繁殖群体数量是中华鲟能否成功繁殖的重要影响因子, 建议作为长江生态考核的重要评价指标。根据重要种群参数和历史数据, 基于稳态转换理论和方法, 确定中华鲟繁殖群体数量指标的评估基准值和等级, 670尾以上为“优”、400—670尾为“良”、200—400尾为“中”、50—200尾为“差”、50尾以下为“极差”。水声学探测结果显示, 1998—2001年中华鲟繁殖群体数量指标评级为“良”; 2004—2012年三峡工程蓄水后至向家坝蓄水前评级为“中”; 2013—2020年评级为“极差”。为了复壮中华鲟野生种群, 建议修复葛洲坝下中华鲟产卵场功能, 大规模放流性成熟亲鱼和大规格个体, 建立国家级中华鲟保育中心。  相似文献

Abstract: With the decline of many lekking species, the need to develop a rigorous population estimation technique is critical for successful conservation and management. We employed mark—resight methods to estimate population size for 2 lekking species: greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) and Gunnison sage-grouse (Centrocercus minimus). We evaluated 2 different estimators: Bowden's estimator and the mixed logit-normal mark—resight model. We captured and marked 75 greater sage-grouse. We counted marked and unmarked birds as they attended 15 known leks. We used 36 and 37 marked Gunnison sage-grouse to estimate population size in 2003 and 2004, respectively. We observed marked and unmarked Gunnison sage-grouse daily as they attended 6 leks in 2003 and 3 leks in 2004. Based on our examination of the assumptions of each mark—resight estimator, relative to behavior and biology of these species, we concluded the mixed logit-normal mark—resight model is preferred. We recommend wildlife managers employ mark—resight approaches when statistically rigorous population estimates are required for management and conservation of lekking species.  相似文献

青鱼野生与养殖群体遗传变异的微卫星分析   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
研究利用自主开发的12个微卫星标记, 对来自于长江水系4个野生群体(湖北石首、湖南湘江、江苏邗江、浙江嘉兴)和1个养殖群体(江苏吴江)青鱼(Mylopharyngodon piceus)进行遗传多样性和遗传结构分析。遗传多样性分析结果显示这12个位点多态信息含量(PIC)介于0.660—0.923, 表明这12个位点均具有高度多态性(PIC>0.5)。5个群体的平均等位基因数(Na)介于7.917—11.667, 平均有效等位基因数(Ne)介于4.837—6.035; 平均观测杂合度介于0.713—0.861; 平均期望杂合度介于0.749—0.819; 平均多态信息含量介于0.711—0.788, 表明这5个群体均具有较高的遗传多样性。遗传距离分析结果表明4个野生群体之间遗传距离较近, 养殖群体与这4个野生群体遗传距离均较远。UPGMA系统进化树显示, 湘江群体和石首群体首先聚为一支, 然后与邗江群体和嘉兴群体聚为一支, 最后与吴江养殖群体聚为一支。这12个微卫星位点具有较为丰富的遗传多样性特征, 可以用于青鱼不同群体的种质资源的评估和遗传多样性的分析。  相似文献

Reintroductions—captive-born animals introduced into the species’ original distribution area—and translocations—free-living animals transferred to another location within the historical distribution area—are important conservation strategies for endangered species. Genetic analyses of 239 individuals from unmanaged, translocated and reintroduced populations of Leontopithecus rosalia were performed using 14 microsatellites. These samples were collected during two periods: (a) 1996–1997 (historic), when individuals were translocated and reintroduced into forest fragments in the lowland Atlantic Forest, and (b) 2007–09 (recent). We hypothesized that effective population size and genetic diversity would increase over time and that these management strategies would affect the resulting population genetic structure. We found trends indicating that the effective population size at the translocation site increased while that at the reintroduction sites diminished over time. The inbreeding coefficient of the translocated population diminished over time (from 0.38 to 0.03) and was much lower than that of the native (0.29) and reintroduced (0.13) recent populations. We observed a greater genetic admixture among the reintroduced sites on the historic sampling, as well as a strong genetic structure at the translocation site. In the recent sampling, the population structuring became more site-related suggesting low or inconsistent gene flow between sampling sites. This research highlights how conservation management decisions have an important influence on the genetic outcome of translocations and reintroductions. Future conservation planning should consider population genetic monitoring before and after management measures and maintain population connectivity thereafter to avoid the negative effects of a population size reduction.  相似文献

本文报道了1980—1982年东湖二种优势枝角类:透明溞(Daphnia hyalina)和隆线溞一亚种(Daphnia carinata ssp.)的种群变动和生产量的研究结果。分析了影响种群变动和生产量的生态因子。尽管这二种枝角类在一年中有一段共存时间,但高峰期从来是错开的。一般来说,透明溞的高峰期出现在春季或冬季;而隆线溞一亚种则出现在夏季或秋季源沓ㄋ蘑蛘纠此?1980—1982年透明溞的种群密度的年平均值为28.43(17.59—38.50)个/升;隆线溞一亚种为4.64(3.79—5.31)个/升。种群的瞬时出生率(b),;通常大于瞬时增长率(r);瞬时死亡率(d)与b的季节变动在大多数情况下是一致的。透明溞的年平均生物量为0.218(0.163—0.315)毫克干重/升,生产量为9.181(4.877—13.428)毫克干重/升·年,P/B系数为42.38(27.76—56.70)。隆线溞一亚种的年平均生物量为0.046(0.039—0.060)毫克干重/升,生产量为3.417(2.752—3.829)毫克干重/升·年,P/B系数为77.04(61.24—99.74)。    相似文献

Hybrid zones are established where two divergent populations meet and interbreed, but experience some reproductive isolation. If one population expands its range at the expense of the other, their hybrid zone moves. While hybrid zone movement is generally considered to be uncommon and insignificant, recent studies challenge this idea. The commonality of contemporary hybrid zone movement—with shifts in hybrid zones tracked over years to decennia—cannot be disputed, given the many examples available. Cases of historical hybrid zone movement—covering centuries or millennia of mobility—are accumulating, with movement having been inferred from five lines of evidence: (1) range shifts documented in the fossil/pollen record; (2) distribution dynamics derived from species distribution modelling; (3) enclaves of a displaced population persisting inside the range of an expanding one; (4) a peak of linkage disequilibrium at the leading edge of a moving hybrid zone; and (5) genome‐wide genetic traces of a displaced population, left behind in an expanding one. While most of these lines of evidence are not straightforward to interpret and/or broadly applicable, the latter—a genomic footprint of hybrid zone movement—promises to be particularly suitable to determine whether a hybrid zone has been on the move since its inception. I argue that historical hybrid zone movement is likely to be prevalent and deserves wider acknowledgement in historical biogeography.  相似文献

Classical life-history theory predicts that acute, immunizing pathogens should maximize between-host transmission. When such pathogens induce violent epidemic outbreaks, however, a pathogen’s short-term advantage at invasion may come at the expense of its ability to persist in the population over the long term. Here, we seek to understand how the classical and invasion-persistence trade-offs interact to shape pathogen life-history evolution as a function of the size and structure of the host population. We develop an individual-based infection model at three distinct levels of organization: within an individual host, among hosts within a local population, and among local populations within a metapopulation. We find a continuum of evolutionarily stable pathogen strategies. At one end of the spectrum—in large well-mixed populations—pathogens evolve to greater acuteness to maximize between-host transmission: the classical trade-off theory applies in this regime. At the other end of the spectrum—when the host population is broken into many small patches—selection favors less acute pathogens, which persist longer within a patch and thereby achieve enhanced between-patch transmission: the invasion-persistence trade-off dominates in this regime. Between these extremes, we explore the effects of the size and structure of the host population in determining pathogen strategy. In general, pathogen strategies respond to evolutionary pressures arising at both scales.  相似文献

Climate change is expected to lead to greater temporal climatic variability across broad spatial extents. A potential consequence is that shifts in climatic conditions might alter how local habitat affects the population growth of animals dependent on those habitats for at least part of their life cycle. We tested whether such a phenomenon occurred when the North American Prairie Pothole Region transitioned through periods of wet and dry conditions by modeling the population growth of seven duck species over 52 years (1961–2012). We found that the influence of local habitat quality—indexed by wetland availability—on duck population growth varied in magnitude and direction on an annual basis. While the effect of wetlands was relatively small in most years, there were some years in which wetlands strongly affected duck population growth in both positive and negative directions (e.g., negative in 2002 and positive in 2008). Contrary to our expectation, inter-annual variability in the effect of wetlands on duck population growth did not depend on regional precipitation. We also found that for two species—American Wigeon (Anas americana) and Green-winged Teal (A. carolinensis)—duck population growth in the presence of wetlands rarely differed from what would be expected solely under density dependence. Our study is the first to demonstrate that the effect of local habitat on population growth varies over time even if the cause of that variation remains unexplained. Consequently, any study that attempts to identify a species’ critical habitat using time series abundance data must consider that local relationships are non-stationary. More complicated measures of climate change may reveal how local drivers of population growth depend on broader temporal climatic patterns.  相似文献

Populations receiving high maladaptive gene flow are expected to experience strong directional selection—because gene flow pulls mean phenotypes away from local fitness peaks. We tested this prediction by means of a large and replicated mark‐recapture study of threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) in two stream populations. One of the populations (outlet) experiences high gene flow from the lake population and its morphology is correspondingly poorly adapted. The other population (inlet) experiences very low gene flow from the lake population and its morphology is correspondingly well adapted. Contrary to the above prediction, selection was not stronger in the outlet than in the inlet, a result that forced us to consider potential reasons for why maladaptive gene flow might not increase selection. Of particular interest, we show by means of a simple population genetic model that maladaptive gene flow can—under reasonable conditions—decrease the strength of directional selection. This outcome occurs when immigrants decrease mean fitness in the resident population, which decreases the strength of selection against maladapted phenotypes. We argue that this previously unrecognized effect of gene flow deserves further attention in theoretical and empirical studies.  相似文献

A population of potato cyst nematode recently discovered at Pukekohe, New Zealand, is identified as Heterodera pallida Stone, 1972. Diagnostic characters of the larvae—total length, width of the lip region, length of the stylet, length and width of the stylet knobs, and distance of the genital primordium from the anterior end—exclude the population from H. rostochiensis. Tested against differentially resistant clones of Solanum spp., the population appeared to be identical to biological race Dutch D.  相似文献

Maintaining the resilience of natural populations, their ability to resist and recover from disturbance, is crucial to prevent biodiversity loss. However, the lack of appropriate data and quantitative tools has hampered our understanding of the factors determining resilience on a global scale. Here, we quantified the temporal trends of two key components of resilience—resistance and recovery—in >2000 population time-series of >1000 vertebrate species globally. We show that the number of threats to which a population is exposed is the main driver of resilience decline in vertebrate populations. Such declines are driven by a non-uniform loss of different components of resilience (i.e. resistance and recovery). Increased anthropogenic threats accelerating resilience loss through a decline in the recovery ability—but not resistance—of vertebrate populations. These findings suggest we may be underestimating the impacts of global change, highlighting the need to account for the multiple components of resilience in global biodiversity assessments.  相似文献

The origin and life span of long-lived small lymphocytes in the bone marrow of mice have been evaluated by the use of radioautography, scintillation counting, and anti-theta serum. Thymus-deprived BALB/C mice and nude mice had a smaller percentage of long-lived lymphocytes in bone marrow and in thoracic duct lymph than sham-operated or normal littermates. Furthermore, the long-lived lymphocytes in the marrow of nudes have more varied—but generally shorter—life spans than long-lived lymphocytes from mice having a thymus. In thoracic duct lymph of nude mice a more homogeneous long-lived population—according to life span—was found.It was concluded that both long-lived T cells and long-lived B cells are normal residents in the bone marrow. Furthermore, it was concluded that cells of variable life spans comprise the B lymphocyte population: short-lived cells with life spans of 3–5 days and long-lived lymphocytes with life spans of weeks to months.  相似文献

The kinetics of CFUc studied by hydroxyurea and endotoxin treatments indicate that this cell population is proliferating actively (some 50% in S-phase). This fact implies a peculiar response to (BLM) treatment with Bleomycin, a drug which appears to be proliferation—dependent. The dose—response has a steep initial slope resulting in a low extrapolation number (n= 0·66; D37 = 960 ± 70 mg BLM/kg body weight). The steep initial slope is confirmed by split-dose experiments resulting in a potentiation effect by fractionation. Further evidence for the dependence of the action of this drug upon the proliferative state of the cell population is derived from time—response studies after single doses of BLM.  相似文献

Conventional epidemiological models usually assume homogeneous mixing, with susceptible and infected individuals mingling like the molecules in an ideal gas. It has recently been noted, however, that variability in transmission rates—arising, for example, from some hosts being in dense aggregates while others are in small or remote groups—can result in the intrinsic reproductive rate, R0, of a microparasitic infection being greater than would be estimated under the usual assumption of homogeneous mixing; this implies the infection may be harder to eradicate under a homogeneously applied immunization programme (that is, a larger proportion of the population must be vaccinated) than simple estimates might suggest. In this paper we consider a spatially heterogeneous population arbitrarily subdivided into n groups, with one transmission rate among individuals within any one group, and another, lower transmission rate between groups. We define an optimum eradication program as that which—treating different groups differently—achieves its aim by immunizing the smallest overall number in each cohort of newborns, and we show this optimum program requires fewer immunizations than would be estimated under the (false) assumption that the population is homogeneously mixed. We prove this result in general form, and illustrate it for some special examples (in particular, for a population subdivided into one large ”city“ and several small ”villages“).  相似文献

Defining subpopulations using genetics has traditionally used data from microsatellite markers to investigate population structure; however, single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have emerged as a tool for detection of fine‐scale structure. In Hudson Bay, Canada, three polar bear (Ursus maritimus) subpopulations (Foxe Basin (FB), Southern Hudson Bay (SH), and Western Hudson Bay (WH)) have been delineated based on mark–recapture studies, radiotelemetry and satellite telemetry, return of marked animals in the subsistence harvest, and population genetics using microsatellites. We used SNPs to detect fine‐scale population structure in polar bears from the Hudson Bay region and compared our results to the current designations using 414 individuals genotyped at 2,603 SNPs. Analyses based on discriminant analysis of principal components (DAPC) and STRUCTURE support the presence of four genetic clusters: (i) Western—including individuals sampled in WH, SH (excluding Akimiski Island in James Bay), and southern FB (south of Southampton Island); (ii) Northern—individuals sampled in northern FB (Baffin Island) and Davis Strait (DS) (Labrador coast); (iii) Southeast—individuals from SH (Akimiski Island in James Bay); and (iv) Northeast—individuals from DS (Baffin Island). Population structure differed from microsatellite studies and current management designations demonstrating the value of using SNPs for fine‐scale population delineation in polar bears.  相似文献

The expression of Thy 1, TL, Lyt1, and Lyt2 antigens on resting and proliferating thymocytes activated by concanavalin A in the presence of interleukin 2 has been studied by conventional complement-dependent cytotoxicity assay. The predominant population of resting thymocytes has a TL+Lytl+Lyt2+ phenotype while the predominant population of proliferating thymocytes has a TL — Lytl+Lyt2+ phenotype. Using several separation procedures such as agglutination by peanut lectin, BSA density gradient centrifugation, and pretreatment with high dilutions of anti-H-2 serum it was impossible to obtain a 100% pure population of TL+Lytl+Lyt2+ cells, suggesting that the population of resting immature thymocytes contains small subpopulations of phenotypically differentiated cells. The population of proliferating thymocytes is also phenotypically heterogenous and contains cells bearing all phenotypes that were described for different stages of T-cell differentiation, including TL+Lytl+Lyt2? and TL+Lytl?Lyt2+ with the following approximate frequency: TL+Lytl+Lyt2+—27%, TL+Lytl+Lyt2?—8%, TL+Lyt1?Lyt2+—4%, TL?Lytl+Lyt2+—45%, TL?Lyt1+Lyt2?—13%, TL?Lyt1?Lyt2+—3%.  相似文献

马铃薯甲虫Leptinotarsa decemlineata(Say)在新疆北部的危害逐年加重。本文采用点滴法检测了石河子、博州和昌吉3个地区4个马铃薯甲虫田间种群对有机磷、氨基甲酸酯、拟除虫菊酯、新烟碱类等15种杀虫药剂的抗性水平。结果表明,所检测的沙湾、玛纳斯、博乐和奇台4个马铃薯田间种群对拟除虫菊酯类高效氯氟氰菊酯和溴氰菊酯产生了11~155倍的抗性,博乐种群对高效氯氰菊酯抗性为27倍;4个种群对氨基酸酯类的丁硫克百威也产生了33~59倍的抗性。另外,对硫丹和阿维菌素也分别产生了11~23倍和4~7倍的抗性。但对水胺硫磷等4种有机磷和吡虫啉等3种新烟碱类杀虫药剂仍然比较敏感。研究结果为上述地区马铃薯甲虫的有效控制提供重要依据。  相似文献

The dynamics of a local population of the Italian locust is characterized for an area near the northeastern boundary of its range. In this area, the situation during the Italian locust outbreak is quite different from patterns in dry steppes and semideserts (which are optimal territories for the species): hopper bands occupy small plots and migrate in short distances. This character of the dynamics is likely to be determined by sufficient food quantity and heterogeneity of local anthropogenic landscapes. As a result, the efficacy of the prospective technology for population management of locusts — barrier treatment — is extremely low.  相似文献
