The Puccinia species of Berkheya (Asteraceae) with description of four new species from South Africa

Puccinia species (rust fungi, Pucciniales, formerly Uredinales) occurring on Berkheya (syn. Stobaea) of Asteraceae are critically evaluated. Puccinia berkheyicola, P. stobaeae var. stobaeae and P. stobaeae var. woodii are recognized as valid species and varieties, while P. berkheyae is relegated to a synonym of P. stobaeae var. stobaeae. Lectotypes are selected for P. stobaeae var. stobaeae and P. stobaeae var. woodii. P. clanwilliamensis, P. garstfonteinii and P. monsfontium are proposed as new species for three rust fungi previously assigned to P. stobaeae; P. berkheyaephila is described as new on B. bipinnatifida. A key to the accepted species is presented.

A systematic revision of Potentilla lineata and allied species (Rosaceae) in the Himalaya and adjacent regions

Potentilla lineata and allied species (Rosaceae) in the Himalaya and adjacent regions are revised. Potentilla festiva Soják, P. josephiana H. Ikeda & H. Ohba, P. lineata Trev., P. fallens Card, and P. polyphylla Wall, ex Lehm. are recognized. Potentilla josephiana is a new name for P.fulgens Wall, ex Hook. var. intermedia Hook. f. Four varieties are recognized in P. polyphylla: var. polyphylla; var. himalaka H. Ikeda & H. Ohba, var. nov.; var. interrupta (Yü & Li) H. Ikeda & H. Ohba, stat. & comb, nov.; and var. barbata Lehm. A polyploid series is found in this group. Four putative hybrids between the species are also recognized.     

凤尾蕨属植物在中国的分布新资料

凤尾蕨属植物具有较高的观赏价值和药用价值。弄清其在我国的分布状况,有利于资源的开发利用。本文报道了台湾凤尾蕨Pteris taiwanensis Ching ex Ching et S. H. Wu为中国大陆分布新记录,另外11种凤尾蕨属植物为省新记录,分别是海南凤尾蕨、指叶凤尾蕨、多羽凤尾蕨、大明凤尾蕨、细弱凤尾蕨、线羽凤尾蕨、栗柄凤尾蕨、单叶凤尾蕨、细羽凤尾蕨、三叉凤尾蕨和鸡冠凤尾蕨。并证实凤仪凤尾蕨Pteris dalhousiae Hook.没有分布至中国。     

华南植物区系的评论——Ⅰ.苋科新的和值得注意的种类

作者编写《广东植物志》苋科时,对涉及华南地区及毗邻国的苋科种类;经复检标本花粉及等资料,现将其中5个属的分类群及其分布等予于报道。林地苋 Psilotrichum ferrugineum var.hainanense为新分类群,并作评论;线叶林地苋P.erythrostachyum为我国新记录;青花苋 Psilotrichopsis curtisii var.hainanensis 和短穗白花苋Aerva sanguinolentavar.minor均为新组合,并分别给予修正或补充描述;Cyathula semirosulata作新异名处理;重申砂苋 Allmania nodiflora分布于华南大陆(广西);澄清对我国标本错误鉴定的文献;此外,简介青花苋属时,将产于越、泰的P.curtisii var.cochinchinensis 作新组合。本文引证的标本,若未注明的亦收藏于华南植物所标本馆(SCBI)。     

中国豆科和樟科几种植物学名的订正

在编写《Flora of China》过程中,根据标本和文献的查阅,对国产豆科和樟科几种植物学名进行修订。本文记述5个新组合、4个新异名和一个恢复的种名。5个新组合是:垂果山蚂蝗Desmodium strigilosum var.pendenticarpum(C.Z.Gao Q.R.Lai) P.H.Huang,心叶山蚂蝗Desmodium flexuosum var.cordifoliolatum(P.C.Li) P.H.Huang,密毛长柄山蚂蝗Podocarpium densum(C.Chen et X.J.Cui)P.H.Huang,东北长柄山蚂蝗Podocarpium podocarpum var.mandshuricum(Maxim.) P.H.Huang和尖叶长柄山蚂蝗Podocarpium podocarpum var.japon-icum(Matsum.)P.H.Huang.4个新异名如下:李氏木姜子Litsea lii C.E.Chang及其变种能汉木姜子var.nunkao-tahangensis(Liao) Liao作为竹叶木姜子L.pseudoelongata Liou Ho的新异名,竹头角木姜子L.akosensis var.chitouchiaoensis Liao作为台湾木姜子L.hayatae Kanehira的新异名和密毛山蚂蝗Desmodium densum (C.Chen et X.J.Cui)H.Ohashi作为密毛长柄山蚂蝗Podocarpium densum (C.Chen et X.J.Cui)P.H.Huang的新异名。由于Litsea pedicellata一名被占用,恢复Litsea taiwaniana Kamikoti作为黄肉树合法的种名。     

Notes on genusPotentilla (Rosaceae) from Pakistan and Kashmir

A new species,P. grandiloba, and a new variety,P. pamirica var.khunjrabensis, from Pakistan are described. New status has been given toP. grisea var.vilijuga. P. aphanes is recorded for the first time from Pakistan.     

The infraspecific taxa of Pleiotaxis huillensis (Mutisieae, Asteraceae)

The species from Angola Pleiotaxis huillensis (Mutisieae, Asteraceae) is subdivided into three subspecies and one variety. Specifically, P. huillensis subsp axillaris and P. huillensis subsp. huillensis var. macrocephala are described as new taxa, and a new nomenclatural combination is proposed ( P. huillensis subsp. argentea ).     

Revision of the braconid genus Physaraia Shenefelt (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea)

The genus Physaraia Shenefelt (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is revised to include twenty-two species: twenty entirely Afrotropical; one Afrotropical and Palaearctic, and one Indo-Australian. Eleven species, achterbergi, aporia, empeyi, fanitalis, laticlavia, lundi, nana, nigricephala, sarisa, simplex and solanicola are described as new, and eight established species, bilobata (Cameron), capensis (Enderlein), caudata (Szépligeti), excisa (Szépligeti), furcata (Guérin-Méneville), melanocera (Cameron), sulphurea (Szépligeti) and sumatrana (Enderlein) are redescribed. P. longiseta (Szépligeti) is synonymized with P. furcata and P. caudata var. bimaculata (Fahringer) and P. trimaculata (Cameron) are synonymized with P. bilobata, P. furcata var. fasciativentris (Enderlein) is considered to be synonymous with the type species.     

荨麻科赤车属和楼梯草属新分类群

描述了中国南部岩溶地区发现的荨麻科赤车属2新种,楼梯草属5新种和2新变种。     

New Taxa of Saxifragaceae and Rosaceae from the Hengduan Mountains

In the present paper, we new species and two new varieties of Saxifragaceae and Rosaceae are described from the Hengduan Mountains. They are Philadelphus lushui-ensis Ku et S. M. Hwang, Parnassia lanceolata Ku var. oblongipetala Ku, P. nubicola Wall.ex Royle var. nana Ku and Malus muliensis Ku.     

New Plants of Plantago from China

One new species and one new variety of genus Plantago are describecd from China. They are P. densiflora J. Z. Liu and P. arachnoidea var. lorata J. Z. Liu.     

Revision of trilobites of the genus Paraphillipsia Tumanskaya from the Permian Olistoliths of Crimea

The genus Paraphillipsia Tumanskaya, 1935 is revised and the species P. taurica Tumanskaya, 1935 from the Middle Permian of Crimea is redescribed. The age distribution of species of the genus Paraphillipsia from Crimea is emended based on new stratigraphic data on the locality (species previously considered Artinskian became Roadian). As a result of analysis of a rather large number of new records of trilobites, the species P. kussicum, P. tauricum var. anfensis, and P. netschaewi are synonymized under P. taurica.     

The phylogeny of the cactophilic yeasts based on the 18S ribosomal RNA gene sequences: the proposals of Phaffomyces antillensis and Starmera caribaea, new combinations.

The complete sequences of the 18S rRNA gene fragments of the type strains of the cactophilic yeast species, Pichia antillensis, Pichia caribaea, Phaffomyces opuntiae, Phaffomyces thermotolerans, Starmera amethionina var. amethionina, and Starmera amethionina var. pachycereana were determined and compared. The type strain of Phaffomyces opuntiae had two kinds of the 18S rRNA gene sequences of which base differences were counted to be 15 and of which the percent similarity was calculated to be 99.1. The type strains of P. antillensis, P. caribaea, and Starmera amethionina var. pachycereana had the Q-7 system. The phylogenetic analyses showed that the genera Phaffomyces and Starmera were monophyletic and distant from each other and from the other species examined of the ascogenous teleomorphic genera, and that P. antillensis and P. caribaea were included within the clusters of the genera Phaffomyces and Starmera, respectively. The two Pichia species were transferred to the genera Phaffomyces and Starmera as the new combinations, Phaffomyces antillensis and Starmera caribaea. The new family Phaffomycetaceae was proposed as the type genus Phaffomyces.     

中国西部柄锈菌新资料

本文报告了我国西部的四种柄锈菌。黑果茜草Rubia cordifolia var. pratensis上的西北柄锈菌Puccinia boreo-occidentalis被描述为新种。垂花报春Primula nutans上的北极柄锈菌P. arctica、车叶草Asperula aparine上的车叶草柄锈菌P. asperulae-aparines和黄水枝Tiarella polyphylla上的黄水枝生柄锈菌P. tiarellicola为中国新记录。根据我国的标本对每个种作了描述和讨论并附有孢子线条图。所有标本保藏在中国科学院菌物标本馆(HMAS)。     

贵州盘星藻属的分类

鉴定了在１９８６年到１９９１年间采自贵州省各地３９个县市的１４６５号藻类标本,得到盘星藻属藻类５种８变种,其中包括１新变种;Ｐｅｄｉａｓｔｒｕｍ ｓｉｍｐｌｅｘｖａｒ．ｐｕａｄｒｉｌｏｂｕｓ Ｙ．Ｘ．Ｘｉｏｎｇ和１中国新记录变种：Ｐ．ｓｉｍｐｌｅｘ ｖａｒ．ｅｃｈｉｎｕｌａｔｕｍ Ｗｉｔｔｒ．。笔者在进行大量扫描电镜观察的基础上,参照Ｊ．Ｋｏｍａｒｅｋ（１９８３）的观点,对本属的部份种类进行了一些     

广西假糙苏属植物增补

报道假糙苏属(Paraphlomis)植物在中国广西2个新分类群和2个新记录种.2个新分类群是翅柄假糙苏(P.javanica(Blume)Prain var.pteropoda D.Fang & K. J.Yan)和白脉狭叶假糙苏(P.javanica(Blume)Prain var.angustifolia (C.Y. Wu)C.Y.Wu&H. W.Li f.albinervia D.Fang & K J.Yan).2个新记录种是刚毛假糙苏(P.hispida C.Y.Wu)和近革叶假糙苏(P.subcoriacea C.Y Wu ex H. W.Li).     

TWO NEW SOREDIATE TAXA OFPELTIGERA

Examination of specimens ofPeltigera didactyla, from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America revealed that this sorediate species includes three entities that can be separated on morphological characters. A new species,P. lambinonii, is described from East Africa, and a new combinationP. didactylavar.extenuata, is proposed to accommodate morphs from mesic forest habitats in Asia, Europe and North America. Despite this taxonomic reduction,P. didactylavar.didactylaremains a ubiquitous taxon. The former two taxa often produce methyl gyrophorate, which can co-occur with traces of gyrophoric acid. These tridepsides were only rarely detected in var.didactyla; their occasional presence seems to be best explained by hybridization. The taxonomic and ecological significance of these substances is discussed.
