Summary Inspired by the breeding technique ofFinney, Flanders andSmith, the one which we have elaborated can be carried out by a reduced personnel, thanks to an increase of the output. The adults of theGnorimoschema operculella that are fed lay 300 eggs, most of them within 4 days. The limited keeping of the eggs and adults of the moth is possible at low temperatures and depends on the deficit of saturation of air moisture. The limited keeping of the cocoons ofM. ancylivorus containing larvae in their last stage can be assured at low temperatures. The notion of breeding index based on the variations of the rate of multiplication of the parasite for given relative densities makes it possible to check the breeding conditions. The average rate of multiplication which has been obtained is 76. The breeding technique must allow for the absolute necessity of preventing the extension of possible epidemics this implies a choice of desinfectable materials, the rotation of breeds, the separation of stages, the division of breeds in separable groups, the isolation of soiled implements, the periodical disinfection of the premises and materials. The technique we make use of enables a single man to obtain an output of 280 000 cocoons ofM. ancylivorus per month.
Resumen Inspirada en la técnica de cría deFinney, Flanders y Smith, la que hemos elaborado puede ser aplicada por un personal limitado merced a un aumento de los rendimientos. Los adultos deGnorimoschema operculella alimentados, ponen 300 huevos, la mayor parte en 4 días. La conservación limitada de los huevos y de los adultos es posible con bajas temperaturas y depende del déficit de saturación en vapor de agua. La conservación limitada de los capullos deM. Ancylivorus que contienen larvas en su último estado se puede obtener conbajas temperaturas. La noción de índice de cría basada en las variaciones del coeficiente de multiplicación del parasito para densidades relativas dadas permite la verificación de las condiciones de cría. Ha sido de 76 el coeficiente medio de multiplicación. En la técnica de cría, se debe tomar en consideración la necesidad absoluta de precaver la extensión de eventuales epidemias. Esto supone la elección de materiales desinfectables la permutación de las crías, la separación de los estadios, el fraccionamiento de las crías en grupos, aislables, el aislamiento del material ensuciado, la desinfección periódica de los locales y materiales. La técnica utilizada permite la producción de 280 000 capullos deM. ancylivorus al mes por solo un individuo.

The aims of this study were to characterize the hysterographic and histological features of the uteri and to perform immunohistochemistry with proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the cat endometrium at various stages of the reproductive cycle and after treatment with exogenous progestagen. Seventy-four female domestic cats submitted for routine ovariohysterectomy were categorized into six groups: inactive (n=20), follicular (n=9), luteal (n=18), and postpartum (n=12) stages of the reproductive cycle; cats given medroxyprogesterone acetate for estrus prevention (MPA group) (n=12); and cats with uterine pathological lesions (n=3). Hysterography was performed and the relation of the uterine and luminal shape in the hysterogram with the stage of the reproductive cycle as well as with any pathological conditions of the uterus was evaluated. The uteri and ovaries were thereafter surgically removed and sectioned for histological examination. The PCNA was used to demonstrate the expression of endometrial epithelial cell growth. The hysterographic appearance was found to differ between the six groups of cats. A straight uterine cavity was characteristic for cats in the inactive stage, whereas a wavy uterine cavity was characteristic for cats in the follicular stage. In the luteal stage, the luminal cavity of the uteri differed in shape with increasing progesterone concentration from straight to irregular wavy or coiled. The coil shaped uterine lumen seen in the MPA treated and pathological groups was considered also to be an expression of a progestagenic effect. Waviness and coiling of the uterine lumen was related to a proliferation of the endometrial glands, whereas irregular filling defects were indicative of endometrial cystic changes. This study is the first to demonstrate the expression of PCNA in the cat endometrium although no differences were found between the six groups of cats. The hysterographic appearance was found to differ according to stage of the reproductive cycle and pathological conditions. Thus, a normative hysterogram is now available for diagnosing the reproductive stage and uterine changes in cats developing endometrial hyperplasia with and without cystic changes.  相似文献

The document herewith deals with the geography, geology, and climate of the Mexican territory as the basis to further explain the development of Limnology as a science in this country. An early knowledge started with the Aztecs, with evidence of practical solutions for a life within a lake. After the conquest of the American territories by the Spaniards, the exploration of the new territories provided the main source of information relative to natural resources. In 1938, the Mexican government established the Estación Limnológica de Pátzcuaro and the pioneer studies appeared under the name of Spanish scientists not only here but also at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. During the 1970s, the participation of Mexican limnologists began and the attempt to build-up a conceptual framework in its own for lakes, reservoirs, and rivers. This article outlines the main limnological characteristics of Mexican water bodies, highlights the peculiarities of a transitional zone between the tropics and subtropics, and describes the government structure for management and administration. A fast development in this area of knowledge got underway with the creation of the Asociación Mexicana de Limnología in 1997 and the collaboration with international counterparts.  相似文献

The degree of trophoblastic attachment, modification of the uterine lining epithelium during implantation, possible differences in size of the conceptus, and preferential zones of nidation were evaluated. Eight ewes at 14 (n=3), 17 (n=2), 20 (n=1), and 24 (n=2) d of gestation were used, and 6 to 8 equidistant samples of either uterine o uterine plus embryonic membranes tissues were taken from each uterine horn for histomorphometric analysis. Trophoblastic attachment varied from 1.5 to 100% at 14 and 24 d of gestation, respectively. Modification of the uterine lining epithelium ranged from 0% at 14 d to 90% at 24 d. The conceptuses occupied a variable area of the uterine cavity; 15.1% at 14 d, 100% at 17 d, 70.6% at 20 d and 100% at 24 d of gestation. All the embryos were located caudal to the center of the uterine horn. Attachment of the trophoblast and modification of the uterine lining epithelium occurred in the area surrounding the embryos. Implantation was a gradual and long-lasting process which commenced near the embryo and extended peripherally. Morphological variations need to be considered when evaluating embryonic viability.  相似文献

A new species of Urotrema inhabits Norops oxylophus and Norops cupreus from the Area de Conservación Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The new species is most similar to Urotrema scabridum but differs by having a relatively longer esophagus, at least 10% of the total body length versus 4-8% in U. scabridum; an oral sucker width: ventral sucker width ratio less than 1 : 1 (averaging 1 : 0.76) versus 1 : 1 or greater; an oral sucker width : pharyngeal width ratio less than 1 : 0.5 (averaging 1 : 0.42) versus greater than 1 :0.5; and by having many transversely oriented posttesticular uterine loops versus a few vertically oriented posttesticular uterine loops.  相似文献

A technique for laparoscopic intrauterine insemination in bitches is described. During natural estrus, 5 beagle bitches were inseminated and S others were naturally mated (control group) twice at a 48-h interval on Days 3 and S (n = 4) or Days 4 and 6 (n = 6) after the increase in plasma progesterone considered to be indicative of the day of the preovulatory LH peak. All the inseminations were with fresh semen and under general anesthesia. The technique involved the introductions of 1) a Verres needle to insufflate the abdominal cavity by direct punction on the middle line 1 cm over the umbilicus, 2) a laparoscope to visualize the abdominal cavity by a 1 cm puncture on the middle line 1 cm under the umbilicus, 3) a forceps used to manipulate the uterus by a 0.5 cm puncture at 2 to 3 cm lateral to the mammary glands, and 4) an 18-g catheter used to puncture the uterus on the middle line between the 3rd and 5th mammary gland. The uterine body was grasped by the forceps and elevated against the ventral abdominal wall. The 18-g catheter was then inserted through the abdominal wall directly into the uterine lumen, and 1.0 ml of fresh semen containing 250 to 480 x 10(6) spermatozoa/ml was injected. The inseminations resulted in pregnancies in all animals. Litter size was similar in the artificially inseminated and naturally mated bitches (5 +/- 1.8 and 4.8 +/- 1.6 pups per litter, respectively). Bitches in the artificially inseminated group delivered at 65.2 +/- 0.8 d and in the natural mated group at 65.4 +/- 0.5 d after the LH peak. In conclusion, this paper gives the first results of intrauterine laparoscopic insemination in bitches, indicating interesting perspectives for this technique in dog's reproduction.  相似文献

The transfer of preimplantation embryos to a surrogate female is a required step for the production of genetically modified mice or to study the effects of epigenetic alterations originated during preimplantation development on subsequent fetal development and adult health. The use of an effective and consistent embryo transfer technique is crucial to enhance the generation of genetically modified animals and to determine the effect of different treatments on implantation rates and survival to term. Embryos at the blastocyst stage are usually transferred by uterine transfer, performing a puncture in the uterine wall to introduce the embryo manipulation pipette. The orifice performed in the uterus does not close after the pipette has been withdrawn, and the embryos can outflow to the abdominal cavity due to the positive pressure of the uterus. The puncture can also produce a hemorrhage that impairs implantation, blocks the transfer pipette and may affect embryo development, especially when embryos without zona are transferred. Consequently, this technique often results in very variable and overall low embryo survival rates. Avoiding these negative effects, utero-tubal embryo transfer take advantage of the utero-tubal junction as a natural barrier that impedes embryo outflow and avoid the puncture of the uterine wall. Vasectomized males are required for obtaining pseudopregnant recipients. A technique to perform vasectomy is described as a complement to the utero-tubal embryo transfer.  相似文献

Summary The preparation technique of electron microscopy was adapted to light microscopy, in attempts to obtain well preserved implantation sites. The most appropriate technique comprised perfusion fixation in glutaraldehyde, post-fixation in osmium acid, Epon-embedding, ultramicrotomy, and staining with toluidine blue.The morphology of the early mouse embryo from the time of nidation to mesoderm formation is described: the formation of Reichert's membrane occurs already at 6 1/2 days, by which time free trophoblast cells are to be found in the uterine cavity.  相似文献

Quinolizidine alkaloids were surveyed using gas chromatography (GC) and combined mass spectroscopy (MS) in bark or leaves of eleven species ofOrmosia Jackson as well as inClathrotropis macrocarpa Ducke from tropical forests in Latin America. A list of detected alkaloids, with their MS fragmentation patterns and GC retention indices, is given, as are the distribution of alkaloids among the samples and their detected concentrations. Alkaloid diversity inOrmosia was high, and the taxonomic distribution of specific alkaloids was not congruent with morphological taxonomic criteria: Of 143 alkaloids apparent in 14 samples, 65 were observed in only one sample, and no single alkaloid was common to all samples. Within a species, alkaloid concentrations were inconsistent and therefore cannot be used as a taxonomic character. This was shown for leaf alkaloid concentrations of two neighboring conspecific trees in the same habitat. Presentamos una lista completa de los alcaloides detectados incluyendo sus fragmentos en EM y su índice de retención en CG. También presentamos la distribución de los alcaloides en las muestras y su concentración. La variedad de alcaloides era alta y su distribución por especies no se ajustó con criterios taxonómicos morfológicos: De los 143 alcaloides detectados en 14 muestras, 65 alcaloides estaban presentes en una sola muestra y ningún en todas las muestras. La concentración de los alcaloides en una especie no fue consistente y por lo tanto no puede utilizarse como carácter taxonómico. Esta conclusión proviene del análisis de la concentración de alcaloides en hojas de dos árboles de la misma especie en el mismo hábitat.  相似文献

In Canaima National Park (CNP), Venezuela, a protected area inhabited by the Pemón people, socio-cultural and demographic changes have contributed to the apparent unsustainable use of fire, leading to forest and habitat loss. This over-use of fire, together with increased forest vulnerability to fire as a result of global climate change, could put both ecosystems and human well-being at risk. The conflict over fire use derives from the fact that whereas the Pemón depend for their livelihood on the use of fire for shifting cultivation and hunting, the policy of the CNP government agencies is fire exclusion (although this is not effectively enforced). Nevertheless, recent ecological studies have revealed that the creation of a mosaic of patches with different fire histories could be used to create firebreaks that reduce the risk of the wildfires that threaten the vulnerable and diverse savanna-forest transition areas. This technique imitates the traditional cooperative savanna burning strategies of the Pemón. By linking research on knowledge systems with management policies, the impasse over fire in the CNP might be avoided.  相似文献

The current advocacy for the so-called PhyloCode has a history rooted in twentieth-century arguments among biologists and philosophers regarding a putative distinction between classes and individuals. From this seemingly simple and innocuous discussion have come supposed distinctions between definitions and diagnosis, classification and systematization, and now Linnaean and “phylogenetic” nomenclature. Nevertheless, the metaphysical dichotomy of class versus individual, insofar as its standard applications to the issue of biological taxonomy are concerned, is an outdated remnant of early logical positivist thinking. Current views on natural kinds and their definitions under a scientific realist perspective provide grounds for rejecting the class versus individual dichotomy altogether insofar as biological entities are concerned. We review the role of natural kinds in scientific practice and the nature of definitions and scientific classifications. Although inherent instabilities of the PhyloCode are clearly sufficient to argue against the general application of this nominally phylogenetic system, our goal here is to address serious and fundamental flaws in its very foundation by exposing the unsubstantiated philosophical assumptions preceding and subtending it.
Resumen  Las propuestas actuales en favor del llamado Código de Nomenclatura Filogenética (Phylo-Code) tienen una historia basada en argumentos desarrollados, durante el siglo veinte, por biólogos y filósofos sobre una distinción putativa entre clases e individuos. De esta simple y aparentemente inocua discusión han surgido supuestas distinciones entre definición y diagnosis, clasificación y sistematización, y ahora entre nomenclatura Lineana y “filogenética.” Sin embargo, la dicotomía metafísica clase contra individuo, al menos en lo concerniente a su aplicación estándar al tema de taxonomía biológica, es un remanente obsoleto del pensamiento positivista lógico. Opiniones actuales sobre categorías naturales y sus definiciones bajo la perspectiva del realismo científico proveen bases para rechazar por completo dicha dicotomía, al menos en lo que concierne a las entidades biológicas. En este artículo se revisa el papel de las categorías naturales en la práctica científica, y la naturaleza de las definiciones y la clasificación científica. Aún cuando la inestabilidad inherente en el Código de Nomenclatura Filogenética es claramente suficiente para argumentar contra la aplicación general de este sistema nominal filogenético, el objetivo de este artículo es mostrar las serias y fundamentales deficiencias en sus propias bases al exponer las suposiciones filosóficas sin fundamento que le preceden y sustentan.

Complications after cesarean section delivery in cattle are mainly the result of infections. The bacteria responsible for this infection can be of exogenous or endogenous origin. In this investigation endogenous contamination was studied. Fetal fluid samples of 23 cows were collected from the uterine cavity during cesarean section just after the removal of the calf, by means of a sterile disposable plastic syringe. The uterine flora was cultured, quantitated and presumptively identified by using selective and elective agarplates. Nineteen samples were positive after culture. Eleven samples contained obligate anaerobic bacteria. When the amniotic sac was broken before the obstetrical examination, the total number of bacteria was significantly higher. Vaginal exploration by the farmer had no significant influence on the number of bacteria encountered. Cesarean section is considered a clean contaminated procedure. One must always take into account that the fetal fluids are contaminated with the endogenous vaginal flora. This leads inevitably to contamination of the wound and the peritoneal cavity. Properly antimicrobial prophylaxis is certainly indicated.  相似文献

Pollen grains of 24 species of Brunellia were examined with LM and SEM, in order to find additional taxonomic information for phylogenetic analysis. The pollen grains were found to be 3- colporate, tectate and to have variable exine pattern. Five types of exine pattern were observed: striate-reticulate (large lumina and high muri) to finely reticulate, modified reticulate (muri and lumina irregular in shape and at various levels), modified rugulate (irregular and with protruding tectal elements) and punctate (the lumina are smaller and rounded to slit-shaped). With reference to indication of taxonomic relationships the exine pattern is not informative at all; however it is useful, for defining taxonomic species as it is correlated to vegetative, inflorescence and fruit characteristics. It seems that the punctate type could be a plesiomorphic character while modified reticulate is a synapomorphy. Relationships in the pollen morphology of Brunellia and certain genera of Cunoniaceae are discussed. El polen de 24 especies de Brunellia fue examinado en el microscopio de luz (ML) y el microscopio electrónico (MES) para encontrar información taxonómica adicional y usar esta información en el estudio de relaciones filogenéticas. El grano de polen es 3-colporado, tectado y con una alta variabile ornamentación de la exina. Se observaron cuatro categorías en la ornamentación de la exina del grano de pollen: reticulado estriado (luminas grandes y muros altos) a finamente reticulado, reticulado modificado (muros y lúminas de forma irregular y en varios niveles), rugulada modificada (irregular y proyectando elementos tectales) y la ornamentación de tipo punteado (las lúminas son pequen~as redondeadas o en forma de líneas). Desde el punto de vista de relaciones filogenéticas la ornamentación de la exina es parcialmente un carácter informativo. Sin embargo, la ornamentación es útil para definir las especies taxonomicamente por la correlacion de este carácter con caracteres vegetativos, de inflorescencia o del fruto. El tipo de ornamentación punteado parece ser el estado plesiomórfico, mientras que la ornamentación modificada reticulada es una sinapomorf´ L a. Se discuten las relaciones del grano de polen de Brunellia y ciertos géneros de Cunoniaceae.  相似文献

Estudios publicados en el año 1993 demuestran alta incidencia de bocio en escolares de la zona de El Bierzo.Hemos valorado mediante encuesta el consumo de sal yodada, la presencia de bocio mediante palpación y ecografía, la función tiroidea midiendo concentraciones hormonales en plasma y la excreción de yodo en orina y leche mediante el método de Benotti, en un grupo de mujeres embarazadas de la zona, en los tres trimestres de la gestación y en el posparto.Nuestros resultados demuestran escaso consumo de sal yodada, endemia bociosa grave, hipotiroxinemia materna, pobre excreción de yodo en orina en las gestantes y escasa presencia de yodo en la leche materna. Todo ello indica la necesidad de campañas institucionales para remediar la situación.  相似文献

A technique for transvaginal, ultrasound-guided intrauterine injection was developed. After preliminary study using different approaches, the procedure was successful in 24 of 25 (96%) mares, based on detecting fluid in the uterine lumen during and after the injection. The technique was used to study the effect of PGE2, reportedly produced by the embryonic vesicle, on uterine contractility on Day 12 (Day 0 = ovulation). Uterine contractility was scored (1 = minimal, 4 = maximal) every 10 min for 1 h and every 30 min for the next hour by a continuous 1-min ultrasound examination of a longitudinal section of the uterine body without knowledge of group. In Experiment 1, the main effect of group (1-mL vehicle, n = 6; 0.25 microgram PGE2, n = 7) tended to be significant (P < 0.09), and the effect of time was significant (P < 0.008). The mean score was higher for the PGE2 group (2.0 +/- 0.1) than for the vehicle group (1.7 +/- 0.1). An increase in contractility occurred between 0 and 5 min in the vehicle group (P < 0.0004) and between 0 and 10 min in the PGE2 group (P < 0.04). In Experiment 2, there was a tendency (P < 0.08) for effect of group (control without injection, n = 6; 1-mL vehicle, n = 6; 0.025 microgram PGE2, n = 6). The PGE2 group (2.0 +/- 0.1) was different from the vehicle group (1.6 +/- 0.1) and the control group (1.6 +/- 0.1). An increase in contractility occurred between 0 and 20 min in the PGE2 group, and the changes were not significant in the other groups. However, scores were higher in the PGE2 group before treatment, and there were no significant effects when data were converted to percentage changes. The results for an effect of intrauterine treatment of PGE2 on uterine contractility are considered uncertain because of the transient increase in contractility from vehicle injections in Experiment 1 and the higher score in the PGE2 group before treatment, with no significant differences in percentages in Experiment 2. Indirectly, however, an effect of PGE2 was suggested by a shorter (P < 0.05) period of detectability of intrauterine fluid in the PGE2 groups (21 +/- 31 min) than in the vehicle groups (50 +/- 42 min). The shorter period was attributable to greater dispersion of the fluid as a result of increased contractility. In Experiment 3, PGE2 (10 mg, n = 5) and vehicle (4 mL, n = 5) were given intravenously. In addition to uterine contractility, uterine tone was scored (1 = minimal, 4 = maximal) by transrectal digital compression. The main effect of group was significant (P < 0.03) for uterine contractility score, which increased between 0 and 20 min after PGE2 injection. The time effect and interaction were highly significant (P < 0.0001) for uterine tone score, and tone increased in the PGE2 group between 0 and 20 min after injection. The results indicated that PGE2 should be considered as a potential stimulator of both uterine contractions and uterine tone during the time of embryo mobility in mares.  相似文献

Because clearing forest for agriculture is the most common disturbance in the Neotropics, studies of post-agricultural recovery need to be conducted, both to understand rain-forest function and structure and to address important social issues such as deforestation, restoration, and sustainability. To assist that effort, the clearing, planting, cultivation, harvesting, and abandonment practices for common crops in the Neotropics, the post-agricultural environment and disturbance regime, and the recovery mechanisms are reviewed for their influence on the succession that follows abandonment. An important focus is on the four historical effects, or signatures, of crops: crop persistence, crop root exudate persistence, persistence of associated species, and indirect effects of herbicide and fertilization regimes. In addition, the effects of cattle introduced after cropping, such as hummock creation, soil compaction, and dung deposition, are discussed. Further, permanent plot tree data from Puerto Rico and Ecuador are summarized to guide an understanding of how trees invade and replace themselves. Finally, tabular summaries of completed Neotropical seed/seedling/sapling field experiments are used, both to examine what is known about the mechanisms of old-field succession in the Neotropics and to suggest research directions and successful restoration strategies. A species-specific and field type-specific investigation of tree-replacement mechanisms in the future is suggested, leading to replacement modeling using data from permanent plots.
Resumen  Porque vaciar el bosque para la agricultura es alboroto más común en el Neotropics, los estudios de la necesidad post-agrícola de la recuperatión de ser hechos, entender la función de rain forest y estructura y para dirigir los asuntos sociales importantes tales como deforestatión, la restauration y la sostenibilidad. Para ayudar ese esfuerzo, el vaciar, plantar, el cultivo, cosechando y las prácticas del abandono para cosechas comunes en el Neotropics, el régimen post-agrícola del ambiente y el alboroto, y mecanismos de recuperatión se revisan para su influencia en la sucesión que sigue el abandono. Un foco importante está en los cuatro efectos históricos, o en las firmas, de cosechas: la persistencia de la cosecha, la persistencia de exudate de raiz de cosecha, se asoció la persistencia de la especie, y efectos indirectos de regímenes de herbicida y fecundatión. Además efectos de ganado, eso se introdujo después que cortando, tal como la creación de montecillo, la compactación de tierra y depositión de excremento se discuten también. Los datos permanentes del árbol del complot de Puerto Rico y Ecuador se resumen para indicar una comprensión de cómo árboles invaden y reemplazan a sí mismo. Los resúmenes finalmente tabulares de la semilla completada de Neotropic/semillero/los experimentas de campo de árbol joven se utilizan, examinar lo que se sabe acerca de los mecanismos de la sucesión vieja de campo en el Neotropics y para sugerir las direcciones de investigatión y estrategias exitosas de restauratión. Un especie-específico y el campo la investigatión escribe a máquina específico de mecanismos de reemplazo de árbol en el futuro se sugiere, llevando al reemplazo que modela los datas que utilizan de complots permanentes.

The idiopathic bone cavity (IBC) is an intraosseous pseudocyst devoid of epithelial lining. Clinically, IBCs of the jaw are asymptomatic and normally found in routine radiographic exams. Although the literature regarding the content of IBCs is controversial, the final diagnosis is usually aided by the discovery of an empty cavity upon surgical exploration. The aim of this study was to perform cytological and histological analysis of IBC contents. Cytological analysis of nine cases of IBC was performed after puncture and processed by the cell block technique. Histological analysis was performed in six cases in which it was possible to collect enough material by curettage of bone walls. Remarkably, cell block analysis revealed the presence of fibrin, often arranged as a net; erythrocytes; and inflammatory cells, with a predominance of lymphocytes as well as some macrophages and neutrophils. Histological analysis showed the presence of scant connective tissue, bone trabeculae, hemorrhagic foci, and hemosiderin. Only two cases presented scattered multinucleated giant cells. Cytological evaluation of IBC content by the cell block technique might represent a useful diagnostic tool, especially in cases in which there is no available material for curettage in the cavity.  相似文献

La experiencia acumulada a lo largo de varios años con la versión española del Diabetes Quality of Life Questionnaire (EsDQOL) nos ha conducido a proponer una serie de modificaciones que incrementan la fiabilidad y mejoran la aplicación del cuestionario.Se ha realizado un nuevo análisis de la fiabilidad (consistencia interna) mediante α de Cronbach, con la exclusión de los ítems 3, 8 y 16 de la subescala “Impacto”, al observar que estos ítems pueden generar confusión en la interpretación y evaluación del cuestionario. El análisis se ha llevado a cabo en una población de 823 pacientes diabéticos (711 tipo 1 y 112 tipo 2) tratados con insulina. Este nuevo análisis muestra que la eliminación de los tres ítems incrementa α de Cronbach en ambos grupos de pacientes, tanto en la subescala de “Impacto” como en la fiabilidad global del cuestionario, por lo que se propone la utilización de esta versión reducida del cuestionario EsDQOL.  相似文献

On both theoretical and practical grounds, respect for, and inclusion of, local decision-making processes is advocated in conservation, yet little is known about the conservation priorities on local territories. We employed interviews and ecological inventories in two villages in order to (1) evaluate the local perception of the conservation status of important plant resources; (2) compare patterns of plant use; and (3) compare perceived conservation status with population structure and abundance in the field. One-third of the 35 species examined were perceived to be threatened or declining. These were predominantly used locally for construction or sold commercially, but were not necessarily rare in the field. The destructiveness of harvest was the most consistent predictor of conservation status in both villages. Contrasting patterns were found in the two villages for the frequency of plant harvest and the relationship of this variable with conservation status. We suggest that local knowledge is an efficient means to rapidly assess the status of a large number of species, whereas population structure analysis provides an initial evaluation of the impact of harvest for selected species.
Conservación de Plantas útiles: Una Evaluación de Prioridades Locales en dos Localidades del Este de Panamá
Resumen  Tanto desde una perspectiva teórica como práctica el respeto e inclusión de los procesos locales de toma de decisiones es una forma en que la conservación puede ser promovida. Sin embargo, poco se sabe sobre las prioridades de conservación en territorios indígenas. En el presente estudio se emplearon entrevistas e inventarios ecológicos en dos localidades indígenas para (1) evaluar la percepción de los habitantes locales sobre el estado de conservación de recursos vegetales importantes; (2) comparar los patrones de uso de plantas; y (3) comparar la percepción del estado de conservación con la estructura de las poblaciones y la abundancia de las especies en el campo. Una tercera parte de las 35 especies estudiadas fueron percibidas como amenazadas o en proceso de declinación. Se trata de plantas utilizadas principalmente como materiales de construcción o que aportan productos que son comercializados, pero que no son necesariamente escasas en el campo. En ambas localidades la variable que predijo el estado de conservación de forma más consistente fue el grado de destrucción de las plantas asociado a las prócticas de cosecha. Encontramos patrones contrastantes entre las dos localidades con respecto a la frecuencia de cosecha y ala relación de esta variable con el estado de conservación de las plantas. Sugerimos que el uso de conocimientos locales es una forma eficiente de evaluar con rapidez el estado de un gran número de especies, en tanto que el análisis de la estructura de poblaciones aporta una evaluación inicial sobre el impacto de la cosecha para algunas especies de inters’e.
