch of the cold-acclimated C. camphora have the potential to develop into valued-added products of bioenergy, biomedicine, cosmetics, spices and food additive by nanocatalysis. 相似文献

We examined the responses of oriental fruit flies, Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, to the odors of different stages and types of fruit presented on potted trees in a field cage. Females were most attracted to odors of soft, ripe fruit. Odors of common guava were more attractive to females than papaya and starfruit, and equally as attractive as strawberry guava, orange, and mango. In field tests, McPhail traps baited with mango, common guava, and orange captured equal numbers of females. Traps baited with mango were compared with 2 commercially available fruit fly traps. McPhail traps baited with mango captured more females than visual fruit-mimicking sticky traps (Ladd traps) and equal numbers of females as McPhail traps baited with protein odors. Results from this study indicate that host fruit volatiles could be used as lures for capturing oriental fruit flies in orchards. 相似文献

本文研究了以香樟叶为原料,采用索氏提取器提取粗香樟油的最佳条件。选用6种有机溶剂分别作提取剂,每10g樟叶加溶剂90mL,提取60min,提取两次,由粗樟油得率,确定最佳溶剂为无水乙醇;用无水乙醇进行正交实验,确定出最佳提取条件为无水乙醇110mL,提取100min,粒度1cm左右,连续提取两次。在这个条件下进行验证实验,其粗樟油得率为25.04%。 相似文献

对分布在福建省不同地区的樟树〔C innam omum camphora(L.)Presl〕叶油含量和主要化学成分进行分析,结果表明,J3(118°16′~119°29′)和W 1(28°18′~27°30′)交叉区域芳樟叶油含量(1.90%±0.30%)和芳樟醇含量(95.34%±1.10%)较高,可作为优良芳樟选育的重点区域;J2(117°03′~118°16′)和W 3(26°42′~25°54′)交叉区域桉樟叶油含量(1.36%±0.48%)和1,8-桉叶油素含量(10.44%±17.28%)较高,可以作为优良桉樟选育的重点区域。J2和W 2(27°30′~26°42′)交叉区域樟脑叶油含量(1.13%±0.65%)和樟脑含量(4.80%±13.97%)较高,可以作为优良脑樟选育的重点区域;J4(119°29′~120°43′)和W 6(24°18′~23°31′)交叉区域黄樟叶油含量(1.05%±0.34%)和黄樟油素含量(9.01%±16.73%)较高,可以作为优良黄樟选育的重点区域。樟树叶油含量和主成分类型及含量呈明显的地理分布。 相似文献

We compared soil-to-leaf hydraulic conductance (G T), hydraulic conductivity and water-relations characteristics of leaves between reiterated axes (produced by sprouting of suppressed buds) and sequential axes (produced by elongation of terminal buds) on the same branch to investigate how basal reiteration affected the hydraulic architecture of mature Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Sieb. trees. Given similar light conditions, G T was higher for leaves on reiterated shoots than for those on sequential shoots. However, where leaves on sequential shoots received more light, G T was similar to that of leaves on reiterated shoots, suggesting that some compensatory mechanism worked to increase hydraulic conductance to the more distal sequential shoots, which have higher potential for carbon gain. Both xylem- and leaf-specific conductivities were higher for reiterated than sequential shoots. Pressure–volume measurements indicated that leaves on reiterated shoots were more vulnerable to water stress, suggesting that they developed under favorable water status. Because basal reiteration occurs on lower-order branch axes, reiterated shoots have better connectivity to higher conducting xylem and this may contribute to favorable water status. As trees grow larger, hydraulic pathlength and hydraulic resistance both increase as numbers of branch junctions and nodes increase. Our results suggest that basal reiteration improves the hydraulic functional status of mature C. camphora trees by shortening the hydraulic pathway and increasing hydraulic conductance to transpiring leaves. 相似文献

樟树[Cinnamomum camphora(L.)Pres]叶油中的许多化学成分有广泛而重要的用途。有研究表明,由于长期受个体发育、系统发育、生殖隔离及生态环境的作用,樟树不同种群和个体之间精油的化学成分差异较大,有必要对樟树不同居群和不同个体精油的化学成分及其含量进行系统的研究。作者以分布在福建省内的樟树为调查对象,利用GC—MS法系统测定福建樟树叶油的化学成分及其含量,为樟树叶油化学成分的挖掘、开发利用和樟树的良种选育提供科学依据。 相似文献

The surface ultra-structural features of the coloured patches on the wing of a butterfly Graphium sarpedon have been studied with the help of scanning electron microscopy. Comparisons have been made between the dark brown area and the light green patches of the wing. A diffraction grating pattern with 15 lines per μm2 with a uniform spacing of about 1 μm is present in the light green patches. A slightly coarser grating is present on the dark brown area, which constitutes the major portion of the wing. Sensilla chaetica was found on both the light green and dark brown area. A special type of sensilla trichodea with a big socket and some elongated projections were localized only on the light green patches. This region of the wing also contains some spherical structures with a diameter of 0.5 to 0.6 μm. The infra-red spectroscopy has revealed some differences in the nature and position of the peaks in the low-energy region in the dark brown area and the light green patches. The atomic absorption spectroscopy also shows qualitative as well as quantitative differences in the inorganic set up of the two regions. The electron spin resonance spectroscopy reveals the presence of a peak in the dark brown region only, indicating the presence of free radical in it. The differences observed in the ultra-structural and spectroscopical features, and also in the inorganic components of the two regions, are discussed in relation to their physical and physiological properties. 相似文献

Social insect colonies contain attractive resources for many organisms. Cleptoparasites sneak into their nests and steal food resources. Social parasites sneak into their social organisations and exploit them for reproduction. Both cleptoparasites and social parasites overcome the ability of social insects to detect intruders, which is mainly based on chemoreception. Here we compared the chemical strategies of social parasites and cleptoparasites that target the same host and analyse the implication of the results for the understanding of nestmate recognition mechanisms. The social parasitic wasp Polistes atrimandibularis (Hymenoptera: Vespidae), and the cleptoparasitic velvet ant Mutilla europaea (Hymenoptera: Mutillidae), both target the colonies of the paper wasp Polistes biglumis (Hymenoptera: Vespidae). There is no chemical mimicry with hosts in the cuticular chemical profiles of velvet ants and pre-invasion social parasites, but both have lower concentrations of recognition cues (chemical insignificance) and lower proportions of branched alkanes than their hosts. Additionally, they both have larger proportions of alkenes than their hosts. In contrast, post-invasion obligate social parasites have proportions of branched hydrocarbons as large as those of their hosts and their overall cuticular profiles resemble those of their hosts. These results suggest that the chemical strategies for evading host detection vary according to the lifestyles of the parasites. Cleptoparasites and pre-invasion social parasites that sneak into host colonies limit host overaggression by having few recognition cues, whereas post-invasion social parasites that sneak into their host social structure facilitate social integration by chemical mimicry with colony members. 相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Domatia are small organs usually found in the axils of major veins on the underside of leaves and, although they have received wide attention from ecologists, few detailed reports exist on their anatomy or development. This study is focused on the domatia of Cinnamomum camphora (Lauraceae) and is the first comparative study on the anatomy and development of the different shapes of domatia within a single plant. METHODS: Four types of domatia in C. camphora leaves were observed on paraffin sections under a microscope. KEY RESULTS: The domatia consisted of six histological parts: the upper epidermis, the upper mesophyll tissue, spongy tissue, the lower mesophyll tissue, the tissue filling the rim opening, and the lower epidermis. They differed from the non-domatial lamina mainly in the cell structure of the upper and lower mesophyll tissue and the rim tissue. Differences in domatium shapes were mainly associated with differences in the structure of the upper mesophyll and in the number and size of the rim tissue cells. Differences in the development of domatium types were observed in terms of initiation timing, differentiation of the upper mesophyll cells and degree of rim tissue development. CONCLUSIONS: In domatia, active anticlinal division in the lower mesophyll cells, as compared with the upper mesophyll cells, was coordinated with dynamic growth of rim tissue cells and resulted in cavity formation. The anatomical or developmental differences among the four types of domatia were related to the positions of the domatia within a leaf. In terms of the ecological implications, the major anatomical difference between the domatia used by herbivorous and carnivorous mites was in the development of the rim tissue. 相似文献

Aphytis melinus DeBach (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is a biological control agent of diaspidid scale insects. The parasitoid has a narrow host range but its hosts are polyphagous. We determined the source of volatile cues the wasp uses to locate its few host species when those hosts occur on more than one host plant species. We addressed four questions in regard to the use of volatile cues in host location of California red scale, Aonidiella aurantii (Maskell) (Homoptera: Diaspididae): (1) Does A. melinus use volatile cues to assist in host location? (2) Are these cues innately recognized or learned? (3) Are cues produced by female California red scale, or from other sources? (4) Are the cues specific to the host or host plant? These questions were tested through the use of a Y-tube olfactometer. Female A. melinus used volatile cues to orient toward both infested and uninfested host plant material. Wasps learned these cues by associating odors from the host plant with host presence. They had no innate preferences for scale insect or host plant volatile stimuli. Contrary to previous studies, we found no evidence of orientation toward the female-produced sex pheromone of California red scale, nor to volatile cues from the attacked host stage. Wasps given experience with scale insects growing on lemon fruit subsequently oriented toward lemon and orange fruit and leaves. The scale species with which the wasp was given experience did not affect this preference. Wasps given experience with California red scale growing on squash did not orient toward infested lemon fruit. The host ranges of the parasitoid and its hosts are used to explain the adaptive value for the evolution of learned rather than fixed responses to cues used in foraging behavior. 相似文献

Sex attractants were established for one Brachodidae, three Choreutidae and two Tineidae moth species during field screening tests with (2E,13Z)-octadecadien-1-al, (2E,13Z)-, (3E,13Z)-, (3Z,13Z)-octadecadien-1-ols and their acetates (2E,13Z-18:Ald, 2E,13Z-, 3E,13Z-, 3Z,13Z-18:OH/OAc) as well as of binary mixtures of these compounds in West-Kazakhstan and Lithuania. Males of Brachodes appendiculata were attracted by 3E,13Z-18:OAc, Prochoreutis ultimana and P. myllerana by 2E,13Z-18:OH, Monopis palidella by 2E,13Z-18:Ald and Triaxomera fulvimitrella by binary mixtures of 3Z,13Z-18:OAc with either 3E,13Z-18:OH in the ratio of 5:5 or 3Z,13Z-18:OH in the ratio of 9:1 (v/v). The 3-component mixture composed of 2E,13Z-18:OH, 3Z,13Z-18:OH and 2E,13Z-18:Ald in the ratio 1:1:1 was developed to attract Prochoreutis sehestediana males.
