The flagellum of Methanococcus voltae is composed of four structural flagellin proteins FlaA, FlaB1, FlaB2, and FlaB3. These proteins possess a total of 15 potential N-linked sequons (NX(S/T)) and show a mass shift on an SDS-polyacrylamide gel indicating significant post-translational modification. We describe here the structural characterization of the flagellin glycan from M. voltae using mass spectrometry to examine the proteolytic digests of the flagellin proteins in combination with NMR analysis of the purified glycan using a sensitive, cryogenically cooled probe. Nano-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis of the proteolytic digests of the flagellin proteins revealed that they are post-translationally modified with a novel N-linked trisaccharide of mass 779 Da that is composed of three sugar residues with masses of 318, 258, and 203 Da, respectively. In every instance the glycan is attached to the peptide through the asparagine residue of a typical N-linked sequon. The glycan modification has been observed on 14 of the 15 sequon sites present on the four flagellin structural proteins. The novel glycan structure elucidated by NMR analysis was shown to be a trisaccharide composed of beta-ManpNAcA6Thr-(1-4)-beta-Glc-pNAc3NAcA-(1-3)-beta-GlcpNAc linked to Asn. In addition, the same trisaccharide was identified on a tryptic peptide of the S-layer protein from this organism implicating a common N-linked glycosylation pathway.  相似文献

Various post-translational modifications (PTMs) of pilin in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 have been proposed. In this study, we investigated previously unidentified PTMs of pilin by mass spectrometry (MS). MALDI-TOF MS and TOF/TOF MS showed that the molecular mass of the C-terminal lysine of pilin was increased by 42 Da, which could represent acetylation (ΔM = 42.0470) or trimethylation (ΔM = 42.0106). To discriminate between these isobaric modifications, the molecular mass of the C-terminal tryptic peptide was measured using 15T Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) MS. The high magnetic field FT-ICR provided sub-ppm mass accuracy, revealing that the C-terminal lysine was modified by trimethylation. We could also detect the existence of mono- and di-methylation of the C-terminal lysine. Cells expressing a pilin point mutant with glutamine replacing the C-terminal lysine showed dramatically reduced motility and short pili. These findings suggest that trimethylation of pilin at the C-terminal lysine may be essential for the biogenesis of functional pili.  相似文献

The genome of a halophilic archaeon Haloarcula marismortui carries two flagellin genes, flaA2 and flaB. Previously, we demonstrated that the helical flagellar filaments of H. marismortui were composed primarily of flagellin FlaB molecules, while the other flagellin (FlaA2) was present in minor amounts. Mutant H. marismortui strains with either flagellin gene inactivated were obtained. It was shown that inactivation of the flaA2 gene did not lead to changes in cell motility and helicity of the filaments, while the cells with inactivated flaB lost their motility and flagella synthesis was stopped. Two FlaB flagellin forms having different sensitivities to proteolysis were found in the flagellar filament structure. It is speculated that these flagellin forms may ensure the helical filament formation. Moreover, the flagella of a psychrotrophic haloarchaeon Halorubrum lacusprofundi were isolated and characterized for the first time. H. lacusprofundi filaments were helical and exhibited morphological polymorphism, although the genome contained a single flagellin gene. These results suggest that the mechanisms of flagellar helicity may differ in different halophilic archaea, and sometimes the presence of two flagellin genes, in contrast to Halobacterium salinarum, is not necessary for the formation of a functional helical flagellum.  相似文献

Background

Leptospirosis, a re-emerging disease of global importance caused by pathogenic Leptospira spp., is considered the world''s most widespread zoonotic disease. Rats serve as asymptomatic carriers of pathogenic Leptospira and are critical for disease spread. In such reservoir hosts, leptospires colonize the kidney, are shed in the urine, persist in fresh water and gain access to a new mammalian host through breaches in the skin.

Methodology/Principal Findings

Previous studies have provided evidence for post-translational modification (PTM) of leptospiral proteins. In the current study, we used proteomic analyses to determine the presence of PTMs on the highly abundant leptospiral protein, LipL32, from rat urine-isolated L. interrogans serovar Copenhageni compared to in vitro-grown organisms. We observed either acetylation or tri-methylation of lysine residues within multiple LipL32 peptides, including peptides corresponding to regions of LipL32 previously identified as epitopes. Intriguingly, the PTMs were unique to the LipL32 peptides originating from in vivo relative to in vitro grown leptospires. The identity of each modified lysine residue was confirmed by fragmentation pattern analysis of the peptide mass spectra. A synthetic peptide containing an identified tri-methylated lysine, which corresponds to a previously identified LipL32 epitope, demonstrated significantly reduced immunoreactivity with serum collected from leptospirosis patients compared to the peptide version lacking the tri-methylation. Further, a subset of the identified PTMs are in close proximity to the established calcium-binding and putative collagen-binding sites that have been identified within LipL32.

Conclusions/Significance

The exclusive detection of PTMs on lysine residues within LipL32 from in vivo-isolated L. interrogans implies that infection-generated modification of leptospiral proteins may have a biologically relevant function during the course of infection. Although definitive determination of the role of these PTMs must await further investigations, the reduced immune recognition of a modified LipL32 epitope suggests the intriguing possibility that LipL32 modification represents a novel mechanism of immune evasion within Leptospira.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Biotherapeutics may contain a multitude of different post-translational modifications (PTMs) that need to be assessed and possibly monitored and controlled to ensure reproducible product quality. During early development of biotherapeutics, unexpected PTMs might be prevented by in silico identification and characterization together with further molecular engineering. Mass determinations of a human IgG1 (mAb1) and a bispecific IgG-ligand fusion protein (BsAbA) demonstrated the presence of unusual PTMs resulting in major +80 Da, and +16/+32 Da chain variants, respectively. For mAb1, analytical cation exchange chromatography demonstrated the presence of an acidic peak accounting for 20%. A + 79.957 Da modification was localized within the light chain complementarity-determining region-2 and identified as a sulfation based on accurate mass, isotopic distribution, and a complete neutral loss reaction upon collision-induced dissociation. Top-down ultrahigh resolution MALDI-ISD FT-ICR MS of modified and unmodified Fabs allowed the allocation of the sulfation to a specific Tyr residue. An aspartate in amino-terminal position-3 relative to the affected Tyr was found to play a key role in determining the sulfation. For BsAbA, a + 15.995 Da modification was observed and localized to three specific Pro residues explaining the +16 Da chain A, and +16 Da and +32 Da chain B variants. The BsAbA modifications were verified as 4-hydroxyproline and not 3-hydroxyproline in a tryptic peptide map via co-chromatography with synthetic peptides containing the two isomeric forms. Finally, our approach for an alert system based on in-house in silico predictors is presented. This system is designed to prevent these PTMs by molecular design and engineering during early biotherapeutic development.  相似文献

Bacterial flagella play an essential role in the pathogenesis of numerous enteric pathogens. The flagellum is required for motility, colonization, and in some instances, for the secretion of effector proteins. In contrast to the intensively studied flagella of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium, the flagella of Campylobacter jejuni, Helicobacter pylori and Vibrio cholerae are less well characterized and composed of multiple flagellin subunits. This study was performed to gain a better understanding of flagellin export from the flagellar type III secretion apparatus of C. jejuni. The flagellar filament of C. jejuni is comprised of two flagellins termed FlaA and FlaB. We demonstrate that the amino‐termini of FlaA and FlaB determine the length of the flagellum and motility of C. jejuni. We also demonstrate that protein‐specific residues in the amino‐terminus of FlaA and FlaB dictate export efficiency from the flagellar type III secretion system (T3SS) of Yersinia enterocolitica. These findings demonstrate that key residues within the amino‐termini of two nearly identical proteins influence protein export efficiency, and that the mechanism governing the efficiency of protein export is conserved among two pathogens belonging to distinct bacterial classes. These findings are of additional interest because C. jejuni utilizes the flagellum to export virulence proteins.  相似文献

Unlike external flagellated bacteria, spirochetes have periplasmic flagella (PF). Very little is known about how PF are assembled within the periplasm of spirochaetal cells. Herein, we report that FliD (BB0149), a flagellar cap protein (also named hook‐associated protein 2), controls flagellin stability and flagellar filament assembly in the Lyme disease spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi. Deletion of fliD leads to non‐motile mutant cells that are unable to assemble flagellar filaments and pentagon‐shaped caps (10 nm in diameter, 12 nm in length). Interestingly, FlaB, a major flagellin protein of B. burgdorferi, is degraded in the fliD mutant but not in other flagella‐deficient mutants (i.e., in the hook, rod, or MS‐ring). Biochemical and genetic studies reveal that HtrA, a serine protease of B. burgdorferi, controls FlaB turnover. Specifically, HtrA degrades unfolded but not polymerized FlaB, and deletion of htrA increases the level of FlaB in the fliD mutant. Collectively, we propose that the flagellar cap protein FliD promotes flagellin polymerization and filament growth in the periplasm. Deletion of fliD abolishes this process, which leads to leakage of unfolded FlaB proteins into the periplasm where they are degraded by HtrA, a protease that prevents accumulation of toxic products in the periplasm.  相似文献

Post-translational modifications (PTMs) are crucial steps in protein synthesis and are important factors contributing to protein diversity. PTMs play important roles in the regulation of gene expression, protein stability and metabolism. Lysine residues in protein sequences have been found to be targeted for both types of PTMs: sumoylations and acetylations; however, each PTM has a different cellular role. As experimental approaches are often laborious and time consuming, it is challenging to distinguish the two types of PTMs on lysine residues using computational methods. In this study, we developed a method to discriminate between sumoylated lysine residues and acetylated residues. The method incorporated several features: PSSM conservation scores, amino acid factors, secondary structures, solvent accessibilities and disorder scores. By using the mRMR (Maximum Relevance Minimum Redundancy) method and the IFS (Incremental Feature Selection) method, an optimal feature set was selected from all of the incorporated features, with which the classifier achieved 92.14% accuracy with an MCC value of 0.7322. Analysis of the optimal feature set revealed some differences between acetylation and sumoylation. The results from our study also supported the previous finding that there exist different consensus motifs for the two types of PTMs. The results could suggest possible dominant factors governing the acetylation and sumoylation of lysine residues, shedding some light on the modification dynamics and molecular mechanisms of the two types of PTMs, and provide guidelines for experimental validations.  相似文献

The highly conserved nature of the 5′-termini of all archaeal flagellin genes was exploited by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques to amplify the sequence of a portion of a flagellin gene family from the archaeon Methanococcus vannielii. Subsequent inverse PCR experiments generated fragments that permitted the sequencing of a total of three flagellin genes, which, by comparison with flagellin genes that have been sequenced, from other archaea appear to be equivalent to flaB1, flaB2, and flaB3 of M. voltae. Analysis of purified M. vannielii flagellar filaments by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) revealed two major flagellins (Mr= 30 800 and 28 600), whose N-terminal sequences identified them as the products of the flaB1 and flaB2 genes, respectively. The gene product of flaB3 could not be detected in flagellar filaments by SDS-PAGE. The protein sequence data, coupled with the DNA sequences, demonstrated that both FlaB1 and FlaB2 flagellins are translated with a 12-amino acid signal peptide which is absent from the mature protein incorporated into the flagellar filament. These data suggest that archaeal flagellin export differs significantly from that of bacterial flagellins.  相似文献

The flagellotropic phage 7-7-1 specifically adsorbs to Agrobacterium sp. strain H13-3 (formerly Rhizobium lupini H13-3) flagella for efficient host infection. The Agrobacterium sp. H13-3 flagellum is complex and consists of three flagellin proteins: the primary flagellin FlaA, which is essential for motility, and the secondary flagellins FlaB and FlaD, which have minor functions in motility. Using quantitative infectivity assays, we showed that absence of FlaD had no effect on phage infection, while absence of FlaB resulted in a 2.5-fold increase in infectivity. A flaA deletion strain, which produces straight and severely truncated flagella, experienced a significantly reduced infectivity, similar to that of a flaB flaD strain, which produces a low number of straight flagella. A strain lacking all three flagellin genes is phage resistant. In addition to flagellation, flagellar rotation is required for infection. A strain that is nonmotile due to an in-frame deletion in the gene encoding the motor component MotA is resistant to phage infection. We also generated two strains with point mutations in the motA gene resulting in replacement of the conserved charged residue Glu98, which is important for modulation of rotary speed. A change to the neutral Gln caused the flagellar motor to rotate at a constant high speed, allowing a 2.2-fold-enhanced infectivity. A change to the positively charged Lys caused a jiggly motility phenotype with very slow flagellar rotation, which significantly reduced the efficiency of infection. In conclusion, flagellar number and length, as well as speed of flagellar rotation, are important determinants for infection by phage 7-7-1.  相似文献

MYCN amplification is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in neuroblastoma (NB), but its protein product cannot be directly targeted because of protein structure. Thus, this study aimed to explore novel ways to indirectly target N-Myc by regulating its post-translational modifications (PTMs) and therefore protein stability. N-Myc coimmunoprecipitation combined with HPLC–MS/MS identified 16 PTM residues and 114 potential N-Myc-interacting proteins. Notably, both acetylation and ubiquitination were identified on lysine 199 of N-Myc. We then discovered that p300, which can interact with N-Myc, modulated the protein stability of N-Myc in MYCN-amplified NB cell lines and simultaneously regulated the acetylation level and ubiquitination level on lysine-199 of N-Myc protein in vitro. Furthermore, p300 correlated with poor prognosis in NB patients. Taken together, p300 can be considered as a potential therapeutic target to treat MYCN-amplified NB patients, and other identified PTMs and interacting proteins also provide potential targets for further study.  相似文献

Two isoforms of a cadmium-binding protein (Cd-BP 14a and Cd-BP 14b) were isolated from the terrestrial oligochaete annelid, Allolobophora caliginosa. The complete amino acid sequence of the major isoform Cd-BP 14a (molecular mass: 13441 Da; 119 residues) and the amino-terminal sequence (57 residues) of Cd-BP 14b were determined. The sequence of Cd-BP l4a is highly similar to that of myohemerythrins present in marine invertebrates. Furthermore, as myohemerythrins, Cd-BP 14a and Cd-BP 14b bind two atoms of iron and their ultraviolet/visible spectra are typical of non-heme iron-binding proteins. Three substitutions were found in the amino-terminal half of the proteins at positions 19, 21 and 41. The substitutions at positions 19 and 21 are conservative, whereas that at position 41 consists of the replacement of an aspartate residue in isoform a by a lysine residue in isoform b. To our knowledge, it is the first report of a protein belonging to the hemerythrin family in a terrestrial invertebrate.  相似文献

The Staphylococcus aureus surface protein G (SasG) is an important mediator of biofilm formation in virulent S. aureus strains. A detailed analysis of its primary sequence has not been reported to date. SasG is highly abundant in the cell wall of the vancomycin-intermediate S. aureus strain HIP5827, and was purified and subjected to sequence analysis by MS. Data from MALDI-TOF and LC-MS/MS experiments confirmed the predicted N-terminal signal peptide cleavage site at residue A51 and the C-terminal cell wall anchor site at residue T1086. The protein was also derivatized with N-succinimidyloxycarbonyl-methyl-tris(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl) phosphonium bromide (TMPP-Ac-OSu) to assess the presence of additional N-terminal sites of mature SasG. TMPP-derivatized SasG peptides featured m/z peaks with a 572 Da mass increase over the equivalent underivatized peptides. Multiple N-terminal peptides, all of which were observed in the 150 amino acid segment following the signal peptide cleavage at the residue A51, were characterized from MS and MS/MS data, suggesting a series of successive N-terminal truncations of SasG. A strategy combining TMPP derivatization, multiple enzyme digestions to generate overlapping peptides and detailed MS analysis will be useful to determine and understand functional implications of PTMs in bacterial cell wall-anchored proteins, which are frequently involved in the modulation of virulence-associated bacterial surface properties.  相似文献

Glycosylation of flagellin contributes to swimming and swarming motilities, adhesion ability, and consequently virulence in Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci 6605. Glycans attached to six serine residues are located in the central region of the flagellin polypeptide. The glycan structure at position Ser 201 was recently revealed to consist of two l-rhamnoses and one modified 4-amino-4,6-dideoxyglucose (viosamine). To clarify the mechanisms for glycosylation of modified viosamine, genes encoding dTDP-viosamine aminotransferase (vioA), dTDP-viosamine acetyltransferase (vioB), and viosamine-derivative transferase (vioT) were isolated and defective mutants were generated. MALDI-TOF–MS analysis of a lysyl endopeptidase-digested peptide including all six glycosylation sites from each flagellin indicated that the molecular masses of the three flagellin mutants were reduced with highly heterogeneous patterns at regular intervals of 146 Da in the mass range from m/z 13,819 to 15,732. The data indicated that the glycopeptides obtained from mutants had glycans consisting only of deoxyhexose instead of the flagellin glycans including the viosamine derivatives determined previously. The motility and virulence on host tobacco leaves were strongly impaired in the ΔvioA mutant and were weakly reduced in the ΔvioB and ΔvioT mutant strains. These results suggest that the genes vioA, vioB, and vioT are essential for glycosylation of flagellin, and accordingly are required for bacterial virulence.  相似文献

CL(14-25), a dodecapeptide, that is a partial region near N-terminus of cyanate lyase (CL, EC 4.3.99.1) from rice (Oryza sativa L. japonica), contains three arginine and two lysine residues. It was a novel cationic α-helical antimicrobial peptide. The antimicrobial activity of CL(14-25) against Porphyromonas gingivalis, a periodontal pathogen, was quantitatively evaluated by a chemiluminescence method that measures ATP derived from viable cells. The 50% growth-inhibitory concentration of CL(14-25) against P. gingivalis cells was 145 μM. CL(14-25), even at a concentration of 800 μM, had no hemolytic activity. When giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) that mimic the membrane composition of Gram-negative bacteria were used, microscopy image analysis suggested that CL(14-25) disrupted GUVs in a detergent-like manner. Therefore, CL(14-25) appears to exhibit antimicrobial activity through membrane disruption. To investigate the contribution of cationic amino acid residues in CL(14-25) to its antimicrobial activity, we synthesized four truncated CL analogs, in which one or two cationic amino acid residues were deleted from the N- and C- termini of CL(14-25). The degrees of calcein leakage from large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) and 3,3′-dipropylthiadicarbocyanine iodide (diSC3-5) release from P. gingivalis cells induced by truncated CL analogs were closely related to their antimicrobial activities. CL analogs, which were truncated by removing an arginine residue from the N-terminus and a lysine residue from the C-terminus maintained their antimicrobial activity. However, CL analogs, which were further truncated by removing two arginine residues from the N-terminus, and an arginine and a lysine residue from the C-terminus, rarely exhibited antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

Histone proteins are essential elements for DNA packaging. Their PTMs contribute in modeling chromatin structure and recruiting enzymes involved in gene regulation, DNA repair, and chromosome condensation. This fundamental aspect, together with the fact that histone PTMs can be epigenetically inherited through cell generations, enlightens their importance in chromatin biology, and the consequent necessity of having biochemical techniques for their characterization. Nanoflow LC coupled to MS (nanoLC‐MS) is the strategy of choice for protein PTM accurate quantification. However, histones require adjustments to the digestion protocol such as lysine derivatization to obtain suitable peptides for the analysis. nanoLC‐MS has numerous advantages, spanning from high confidence identification to possibility of high throughput analyses, but the peculiarity of the histone preparation protocol requires continuous monitoring with the most modern available technologies to question its reliability. The work of Meert et al. (Proteomics 2015, 15, 2966–2971) establishes which protocols lead to either incomplete derivatization or derivatization of undesired amino acid residues using a combination of high resolution MS and bioinformatics tools for the alignment and the characterization of nanoLC‐MS runs. As well, they identify a number of side reactions that could be potentially misinterpreted as biological PTMs.  相似文献

The flavin-dependent enzyme pyranose oxidase catalyses the oxidation of several pyranose sugars at position C-2. In a second reaction step, oxygen is reduced to hydrogen peroxide. POx is of interest for biocatalytic carbohydrate oxidations, yet it was found that the enzyme is rapidly inactivated under turnover conditions. We studied pyranose oxidase from Trametes multicolor (TmPOx) inactivated either during glucose oxidation or by exogenous hydrogen peroxide using mass spectrometry. MALDI-MS experiments of proteolytic fragments of inactivated TmPOx showed several peptides with a mass increase of 16 or 32 Da indicating oxidation of certain amino acids. Most of these fragments contain at least one methionine residue, which most likely is oxidised by hydrogen peroxide. One peptide fragment that did not contain any amino acid residue that is likely to be oxidised by hydrogen peroxide (DAFSYGAVQQSIDSR) was studied in detail by LC-ESI-MS/MS, which showed a +16 Da mass increase for Phe454. We propose that oxidation of Phe454, which is located at the flexible active-site loop of TmPOx, is the first and main step in the inactivation of TmPOx by hydrogen peroxide. Oxidation of methionine residues might then further contribute to the complete inactivation of the enzyme.  相似文献

The structural analysis of post‐translational modifications (PTMs) of lipoproteins is difficult due to the hydrophobic properties of their fatty acid moieties. At the present time, the relative positions of fatty acid components on the N‐acyl‐S‐diacylglycerylcysteine core structure has not been specifically identified in any natural or bacterial expressed recombinant lipoproteins. In this study, we describe a rapid solid‐phase extraction using acetonitrile and isopropanol method that can be performed manually to isolate large amounts of relatively pure lipopeptides generated by the limited tryptic‐digestion of recombinant lipoproteins. Using these lipopeptides and LC/MS mass spectra analysis, two groups of N‐terminal lipidated (diacyl or triacyl) molecules that differ by one fatty acid unit were successfully identified. This LC/MS method also provided the separation of lipopeptides differing by 14 Da for the on‐line MS identification. Multiple‐stage fragmentation analyses of the di‐ and triacyl lipopeptides using both the positive and negative ion modes enabled to identify the putative structure of the N‐acyl‐S‐diacylglycerylcysteine containing an amide bond to palmitic acid at the N‐terminal cysteine, a palmitic acid at sn1 position, and an unsaturated fatty acid of either hexadecenoic acid, cyclopropaneoctanoic acid, oleic acid and nonadecenoic acid at sn2 position of diacylglycerol residue through ester bonding. For diacyl lipoprotein, the saturated palmitoyl fatty acid group is absent at sn1 position of glycerol‐derived lipid residue of lipopeptide.  相似文献

1. Flagellin, isolated from the flagella of Salmonella adelaide, was shown by various criteria to be a pure protein. It had a molecular weight of about 40000 and contained three methionine, six tyrosine, 11 arginine and 25 lysine residues/mol., of which 11 of the lysine residues were present as in-N-methyl-lysine. 2. After treatment of flagellin with cyanogen bromide in formic acid, four main fragments (A, B, C and D) were obtained, with as many as six minor components that represented partial degradation products. The major fragments were estimated by amino acid analysis to have molecular weights of about 18000 for fragment A, 12000 for fragment B, 5500 for fragment C and 4500 for fragment D. Fragments A, B and D, but not fragment C, were recovered pure by gel chromatography as monitored by polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis. 3. A complex between fragments C and D was also isolated (mol.wt. 10000) after limited oxidation of flagellin by chloramine-t before digestion by cyanogen bromide. After oxidation essentially only two fragments were released from flagellin by cyanogen bromide: the ;C,D' complex and a presumed ;AB' fragment. 4. The sum of the amino acid analyses of fragments A and B and the ;C,D' complex gave residue values that agreed well with the amino acid composition of native flagellin. 5. Fragments A and D contained tyrosine, and ten of the 11 in-N-methyl-lysine residues of the molecule were in fragment A. Reaction with [(125)I]iodide at small extents of substitution showed that, in flagellin, the tyrosine residue of fragment D was more readily substituted than those of fragment A. By contrast, in polymerized flagellin, the tyrosine residues of fragment A were more readily substituted. 6. Treatment of flagellin with carboxypeptidases A and B revealed the C-terminal sequence -Leu-Leu-Leu-Arg. Arginine and leucine were released by carboxypeptidase from the ;C,D' complex but not from fragment D, indicating that fragment C was C-terminal. 7. On the basis of the results from amino acid analysis, carboxypeptidase digestion, N-terminal analysis, iodination studies and polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis, the sequence of fragments in flagellin was considered to be B-A-D-C; in the polymer, fragment A was exposed. It is suggested that methylation of the lysine residues occurred in the organism after flagellin had polymerized.  相似文献
