Bidirectional movement of solutes between the intestinal lumen and systemic circulation is restricted by tissue barriers that may be altered under conditions such as intestinal infection. In a study using an in vitro everted sac preparation to assess small intestinal permeability in a lumen-to-serosa direction, 51Cr-EDTA movement was compared regionally in the jejunum and ileum of rats infected and uninfected by tapeworms. Whereas jejunal segments showed no significant differences in permeability to 51Cr-EDTA at 6, 15, or 32 days postinfection (dpi), ileal segments displayed an increased permeability on 15 and 32 dpi, but not 6 dpi. The alterations in permeability were not reversed 1 wk after removal of the tapeworm from the intestine. In conclusion, the strictly lumen-dwelling tapeworm infection allows increased movement of molecules from the lumen into ileal, but not jejunal, tissues by 15 dpi.  相似文献

Accurate information on changes in small intestinal microflora in dogs is rather limited because of difficulties in obtaining samples of small intestinal chyme. In the study reported here, intussuscepted nipple valves were surgically placed into the jejunum of seven laboratory beagles to obtain intestinal juice samples. The influence of the fistula on intestinal motility was determined by use of barium-impregnated polyethylene spheres (BIPS) and on microflora by use of bacterial culturing. The BIPS were fed two weeks before surgery and again five weeks after surgery. Bacterial samples were collected before (fecal samples), during (small intestinal samples) and 11 weeks after surgery. There were no surgical complications, and the animals tolerated the fistula well. Mean orocolic transit percentage was 93% before and 83% after surgery, and notable changes in gastrointestinal motility were not seen, except in one dog. The surgery did not markedly alter the bacterial flora in feces. Microflora did change in small intestinal samples; however, methodologic factors may explain most of these differences. In conclusion, the nipple valve is a promising method that creates easy and safe long-term access to the jejunum and appears not to have an influence on intestinal function.  相似文献

To determine the stereospecific pharmacokinetics and gastrointestinal permeability (GI) changes (surrogate measures of toxicity) in the rat following oral administration of S, R, and racemic ketorolac (KT), optically pure enantiomers (S and R 2.5 mg/kg), and racemic KT (5 mg/kg) were administered orally to male Sprague-Dawley rats and plasma samples were collected for 6 h post-dose for pharmacokinetic assessments. KT-induced changes in GI permeability were assessed using sucrose and 51Cr-EDTA as markers of gastroduodenal and distal intestinal permeability, respectively. After the racemate, R-KT was predominant in plasma (AUC S/R, 0.45). No significant differences in pharmacokinetic indices were evident following administration of the racemate as compared with individual enantiomers. In plasma, there was only negligible S-KT after administration of R-KT. After S-KT, on the other hand, AUC of R-KT was found to be 6.7% of that of S-KT. Both permeability markers showed considerable interanimal variability. Gastroduodenal permeability was significantly increased from baseline by the racemate but not by either of the two enantiomers administered alone. Permeability to 51Cr-EDTA was not significantly increased above baseline for any of the treatments. The plasma concentration of R-KT found after administration of S-KT may be from the < 2% chiral impurity which appears magnified due to its slower clearance as compared with its antipode. There is no evidence of a pharmacokinetic interaction between the enantiomers. Since 2.5 mg/kg S-KT is somewhat less toxic on the gastroduodenum than 5 mg/kg racemate, it may be a safer alternative to the latter, at least in the rat model.  相似文献

The deleterious effects of stress on the gastrointestinal tract seem to be mainly mediated by the induction of intestinal barrier dysfunction and subsequent subtle mucosal inflammation. Cannabinoid 1 receptor (CB1R) is expressed in the mammalian gut under physiological circumstances. The aim of this investigation is to study the possible role of CB1R in the maintenance of mucosal homeostasis after stress exposure. CB1R knockout mice (CB1R(-/-)) and their wild-type (WT) counterparts were exposed to immobilization and acoustic (IA) stress for 2 h per day during 4 consecutive days. Colonic protein expression of the inducible forms of the nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase (NOS2 and COX2), IgA production, permeability to (51)Cr-EDTA, and bacterial translocation to mesenteric lymph nodes were evaluated. Stress exposure induced greater expression of proinflammatory enzymes NOS2 and COX2 in colonic mucosa of CB1R(-/-) mice when compared with WT animals. These changes were related with a greater degree of colonic barrier dysfunction in CB1R(-/-) animals determined by 1) a significantly lower IgA secretion, 2) higher paracellular permeability to (51)Cr-EDTA, and 3) higher bacterial translocation, both under basal conditions and after IA stress exposure. Pharmacological antagonism with rimonabant reproduced stress-induced increase of proinflammatory enzymes in the colon described in CB1R(-/-) mice. In conclusion, CB1R exerts a protective role in the colon in vivo through the regulation of intestinal secretion of IgA and paracellular permeability. Pharmacological modulation of cannabinoid system within the gastrointestinal tract might be therapeutically useful in conditions on which intestinal inflammation and barrier dysfunction takes place after exposure to stress.  相似文献

High serum homocysteine (Hcy) level is regarded as an indicator for impairment of folate-dependent methionine cycle and is associated with oxidative stress. In a case control study, we evaluated eighty 3-5 years old Omani children (40 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and 40 their age and gender matched controls) for their fasting serum homocysteine levels as a biomarker of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Serum folate and vitamin B(12) status were also evaluated. The serum homocysteine was measured using an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) technique whereas folate and vitamin B(12) were measured using an automated random access immune-assay system. The results indicated that mean serum Hcy levels were significantly (P < 0.05) higher in autistic children (20.1 ± 3.3 μmol/L) as compared to controls (9.64 ± 2.1 μmol/L). Significantly (P < 0.05) lower serum folate (1.8 ± 0.4 μg/L) and vitamin B(12) (191.1 ± 0.9 pg/mL) levels were observed in autistic children as compared to controls (6.1 ± 0.6 μg/L and 288.9 ± 1.3 pg/mL, respectively). The levels of homocysteine in autistic children were also much higher as compared to normal reference values (5-15 μmol/L). The results suggest that high fasting serum homocysteine and low folate and vitamin B(12) levels could be used as clinical biomarkers for an early diagnosis and management of ASD.  相似文献

A capsule containing an aromatase inhibitor (4-androsten-4-ol-3,17-dione) was subcutaneously implanted in four oligozoospermic beagle dogs and one azoospermic beagle dog with high plasma estradiol-17beta (E2) concentrations (15-19 pg/ml) and low plasma testosterone (T) concentrations (0.6-0.8 ng/ml) for 8 weeks and the effect of the aromatase inhibitor on spermatogenic dysfunction was assessed. Plasma E2 and T concentrations and semen quality were examined at 1 week intervals from 3 weeks before to 12 weeks after the start of treatment. Testicular biopsies were done twice (capsule implantation and removal). Plasma E2 concentrations of all dogs decreased (9-14 pg/ml) and plasma T concentrations increased (2.0-2.6 ng/ml) from 3 weeks after capsule implantation to capsule removal. The mean number of spermatozoa ejaculated by all four oligozoospermic dogs between 4 and 9 weeks after implantation was higher (127 x 10(6) to 205 x 10(6)) than before implantation (20 x 10(6) to 38 x 10(6)) (P < 0.05 and 0.01). Very low numbers (2 x 10(4) to 4 x 10(4)) of immotile spermatozoa were observed between 7 and 8 weeks after implantation in the semen collected from the dog with azoospermia. Before implantation, a few spermatozoa were seen in only one-fifth of the seminiferous tubules in this dog; 8 weeks after implantation, the mean diameter and mean number of round spermatids in the seminiferous tubules in all five dogs were higher than before implantation (P < 0.05). Implantation of the capsule containing the aromatase inhibitor in infertile dogs with abnormally high plasma E2 concentrations improved their spermatogenic function, concurrent with decreased plasma E2 and increased plasma T.  相似文献

Steady-state lymph-to-plasma concentration ratios (L/Ps) of neutral dextrans, cationic DEAE dextrans, and endogenous proteins were determined under normal and increased permeability conditions in six unanesthetized yearling sheep prepared with chronic lung lymph fistulas. Fluorescent dextrans with radii ranging from 1 to 30 nm were intravenously infused, and after 24 h, perilla ketone (PK) was given to alter permeability while the dextran infusion was maintained. Plasma and lymph samples were collected before and after PK administration and analyzed for dextran and protein concentrations after high-performance liquid chromatography size separation. Under both baseline and increased permeability conditions, DEAE dextrans had higher L/Ps than neutral dextrans of similar size but lower L/Ps than proteins of similar size. Comparison of L/Ps before and after PK revealed that the percentage change in permeability for neutral and DEAE dextrans was significantly larger than that for proteins. These results suggest that 1) the pulmonary microvascular barrier behaves as a net negative barrier, 2) some transport mechanisms for proteins and dextrans are different, and 3) neutral and cationic dextrans are more sensitive markers than proteins of the same size for assessing changes in pulmonary capillary permeability.  相似文献

Previous investigators in our laboratory have demonstrated that peptide YY (PYY), a putative gut hormone, exerts a potent emetic effect when administered intravenously to conscious dogs. The current study was carried out to examine the effects of an emetic dose of PYY on cardiovascular status, splanchnic blood flow distribution (estimated using 15 micron microspheres) and small intestinal motility in anesthetized dogs. PYY, infused i.v. at a dose of 25 pmol/kg/min led to a localized significant reduction in small intestinal muscularis externa blood flow both 15 and 30 min after the start of PYY infusion in both jejunum and ileum. This decreased muscularis perfusion was not accompanied by any significant change in whole gut wall blood flow and was explained on the basis of an observed significant redistribution of blood flow away from the muscularis towards the mucosa/submucosa. Similar, although non-significant, effects of PYY on colonic blood flow distribution were also observed. Despite the effects on jejunum and ileum, PYY exerted minimal effects on duodenal blood flow. The decrease in ileal and jejunal muscularis blood flows was accompanied by a significant increase in the amplitude of intestinal contractions in these regions. Frequency of contractions was unaltered however. These results demonstrate that PYY infusion leads to concurrent changes in small intestinal blood flow and motility.  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Helicobacter pylori infection causes chronic gastritis and leads to peptic ulcer and gastric adenocarcinoma. An impaired gastric mucosal barrier could be involved in these processes. Our aim was to investigate gastric barrier function in H. pylori-induced gastritis. METHODS: Stripped gastric mucosal tissues of H. pylori-infected Mongolian gerbils (4 weeks and 70 weeks after inoculation, respectively) and controls were mounted in Ussing chambers. (51)Cr-EDTA (paracellular probe) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP, protein antigen) were used to assess mucosal barrier function. The electrophysiological parameters of the mucosa (transepithelial potential, short circuit current, and transepithelial resistance) were monitored as measurements of barrier integrity and viability. Tissue histology was performed to assess inflammation. RESULTS: In the antrum, both short-term gastritis [4.68 (3.88-5.74) x 10(-6) vs. control 2.86 (2.34-3.77) x 10(-6) cm/s, p <.001] and gastritis of long-standing [5.72 (3.88-10.94) x 10(-6) cm/s, p <.001 vs. control] showed increased permeability to (51)Cr-EDTA. In long-standing antral gastritis there was also an increased HRP flux [9.01 (2.98-45.02) vs. control 0.52 (0.06-1.20) pmol/h/cm(2), p <.001]. In the corpus, permeability to (51)Cr-EDTA was increased only in long-standing gastritis [4.63 (3.64-7.45) x 10(-6) vs. control 2.86 (2.12-3.98) x 10(-6) cm/s, p <.01]. Gastric mucosal permeability to (51)Cr-EDTA was correlated to histological inflammation and inflammatory activity. The levels of serum anti-H. pylori immunoglobulin G were positively correlated to HRP flux and (51)Cr-EDTA permeation. CONCLUSIONS: Helicobacter pylori-induced gastritis in Mongolian gerbils was associated with a long-standing gastric mucosal barrier dysfunction. The barrier defect extended from the antrum into the corpus over time. This impaired barrier function may contribute to perpetuation of chronic inflammation and may be involved in H. pylori-associated carcinogenesis.  相似文献

Human jejunal brush border folate conjugase (EC 3.4.22.-) was partially purified and characterized. Three drugs known to be associated with clinical folate deficiency were tested for inhibition of the partially purified enzyme. Using jejunal mucosa from obese patients undergoing intestinal bypass surgery, brush border folate conjugase was purified 50-80-fold by centrifugation, Triton X-100 solubilization and DEAE-Sephadex and Sephacryl S-200 chromatography. Using synthetic pteroyldiglutamyl[14C]glutamate as substrate, the enzyme was found to have a pH optimum of 6.5 and an apparent Km of 1.6 micro M. Incubation of the enzyme with synthetic pteroyl[14C]glutamylhexaglutamate resulted in a spectrum of shorter-chain 14C-labeled pteroylglutamates at 60 min. Pteroyl[14C]glutamate was the major product at 120 min, with quantitative recovery of free glutamate in the incubation medium. Salicylazosulfapyridine was a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme (Ki = 0.13 mM), while ethanol, diphenylhydantoin and salicylazosulfapyridine metabolites had no effect. These data suggest that brush border folate conjugase is an exopeptidase which progressively hydrolyzes glutamyl units from pteroylpolyglutamate, leaving pteroylmonoglutamate as the folate form available for intestinal transport. Inhibition of brush border folate conjugase by salicylazosulfapyridine provides a mechanism for folate malabsorption and deficiency in chronic users of this drug.  相似文献

Dietary folate, a vitamin required for DNA synthesis and cell regeneration, occurs as pteroylpolyglutamates that are hydrolyzed to pteroylglutamate during the process of intestinal absorption. Studies from our laboratory over the past 15 years have shown that jejunal brush-border folate hydrolase is essential and rate-limiting in folate absorption. Brush-border folate hydrolase activity and pteroylpolyglutamate hydrolysis are inhibited in disease and conditions associated with folate deficiency, including celiac and tropical sprue, the use of sulfasalazine to treat inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic alcoholism. Brush-border folate hydrolase is an exopeptidase located on the jejunal brush-border surface that liberates hydrolytic products of pteroylpolyglutamates in a progressive fashion, with a final release of pteroylglutamate. Subsequent steps in folate absorption include uptake by a brush-border folate-binding-protein receptor and transport across the brush-border membrane into the enterocyte. These steps are probably followed by an intracellular synthesis of pteroylglutamates for folate-dependent reactions and intracellular hydrolysis to pteroylglutamate for transport across the basolateral membrane to the portal circulation. In pigs, the active form of jejunal brush-border folate hydrolase has a molecular weight of 240 kd and is probably a homodimer of the 120-kd protein found after immunoprecipitation with specific antibody. Regulating the synthesis and expression of brush-border folate hydrolase may be critical to the availability of dietary folate.  相似文献

Patients with severe short-bowel syndrome (SBS) often require long-term total parenteral nutrition (TPN) to maintain their nutritional status because of limited intestinal adaptation. Growth factors, including insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I), are under investigation to promote intestinal adaptation and tolerance to oral feeding. We investigated structural and functional adaptation of the jejunum and colon in four groups of rats maintained with TPN for 7 days after a 60% jejunoileal resection and cecectomy or sham surgery and treatment with IGF-I or vehicle. Resection alone did not stimulate jejunal growth. IGF-I significantly increased jejunal mucosal mass, enterocyte proliferation, and migration rates. IGF-I decreased jejunal sucrase specific activity and reduced active ion transport and ionic permeability; resection alone had no effect. In contrast, resection significantly increased colonic mass and crypt depth but had no effect on active ion transport or ionic permeability. IGF-I had minimal effects on colonic structure. IGF-I but not resection stimulates jejunal adaptation, whereas resection but not IGF-I stimulates colonic growth in rats subjected to a model for human SBS. IGF-I treatment may improve intestinal adaptation in humans with SBS.  相似文献

目的:研究雷诺嗪缓释片在比格犬体内的药物代谢动力学,并与参照制剂比较,为其是否具有缓释特征提供依据。方法:首先建立血浆中雷诺嗪浓度的液相色谱-串联质谱联用检测方法,并考察方法的专属性、准确度、日内日间精密度、回收率、线性范围等。采用随机对照试验设计,将12只比格犬随机分为A、B组,每组6只,分别服用1片雷诺嗪缓释片(500 mg/片)和1片参比制剂雷诺嗪片(500 mg/片),均于给药前和给药后不同时间点采集血样,用已建立的液质联用方法检测血样中雷诺嗪的血药浓度,计算2组比格犬的药代动力学参数。结果:受试组和参照组半衰期t1/2分别为13.3±8.3和2.36±0.92 h,峰浓度Cmax分别为923.9±340.5和3205±1314 ng/mL,达峰时间Tmax分别为1.6±0.38和0.88±0.14 h,曲线下面积AUC0~∞分别为6252.1±2860.3和9916±4305(ng·h)/mL,清除率Cl分别为11.3±9.8和6.39±3.95 L/(kg·h)。受试制剂雷诺嗪缓释片和参比制剂雷诺嗪片的药代特征和血药浓度-时间变化趋势明显不同,受试组血药浓度缓慢上升和下降,峰值较低;而参照组血药浓度峰值显著高于受试组,有明显的突释效应。结论:液质联用检测方法准确可靠,适合体内药代动力学研究;与参比制剂雷诺嗪片相比,受试制剂雷诺嗪缓释片符合缓释片的基本药代动力学特点。  相似文献

The microbiota of the small intestine is poorly known because of difficulties in sampling. In this study, we examined whether the organisms cultured from the jejunum and feces resemble each other. Small-intestinal fluid samples were collected from 22 beagle dogs with a permanent jejunal fistula in parallel with fecal samples. In addition, corresponding samples from seven of the dogs were collected during a 4-week period (days 4, 10, 14, and 28) to examine the stability of the microbiota. In the jejunal samples, aerobic/facultative and anaerobic bacteria were equally represented, whereas anaerobes dominated in the fecal samples. Despite lower numbers of bacteria in the jejunum (range, 10(2) to 10(6) CFU/g) than in feces (range, 10(8) to 10(11) CFU/g), some microbial groups were more prevalent in the small intestine: staphylococci, 64% versus 36%; nonfermentative gram-negative rods, 27% versus 9%; and yeasts, 27% versus 5%, respectively. In contrast, part of the fecal dominant microbiota (bile-resistant Bacteroides spp., Clostridium hiranonis-like organisms, and lactobacilli) was practically absent in the jejunum. Many species were seldom isolated simultaneously from both sample types, regardless of their overall prevalence. In conclusion, the small intestine contains a few bacterial species at a time with vastly fluctuating counts, opposite to the results obtained for the colon, where the major bacterial groups remain relatively constant over time. Qualitative and quantitative differences between the corresponding jejunal and fecal samples indicate the inability of fecal samples to represent the microbiotas present in the upper gut.  相似文献

Malabsorption of folate polyglutamates prepared from yeast has been shown in eight patients with untreated tropical sprue and in three out of six patients receiving therapy for sprue. The absorptive defect for folate polyglutamates among these 14 patients occurred more frequently and in all but one patient more severely than for folic acid.Folate polyglutamates, the principal dietary form of folate, probably require deconjugation by the jejunal enzyme, folate conjugase, before absorption. The mean concentration of jejunal folate conjugase of 21 patients with untreated sprue and of 13 patients with sprue receiving therapy were both significantly less than the mean concentration in a control group. Nevertheless, all but five of the 34 patients had jejunal folate concentrations within the control range. There was no correlation in the individual patients between the jejunal folate conjugase concentration measured in vitro and the ability to absorb folate polyglutamates—nine patients having normal jejunal folate conjugase levels despite showing malabsorption of folate polyglutamates.  相似文献

Folates are carriers of one-carbon units and are metabolized by 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and other enzymes that use riboflavin, cobalamin, or vitamin B6 as cofactors. These B vitamins are essential for the remethylation and transsulfuration of homocysteine, which is an important intermediate in one-carbon metabolism. We studied the MTHFR 677C-->T polymorphism and B vitamins as modulators of one-carbon metabolism in 10,601 adults from the Norwegian Colorectal Cancer Prevention (NORCCAP) cohort, using plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) as the main outcome measure. Mean concentrations of plasma tHcy were 10.4 micromol/liter, 10.9 micromol/liter, and 13.3 micromol/liter in subjects with the CC (51%), CT (41%), and TT (8%) genotypes, respectively. The MTHFR 677C-->T polymorphism, folate, riboflavin, cobalamin, and vitamin B6 were independent predictors of tHcy in multivariate models (P<.001), and genotype effects were strongest when B vitamins were low (P相似文献

目的:探讨同型半胱氨酸(Hcy)与不同类型脑卒中的关系,并对高Hcy血症成因作初步分析。方法:测定225例缺血性脑卒中和40例出血性脑卒中患者以及85例同龄健康受试者的血浆Hcy水平以及叶酸、维生素B12的浓度,将缺血性卒中按照TOAST分型分为不同临床亚组--动脉粥样硬化性脑血栓形成组,腔隙性脑梗死组,心源性脑栓塞组以及其他或不明原因脑梗死组,并分别与健康组进行对照研究。结果:血浆同型半胱氨酸平均水平在动脉粥样硬化性脑梗死组患者为(16.19±4.35)μmol/L,腔隙性脑梗死患者为(16.89±6.41)μmol/L,心源性脑栓塞组为(18.23±4.83)μmol/L,其他或不明原因脑梗死患者为(17.31±2.56)μmol/L,脑出血组患者为(14.91±4.54)μmol/L,均高于对照组(7.20±7.91)μmol/L,P〈0.05;各缺血性卒中组间同型半胱氨酸水平差异无显著性(P〈0.05);缺血性卒中组患者血浆同型半胱氨酸水平高于出血性卒中组(P〈0.05)。卒中各组叶酸和维生素B12浓度均显著低于对照组(P〈0.05)。结论:血浆同型半胱氨酸在不同类型卒中中均升高,高血浆Hcy水平可能是脑卒中的独立危险因素,叶酸和VitB12缺乏可能是导致高Hcy血症的重要原因。  相似文献

We examined the impact of chronic stress on rat growth rate and intestinal epithelial physiology and the role of mast cells in these responses. Mast cell-deficient (Ws/Ws) rats and +/+ littermate controls were submitted to water avoidance stress or sham stress, 1 h/day, for 5 days. Seven hours after the last sham or stress session, jejunal segments were mounted in Ussing chambers, in which secretion and permeability were measured. Body weight (as a growth index) and food intake were determined daily. Stress increased baseline jejunal epithelial ion secretion (indicated by short-circuit current), ionic permeability (conductance), and macromolecular permeability (horseradish peroxidase flux) in +/+ rats, but not in Ws/Ws rats, compared with nonstressed controls. Stress induced weight loss and reduced food intake similarly in the groups. In +/+ rats, these parameters remained altered 24-72 h after the cessation of stress. Modulation of stress-induced mucosal mast cell activation may help in the management of certain intestinal conditions involving epithelial pathophysiology.  相似文献

BackgroundResearch to date suggests that nickel affects not only the metabolism of vitamin B12 but also folates and thus may affect hematopoiesis processes.ObjectiveThe aim of the study was to examine the relationship of nickel (Ni) status to red blood cell (RBC) parameters and serum vitamin B12, folate and homocysteine concentrations in the course of normal pregnancy and in pregnant women with anemia.MethodsThe study included fifty-three pregnant women recruited to the study from the Lower Silesia region of Poland, 17 % of whom developed anemia. Nickel concentration was determined in urine, whole blood and food samples by atomic absorption spectrometry. At the same time as the food and urine samples were taken, blood was also collected for the determination of RBC parameters and serum vitamin B12, homocysteine and folate concentrations.ResultsThe median reported Ni intake, and the urinary and whole blood nickel contents for the studied pregnant women for the first trimester were respectively – 162.46 μg/day, 3.98 μg/L and 3.32 μg/L; for the second trimester – 110.48 μg/day, 6.86 μg/L and 1.04 μg/L; and for the third trimester – 132.20 μg/day, 3.41 μg/L and 0.70 μg/L. With regard to Ni concentration in whole blood (p = 0.0204) and in urine (p = 0.0003), the differences in the values for individual trimesters were statistically significant. The whole blood Ni level was significantly higher (9.28 vs 3.62 μg/L, p = 0.0114), while the concentration of homosysteine was significantly lower (4.09 vs 5.04 μmol/L, p = 0.0165) in pregnant women with anemia compared to those without anemia. The whole blood Ni concentration was negatively correlated with almost all RBC parameters in non-anemic pregnant women.ConclusionsNi status changes with the development of normal pregnancy, and in the case of anemia, an increase in Ni concentration in whole blood is observed. The demonstrated correlations between the Ni status in pregnant women and RBC parameters as well as serum vitamin B12 and folate concentrations suggest that nickel is associated with the methionine–folate cycle, iron homeostasis and bacterial synthesis of vitamin B12 in humans.  相似文献
