The Vascular System of the Spikelet in Wheat (Triticum aestivum) 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The lower three florets in a spikelet of wheat cv. Aotea werefound to be supplied by the principal vascular bundles of therachilla, while the system of more distal florets consistedof subvascular elements derived from the vascular cylinder formedat the disc of insertion of these florets. This pattern appearedto be the same in all spikelets irrespective of position, apartfrom the terminal one, nor was it altered by raising the supplyof nitrogen. The apparent constancy of the vascular system iscontrasted with considerable variability in the number of grain-bearingflorets depending on genotype and environment. If a floret isconnected directly with the main vascular system and if assimilatesare not limiting, then competition for assimilates does notappear to be the main factor preventing grain formation. 相似文献

The Effects of Daylength and Treatment with Gibberellic Acid on Spikelet Initiation and Development in Clipper Barley 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The effects of photoperiod, light quality and a single applicationof gibberellic acid (GA3) on the development of the main-stemapex in Clipper barley are reported. In 16 and 24 h days spikeletinitiation was rapid but extended over a short period whereasin 8 h photoperiods both spikelet initiation and developmentwere slower but occurred for a much longer time. Initiationalways stopped when the anther primordia were clearly visiblein the most advanced spikelet. Daylength extensions with lowintensity incandescent light were most effective when they followedrather than preceeded the 8 h period of high light intensity.Plants grown in 8 h high intensity followed by 8 h low intensitylight initiated spikelets almost as rapidly as those grown in16 h high intensity light. Thus, the effects of daylength onspikelet production were primarily mediated through photoperiodicallycontrolled processes rather than through photosynthesis andassimilate supply. The effects of applied GA3 were long livedand greatest in short days where the rates of both spikeletinitiation and development were promoted. 对舞花姜(Globba racemosa)花部维管束系统进行解剖学观察分析,以探讨其缺失雄蕊的去向及其唇瓣和腺体结构的属性.结果显示:(1)舞花姜花梗部的维管束分散排列在基本组织内.(2)子房基部的维管束排成2部分,中央区为分散排列的小维管束,外方为一轮大维管束环,且外环维管束发育为子房壁维管束,心皮背束和隔膜束均起源于中心区维管束,二者的分支在延长部形成一个维管束网结;在网结之上,近轴面的两束心皮背束分支分别进入到2枚侧生退化雄蕊中并成为其主束,远轴面心皮背束的内方分支则成为唇瓣中束,三束心皮背束的其余分支均上行入萼片.(3)唯一1枚功能雄蕊接受近轴面隔膜束的内方主支作为其主束,远轴面2枚隔膜束的主支最后进入唇瓣的两侧束,三束隔膜束的外分支均发育为花瓣束.研究认为:舞花姜的唇瓣是一个三重结构,其中央维管束代表1枚外轮雄蕊,两侧维管束则分别代表2枚内轮雄蕊;舞花姜的2枚花瓣状退化雄蕊与唇瓣的中央一起构成外轮雄蕊,唯一1枚可育雄蕊和唇瓣的两侧同属内轮雄蕊.本研究结果支持姜科子房延长部形成的腺体属于子房上部心皮边缘的维管化附属物的观点. 相似文献

In the mature rachis internodes of a two-row barley ear therewere two large lateral vascular bundles and a number of smallermedian and outer lateral vascular bundles. These bundles rannearly the full length of the rachis with no cross connectionsbetween them. The lateral and the outer lateral bundles branchedat every node while the median bundles branched at every othernode. The vascular bundles to each spikelet passed through acomplex region in which transfer cells occurred. Development of the vascular system of the young main shoot earstarted at the triple mound stage when the procambium of lateralbundles was initiated. Initiation of the median bundles andthe outer lateral bundles followed in sequence with some differentiationof protophloem and protoxylem. At awn initial stage of the earthe vascular connections to the spikelets were established withdifferentiation of the almost complete procambium proceedingthroughout the ear elongation phase. The progress of vascularisation in the young ear is discussedwith reference to spikelet initiation, ear relative growth rateand death of terminal spikelets. A number of studies have tried to exploit subtle phase differences in BOLD time series to resolve the order of sequential activation of brain regions, or more generally the ability of signal in one region to predict subsequent signal in another region. More recently, such lag-based measures have been applied to investigate directed functional connectivity, although this application has been controversial. We attempted to use large publicly available datasets (FCON 1000, ADHD 200, Human Connectome Project) to determine whether consistent spatial patterns of Granger Causality are observed in typical fMRI data. For BOLD datasets from 1,240 typically developing subjects ages 7–40, we measured Granger causality between time series for every pair of 7,266 spherical ROIs covering the gray matter and 264 seed ROIs at hubs of the brain’s functional network architecture. Granger causality estimates were strongly reproducible for connections in a test and replication sample (n=620 subjects for each group), as well as in data from a single subject scanned repeatedly, both during resting and passive video viewing. The same effect was even stronger in high temporal resolution fMRI data from the Human Connectome Project, and was observed independently in data collected during performance of 7 task paradigms. The spatial distribution of Granger causality reflected vascular anatomy with a progression from Granger causality sources, in Circle of Willis arterial inflow distributions, to sinks, near large venous vascular structures such as dural venous sinuses and at the periphery of the brain. Attempts to resolve BOLD phase differences with Granger causality should consider the possibility of reproducible vascular confounds, a problem that is independent of the known regional variability of the hemodynamic response. 相似文献

小草蔻花梗的维管束可分成外环和中心区两部分。进入室下区后,外环维管束向外偏移,其数目由约13束增加至约40束;中心区由不规则分布的18束变为三角形排列的12束。延伸至子房室区时,外环基本不变,而原来中心我的维管束则成为3束心皮背束、3束隔膜束及5-7束小的胎座维管束。3束心皮背束外方的主支经延长中最后进入花萼、胎座维管束于延长部基部消失。及至延长部基部,3束隔膜束的内侧横向分支,并最后与部分外环的维管束及心皮背束方的细小分支在此形成一个维管束网结,而外侧的主支直接向上延伸;近轴面的隔膜束主支分裂成4支最后进入仅有的1枚功能雄蕊,无轴面的2束隔膜束主支则各分成2-3束最后进入唇。延长部的维管束网结部分延伸入花瓣、唇瓣和腺体基部,少量进入花柱。首次提出姜科植物的花萼既代表了3枚花萼片,又包含了3枚缺失的外轮雄蕊。支持姜科的唇瓣代表了两枚缺失的内轮雄蕊及两枚腺体是隔膜腺变异结构的观点。 相似文献

The vascular pattern in the root of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), characterized by discontinuous xylem, is markedly affected by its branching. The roots become divided into unbranched segments alternating with branched segments with a more complex vascular pattern, formed by two systems differing in origin and age: the primary vascular system derived from the procambium and ontogenetically younger connective vascular system derived from stelar parenchyma. Adjacent to the sites of the lateral root initiation, reprogramming of parent stelar parenchyma for connective vascular elements occurs. The connecting phloem is represented by small sieve elements and companion cells, the connecting xylem is composed of small vessel elements with reticulate or scalariform-reticulate wall thickenings and simple perforations. Development of the connective vascular system secures continuous lateral and axial vascular connection between lateral root and parent root. The extent of the vascular connection in the parent root increases in an acropetal direction. Hydraulic effects of connective vascular tissue formation and parent root segmentation are discussed. 相似文献

The primary vascular system of the rootstock of Viola rotundifolia,V. odorata and V. cucullata consists of an open system of threesympodia, corresponding to three orthostichies (parastichies)of leaves in the 1 /3 phyllotaxy. Between the major, collateralbundles there are vascular strands consisting of only primaryphloem. The vascular supply to axillary buds developing in thefirst season of growth is the same in flowering and vegetativebuds and there is a homology between the bracts on the pedunclesof axillary flowers and the prophylls of the axillary vegetativebranches. The overwintering portions of the rootstocks are somewhatwoody. The uneven development of secondary xylem correspondsto the locations of the sympodia. Secondary xylem closes a leafgap of a median trace only slowly, but any gap in the phloicsystem is closed quickly by secondary growth. 利用石蜡切片技术对蝎尾蕉科代表植物金嘴蝎尾蕉(Heliconia rostrata Ruiz&Pavon)的花部维管束系统进行了解剖学研究。结果表明,心皮背束在延长部的基部分裂为内外2分支,内方分支与胎座维管束汇合后进入花柱,远轴面2枚外方分支在延长部的顶部分裂为2~4束进入远轴面2枚外轮雄蕊,而近轴面1枚外方分支则进入退化结构成为其中脉;隔膜束在延长部顶部亦分裂为3~5束,最终分别进入3枚内轮雄蕊;子房壁其它维管束最终进入花被片。本研究认为金嘴蝎尾蕉花部花瓣状退化结构与另外2枚外轮雄蕊具有完全相同的维管束系统来源,应属于雄蕊成员,且支持Kress关于蝎尾蕉科是姜群的姊妹群,区别于芭蕉群其它3科的观点。 相似文献

Light and electron microscopy were used to relate histological and ultrastructural differences of barley leaves treated with different concentrations of salicylic acid (SA, 100 µM-1 mM). Light microscopy revealed that the thickness of all leaf tissue components decreased in SA-treated plants. The effect was most pronounced on the width of the adaxial epidermis and on the size of the bulliform cells. The chloroplast ultrastructure was also affected by SA treatment. Swelling of grana thylakoids in various degrees, coagulation of the stroma, and increase in chloroplast volume were observed. 1 mM SA caused a vast destruction of the whole plastid structure. 相似文献

In this brief review an attempt has been made to discuss some of the important features of the vascular anatomy of angiospermous leaves, especially those related to assimilate transport. Accordingly, emphasis has been placed on the small or minor veins, which are closely related spatially to the mesophyll, and which play a major role in the uptake and subsequent transport of photosynthates from the leaf. The small veins are enclosed by bundle sheaths that intervene between the mesophyll and vascular tissues and greatly increase the area for contact with mesophyll cells. In the minor veins of dicotyledonous leaves, parenchymatic cells having organelle-rich protoplasts and numerous cytoplasmic connections with sieve elements dominate quantitatively. It is these so-called intermediary cells that apparently are directly involved with the loading of assimilates into the sieve elements. In the maize leaf the small and intermediate bundles have two types of sieve tubes, relatively thin-walled ones that have numerous cytoplasmic connections with companion cells, and thick-walled ones that lack companion cells but have numerous connections with vascular parenchyma cells. The companion cell-sieve tube complexes are virtually isolated symplastically from other cells of the vascular bundle and from the bundle sheath.
