Iron content of sediment and phosphate adsorption properties   总被引:9,自引:2,他引:7  
Phosphorus can occur in sediments in different forms and accordingly its availability varies. The distinction between the phosphorus fractions is made with two chemical extraction methods; an ammonium oxalate-oxalic acid extraction and an extraction according to Hieltjes & Lijklema (1980).The iron and aluminum liberated with the ammonium oxalate-oxalic acid extraction method is linearly correlated (r 2 = 0.73) with the phosphorus liberated in the first two steps of the Hieltjes and Lijklema extraction by: P = 0.035 (Fe + Al) + 0.001 (P, Fe and Al in mmol g–1).The iron and aluminum (hydr)oxides are very important fractions in the sediment adsorption capacity for phosphorus. The phosphorus sorption capacity (PSC) is 0.080 mol P (mol (Fe + Al))–1 and the adsorption constant (k) is 11.9 µmol P l–1. Here it is assumed that iron and aluminum (hydr)oxide have the same affinity for phosphorus.  相似文献

The binding behavior of lysozyme with Al(III) is described using luminol as a luminescence probe by flow injection–chemiluminescence (FI–CL) analysis. It was found that the CL intensity of the luminol–lysozyme reaction could be markedly enhanced by Al(III), and the increase in CL intensity was linear with the Al(III) concentration over the range 0.3–30.0 pg mL?1, with a detection limit of 0.1 pg mL?1 (3σ). Based on the interaction model of lysozyme with Al(III), lg[(I ? I0)/(2I0 ? I)] = lgK + nlg[M], the binding constant K = 6.84 × 106 L mol–1 and the number of binding sites (n) = 0.76. The relative standard deviations were 3.2, 2.4 and 2.0% for 10.0, 20.0 and 30.0 pg mL?1 Al(III) (n = 7), respectively. This new method was successfully applied to continuous, quantitative monitoring of picogram level Al(III) in human saliva following oral intake of compound aluminum hydroxide tablets. It was found that Al(III) in saliva reached a maximum of 101.2 ng mL?1 at 3.0 h. The absorption rate constant ka, elimination rate constant k and half‐life time t1/2 of Al(III) were 1.378 h?1, 0.264 h?1 and 2.624 h, respectively. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The somatic chromosome number of three Japanese species ofIsoetes, I. asiatica, I. japonica andI. sinensis, was determined in 199 individuals from 49 populations. The chromosome number ofI. asiatica was 2n=22, confirming previous reports. However,I. japonica andI. sinensis displayed a diversity in chromosome number. Six cytotypes, 2n=66, 67, 77, 87, 88 and 89, were found inI. japonica; 2n=67, 87, 88 and 89 are new counts in the genusIsoetes. The plants with 2n=66 were the most frequent (72% of total individuals examined) and were distributed throughout Honshu and Shikoku. The plants with 2n=88 occurred in western Honshu and a limited region in northeastern Honshu where the plants with 2n=77 were also found. In contrast, four cytotypes, 2n=44, 65, 66 and 68, were found inI. sinensis. The chromosome numbers ofI. sinensis were reported here for the first time. The plants with 2n=44 occurred only in Kyushu, while the plants with 2n=66 were found throughout a large area of western Japan.  相似文献

Phytochelatins ((γGluCys)nGly) are synthesized from glutathione by plants exposed to metals like Cd2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+. An intracellular complex formed by phytochelatins with Cd2+ and sulfide is thought to detoxify the metal possibly by sequestration in the vacuole. It was found that maize seedlings exposed to Cd2+ produced phytochelatins and two additional families of cysteina-containing peptides, (γGluCys)n and (γGluCys)nGlu. All thiol peptides with n = 2 and 3 were purified and their structure characterized by tandem mass spectrometry. For maize plants exposed to Cd2+ for 7 days, phytochelatins were synthesized preferentially in the first 24 h whereas the amounts of (γGluCys)n and (γGluCys)nGlu were the highest thereafter. This was probably due to an initial large pool of glutathione available in control plants compared with a dearth of γGluCys and no detectable γGluCysGlu. The (γGluCys)nGlu peptides were induced exclusively by Cd2+ as they were below the detection limit in control seedlings that contained low amounts of phytochelatins and (γGluCys)n. Since the Cys moiety of the peptides is essential for binding Cd2+, a role for accumulated (γGluCys)n and (γGluCys)nGlu in detoxifying Cd2+ in plants must be considered.  相似文献

Acid sulphate soil contains high amounts of iron (Fe) and aluminum (Al), and their contamination has been reported as major problems, especially in rainfed and irrigated lowland paddy fields. Rice is sensitive to Fe and Al grown in acid soil (pH < 5.5), leading to growth inhibition and grain yield loss. The objective of this study was to evaluate Fe and/or Al uptake, translocation, physiological adaptation, metal toxicity, and growth inhibition in rice genotypes grown in acid soil. Fe and Al in the root tissues of all rice genotypes were enriched depending on the exogenous application of either Fe or Al in the soil solution, leading to root growth inhibition, especially in the KDML105 genotype. Expression level of OsYSL1 in KDML105 was increased in relation to metal uptake into root tissues, whereas OsVIT2 was downregulated, leading to Fe (50.3 mg g−1 DW or 13.1 folds over the control) and Al (4.8 mg g−1 DW or 2.2 folds over the control) translocation to leaf tissues. Consequently, leaf greenness (SPAD), net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (gs), and transpiration rate (E) in the leaf tissues of genotype KDML105 under Fe + Al toxicity significantly declined by 28.4%, 35.3%, 55.6%, and 51.6% over the control, respectively. In Azucena (AZU; Fe/Al tolerant), there was a rapid uptake of Fe and Al by OsYSL1 expression in the root tissues, but a limited secretion into vacuole organelles by OsVIT2, leading to a maintenance of low level of toxicity driven by an enhanced accumulation of glutathione together with downregulation of OsGR expression level. In addition, Fe and Al restrictions in the root tissues of genotype RD35 were evident; therefore, crop stress index (CSI) of Fe + Al–treated plants was the maximum, leading to an inhibition of gs (53.6% over the control) and E (49.0% over the control). Consequently, free proline, total phenolic compounds, and ascorbic acid in the leaf tissues of rice under Fe + Al toxicity significantly increased by 3.2, 1.2, and 1.5 folds over the control, respectively, indicating their functions in non-enzymatic antioxidant defense. Moreover, physiological parameters including leaf temperature (Tleaf) increment, high level of CSI (>0.6), SPAD reduction, photon yield of PSII (ΦPSII) diminution, Pn, gs, and E inhibition in rice genotype IR64 (Fe/Al-sensitive) under Fe + Al treatment were clearly demonstrated as good indicators of metal-induced toxicity. Our results on Fe- and/or Al-tolerant screening to find out the candidate genotypes will contribute to present screening and breeding efforts, which in turn help increase rice production in the Fe/Al-contaminated acid soil under lowland conditions.

A total of 562 individuals living in four villages of two Brazilian Indian tribes (Cayapo and Krahó) was studied in relation to blood groups ABO, MNSs, P, Rh, Lewis, Duffy, Kidd and Diego; haptoglobin, Gc, acid phosphatase and phosphoglucomutase types. These results were compared with those obtained previously among the Xavante, and the inhabitants of three other Cayapo villages, all of whom speak Ge languages; the ranges in gene frequencies observed in a representative series of South American Indians from all over the continent were also compiled. The Ge Indians are characterized by low frequencies ofRz, medium frequencies ofR1,R2, R0, orr,Jka andPGM11, and high frequencies ofGc2 andACPA when compared with other South American tribes. Genetic distance analyses based on six loci indicate that the intratribal variability observed among Cayapo is of the same order of magnitude as those obtained among the Xavante and Krahó, being much less pronounced than those observed among the Yanomama and Makiritare. The intertribal differences within this linguistic group are much less pronounced than those encountered among tribes that speak more differentiated languages.  相似文献

缙云山4种林分土壤无机磷与活性铝的含量及分布   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
为探索不同林分对土壤中无机磷与活性铝的含量及分布的影响,以及无机磷与活性铝之间的相互关系,以在我国西南地区酸性土壤上的农林经营管理提供理论和实践依据。研究以缙云山广泛分布的4种林分类型:山莓、马尾松、楠竹和柑橘林土壤为对象,采用酸性土壤无机磷分级方法和铝试剂比色法测定了土壤剖面A、B和C层中各形态的无机磷与活性铝的含量,分析了不同林分土壤中无机磷和活性铝的含量和分布特征。结果表明,林分类型显著影响土壤中无机磷与活性铝的含量与分布,且铁磷(Fe-P)、交换态铝(Ex-Al)和羟基铝(Hy-Al)的含量和比例还受到土壤层次的影响。4种林分相比,山莓林能促进闭蓄态磷(O-P)的形成,而马尾松、楠竹和柑橘林则有利于Al-P、Fe-P和Ca-P的形成;柑橘林有利于低活性的腐殖酸铝(Al-AH)形成,而山莓、马尾松和楠竹林促进高活性的Ex-Al或Hy-Al溶出;Ex-Al、Al-P和Fe-P在土层的分布上有表层富集现象,而Hy-Al集中分布于B层。此外,土壤Ex-Al和Al-P与Fe-P之间,Hy-Al和Ca-P之间均呈显著(P<0.05)正相关。因此,林分类型显著影响土壤无机磷与活性铝的含...  相似文献

Sedimentation rates of organic and inorganic matter, chlorophyll a, P fractions, Ca, Mn, Fe and Al, were determined by sediment traps in a tropical oligo‐mesotrophic reservoir of São Paulo (Brazil). Vertical profiles of the sediments were analyzed for organic content, metals, P and surface P fraction composition. Estimated mean sedimentation rates, corrected for resuspension were: total solids, 1068 g m—2 y—1 (OM = 44.7%); chlorophyll a, 2.1 g m—2 y—1 and total phosphorus, 2.9 g m—2 y—1. The predominant P fraction in the settling flux was associated with aluminum minerals while surface sediments were dominated by organic P. The reservoir exhibited low sediment retention of P (13.0%), Al (9.9%), Fe (9.9%), Mn (1.4%) and Ca (traces), compared to trap sedimentation. This feature was related with a high vertical dynamics (resuspension and bottom release) and with the low retention time of the system.  相似文献

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi mediate interactions between plants and soils, and are important where nutrient or metal concentrations limit plant growth. Variation in fungal response to edaphic conditions may influence the effectiveness of the plant-mycorrhizal association in some soil environments. Andropogon virginicus (broomsedge) colonizes disturbed sites in the eastern United States, including acidic mine soils where aluminum (Al) is phytotoxic, and Al resistance in broomsedge has been associated with colonization by the AM fungus Glomus clarum. In the present study, inter- and intra-specific variation to confer Al resistance to broomsedge was assessed among selected species of AM fungi. Broomsedge seeds were grown in sand culture inoculated with one of five isolates of three species of fungi (G. clarum, Acaulospora morrowiae, and Scutellospora heterogama). Plants were exposed to 0 or 400 µM Al in nutrient solution and harvested after 4 or 9 weeks of growth. Mean infection percentage, plant biomass, and plant tissue Al and phosphorus (P) concentrations were measured. G. clarum conferred the greatest Al resistance to broomsedge, with the lowest variability among isolates for colonization and growth inhibition by Al [tolerance indices (TI) between 22.4 and 92.7%]. Broomsedge plants colonized by A. morrowiae were consistently the most sensitive to Al, with little variation among isolates (TI between 1.6 and 12.1%). Al resistance by S. heterogama isolates was intermediate and wide-ranging (TI between 3.9 and 40.0%). Across all AM fungal isolates, resistance was associated with high rates of colonization and low tissue Al concentrations of broomsedge plants. The functional diversity in Al resistance displayed by these AM fungi reflect variation in acclimation mechanisms operating in the mycorrhizal symbiosis under environmental stress.  相似文献

We examined the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizas (AM), phosphorus fertilization, intraspecific density, and their interaction, on the growth, phosphorus uptake, and root morphology of three facultative mycotrophic crops (Capsicum annuum, Zea mays, and Cucurbita pepo). Plants were grown in pots with or without AM at three densities and four phosphorus availabilities for 10 weeks. AM colonization, plant weight, and shoot phosphorus concentration were measured at harvest. Root morphology was assessed for C. annuum and Z. mays. Phosphorus fertilization reduced but did not eliminate AM colonization of all species. AM, phosphorus, and density interacted significantly to modify growth of C. annuum and C. pepo such that increased density and phosphorus diminished beneficial effects of AM. Increased density reduced positive effects of AM on C. annuum and C. pepo shoot phosphorus concentrations. AM altered both Z. mays and C. annuum root morphology in ways that complemented potential phosphorus uptake by mycorrhizas, but increased density and phosphorus diminished these effects. We infer that increased density predominantly influenced plant responses by affecting whether or not carbon (photosynthate) or phosphorus limited plant growth. By exacerbating carbon limitation, high density reduced the benefit/cost ratio of mycorrhizas and minimized their effects.  相似文献

In Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells expressing cloned human 5-hydroxy-tryptamine1A (5-HT1A) receptors, (R)-3-N,N-dicyclobutylamino-8-fluoro-[6-3H]-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-5-carboxamide ([3H]NAD-299) exhibited high affinity (Kd = 0.16?nM) and labeled 34% more receptors than 8-hydroxy-2-([2,3-3H]di-n-propylamino)tetralin ([3H]8-OH-DPAT). NAD-299 behaved as a silent antagonist in [35S]GTPγS binding similar to N-tert-butyl-3-(4-(2-methoxyphenyl)-piperazin-1-yl)-2-phenylpropanamide (WAY-100635) and (S)-5-fluoro-8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin ((S)UH-301). 5-HT and 5-carboxamidotryptamine (5-CT) stimulated [35S]GTPγS binding 2.5-fold while spiperone and methiothepin inhibited [35S]GTPγS binding 1.4-fold. Furthermore, NAD-299 antagonised both the 5-HT stimulated and the spiperone inhibited [35S]GTPγS binding to basal levels. The KiL/KiH ratios for spiperone (0.66), methiothepin (0.39), WAY-100635 (0.32), (S)UH-301 (0.94), NAD-299 (1.29), NAN-190 (1.23), (S)pindolol (5.85), ipsapirone (13.1), buspirone (24.6), (±)8-OH-DPAT (47.3), flesinoxan (55.8), 5-HT (200) and 5-CT (389) correlated highly significantly with the intrinsic activity obtained with [35S] GTPγS (r = 0.97).  相似文献

为探讨铝(Al)胁迫对木荷(Schima superba)幼苗光合特征的影响,采用营养液水培的方法,对铝(Al)胁迫下木荷幼苗的光合响应及盐基阳离子(BC)和磷(P)的调节作用进行了研究。结果表明,在低浓度Al(0.25 mmol L–1)处理下,木荷幼苗的光合色素(Chl a、Chl b、Car)含量、光合作用参数(P n、g s、WUE、C i/C a)以及光响应特征参数(P max、AQY、R d、LSP)均呈下降趋势,添加BC或同时添加BC和P均能缓解上述参数的降低。中、高浓度Al(0.75、1.50 mmol L–1)处理,除光合色素含量呈增加趋势外,光合作用参数、光响应特征参数均下降,且下降幅度随Al浓度的升高而增大,添加P比添加BC更能有效缓解Al胁迫对木荷幼苗的影响。这揭示了BC、P在缓解木荷Al胁迫的相对重要性。  相似文献

The aqueous speciation of Al was studied in acid forest soils in N.W. Spain. Aluminum concentrations were 10–70 mol L–1, with variable proportions oflabile, nonlabile, andacid-soluble Al. Almost all thelabile Al was found complexed with F, Al3+ concentrations being low. The importance of organic matter was seen in the formation of Al-organic complexes in the solid soil fraction and the presence of aqueous alumino-organic complexes in superficial horizons (umbric epipedons) rich in organic matter.  相似文献

15N-enriched (D ,L -Leu)n, (γ-OMe-D ,L -Glu)n, (D ,L -Val)n, and (D ,L -Phe)n were prepared, 40.55-MHz 15N-nmr spectra were measured in various solvents. The signal patterns depend strongly on the nature of the solvent, yet in most cases at least four signals are resolved, representing the four enantiomeric pairs of triads L -L -L (D -D -D ), L -D -L (D -L -D ), L -L -D (D -D -L ), and D -L -L (L -D -D ). Numerous copolypeptides of the general structure (A)n-B*-(A)m (the asterisk denotes 40–50% 15N enrichment) were synthesized and measured as models for syndiotactic sequences in the spectra of poly(D ,L -amino acids). In this way unambiguous assignments for both isotactic and syndiotactic trials were obtained. A spectroscopic rule was established: “isotactic sequences absorb downfield of syndiotactic ones.” Furthermore, the spectra of various types of stereocopolypeptides such as (L -Leu/L -Val)n and (L -Leu/D -Val)n were investigated, including the ternary systems (L -Leu/L -Ala/D -Ala)n (L -Leu/L -Ala/Gly)n, (L -Leu/D -Ala/Gly)n, (L -Val/L -Ala/Gly)n, and (L -Val/D -Ala/Gly)n. All copolymerization of D - and L -amino acid NCAs investigated in this work showed a low degree of stereoselectivity.  相似文献

The biomass production of three common aquatic macrophytes,viz. Azolla pinnata, Eichhornia crassipes andHydrilla verticillata, was high at the prevailing environmental conditions and by the enriched water of River Ganga. The biomass production ofAzolla andEichhornia was positively correlated with the orthophosphate phosphorus and nitrate-nitrogen concentrations of the enriched water. The biomass ofAzolla andHydrilla was positively correlated with the electrical conductivity of the water. The average yield of crude protein was highest in Azolla (8,520 kg.ha–1.yr–1), and somewhat lower inEichhornia (6,520 kg.ha–1.yr–1). Soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr. cv. Essex] were grown in nonsterile acid (pH. 5.2) infertile Wynnville silt loam (Glossic Fragiudult) in a glasshouse. The effects of P fertilization and lime were determined by inoculation with two VAM-fungi (VAMF): Glomus fasciculatum (Gf) and Glomus etunicatum (Ge). An important factor affected by the interaction between applied lime (soil acidity), applied P, and VAMF inoculation was the soil Al. Five application rates of P as KH2PO4 and three rates of lime were tested. Potassium was equalized with KCl (muriate of potash). P-efficiency (g seed/mg P kg-1 soil) by vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM) was maximal at 20 mg P kg-1 soil at all lime and VAMF treatments. VAMF inoculation increased plant survival and protected the soybeans from leaf scorch, thereby substituting for the effects of lime and P. The Ge inoculum was superior in ameliorating leaf scorch in the nonlimed soil. The Gf inoculum required more lime and P than the Ge inoculum to increase seed yield relative to the noninoculated controls containing only native VAMF. Both inocula increased root Al uptake and extractable soil Al in the acid soil without apparent adverse effects on root or shoot. The ability of the VAMF inocula to enhance the efficiency of applied P and decrease seed Cl concentration was increased by lime. Seed yield (Y) was negatively related to seed Cl concentration (X) where Y=aX-b. Both VAMF inoculation and lime application reduced this negative relationship and may have increased the tolerance to both Cl and soil Al.  相似文献

Agropyron bessarabicum (2n = 14),A. rechingeri (2n = 28),A. junceiforme (2n = 28),A. elongatum (2n = 14),A. flaccidifolium (2n = 28) andA. scirpeum (2n = 28) were studied by isoelectric focusing of seed soluble proteins.—The protein profiles obtained from the six taxa showed a striking degree of similarity; typically they consist of 40 bands. Reversing-pulse electric birefringence (RPEB) was measured for the first time for four fractionated poly(γ-benzyl-L -glutamate), [Glu(OBzl)]n, samples in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) at 20°C and at 535 nm. The RPEB signal showed a deep minimum for each sample on reversal of an applied electric field. The profiles of the reverse-transient signal were analyzed by taking into account the polydispersity for the continuous distribution of molecular lengths. The best set of three quantities (lw, lw/ln, (βw)2/2γw), which determine a signal profile, was evaluated for each sample. By combining the experimental data of intrinsic viscosity and RPEB, the diameter of a cylinder, which is assumed for the [Glu(OBzl)]n helix, was found to be 17 Å. The value (βw)2/2γw, which is related to the ratio of weight-average permanent dipole moment μw, and electric polarizability anisotropy Δαw, was found to be in the range of 20–45. This indicates that the former contributes predominantly to electric field orientation, but the latter also should not be ignored. With the three parameters from the reverse portion, the rise and decay curves were regenerated theoretically in excellent agreement with experimental signals.  相似文献
