The study investigated the suitability of stage of maturity and botanical fractions of whole crop rice (WCR) to predict yield and nutritive value of ensiled WCR for dairy cows. Eight varieties of WCR (i.e., Akichikara, Fukuhibiki, Habataki, Hamasari, Hokuriku 168, Kusanami, Tamakei 96, Yumetoiro) were harvested at four stages of maturity (i.e., 10, 22, 34, 45 days after flowering [DAF]) and ensiled. Dry matter (DM) yield at each harvest was determined. Silage samples were fractionated into four botanical fractions being: leaf blade, leaf sheath, stem and head. Silage samples were also analyzed for chemical composition, fermentation characteristics, in situ DM and N disappearance. Metabolizable energy (ME) and metabolizable protein (MP) content of samples were estimated according to Terada et al. (1988) and AFRC (1993), respectively. Relationships between maturity or proportions of botanical fractions and contents of WCR silage in terms of DM, ME and MP, and their yields, were estimated by correlation and regression analysis. Stage of maturity was positively related (P<0.001) to ME content (R2 = 0.46; y = 4.53 + 0.08X) and MP content (R2 = 0.56; y = 22.26 + 0.76X), and DM yield (R2 = 0.63; y = 9.21 + 0.12X), ME yield (R2 = 0.68, y = 36931 + 1708X) and MP yield (R2 = 0.72, y = 161.0 + 14.15X) of WCR. Proportion of leaf was negatively related to yields and nutritive value of ensiled WCR, whilst proportion of head was positively related (P<0.05 to <0.001). Proportion of head was best related to the ME content (R2 = 0.72; y = 3.26 + 0.009X), MP content (R2 = 0.72; y = 12.31 + 0.079X), and DM yield (R2 = 0.41; y = 9.02 + 0.009X), ME yield (R2 = 0.76, y = 19494 + 165.5X), and MP yield (R2 = 0.75, y = 34.37 + 1.32X) of WCR. Results suggest that to optimize yield and nutritive value, WCR should be ensiled within 40 DAF and the proportion of head should be equal to or more than 500 g per kg DM of WCR silage. Stage of maturity and proportion of head of WCR predict yields of DM, ME and MP of WCR, and their contents, in WCR silage with acceptable accuracy. However, these relationships need to be validated using large data sets and in vivo studies.  相似文献

Understanding the factors driving the variation in urban green space and plant communities in heterogeneous urban landscapes is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and important ecosystem services. In this study, we used a combination of field surveys, remote sensing, census data and spatial analysis to investigate the interrelationships among geographical and social-economic variables across 328 different urban structural units (USUs) and how they may influence the distributions of urban forest cover, plant diversity and abundance, within the central urban area of Beijing, China. We found that the urban green space coverage varied substantially across different types of USUs, with higher in agricultural lands (N = 15), parks (N = 46) and lowest in utility zones (N = 36). The amount of urban green space within USUs declines exponentially with the distance to urban center. Our study suggested that geographical, social and economic factors were closely related with each other in urban ecological systems, and have important impacts on urban forest coverage and abundance. The percentage of forest as well as high and low density urban areas were mainly responsible for variations in the data across all USUs and all land use/land cover types, and thus are important constituents and ecological indicators for understanding and modeling urban environment. Herb richness is more strongly correlated with tree and shrub density than with tree and shrub richness (r = −0.472, p < 0.05). However, other geographic and socioeconomic factors showed no significant relationships with urban plant diversity or abundance.  相似文献

The synthesis, crystallographic analysis and magnetic studies of six new copper(II) complexes of formulae [Cu(μ-ala)(im)(H2O)]n(ClO4)n (1), [Cu(μ-ala)(pz)(μ-ClO4)] (2), [Cu(μ-phe)(im)(H2O)]n(ClO4)n (3), [Cu(μ-gly)(H2O)(ClO4)]n (4), [Cu(μ-gly)(pz)(ClO4)]n(5) and [Cu(μ-pro)(pz)(ClO4)]n (6) have been carried out (ala = alanine; phe = phenylalanine; gly = glycine; pro = proline; im = imidazole; pz = pyrazole). In all cases, the deprotonated aminoacid ligand acts as chelate through the N(amine) and one O(carboxylato), whereas the second O atom of the same carboxylato acts as a bridge to the neighbouring copper(II) ion. The coordination of copper(II) ions is square-pyramidal in all complexes but 2 (elongated Oh). All complexes (16) are uniform chains with syn–anti (equatorial–equatorial) coordination mode of the carboxylato bridging ligand, exhibiting intrachain ferromagnetic interactions.  相似文献

Identification of stressors related to biological impairment is critical to biological assessments. We applied nationally derived tolerance indicator values for four water-quality variables to fish and benthic macroinvertebrate assemblages at 29 sites along an urban gradient in New England. Tolerance indicator values (TIVs), as biologically based predictors of water-quality variables, were determined for dissolved oxygen, nitrite plus nitrate (nitrate), total phosphorus, and water temperature for each site based on observed biological assemblages (TIVO), and for expected assemblages (TIVE). The quotient method, based on a ratio of the TIVs for observed and expected assemblages (tolerance units), was used to diagnose potential water-quality stressors. In addition, the ratio of measured water-quality values to water-quality criteria (water-quality units) was calculated for each water-quality variable to assess measured water-quality stressors. Results from a RIVPACS predictive model for benthic macroinvertebrates and Bray-Curtis dissimilarity for fish were used to classify sites into categories of good or impaired ecological condition. Significant differences were detected between good and impaired sites for all biological tolerance units (fish and benthic macroinvertebrate assemblages averaged) except for nitrate (P = 0.480), and for all water-quality units except for nitrate (P = 0.183). Diagnosis of water-quality stressors at selected sites was, in general, consistent with State-reported causes of impairment. Tolerance units for benthic macroinvertebrate and fish assemblages were significantly correlated for water temperature (P = 0.001, r = 0.63), dissolved oxygen (P = 0.001, r = 0.61), and total phosphorus (P = 0.001, r = 0.61), but not for nitrate (P = 0.059, r = −0.35). Differences between the two assemblages in site-specific diagnosis of water-quality stressors may be the result of differences in nitrate tolerance.  相似文献

Arthrospira (Spirulina) platensis (Nordstedt) Gomont was autotrophically cultivated for biomass production in repeated fed-batch process using urea as nitrogen source, with the aim of making large-scale production easier, increasing cell productivity and then reducing the production costs. It was investigated the influence of the ratio of renewed volume to total volume (R), the urea feeding time (tf) and the number of successive repeated fed-batch cycles on the maximum cell concentration (Xm), cell productivity (Px), nitrogen-to-cell conversion yield (Yx/n), maximum specific growth rate (μm) and protein content of dry biomass. The experimental results demonstrated that R = 0.80 and tf = 6 d were the best cultivation conditions, being able to simultaneously ensure, throughout the three fed-batch cycles, the highest average values of three of the five responses (Xm = 2101 ± 113 mg L?1, Px = 219 ± 13 mg L?1 d?1 and Yx/n = 10.3 ± 0.8 g g?1).  相似文献

Many studies regarding growth in diameter at breast height (D) in trees suffer from several problems, including heteroscedasticity, temporal autocorrelation and very low statistical adjustments. In growth ring studies, growth models are sometimes omitted, presenting only a mean curve or smoothings, while studies that use models often do not address the above mentioned problems. For these reasons, this paper proposes a new approach to the classical modeling of D = f(t), where t is age (years), using the logarithmic transformation of the relative growth rate ln(1/D)(dD/dt) = ln f(D, A),where A is the asymptote of D based on the differential growth rate model of von Bertalanffy. High statistically significant adjustments for Cedrela odorata (ME = 65%, model efficiency, ME, an analogous to R2 but for non-linear regressions), and Juglans neotropica (ME = 78%) were obtained and met all regression assumptions. These equations were integrated to obtain D = f(t) for both species, followed by self and independent validation. Based on these equations, different life history and silviculture traits were calculated for both species. This procedure does not appear to have been previously used in the study of tree growth.  相似文献

This paper analyzes urban–rural disparities of China's child health and nutritional status using the China Health and Nutrition Survey data from 1989 to 2006. We investigate degrees of health and nutritional disparities between urban and rural children in China as well as how such disparities have changed during the period 1989–2006. The results show that on average urban children have 0.29 higher height-for-age z-scores and 0.19 greater weight-for-age z-scores than rural children. Urban children are approximately 40% less likely to be stunted (OR = 0.62; p < 0.01) or underweight (OR = 0.62; p < 0.05) during the period 1989–2006. We also find that the urban–rural health and nutritional disparities have been declining significantly from 1989 to 2006. Both urban and rural children have increased consumption of high protein and fat foods from 1989 to 2006, but the urban–rural difference decreased over time. Moreover, the urban–rural gap in child preventive health care access was also reduced during this period.  相似文献

Coastal mangroves have the potential to improve the water quality of urban and rural runoff before it is discharged into adjacent coastal bays and oceans; but they also can be impaired by excessive pollutants from upstream. Nutrients (phosphorus and nitrogen), salinity, and other water quality parameters were measured in five mangrove tidal creeks in different hydrogeomorphic and urbanization settings during high and low tides over a calendar year of wet (June and August 2015) and dry (February and April 2016) seasons in the Greater Naples Bay area in Southwest Florida, USA. Nutrient concentrations (ave. ± std error) in the tidal creeks were 0.055 ± 0.008 mg-P/L for total phosphorus (TP) and 0.610 ± 0.020 mg-N/L for total nitrogen (TN), with an average N:P ratio of 11.4:1. Average wet season TP (0.075 ± 0.010 mg-P/L) was significantly higher than the dry season TP (0.033 ± 0.003 mg-P/L; p < 0.01, f = 15.17, fcrit = 3.89) and the average wet season TN (0.75 ± 0.03 mg-N/L) was significantly higher than dry season TN (0.52 ± 0.02 mg/L; p < 0.01, f = 64.14, fcrit = 3.89), suggesting that urban stormwater runoff is directly or indirectly affecting the nutrient conditions in these mangroves. Significant differences in nutrient concentrations between low tide and high tide were not found for either TP (p = 0.43, f = .63, fcrit = 3.88) or TN (p = 0.20, f = 1.66, fcrit = 3.89). These differences were confirmed by a PCA and cluster analyses, which found differences to be seasonal. We could not conclude from these results whether these five mangrove wetlands were sources nor sinks of nutrients based simply on the measurement of nutrient concentrations. But we illustrated that nutrient concentrations were indicators of the mangroves’ hydrogeomorphic settings, their tidal fluxes from Naples Bay, and the Bay's upstream watersheds, and less by direct urban runoff.  相似文献

ObjectiveThe objective of this study was to measure hamstring muscle eccentric and concentric strength in individuals with and without low back pain (LBP). Two composite scores for the relative balance of eccentric to concentric strength at the different movement velocities were calculated (the DEC and SEC), to determine whether or not self perceived pain, disability, or fear avoidance measures were associated with hamstring strength characteristics.DesignCross-sectional repeated measures design.SettingUniversity laboratory.ParticipantsFifteen individuals with chronic LBP and 15 matched controls.Main outcome measuresIsokinetic eccentric and concentric strength at 30° s?1 and 120° s?1. Composite scores (DEC and SEC) based on peak torque were calculated to evaluate the relationship between the different muscle actions across the test velocities. Self report measures included the Oswestry disability index, general health and well being, fear avoidance, and pain.ResultsEccentric/concentric strength ratio at 30° s?1 was higher for the LBP group (F(1,58) = 4.81, p = 0.032). The SEC was also higher for the LBP (F(1,58) = 5.97, p = 0.018). Fear avoidance beliefs and mental well-being were significantly associated with the SEC only in the LBP group (adjusted r2 = 0.26, (F(2,27) = 5.8, p = .008). For the control group both the DEC and SEC were associated with self report measures. Matched differences between groups’ for the SEC were best explained by fear avoidance beliefs about work (adjusted r2 = 0.12, F(1,28) = 5.1, p = 0.03).ConclusionReduced concentric relative to eccentric strength is best identified by the SEC. The SEC was significantly associated with impaired self report measures of fear avoidance and mental well being in individuals with LBP. Differences between groups for the SEC were best explained by fear avoidance beliefs about work.  相似文献

Juvenile Spinibarbus sinensis (n = 48, body length, 5.86 ± 0.10 cm, 25 °C) were fasted for 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 6 weeks. The fast-start performances of the experimental fish were assessed using high-speed video photography and the locomotive kinematics analysis. The morphological parameters including tail height (H2), tail length (L2), lateral body area (S1), median fin area (S2), dorsal cross section area (S3) and tail cross section area (S4) were also measured using TpsDig and the Photoshop. The results showed that 6 week starvation resulted in significant decreases in the escape distance (d), maximum linear velocity (Vmax) and maximum linear acceleration (amax) of center of mass in Stage 1 and Stage 2 of fast-start process (P < 0.05), however there were two relatively sTable phases in the Vmax and d, during the week 1–2 (Vmax = 0.67 ± 0.06 mm/ms; d = 8.86 ± 0.73 mm) and week 4–6 (Vmax = 0.31 ± 0.04 mm/ms; d = 3.70 ± 0.56 mm). When compared with the control group (0 week starvation group), only the 6 week starvation group showed the significantly different response time (t) with average t = 9.20 ± 0.37 ms in week 1–4. There were no significant difference in mass center turning angles at first stage (Ta1) , second stage (Ta2) and the sum of two stages (Ta(1+2)) was also not different (P > 0.05). The fish did not show any directional preference for left or right during escape turning, and all of the related parameters also remained unchanged among treatment group (P > 0.05). The areas of dorsal body cross-section decreased more acutely (P < 0.05) than caudal body cross-section (45.4% vs 38.0%) during the entire starvation period while no significant differences were observed in both the tail height and tail length among all treatment groups (P > 0.05). The results indicated that fast-start performance of juvenile S. sinensis is affected by the starvation; metabolic energy related traits such as the maximum linear velocity and the maximum linear acceleration decreased significantly after starvation; whereas traits with no direct link to metabolic energy such as the response time and turning angle remained unchanged during starvation. The lack of starvation induced change in the maneuverability of the fish suggests that fast-start ability related to escape strategy is relatively well conservative in juvenile S. sinensis.  相似文献

Isolations from oak symptomatic of Acute Oak Decline, alder and walnut log tissue, and buprestid beetles in 2009–2012 yielded 32 Gram-negative bacterial strains showing highest gyrB sequence similarity to Rahnella aquatilis and Ewingella americana. Multilocus sequence analysis (using partial gyrB, rpoB, infB and atpD gene sequences) delineated the strains into six MLSA groups. Two MLSA groups contained reference strains of Rahnella genomospecies 2 and 3, three groups clustered within the Rahnella clade with no known type or reference strains and the last group contained the type strain of E. americana. DNA–DNA relatedness assays using both the microplate and fluorometric methods, confirmed that each of the five Rahnella MLSA groups formed separate taxa. Rahnella genomospecies 2 and 3 were previously not formally described due to a lack of distinguishing phenotypic characteristics. In the present study, all five Rahnella MLSA groups were phenotypically differentiated from each other and from R. aquatilis. Therefore we propose to classify the strains from symptomatic oak, alder and walnut and buprestid beetles as: Rahnella victoriana sp. nov. (type strain FRB 225T = LMG 27717T = DSM 27397T), Rahnella variigena sp. nov. (previously Rahnella genomosp. 2, type strain CIP 105588T = LMG 27711T), Rahnella inusitata sp. nov. (previously Rahnella genomosp. 3, type strain DSM 30078T = LMG 2640T), Rahnella bruchi sp. nov. (type strain FRB 226T = LMG 27718T = DSM 27398T) and Rahnella woolbedingensis sp. nov. Three series of homologous dendritic amphiphiles—RCONHC(CH2CH2COOH)3, 1(n); ROCONHC(CH2CH2COOH)3, 2(n); RNHCONHC(CH2CH2COOH)3, 3(n), where R = n-CnH2n+1 and n = 13–22 carbon atoms—were assayed for their potential to serve as antimicrobial components in a topical vaginal formulation. Comparing epithelial cytotoxicities to the ability of these homologues to inhibit HIV, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Candida albicans provided a measure of their prophylactic/therapeutic potential. Measurements of the ability to inhibit Lactobacillus plantarum, a beneficial bacterium in the vagina, and critical micelle concentrations (CMCs), an indicator of the potential detergency of these amphiphiles, provided additional assessments of safety. Several amphiphiles from each homologous series had modest anti-HIV activity (EC50 = 110–130 μM). Amphiphile 2(18) had the best anti-Neisseria activity (MIC = 65 μM), while 1(19) and 1(21) had MICs against C. albicans of 16 and 7.7 μM, respectively. Two measures of safety showed promise as all compounds had relatively low cytotoxic activity (EC50 = 210–940 μM) against epithelial cells and low activity against L. plantarum, 1(n), 2(n), and 3(n) had MICs ? 490, 1300, and 940 μM, respectively. CMCs measured in aqueous triethanolamine and in aqueous potassium hydroxide showed linear dependences on chain length. As expected, the longest chain in each series had the lowest CMC—in triethanolamine: 1(21), 1500 μM; 2(22), 320 μM; 3(22), 340 μM, and in potassium hydroxide: 1(21), 130 μM; 3(22), 40 μM. The CMC in triethanolamine adjusted to pH 7.4 was 400 μM for 1(21) and 3900 μM for 3(16). The promising antifungal activity, low activity against L. plantarum, relatively high CMCs, and modest epithelial cytotoxicity in addition to their anti-Neisseria properties warrant further design studies with dendritic amphiphiles to improve their safety indices to produce suitable candidates for antimicrobial vaginal products.  相似文献

Bacteria of the genus Massilia often colonize extreme ecosystems, however, a detailed study of the massilias from the Antarctic environment has not yet been performed. Here, sixty-four Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile rods isolated from different environmental samples on James Ross Island (Antarctica) were subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. The psychrophilic isolates exhibited slowly growing, moderately slimy colonies revealing bold pink-red pigmentation on R2A agar. The set of strains exhibited the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities (99.5–99.9%) to Massilia violaceinigra B2T and Massilia atriviolacea SODT and formed several phylogenetic groups based on the analysis of gyrB and lepA genes. Phenotypic characteristics allowed four of them to be distinguished from each other and from their closest relatives. Compared to the nearest phylogenetic neighbours the set of six genome-sequenced representatives exhibited considerable phylogenetic distance at the whole-genome level. Bioinformatic analysis of the genomic sequences revealed a high number of putative genes involved in oxidative stress response, heavy-metal resistance, bacteriocin production, the presence of putative genes involved in nitrogen metabolism and auxin biosynthesis. The identification of putative genes encoding aromatic dioxygenases suggests the biotechnology potential of the strains. Based on these results four novel species and one genomospecies of the genus Massilia are described and named Massilia rubra sp. nov. (P3094T = CCM 8692T = LMG 31213T), Massilia aquatica sp. nov. (P3165T = CCM 8693T = LMG 31211T), Massilia mucilaginosa sp. nov. (P5902T = CCM 8733T = LMG 31210T), and Massilia frigida sp. nov. (P5534T = CCM 8695T = LMG 31212T).  相似文献

The structure of copper pyrazine dibromide (or dichloride) consists of dihalide-bridged copper chains parallel to the c-axis with the copper sites linked in a perpendicular direction by bridging pyrazine molecules parallel to the b-axis. Superexchange interactions are propagated through both halides and pyrazine so the magnetic structure is a rectangular layer with two exchange strengths, J and J′ (J = αJ), where 0 < α < 1. The susceptibility of a rectangular antiferromagnetic Heisenberg lattice with S = 1/2 has been simulated using Quantum Monte Carlo techniques and the results compared to the experimental data. Best fits of the magnetic susceptibility data to the simulated data yield: for Cu(pz)Br2, α = 0.20(5), C = 0.430(1) emu K/mol, 2J = ?46(1) K, and 2J = ?9(2) K and for Cu(pz)Cl2, α = 0.30(5), C = 0.426(1) emu K/mol, 2J = ?28(1) K, and 2J = ?8(2)) K. The values are in good agreement with the literature and thus demonstrate the effectiveness of the technique for rectangular lattices.  相似文献

A new compound govaniadine (1), along with three known tetrahydroprotoberberine-type alkaloids caseadine (2), caseamine (3), and protopine (4), were isolated from the plant Corydalis govaniana Wall. All alkaloids 14 exhibited a good urease enzyme inhibition with IC50 ± S.E.M. values of 20.2 ± 3.6, 38.9 ± 2.8, 66.7 ± 1.2, and 54.1 ± 1.2 μM, respectively, which are comparable to the standard inhibitor, acetohydroxamic acid (IC50 = 42.0 μM). None of these compounds showed inhibition against α-chymotrypsin. This is the first report of urease inhibiting tetrahydroprotoberberine-type alkaloids.  相似文献

Neuraminidase (NA) is one of the key surface proteins of the influenza virus, which is an important target for anti-influenza therapy. In the present study, bioassay-guided fractionation led to isolation of two new compounds, rhamnetin-3-O-β-d-glucuronide-6″-methyl ester (1) and rhamnazin-3-O-β-d-glucuronide-6″-methyl ester (2), along with seventeen known compounds (3-19), from the MeOH extract of Flos Caryophylli using in vitro NA inhibition assay. These isolated compounds exhibited significantly inhibitory effects on the NA with IC50 values ranging from 8.4 to 94.1 μM and were found to protect MDCK cells from A (H1N1) influenza infections (EC50 = 1.5–84.7 μM) with very low cytotoxicity to the host cells (CC50 = 374.3–1266.9 μM)), with selective index (SI) ranging from 7 to 297. The primary structure-relationships of these isolates were also discussed.  相似文献

The X-ray crystal structures of 1 and 2 revealed the presence of short intramolecular Au⋯Au contacts with the distances of 2.8404(8) and 3.0708(7) Å. The aim of this study was to characterize the association between adipocyte enlargement and circulating levels of serum amyloid A (SAA). Furthermore, we wanted to search for possible associations with measures of glycemic control and levels of circulating adipokines and/or inflammatory markers in men and women with a large range in body mass index. The study cohort consisted of 167 subjects, 114 non-diabetic and 53 with Type 2 diabetes. Adipocyte diameter as well as circulating levels of SAA, C-reactive protein (CRP), adiponectin, leptin, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor alpha, glucose and insulin were measured. Women had higher serum levels of SAA than men (p = 0.044). SAA levels were weakly but positively correlated with BMI (p = 0.043) and % body fat (p = 0.027) in all subjects as well as subcutaneous adipocyte diameter (p = 0.034) in women. Furthermore, in all subjects we found correlations between SAA levels and levels of CRP (p < 0.001), interleukin-6 (p < 0.001), leptin (p = 0.003), insulin (p = 0.006), HbA1c (p = 0.02) and HOMA-IR (p = 0.002). A majority of the correlations were strongest in women. In conclusion, serum levels of SAA are strongly correlated with serum levels of inflammatory markers as well as measures of glycemic control. There seems to be large sex differences in these associations suggesting that sex-specific factors need to be considered when analyzing SAA levels in relation to metabolic disease.  相似文献

Traditional approaches for managing aquatic resources have often failed to account for effects of anthropogenic disturbances on biota that are not directly reflected by chemical and physical proxies of environmental condition. The index of biotic integrity (IBI) is a potentially effective assessment method to integrate ecological, functional, and structural aspects of aquatic systems. A macrophyte-based IBI was developed for Minnesota lakes to assess the ability of aquatic plant communities to indicate environmental condition. The index was developed using quantitative point intercept vegetation surveys for 97 lakes that represent a range of limnological and watershed characteristics. We followed an approach similar to that used in Wisconsin to develop the aquatic macrophyte community index (AMCI). Regional adaptation of the AMCI required the identification of species representative of macrophyte communities in Minnesota. Metrics and scaling methods were also substantially modified to produce a more empirically robust index. Regression analyses indicated that IBI scores reflected statewide differences in lake trophic state (R2 = 0.57, F = 130.3, df = 1, 95, p < 0.005), agricultural (R2 = 0.51, F = 83.0, df = 1, 79, p < 0.005), urban (R2 = 0.22, F = 23.0, df = 1, 79, p < 0.005), and forested land uses (R2 = 0.51, F = 84.7, df = 1, 79, p < 0.005), and county population density (R2 = 0.14, F = 16.6, df = 1, 95, p < 0.005). Variance partitioning analyses using multiple regression models indicated a unique response of the IBI to human-induced stress separate from a response to natural lake characteristics. The IBI was minimally affected by differences in sample point density as indicated by Monte Carlo analyses of reduced sampling effort. Our analysis indicates that a macrophyte IBI calibrated for Minnesota lakes could be useful for identifying differences in environmental condition attributed to human-induced stress gradients.  相似文献

Purpose(1) Evaluate the reproducibility of segmentation methods depending on the preselection region for tumour volume determination on 18F-fluoro-ethyl-tyrosine (FET) PET. (2) Evaluate the intra and inter-operator reproducibility of the manual delineation. (3) Compare this delineation with the segmentation methods.Materials and methodsEighteen FET PET of patients with glioblastoma were analysed. Preselection regions were determined prior to any segmentation. Two physicians delineated the tumour volume manually. The tumour volume was also delineated with a threshold method (40 and 70% of SUVmax), and a random walk based method. Pearson coefficient (r) (P < 0.05 for r > 0.468) and Jaccard indices (JI) were used to compare the volumes.ResultsManual delineation was reproducible with r = 0.97 and IJ = 0.65 for intra-operator, and r = 0.76 and IJ = 0.45 for inter-operator reproducibility. The preselection regions for a given lesion were different and the segmentation varied with the preselection region: r = 0.55 JI = 0.58; r = 0.85 JI = 0.83; r = 0.70 JI = 0.39 respectively for the threshold of 40%, 70% and the random walk. The segmentation differed form de manual delineation with r = 0.37 and JI = 0.16; r = 0.54 and JI = 0.42; r = 0.43 and JI = 0.37 respectively for the threshold of 40%, 70% and the random walk.ConclusionThe reproducibility of the segmentation methods depends extensively on the preselection region. The intra-operator reproducibility of cerebral lesion delineation on FET PET is satisfactory. The inter-operator reproducibility could be improved.  相似文献
