Trace heavy metals such as Cr(III), Ni(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), and Cu(II) are hazardous pollutants and are rich in areas with high anthropogenic activities. Their concentrations were analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy, and it was found that their concentrations were several fold higher in downstream Swan River water samples of the Kahuta Industrial Triangle as compared to upstream. Heavy metal soil concentrations taken from the downstream site were 149% for Cr, 131% for Ni, 176% for Cd, 139% for Zn, 224% for Pb, and 182% for Cu when compared to samples from the upstream site. Quantitative analysis concluded that these metals were higher in milk samples collected from downstream as compared to the samples from upstream water-irrigated sites. The order of metal in milk was as Zn > Cr > Cu > Cd > Pb = Ni. Heavy metal contaminations may affect the drinking water quality, food chain, and ecological environment. It was also suggested that the toxicity due to such polluted water, soil, and milk are seriously dangerous to human health in future.  相似文献

The study of the concentrations of Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cu in soils under different land uses in rural, semi-urban, and urban zones in the Niger Delta was carried out with a view to providing information on the effects of the different land uses on the concentrations of trace elements in soils. Our results indicate significant variability in concentrations of these metals in soils under different land uses in rural, semi-urban, and urban zones. The maximum concentrations of metals in the examined soil samples were 707.5 mg.kg?1, 161.0 mg.kg?1, 2.6 mg.kg?1, 59.6 mg.kg?1, 1061.3 mg.kg?1, and 189.2 mg.kg?1 for Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cu, respectively. In the rural zone, the cassava processing mill is a potent source of Ni, Cr, Cu, and Zn while agricultural activities are a source of Cd, and automobile emissions and the use of lead oxide batteries constitute the major sources of Pb. In the urban zone, soils around the wood processing mill showed elevated concentrations of Cu, Cr, Zn, and Ni, while soils around automobile mechanic works and motor parks showed elevated levels of Pb. Elevated Cd concentrations were observed in soils under the following land uses: urban motor park, playground, welding and fabrication sheds, and metallic scrap dump. The contamination/pollution index of metals in the soil follows the order: Ni > Cd > Cr > Zn > Cu > Pb. The multiple pollution index of metals at different sites were greater than 1, indicating that these soils fit into “slight pollution” to “excessive pollution” ranges with significant contributions from Cr, Zn, Cd, Ni, and Cu.  相似文献

Twenty‐two honeybee (Apis mellifera) colonies were placed in four different cornfield areas in order to study the potential in situ effects of seed‐coated systemic neonicotinoid pesticides used in cornfields (Zea mays spp) on honeybee health. Two apiaries were located in two independent neonicotinoid‐treated cornfield areas and two others in two independent untreated cornfield areas used as controls. These experimental hives were extensively monitored for their performance and health traits over a period of one year. Trapped pollen was collected and microscopically identified to define the visited flowers and the amount of corn pollen collected by bees. Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry was performed to detect pesticide residues in honeybee foragers and trapped pollen. Honeybee colonies located in neonicotinoid‐treated cornfields expressed significantly higher varroa mite loads than those in untreated cornfields. However, brood production and colony weight were less disturbed by the treatment factor. Sublethal doses of neonicotinoids were detected in the trapped corn pollen and none in bee foragers. Overall, our results show that forager bees collected 20% of corn pollen containing variable concentrations of neonicotinoids. Colonies located in treated cornfields expressed higher varroa loads and long‐term mortality than those in untreated cornfields. On the other hand, no significant differences were observed regarding the brood production and colony weight.  相似文献

Northeast China is an intensive area of resource-exhausted city, which is facing the challenges of industry conversion and sustainable development. In order to evaluate the soil environmental quality influenced by mining activities over decades, the concentration and spatial distribution of arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), and Zinc (Zn) in surface soils (0-20cm) of a typical resource-exhausted city were investigated by analyzing 306 soil samples. The results showed that the average concentrations in the samples were 6.17 mg/kg for As, 0.19 mg/kg for Cd, 51.08 mg/kg for Cr, 23.27 mg/kg for Cu, 31.15 mg/kg for Ni, 22.17 mg/kg for Pb, and 54.21 mg/kg for Zn. Metals distribution maps produced by using the inverse distance weighted interpolation method and results revealed that all investigated metals showed distinct geographical patterns, and the concentrations were higher in urban and industrial areas than in farmland. Pearson correlation and principal component analysis showed that there were significant positive correlations (p<0.05) between all of the metals, and As, Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn were closely associated with the first principal component (PC1), which explained 39.81% of the total variance. Cu and As were mainly associated with the second component (PC2). Based on the calculated Nemerow pollution index, percentage for slightly polluted (1<P ≤ 2) surface soils were reached 57.33%, while 42.65% topsoil samples are moderate polluted (2<P≤ 3). According to the results above-mentioned, different soil environmental function areas were classified and proper soil environmental management policy was proposed to decrease the environmental risks in the process of industrial city transformation.  相似文献

Dredging, remediation, and other management of sediment in polluted urban wetlands require the information of environmental risks associated with heavy metals (HMs). In this study, sediment samples collected from three typical wetlands in the urban area of Wenzhou City, China, were analyzed to evaluate their risks posed by five HMs. Sediments from an industrial area stored higher Cr and Cu but lower Cd and Pb than those from the residential and agricultural areas. The assessment by the pollution load index method indicated that all of the three study wetlands were polluted. An ecological risk index approach identified low risk for wetlands in forested and residential areas but high risk for wetlands in an industrial area as well as in mixed residential and agricultural area, which was also confirmed by the geo-accumulation index (Igeo) method. Furthermore, the ratio of the secondary phase and primary phase and risk assessment code methods recognized that Cd poses a high pollution risk. The results indicated that sediment pollution by HMs in urban wetlands is possibly a widespread problem in China and needs great attention.  相似文献

应用原子吸收法对上海市13个样点的小羽藓植物体及相应土壤样品中的Cu、Pb、Cd、Zn、Cr 5种重金属元素含量进行了测定.通过对植物体内含量的聚类分析,将13个样点按重金属污染程度的轻重分为3个组:1)污染严重点,包括桂林公园、复兴公园、光启公园3个样点,均位于市区交通繁忙地带,其小羽藓体内重金属含量分别为:Cu 35.25~50.36 mg·kg-1、Pb 55.50~65.00 mg·kg-1、Cd 1.68~2.30 mg·kg-1、Zn 829.63~1140.13 mg·kg-1、Cr 7.41~16.41 mg·kg-1;2)污染点,包括长风公园、古钟园、中山公园、和平公园、上海师范大学徐汇校区5个样点,均位于市区近郊,小羽藓体内重金属含量分别为:Cu 18.51~62.50 mg·kg-1、Pb 14.38~34.25 mg·kg-1、Cd 0.81~1.40 mg·kg-1、Zn 354.25~671.75 mg·kg-1、Cr 3.62~25.08 mg·kg-1;3)相对清洁点,包括佘山、大观园、罗泾、植物园、崇明东平国家森林公园5个样点,位于上海市远郊,小羽藓体内重金属含量分别为:Cu 11.13~16.41 mg·kg-1、Pb 4.63~27.25 mg·kg-1、Cd 0.93~1.28 mg·kg-1、Zn 489.25~1 086.75 mg·kg-1、Cr 1.53~7.62 mg·kg-1.结果表明,小羽藓属苔藓植物可作为监测上海地区环境重金属污染的良好指示植物.苔藓植物体内重金属含量水平与土壤重金属含量存在一定的相关性,而且也受其他因素的影响.  相似文献

This study aimed to investigate the pollution of heavy metals in the sediments of park lakes in Guangzhou, which is a large city with rapid urbanization, industrialization, and dense population in South China. Thirty-two surface sediment samples were collected from seven lakes in different districts of this city. The concentrations and distributions of Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb were measured to assess the level of enrichment and toxicity in the sediments. The enrichment factor showed that Pb and Zn showed severe enrichment in all lakes except for the Dafu Shan Forest Park (DFS), and the geo-accumulation index (Igeo) showed that all lakes were polluted with Cu, Pb, Cd, Ni, and Zn in different levels. The results of risk assessment indicated that the DFS located in the suburbs represented moderate risks; however, other lakes in the city central represented high or very high risks. Moreover, Cd had the primary contribution to the risk of the sediments' environment in urban lakes. Multivariate statistical analyses are carried out to explore the correlativity between heavy metals and human development indices. This study indicated that the levels of heavy metals' contamination and ecological risk of urban lakes in Guangzhou have a close relationship with anthropogenic activities.  相似文献

In recent years, heavy metal contamination in suburban vegetable soils calls for significant concerns due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization. In present study, 110 suburban vegetable soil samples from Yanbian, Northeast China, were collected. Concentration characteristics, pollution level, health risk, and source identification were evaluated by using different quantitative indices. Concentrations of Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Cd, and As in suburban soils were measured. Mean concentrations of Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn Cd, and As were 34.9 ± 10.5, 73.5 ± 44.4, 29.6 ± 19.4, 23.4 ± 12.0, 88.5 ± 26.7, 0.16 ± 0.16, and 9.24 ± 3.79 mg/kg, which were showed significantly higher than corresponding background values of Jilin province, respectively. The soils were moderately heavy polluted by Cu and Cd based on the results of geo-accumulated index and pollution indices. The pollution load index indicated that almost all of the study area were middle or heavy polluted, especially in Antu County and Helong City. Children in Yanbian may pose non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks with the major exposure pathway of ingestion. Principle component analysis results suggested that Pb, Cu, Zn, and Cd were mainly associated with agricultural activities, Ni and Cr were defined as combined source (lithogenic and anthropogenic), and As was tended to be from excessive application of pesticides and industrial activities.  相似文献

对淮南市污染区(矿区)和对照区(相对清洁区)空气中TSP、PM10-100、PM5-10、PM2.5-5和PM2.5的日均质量浓度进行了测定,并对TSP中Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni、Pb和Zn的质量浓度和二球悬铃木〔Platanus×acerifolia(Ait.)Willd.〕叶片中Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni、Pb和Zn含量的动态变化进行了分析,同时对二球悬铃木叶片中重金属含量与TSP中重金属质量浓度和各类空气颗粒物日均质量浓度的相关性进行了分析。结果表明:在60 d采样期内,空气颗粒物日均质量浓度和叶片中重金属含量均呈波动的变化趋势,其中污染区空气中TSP和PM2.5的日均质量浓度均显著高于对照区,污染区PM10-100、PM5-10和PM2.5-5日均质量浓度总体上低于对照区;污染区空气TSP中6种重金属元素的质量浓度均高于对照区,污染区二球悬铃木叶片中的Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni和Zn含量均高于对照区但Pb含量低于对照区。相关性分析结果表明:污染区二球悬铃木叶片中重金属含量与空气TSP中重金属质量浓度多数呈正相关,叶片中重金属含量与空气中PM2.5日均质量浓度也均呈正相关,其中叶片中Cd含量与PM2.5日均质量浓度的相关性达显著水平。研究结果表明:在淮南矿区,可将二球悬铃木叶片中的重金属含量作为空气PM2.5污染状况的监测指标。  相似文献

以苏南某农药工业园区周边30km2区域为研究区,采用同心圆法采集土壤样品183个,分析了农药工业园区周边土壤Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni、Pb、Zn、Hg和As8种重金属含量、空间变异性、来源及潜在风险.结果表明:以自然背景值为评价标准,研究区表层土壤Hg、Cu、Cd和Pb平均含量超过自然背景值,其中Hg和Cu含量最高;以国标二级标准为评价标准,土壤Cd、Cr、Ni、Pb、Zn、As6种重金属的单项污染指数平均值均小于1,Hg和Cu分别为1.59和1.05.在农药工业园区周边土壤重金属污染较重的东南方向和西北方向,随着与园区距离的增加,土壤Cd、Ni、Pb、Cr、As、Hg、Zn和Cu含量先上升、后下降、再趋于平稳.通过分析农药工业园区周边土壤重金属综合污染指数发现,距离园区约200~1000m周边土壤污染的风险较大,而1000m以外逐渐达到安全范围.利用地统计学和GIS相结合进行分析发现,8种重金属污染指数有明显的空间变异.依据相关分析与主成分分析结果推测,Zn、Ni、Cr、Pb和As主要来源于成土母质,而Hg、Cu和Cd主要与人类活动有关.  相似文献

Age-related division of labor in honeybees is associated with plasticity in circadian rhythms. Young nest bees care for brood around the clock with no circadian rhythms while older foragers have strong circadian rhythms that are used for sun compass navigation and for timing visits to flowers. Since juvenile hormone (JH) is involved in the coordination of physiological and behavioral processes underlying age-related division of labor in honey bees, we tested the hypothesis that JH influences the ontogeny of circadian rhythms and other clock parameters in young worker bees. Treatments with the JH analog methoprene or allatectomy did not influence the onset of rhythmicity, overall locomotor activity, or the free-running period of rhythmic locomotor behavior. There were, however, significant differences in the onset of rhythmicity, overall locomotor activity, and longevity between bees from different source colonies, suggesting that there is significant genetic variation for these traits. Our results suggest that JH does not coordinate all aspects of division of labor in bees and that coordination of task performance with circadian rhythms is probably mediated by other regulatory systems.  相似文献

在对广州市花都城区绿地土壤取样调查的基础上,采用全国第二次土壤普查养分分级标准和内梅罗污染指数法等对其土壤肥力和重金属污染情况进行分析评价,揭示花都城区绿地土壤存在的问题。结果表明,花都城区绿地土壤容重变幅在1.25~1.75 g·cm–3之间,孔隙度变幅在30.81%~47.42%之间,pH在6.16~7.68之间,有机质含量在四级及以下标准,严重缺乏氮素和磷素。不同绿地类型中,厂区路旁绿地土壤重金属污染最严重,其次为主干道两侧绿地;研究区As污染最严重,Pb次之,未受Zn污染,存在不同程度的Cu、Cd、Cr、Ni、Hg污染。相关性分析表明,土壤pH与全钾、碱解氮含量极显著相关,有机质与全氮极显著相关,全氮、全磷分别与碱解氮、有效磷显著正相关,全钾与碱解氮显著负相关;重金属元素中,Cu与Zn、Cr、Ni极显著相关,Zn与Cu、Pb、Cd、Cr、Ni极显著相关,Pb与Zn、Cd极显著相关,Cr与Cu、Zn、Ni极显著相关,As和Hg与其他重金属元素均无显著相关性。  相似文献

Twenty five water samples were collected along the Taizihe River, the concentration and health risks of Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr and Cd were detected and evaluated, and the pollution sources was analyzed through principal components analyses. The results indicated that the order of average concentration of heavy metals was follows: Pb > Cr > Cu > Zn and Cd. Among that, the concentrations of Zn, Cu and Cr were at the permissible levels, but Pb and Cd exceeded grade V standard at some sites. The concentrations of Zn and Cu in the wet season were significant higher than that in the dry season (p < 0.05), but the average concentrations of Pb, Cr and Cd were not significantly different in the two seasons (p > 0.05). The annual average risks of human health caused by Cd and Cr were 10−3/a and 10−4/a, respectively, which were higher than the recommended maximum acceptable risk level. The human health risk values of Zn, Pb and Cu were all concentrated at 10−8/a or 10−9/a levels, which did not exceed the recommended standard. On the whole, Cd and Cr were the main health risk pollutants of Taizihe River. Pollution sources of Pb was different from other heavy metals in wet and dry season, Cd and Cr were similar in the wet and dry season. The mainly pollution source of heavy metals was industry, especially mining, metal smelting and electroplating industry.  相似文献

The issue of heavy metal pollution is of high concern due to its potential health risks and detrimental effects on human beings, animals, and plants. In this study, farmland soil samples from 79 sampling sites were collected in Karashahar–Baghrash oasis, northwest China, and the contents of eight heavy metal elements (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) were determined by standard methods. The spatial distribution, pollution, and ecological risks of heavy metals were analyzed based on Geographical Information System (GIS) technology, contamination factor (CF), pollution load index (PLI), and potential ecological risk index (RI). Results indicated that: (1) The average contents of Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb, and Zn exceeded the background values of irrigation soils of Xinjiang by 54.0, 1.34, 1.39, 3.44, and 5.01 times, respectively. The average contents of Cd exceeded the national standard of China by 10.80 times; (2) The pollution order of CF was ranked as Cd > Zn > Pb > Ni > Cr > Cu > As > Mn, and the ecological risk order of Eri was ranked as Cd > Ni > As > Cu > Ni > Pb > Cr > Zn. The average PLI of the study area showed heavy pollution level, and the average RI of the study area fell into considerable risk; (3) The moderately polluted areas with moderate potential ecological risks distributed in the northern parts, whereas heavily polluted areas with considerable potential ecological risks distributed in the southern parts of the study area; (4) Cr, Cu, and Mn of farmland soils were mainly originated from natural factors. Cd, Ni, and Pb were mainly originated from anthropogenic factors. As and Zn may be associated with both natural and anthropogenic factors. Cd contributed most to the PLI and RI of the farmland soils in the study area.  相似文献

为了解赣江上游表层沉积物重金属污染特征,采集赣江上游38个样品,采用电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(ICP-MS,Agilent 8800)分析沉积物中重金属含量,结合内梅罗综合污染指数法、地累积指数法、主成分分析及沉积物质量基准等研究赣江上游沉积物中重金属污染程度,分析污染物可能的来源及评价其存在的生态风险。结果表明:赣江上游沉积物中W、Cr、Mn、Cu、Zn、As、Cd、Hg、Pb等9种重金属的平均含量分别为12.30、4.40、999.84、9.72、293.81、47.66、2.85、1.34、63.68 mg·kg-1;除Cr和Cu外,其余7种重金属的平均值均超过江西省土壤背景值。内梅罗综合污染评价表明,赣江上游表层沉积物中47.37%的采样点呈严重污染,28.95%采样点污染明显,其中污染程度章水段>桃江段>贡江段;地积累指数法显示,Mn、As、W、Pb呈轻度污染,Cd和Hg呈中度或偏重度污染;主成分分析显示,As、W、Hg、Pb具有相似的污染源,Cr和Mn具有相似的污染源;沉积物质量基准分析表明,对底栖生物可能产生毒性效应的重金属主要是Cd和Hg,主要分布在章水段和桃江段。  相似文献

采用原子吸收分光光度法测定了矮牡丹体内的10种矿质元素,即K、Mg、Mn、Fe、Ni、Zn、Cu、Cd、Cr、Pb。分析了矿质元素在矮牡丹体内的分布规律及矮牡丹对各种元素的富集能力。结果表明:在不同器官中的矿质元素含量有显著差异, K、Mg、Mn、Ni、Cd、Cr、Pb以叶中为高, Fe、Zn、Cu分别以根、茎、叶柄中含量最高;大多数元素在叶柄中含量最低。矮牡丹对K、Mg、Mn、Fe、Zn有较强的吸收富集能力,一般叶的富集系数较其它器官为高。元素间相关分析表明:Zn、Cd、Cr、Pb、Mn、Fe、Ni、Cu之间有显著的相关性, K、Mg之间的相关性显著。此外,土壤与植物体内元素含量表现出显著的相关性。  相似文献

Environmental pollutants are associated with honeybee colony losses and may show seasonal concentration variations with respect to the environment and plants. In this study, we examined arsenic (As), lead (Pb), and mercury (Hg) seasonal variations in honey and honeybees in urban areas. Seasonal trends in detoxification (CYP9Q1, CYP9Q2, and CYP9Q3) and antioxidant genes encoding catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD1) were also determined in honeybees. Accordingly, As, Pb, and Hg concentrations were significantly increased in summer in both honey and honeybee samples when compared with other seasons. Similarly, the expression level of CYP9Q1, CYP9Q2, CYP9Q3, SOD1, and CAT showed a significant increase in summer honeybees. This increased expression level particularly in summer honeybees indicating an increased summer honeybee exposure and adaptive oxidative stress responses to environmental pollutants, including heavy metals due to increased flight activity when compared with other seasons. Thus, active season honeybees were subjected to environmental oxidative and detoxification stressors when exposed to environmental pollutants, including heavy metals.  相似文献

城市住宅区是人类活动的重要场所,与居民的日常生活紧密相关。为了解沈阳市住宅区小区与街道灰尘中重金属污染的空间分布,采集了不同住宅区小区与街道的灰尘样品,分析了灰尘中重金属的含量,并使用富集因子和地累积指数评估了其污染程度。结果表明,沈阳市灰尘中重金属Cr、Cd、Cu、Pb和Zn的平均含量均超过辽宁省表层土壤元素背景值。单因素方差分析表明,街道灰尘中重金属Cu、Fe、Mn和Zn的空间分布具有显著性差异,而小区灰尘中重金属Cd、Cr、Fe、Mn和Pb在空间上具有显著性差异。重金属Cd、Zn和Pb的平均污染水平较高,其中小区内Cd和Zn的污染程度高于街道。沈阳市不同方位住宅区灰尘中重金属的污染水平介于轻度污染至中度污染之间。  相似文献

Concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cd, Ni, Cu, Cr, and Mn were determined to assess the impact of automobiles on heavy metal contamination of roadside soil. Soil samples at four polluted sites and a control site were collected at a depth of 0, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30?cm. A comparison of elemental levels between polluted and control sites exhibited exceptionally higher concentrations at the former sites. The Pb levels in polluted sites varied from 70 to 280.5?µgg?1and it rapidly decreased with depth. Similarly, mean concentrations of Zn, Cd, Ni, Cu, Cr, and Mn were significantly higher at polluted sites and followed a decreasing trend with the increase in depth. Correlation coefficients between heavy metals and traffic density were positively significant except for nickel. Profile samples showed that Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu, and Mn were largely concentrated in the top 5?cm confirming airborne contamination. The vertical movement and partitioning of metals, except Ni and Cr, exhibited predominant association with soil pH and organic carbon. Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the levels of heavy metals (Al, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn and Pb) in the geochemical fractions of the coastal surface sediments from the Bacochibampo Bay in Sonora, Mexico. Two surveys were conducted (March and September) during 2004, at eight sampling stations inside the bay, and in three natural effluents discharged into this bay. The extraction of metals was carried out using a microwave oven method and the quantification was done by atomic absorption spectro-photometry. The highest detected concentration of total heavy metals in sediments was: Fe>Al>Mn>Pb>Cr>Cu>Cd, with the following concentration values: Fe (1.72%), Al (1.03%), Mn (416.31 mg kg?1), Pb (11.73 mg kg?1), Cr (11.41 mg kg–1), Cu (6.78 mg kg–1) and Cd (1.33 mg kg–1). The levels of total heavy metals (Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn and Pb) were much less than the lowest observable effect level (LEL) which indicates that the sediments were not from polluted areas and that the origin of the metals was due to natural conditions. However, concentrations of Cd were much higher than the low effect level (LEL), over 40% of metal was detected in the exchangeable fraction and carbonates. The normalisation study showed a high degree of enrichment of Cd in all the sampling stations in the Bacochibampo Bay (samples EF 34–87) and in the natural flows that discharge into this bay (samples EF 22–35%), which exceeds by several orders of magnitude the value of sample EF 1, which indicates that Cd is anthropogenically induced. Based on these results, it is important that precautionary measures are established, since the deposited Cd in these fractions may be potentially toxic, due to the physicochemical changes that occur in the environment. Thus, future studies will focus on identifying problems involved with Cd bioaccumulation in different trophic levels.  相似文献
