Three oligosporogenic mutants of Bacillus thuringiensis were assayed for toxicity against larvae of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella, and the almond moth, Ephestia cautella. The results were compared with insecticidal activity obtained from the parent strain (HD-1) and two standard B. thuringiensis formulations (HD-1-S-1971 and HD-1-S-1980) against the same insect species. The toxicity of the sporeless mutant preparations was significantly diminished against the Indian meal moth (10- to 26-fold increase in LC50) but exceeded the toxicity of the standards against the almond moth. The toxicities of the B. thuringiensis preparations toward the Indian meal moth were consistent with the number of spores in the test samples, but spores did not contribute to toxicity to E. cautella larvae. A rationale for basing dosage on soluble protein was demonstrated for use in situations where spores are not a contributing factor in toxicity.  相似文献

The Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella (Hübner), and Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier), are two globally distributed stored-grain pests. Laboratory experiments were conducted to examine the impact that corn (Zea mays L.) kernels (i.e., grain) of some Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt) corn hybrids containing CrylAb Bt delta-endotoxin have on life history attributes of Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth. Stored grain is at risk to damage from Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth; therefore, Bt corn may provide a means of protecting this commodity from damage. Thus, the objective of this research was to quantify the effects of transgenic corn seed containing CrylAb delta-endotoxin on Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth survival, fecundity, and duration of development. Experiments with Bt grain, non-Bt isolines, and non-Bt grain were conducted in environmental chambers at 27 +/- 1 degrees C and > or = 60% RH in continuous dark. Fifty eggs were placed in ventilated pint jars containing 170 g of cracked or whole corn for the Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth, respectively. Emergence and fecundity were observed for 5 wk. Emergence and fecundity of Indian meal moth and emergence of Angoumois grain moth were significantly lower for individuals reared on P33V08 and N6800Bt, MON 810 and Bt-11 transformed hybrids, respectively, than on their non-Bt transformed isolines. Longer developmental times were observed for Indian meal moth reared on P33V08 and N6800Bt than their non-Bt-transformed isolines. These results indicate that MON 810 and Bt-11 CrylAb delta-endotoxin-containing kernels reduce laboratory populations of Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth. Thus, storing Bt-transformed grain is a management tactic that warrants bin scale testing and may effectively reduce Indian meal moth and Angoumois grain moth populations in grain without application of synthetic chemicals or pesticides.  相似文献

Male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 175-200 g, six per group were fed AIN 93M diet (CON) or diets containing 500 mg Ca (LCa), 7 mg Zn (LZn), 2 mg Cu (LCu), 60 mg Zn (HZn), or 12 mg Cu (HCu) per kilogram of diet in the following combinations: control (CON), LCa+LZn (LC+Z), LCa+LZn+LCu (LC+Z+C), or HZn+HCu (HZ+C) without or with a pesticides mixture (PM); Endosulfan, Thiram, and Acephate were added to the diets at 25% of LD50/kg. Rats were fed for 2 wk (small intestinal changes) or 4 wk (tissues changes). Plasma Zn was 47% lower than CON in the experimental groups. Plasma Cu and ceruloplasmin concomitantly decreased in the LC+Z+C group and increased with the addition of PM. Kidney Cu was 40% lower in LC+Z+C group, than CON and increased by 31% with PM; in the HZ+C+PM group, kidney Cu was 38% higher than the HZ+C group. Mucosal and small intestines Ca declined by 47% in all experimental groups; PM increased Zn in the LC+Z+C and HZ+C groups; PM further decreased intestinal and mucosal Cu retention in the LC+Z+C and HZ+C groups. Data suggest that low levels of PM in the diet can induce Cu accumulation in the kidney when dietary Zn and Cu are low or high.  相似文献

When larvae of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella, were fed diets containing spores of Nosema plodiae, the number that survived to the adult stage decreased and the rate of adult emergence was retarded as the concentration of spores was increased; all surviving adults were infected. Also, when larvae were reared on diets containing spores of Nosema heterosporum, the number that survived to the adult stage decreased as the concentration of spores was increased; however, no relationship was apparent between concentration of spores and the rate of adult emergence. The LC50's of N. plodiae and N. heterosporum were 8.09 × 106 and 4.52 × 103 spores/g diet, respectively, which confirmed preliminary observations regarding the relative virulence of the two species of Nosema to Indian meal moth larvae.  相似文献

This study was performed to compare the bioavailability of two organic zinc compounds, a zinc glycinate complex and a zinc amino acid chelate with that of zinc sulphate in growing pigs fed a basal diet composed mainly of wheat, barley and soybean meal. The experiment included 96 pigs with an average body weight of 8 kg, allotted to ten groups of nine to ten pigs each. The first group received the basal diet, containing 42 mg of native zinc per kg, without zinc supplementation over a period of five weeks. The other nine groups received the basal diet supplemented with 15, 30 or 50 mg of zinc/kg as zinc sulphate, zinc glycinate or the zinc amino acid chelate. Pigs fed the unsupplemented diet had a lower growth performance (body weight gain, feed conversion ratio) than the other nine groups. Supplementation of 15 mg zinc/kg diet (irrespective of zinc form) was sufficient to yield optimum growth performance. Plasma zinc concentration and activity of alkaline phosphatase were rising with increasing zinc supplementation levels up toa maximum reached at a supplementary level of 30 or 50 mg/kg diet for activity of alkaline phosphatase and plasma zinc concentration, respectively. The response of those parameters to zinc supplementation did, however, not differ between thethree zinc compounds considered. The apparent digestibility of zinc from the diet was also not different for the three zinc compounds. In conclusion, these findings show that the bioavailability of the two organic zinc compounds did not differ from that of zinc sulphate in growing pigs fed a diet with wheat, barley and soybean meal as major components.  相似文献

以初始体重为(6.80±0.00)g左右的刺参(Apostichopus japonicus Selenka)为研究对象,在室内循环水系统中进行8周饲喂实验,研究饲料中添加不同梯度的甘草酸对刺参生长、免疫及其抗病力的影响。以基础饲料为对照组,在基础饲料中分别添加50、100和200mg/kg的甘草酸,共配制4种实验饲料。结果表明:饲料中添加甘草酸对刺参的成活率没有影响,各处理组均为100%。饲料中添加200mg/kg甘草酸可显著提高刺参的特定生长率(SGR)(P0.05)。养殖实验结束后,通过注射刺参腐皮综合症致病菌灿烂弧菌(Vibriosplendidus)进行刺参攻毒实验,攻毒后14d内对照组与50mg/kg添加组的累计发病率(分别为38.3%和36.7%)显著高于100和200mg/kg添加组(分别为30.0%和26.7%)(P<0.05)。实验可得到以下结论:(1)饲料中添加200mg/kg甘草酸可以提高刺参养殖的产量,同时可以提高刺参的非特异性免疫力和抗病力;(2)在研究中,全周期养殖期间投喂甘草酸不会产生免疫疲劳或其他副作用。    相似文献

在实验室条件下采用生命表技术研究了氰氟虫腙亚致死剂量(LC25)对小菜蛾Plutella xylostella阿维菌素抗性(AV-R)和敏感(AV-S)种群的亚致死效应, 旨在为小菜蛾对阿维菌素的抗性治理提供理论基础。结果表明: 氰氟虫腙对小菜蛾3龄幼虫抗性种群的LC50和LC25分别为0.24 mg/L和0.09 mg/L; 对敏感种群的LC50和LC25分别为0.20 mg/L和0.07 mg/L。氰氟虫腙亚致死剂量0.09 mg/L 处理小菜蛾后, 对处理代的影响表现为显著降低处理种群的化蛹率、 蛹重、 羽化率、 繁殖力; 明显延长蛹期, 缩短成虫产卵期和寿命; 对子代种群的影响表现为显著降低卵的孵化率、 幼虫各龄期的存活率, 延长发育历期。处理种群的内禀增长率(rm)、 周限增长率(λ)和净增值率(R0)显著低于对照种群(P<0.0001)。亚致死剂量的氰氟虫腙对小菜蛾抗性种群的影响大于敏感种群, 对处理代种群的影响大于子代种群。氰氟虫腙亚致死剂量可以极大地影响小菜蛾尤其是阿维菌素抗性种群的种群动态, 因此氰氟虫腙对于小菜蛾的抗性治理具有积极的作用。  相似文献

黄颡鱼饲料中添加谷胱甘肽降低藻毒素毒性作用的研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
通过60d的生长实验研究饲料中不同含量的谷胱甘肽(GSH)对黄颡鱼(Pelteobagrus fulvidraco Richardson)摄食含蓝藻粉饲料后的毒性保护作用。共配制6种近似等氮等能(粗蛋白45%,总能19.5kJ/g)的实验饲料。以不添加蓝藻粉、不添加GSH的饲料组作为正对照,其他5种饲料均添加7.5%的藻粉,微囊藻毒素(Microc ystins,MCs)含量约为58μg/g,GSH添加量分别为:0(负对照)、200、500、800和1400mg/kg。实验结果表明,第1至第30天时,负对照组与正对照组实验鱼的摄食率无显著性差异(P>0.05)。第31至第60天时,负对照组实验鱼的摄食率显著高于正对照和其他GSH添加组(P0.05),但各GSH添加组肾脏中GSH显著低于正对照而高于负对照(P<0.05)。200、500和800mg/kg GSH添加组肝脏和肌肉中丙二醛(MDA)含量显著低于负对照(P<0.05)。在整个实验期间,随着饲料中GSH含量的增加,肝脏、肾脏、全肠和肌肉中微囊藻毒素含量先显著下降,当GSH添加量为500和800mg/kg时达到稳定,直至GSH添加量为1400mg/kg时显著上升。根据对黄颡鱼增重,肝脏和肌肉中MDA的含量以及组织中毒素的分析,在饲料中添加500-800mg/kg GSH可以有效缓解黄颡鱼饲料中微囊藻毒素的毒性。    相似文献

Soya bean is the main protein source in poultry feed but rising prices make an alternative protein source necessary. Insects, such as the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens), may be an attractive solution for hens, although little information is available on their effect on egg quality. The present study aims to fill this gap by testing the effect of 100% replacement of soya bean with H. illucens larva meal in the diet of Lohmann Brown Classic laying hens for 21 weeks. At the end of the trial, the eggs were characterized for parameters such as weight, colour, proximate composition of albumen and yolk, and content of carotenoids, tocopherols and cholesterol. The fatty acid profile of yolks was also determined. Hens fed the insect-based diet produced eggs (HIM group) with a higher proportion of yolk than the group fed the soya bean-based diet (SBM group). HIM was associated with redder yolks (red index 5.63 v. 1.36) than SBM. HIM yolks were richer in γ-tocopherol (4.0 against 2.4 mg/kg), lutein (8.6 against 4.9 mg/kg), β-carotene (0.33 against 0.19 mg/kg) and total carotenoids (15 against 10.5 mg/kg) than SBM yolks. The fatty acid composition of HIM yolks was almost identical to that of SBM yolks. Finally, HIM yolks contained 11% less cholesterol than SBM yolks. These results suggest that H. illucens larva meal is a suitable total substitute for soya bean meal in the diet of Lohmann Brown Classic laying hens. A sustainable alternative to the plant protein source therefore seems feasible.  相似文献

A total of 72 barrows (initial body weight 16.7 kg) was used, to evaluate the influence of microbial phytase supplementation alone or in combination with calcium to barley soybean meal diets on the accumulation of cadmium (Cd) in kidney, liver, muscle, brain and bone. The control group received the basal diet with 6 g Ca and a low native Cd concentration of 0.03 mg/kg dry matter (DM). In the experimental groups 2, 3, 4 and 5 dietary cadmium concentration was elevated to 0.78 mg/kg DM. The diet of group 3 was supplemented with 800 U microbial phytase/kg, the diet of group 4 with 6 g Ca/kg. The diet of group 5 contained both supplements. The addition of microbial phytase caused an increase of Cd retention in kidney and liver at 30 and 50 kg body weight. This effect was counteracted by the contemporary addition of calcium. A supplementation of Ca alone showed no effect on the Cd accumulation in kidney and liver. In muscle, brain and bone no effects of phytase and calcium on the accumuLation of Cd could be found.  相似文献

Wheat was fumigated with phosphine, methyl bromide, CCl4-carbon bisulfide (80:20 by volume), or ethylene dichloride-CCl4 (75:25 by volume) after it had been treated with either of two formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis or with a granulosis virus of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella. Only methyl bromide had an adverse effect: the granulosis virus was inactivated. Spores of B. thuringiensis washed from treated wheat after fumigation with methyl bromide did not produce colonies on nutrient agar plates, but the activity of the B. thuringiensis against Indian meal moths was not affected.  相似文献

Spodoptera litura (F.) larvae were fed with artificial food containing four different concentrations of copper (25, 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg). Copper affected growth, development, and population dynamics of late instar larvae. Our results indicate that the fourth and fifth instar survival rates were significantly reduced at 50-200 mg/kg copper (Cu2+). Moreover, all the Cu2+ treatments significantly reduced pupation and moth emergence rates in a dose-dependent manner. Larvae fed 25 or 50 mg/kg Cu2+ showed significant reductions in development period compared with non-Cu controls, and the pupation duration of animals fed 200 mg/kg was significantly longer than in non-Cu controls. All Cu2+ concentrations significantly reduced individual pupal weights compared with controls. In addition, Cu2+ at some concentrations significantly affected fertility parameters, such as doubling population time (DT), the net reproduction rate (R(o)), the mean generation time (T), the intrinsic rate of increase (r(m)), and the finite increase rate (A). Our study demonstrates that low concentrations of Cu2+ in the diet (25 and 50 mg/kg) shorten the generation time by 4-5 d, whereas higher Cu2+ concentrations (100 and 200 mg/kg) increase DT for 1-2 d.  相似文献

In a previous study, D-chiroinositol added to a meal (0.5 g/kg) resulted in significantly lower postprandial plasma glucose concentrations without an increase in insulin concentrations in obese insulin-resistant monkeys. The present report describes the effects of another isomer of inositol, myoinositol, on postprandial plasma glucose and insulin concentrations and on urine glucose concentrations in 6 similarly insulin-resistant monkeys. The three 5 day study periods included a control period (liquid diet ad libitum) and 2 experimental periods (liquid diet ad libitum with either 1.5 g/kg/day myoinositol or D-chiroinositol added). Twenty-four hour urine samples were collected during each 5 day period. On the sixth day of each period the monkeys were anesthetized 110 min after completing either the control meal (15 ml/kg) or the experimental meals (1.5 g/kg myoinositol or D-chiroinositol) and plasma samples were obtained at 120, 150,180, 210, 240, 270 and 300 min. The plasma glucose concentration was lower after the meal with myoinositol compared to the control meal at 120, 150 and 180 min (p's<0.05). The plasma insulin concentration was lower after the meal with myoinositol compared to the control meal at 150 and 180 min (p's<0.05). In addition, 24 hour urine glucose concentrations were lower during the myoinositol diet compared to the control diet (p<0.001). The plasma glucose concentration was lower after the meal with D-chiroinositol compared to the control meal at 150, 240, 270 and 300 min (p's≥0.05). In obese insulin-resistant monkeys, myoinositol added to the diet lowers urine glucose concentrations and both myoinositol and D-chiroinositol added to a meal lower postprandial plasma glucose concentrations without increasing postprandial insulin concentrations. Therefore, myoinositol, like D-chiroinositol, may be a useful agent for reducing meal-induced hyperglycemia without inducing hyperinsulinemia in insulin-resistant subjects.  相似文献

Water consumption acutely reduces meal energy intake (EI) among middle‐aged and older adults. Our objectives were to determine if premeal water consumption facilitates weight loss among overweight/obese middle‐aged and older adults, and to determine if the ability of premeal water consumption to reduce meal EI is sustained after a 12‐week period of increased water consumption. Adults (n = 48; 55–75 years, BMI 25–40 kg/m2) were assigned to one of two groups: (i) hypocaloric diet + 500 ml water prior to each daily meal (water group), or (ii) hypocaloric diet alone (nonwater group). At baseline and week 12, each participant underwent two ad libitum test meals: (i) no preload (NP), and (ii) 500 ml water preload (WP). Meal EI was assessed at each test meal and body weight was assessed weekly for 12 weeks. Weight loss was ~2 kg greater in the water group than in the nonwater group, and the water group (β = ?0.87, P < 0.001) showed a 44% greater decline in weight over the 12 weeks than the nonwater group (β = ?0.60, P < 0.001). Test meal EI was lower in the WP than NP condition at baseline, but not at week 12 (baseline: WP 498 ± 25 kcal, NP 541 ± 27 kcal, P = 0.009; 12‐week: WP 480 ± 25 kcal, NP 506 ± 25 kcal, P = 0.069). Thus, when combined with a hypocaloric diet, consuming 500 ml water prior to each main meal leads to greater weight loss than a hypocaloric diet alone in middle‐aged and older adults. This may be due in part to an acute reduction in meal EI following water ingestion.  相似文献

The granulovirus of Cydia pomonella (L.) (CpGV) offers potential for selective control of codling moth. Two major limitations of CpGV are its narrow host range and lack of persistence in the orchard agroecosystem. The nucleopolyhedroviruses of the alfalfa looper Autographa californica (Speyer) (AcMNPV) and those of the celery looper Anagrapha falcifera (Kirby) (AfMNPV) have broad host ranges. Comparative assays of CpGV, AcMNPV, and AfMNPV against codling moth neonate larvae revealed a 54-93-fold greater susceptibility of codling moth to the granulovirus than to the two nucleopolyhedroviruses based on the LC(50) values for each virus. The LC(50)s for CpGV, AfMNPV, and AcMNPV were 32.7 capsules/mm(2), 1.77 x 10(3) occlusion bodies (OBs)/mm(2), and 3.05 x 10(3)OBs/mm(2), respectively. The LT(50) determined for AfMNPV using an approximate LC(95) of the virus against neonate larvae was 3.6 days. Histological examination of tissues in moribund codling moth larvae that had been treated with AfMNPV revealed the presence of nonoccluded and unenveloped virus rods in midgut tissue. Neither OBs nor signs of infection were detected in other tissues. The activity of AfMNPV was also evaluated in three other tortricid apple pests (obliquebanded leafroller, Choristoneura rosaceana (Harris); Pandemis leafroller, Pandemis pyrusana Kearfott; and the oriental fruit moth, Grapholitha molesta (Busck)). Codling and Oriental fruit moths were significantly more susceptible to AfMNPV than were the two leafroller species.  相似文献

Susceptibility of Podisus maculiventris to the insect growth regulator teflubenzuron, the carbamate methomyl, the pyrethroid deltamethrin, and the bioinsecticide Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (Bactospeine) was evaluated in the laboratory. Newly-moulted fourth instars and seven-day-old female adults were exposed to formulated materials of each compound via ingestion for 48 h. Teflubenzuron was highly toxic to fourth instars (LC 50 = 14.7 mg a.i. l -1 ) of the predator, but proved to be harmless to female adults. Both fourth instars and females suffered the highest mortality when they were exposed to methomyl (LC 50 = 5.4 and 10.6 mg a.i. l -1 , respectively). Deltamethrin was relatively safe for the predator in either stage; however, fourth instars were more tolerant to the pyrethroid than females (LC 50 = 158.8 and 43.4 mg a.i. l -1 , respectively). Neither fourth instars nor females were affected by B. thuringiensis at 10 000 mg formulated material l -1 . Reproductive capacity of the predator was also examined when applying field concentrations of teflubenzuron (200 mg a.i. l -1 ) or deltamethrin (12.5 mg a.i. l -1 ) via ingestion. Treatment with deltamethrin only prolonged preoviposition period. A marked decline in egg hatch was observed when the insects were exposed to teflubenzuron compared with the control (7 vs 63%, respectively). Fourth and fifth instars that had ingested sublethal doses of teflubenzuron demonstrated longer developmental times than did those of the control. Ingestion experiments suggest that use of deltamethrin and B. thuringiensis may be compatible with releases of P. maculiventris . In contrast, populations of the predator may be harmed when methomyl or teflubenzuron are applied.  相似文献

Jian)生长、营养物质消化率和沉积率、血浆生化指标及肠道组织学的影响。配制含鱼粉5%和磷酸二氢钙1.5%的正对照饲料、无鱼粉饲料、无鱼粉低磷饲料(磷酸二氢钙1.0%)和在无鱼粉饲料中添加175 mg/kg蛋白酶, 在无鱼粉低磷饲料中添加175 mg/kg蛋白酶+300 mg/kg植酸酶的5组等蛋白饲料, 饲喂初始体重为(52.5±2.0) g的建鲤10周。结果表明: 对照组具有最高增重率和最低饲料系数(P<0.05), 无鱼粉饲料和无鱼粉低磷饲料组的增重率、蛋白质和磷沉积率、蛋白质和钙消化率均显著下降(P<0.05); 在无鱼粉饲料中添加蛋白酶后, 提高了建鲤增重率13.1%(P<0.05), 达到和对照组基本一致的水平; 显著提高了蛋白质、钙消化率和肠绒毛高度, 降低了饲料系数(P<0.05); 在无鱼粉低磷饲料中添加蛋白酶和植酸酶后, 显著提高了脂肪、蛋白质、磷沉积率和蛋白质、钙、磷消化率(P<0.05), 增加了前肠绒毛长度和隐窝深度(P<0.05), 提高了血浆磷浓度(P<0.05)。以上结果表明, 在全植物性蛋白饲料中添加蛋白酶, 在全植物蛋白的低磷饲料中同时添加蛋白酶和植酸酶可以促进建鲤生长, 提高对营养物质的消化率和沉积率, 促进肠道生长发育。  相似文献

The effect of intracerebroventricular (ICV) injections of thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) on the propulsive motility of the gastrointestinal tract was examined in rats. The distance travelled by charcoal meal through the small intestine, measured in terms of percentage of its total length, was recorded as the index of propulsive motility. The results were as follows: (1) The propulsive distance of charcoal meal was significantly reduced in a dose-dependent manner after ICV injections of TRH (1 microgram/10 microliters, 5 micrograms/10 microliters or 10 micrograms/10 microliters) (P less than 0.01-0.001) The effects were abolished by injection of atropine (5 micrograms/10 microliters ICV). (2) The gastrointestinal propulsive motility decreased markedly (P less than 0.01) after injection of a larger dose of TRH (50 micrograms/100 g) into the hypodermis. The effects were not completely blocked by subcutaneous injections of propranolol (5 mg/kg). (3) No effects (P greater than 0.05) were found on the inhibition of gastrointestinal propulsive motility after ICV injections of regitine (2.5 mg/kg im, 50 micrograms/50 microliters ICV) or propranolol (5 mg/kg im, 50 micrograms/50 microliters ICV). The results indicate that TRH has an inhibitory effect on the propulsive motility of gastrointestinal tract, which may be mediated via the non-adrenergic inhibitory nerve of the vagal nerves.  相似文献
