Variations in the structure and dynamics of a phytoplankton community were determined during two periods in 2001, along five cascading reservoirs of the Iguaçu River, Paraná State (Brazil). The vertical dynamics of the phytoplankton was related to underwater light availability and the water column-mixing regime. Correlations between physical and chemical variables and phytoplankton abundance were evaluated by Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). No significant cascading effect throughout the serial reservoirs was obtained. Thus, the main factor affecting the structure of the phytoplankton assemblages of each reservoir was the hydrodynamic pattern. The instability of the water column during the winter favored the development of R-strategist species such as Aulacoseira granulata, Urosolenia longiseta and U. eriensis in most reservoirs. In the period of the highest hydraulic stability and temperature, the greatest contribution to biomass came from Cyanophyceae S-strategists such as Aphanocapsa sp.1, Anabaena planctonica and A. crassa. The phytoplanktonic associations recorded were important indicators of the environmental conditions of these reservoirs.  相似文献

Do the effects of piscivorous largemouth bass cascade to the plankton?   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
Ecologists have hypothesized that an increase in the biomass of piscivorous fish in lakes will cause a decrease in populations of planktivorous fish, an increase in the size of herbivorous zooplankton and a decrease in the biomass of phytoplankton. Here we present an experimental test of whether the effects of largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) cascade to the planktivorous fish, zooplankton and phytoplankton of a 15-ha water storage reservoir. A pilot study indicated that the reservoir was eutrophic with dense populations of planktivorous fish dominated by threadfin shad (Dorosoma petenense). No piscovorous fish were present in the reservoir. We conducted a one-month mesocosm experiment using water and plankton from the reservoir showing that the presence of threadfin shad reduced large-sized zooplankton and increased the productivity and biomass of phytoplankton. To test whether the effects of piscivorous fish could cascade to the plankton, we assessed the effects of the addition of piscivorous largemouth bass on the planktivorous fish, zooplankton and biomass of phytoplankton of the reservoir by monitoring the reservoir during the year before and the two years after largemouth bass were stocked. In the second year after the addition of largemouth bass, the number of planktivorous fish decreased and the relative abundance of threadfin shad declined. Although the abundance of cladocerans increased after the addition of largemouth bass, the average size of zooplankton did not change. We did not detect changes in chlorophyll a, Secchi depth, or concentrations of total phosphorus and total nitrogen as a result of the addition of largemouth bass.  相似文献

SUMMARY.
  • 1 A marked gradient in water transparency along the 75 km longitudinal axis of Lake le Roux, a fjord-like reservoir on the Orange River, South Africa, was consistently evident over several years. On average, Secchi depth transparency doubled from approximately 18 cm at the turbid upper end (which is fed by sediment-laden Orange River water discharged from Lake Verwoerd), to 33 cm near the dam wall. A variety of changes in abiotic limn logical attributes (temperature, light attenuation, suspended solids and nutrient levels, etc.), and in the abundance and composition of planktonic biota accompany, and may be imposed by, this turbidity gradient.
  • 2 On average, phytoplankton abundance (assessed as chlorophyll content), and total crustacean zooplankton biomass (per unit volume) were lowest at the very top of the lake, but reached maximal values within 15 km ‘downstream’, reflecting the rapid development of plankton. These variables subsequently declined downstream, in contrast to the apparent improvement in conditions for planktonic existence (increasing water transparency, longer water residence time, etc.).
  • 3 The composition of crustacean zooplankton varied along the length of the reservoir. Both seasonal and inter-annual differences were evident. On average, however, cladocerans (Daphnia, Moina), despite their r-selected attributes, were especially sparse in the more turbid, uppermost reaches, where advective effects of river inflows were most pronounced. The large predatory copepod Lovenula was surprisingly most abundant in this region, where potential planktonic curstacean prey was scarce. The attainment of maximal zooplankton standing slocks some 15 km downstream was attributable to the proliferation particularly of the herbivorous copepod Metadiaptomus, along with minor increases in several ctadoceran components. The latter continued to increase downstream, in line with declining turbidity, although Daphnia and Moina reached their respective abundance maxima in central and lower reaches of the reservoir, reflecting slight disparities in response to turbidity or related gradients. 于2017年8月对拉萨河浮游植物群落组成、丰度、功能群以及多样性指数进行调查,利用典范对应分析法(CCA)分析浮游植物物种与水环境因子的关系。结果表明:流域种类组成以硅藻门(60.4%)为主,其次是绿藻门(20.8%),其余种类18.8%;物种平均丰度为3857cells/L,硅藻门94.6%,蓝藻门3.1%,绿藻门2.3%;种类少、丰度低是拉萨河流域浮游植物群落结构的主要特征;研究区优势种以菱形藻为主; MP、D和P是划分出来的15类功能群中的优势功能群,合计占总丰度的93%,剩余12类仅占7%; Margalef指数、Shannon-Wiener指数及Pielou's evenness指数平均值分别为1.41、1.77和0.5,单因素方差分析(ANOVA)表明三类多样性指数在各支流之间、干流与各支流之间无显著差异; CCA排序结果表明:p H、化学需氧量(CODCr)、总氮(TN)、总磷(TP)是影响拉萨河流域浮游植物群落结构的主要环境因子;同时,pH、TN、TP也是影响浮游植物功能群分布格局的主要因子。  相似文献

Subsidy between ecosystems has been considered in many natural ecosystems, and should alter food webs and communities in human-impacted ones. We estimated how drifting plankton from a reservoir contribute to downstream food webs and showed that they alter community structures over a 10-km reach below the dam. To estimate the contribution of the drifting plankton to macroinvertebrates, we used C and N isotopes and an IsoSource mixing model. In spring and autumn, contributions of plankton to collector-filterer species were highest 0.2 km downstream of the dam, and clearly decreased from 0.2 to 10 km. At 0.2 km, the contribution of plankton to a predator stonefly was remarkably high. These results indicated that drifting plankton from a dam reservoir could subsidize downstream food webs and alter their energy base, but the importance of this subsidy decreased as distance from the reservoir increased. The general linear models indicated that the abundance of collector-filterers and predators was related positively to zooplankton density in stream water. Thus, food source alteration by drifting plankton also influenced the community structures downstream of the dam.  相似文献

于2000年丰水期和枯水期调查分析了新建河流型水库-飞来峡水库在蓄水初期的营养状态及浮游生物特征。结果表明:水库处于营养累积高峰期,已开始回落,但流域上游大量含磷废水使水库中磷含量继续上升,目前属于中营养型。共记录到浮游植物29种(属),以蓝藻门、绿藻门、硅藻门种类较多,其中丰水期以蓝藻和绿藻为主,枯水期是硅藻占优势,除大坝附近外,浮游植物两个季节密度变化不大,为0.39×106cells·L-1.浮游动物53种(属),其中包括僧帽溞和透明薄皮溞两种嗜寒性种类,丰度为52ind.·L-1,枯水期高于丰水期,数量以轮虫和无节幼体为多。  相似文献

广东沿海与粤北山区中小型水库浮游生物群落比较分析   总被引:8,自引:4,他引:4  
于丰水期和枯水期对广东山区水库(赤石迳水库)、沿海水库(大水桥、赤沙水库)三个水库的湖泊区和河流区进行研究,分析水质和浮游生物群落结构。三个水库之间的浮游生物群落均有所区别,地理位置和地形不同而引起的温度差异以及外源性营养盐输入是造成浮游生物种类和数量差异的主要原因。沿海水库不分层,而山区水库丰水期温跃层明显。各水库的氮磷比均较高,chl.a水平主要受磷限制,沿海水库则多喜暖性的种类,如裸藻、隐藻、沙居剑水蚤等,山区水库发现较多喜冷性浮游生物,如金藻、透明溞等,丰水期的甲藻丰度也相对高于枯水期。  相似文献

为了解灞河城市段浮游生物群落结构及其与环境因子之间的关系,于2016年9月至2017年7月每2个月进行一次采样分析。调查期间共鉴定出浮游植物7门63属,其中绿藻门种类数最多(34.9%),其次为硅藻门(30.2%);浮游动物4类45种,以轮虫(48.9%)和原生动物(24.4%)为主。浮游植物和浮游动物的丰度分别为0.73×10~4—98.5×10~4个/L和20—1084个/L,在时空分布上均呈现下游高于上游的趋势,峰值均出现在夏季。根据水体透明度、溶解氧、总磷、总氮、高锰酸盐指数和重金属等理化指标、浮游生物丰度、Shannon-Wiener多样性指数和Margalef丰富度指数对灞河城市段水质状况进行综合评价,结果显示,所研究流域总体为中污状态,上游景观河道内的水生植物对水体具有一定的修复能力。典范对应分析表明,水温、总氮、pH、溶解氧和汞是浮游植物群落分布的主要影响因子;影响浮游动物群落分布的主要因子为水温、总氮、总磷、叶绿素a和汞。  相似文献

In order to understand the environmental variables which promote the proliferation of cyanobacteria and variation in microcystin concentrations in the Nui Coc reservoir, Vietnam, physicochemical parameters, the occurrence, and abundance of phytoplankton, cyanobacteria, and microcystin concentration were monitored monthly through the year 2009–2010. The relationships between these parameters were explored using principal component analysis (PCA) and Pearson correlation analysis. The phytoplankton community was mainly dominated by the cyanobacterium Microcystis with higher cyanobacteria abundance during summer and autumn season. PCA and Pearson correlation results showed that water temperature and phosphate concentration were the most important variables accounting for cyanobacteria, Microcystis, and microcystin occurrence. Analysis of the toxins by high-performance liquid chromatography demonstrated the presence of two microcystin variants: microcystin-LR (MC-RR) and microcystin-ddRR (MC-ddRR) with total concentrations of the toxins in filtered samples from surface water ranging from 0.11 to 1.52 μg MC-LR equiv L?1. The high concentrations of microcystin in the Nui Coc reservoir highlighted the potential risk for human health in the basin. Our study underlined the need for regular monitoring of cyanobacteria and toxins in lakes and reservoirs, which are used for drinking water supplies, not only in Vietnam but also in tropical countries.  相似文献

流溪河大型底栖动物群落的时空分布及其影响因子   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
流溪河位于我国热带与亚热带过渡区,其底栖动物种类丰富,群落的物种组成结构具有明显的区域性,掌握该地区的物种组成特征及与环境要素的关系是建立生态监测与评估方法的基础。于2018年的枯水期(3月、12月)和丰水期(6月、9月),自流溪河上游至下游共计20个段面对底栖动物进行了定量采样,同时测定了相应的环境因子,采用多元统计方法对流溪河水环境与群落结构及其相关关系进行了分析。共检出底栖动物76个分类单元,隶属于7纲20目50科,其中水生昆虫相对丰度最高,占69.39%。在4个优势分类单元中,摇蚊族(Chironomini)相对丰度为20.19%,河蚬(Corbicula fluminea)、短沟蜷属的一种(Semisulcospira sp.1)、双突细蜉(Caenis bicornis),相对丰度在7%-9%之间。底栖动物丰度和种类多样性均与浊度呈显著负相关;枯水期底栖动物丰度与总磷呈显著负相关,丰水期则呈显著正相关。在丰水期,不同河流级别上底栖动物群落具有明显的差异,表现较强的分布格局,而在枯水期这种分布格局不明显。典范对应分析(CCA)表明,在丰水期,影响或解释流溪河底栖动物群落变化的主要因子为pH、溶解氧、水温、电导率和硅酸盐,而在枯水期则为pH和硝态氮。受电站与采沙的影响,部分河段发生非自然断流和底质的显著改变,导致底质与水深等数据的异常变化,反映了人类活动对该河流生境与环境的重要影响。  相似文献

The recruitment of major species-components of phytoplankton is considered with reference to diverse water-bodies—rivers, headwater lakes, reservoirs and lateral waters—of the Nile system. The importance of massive ‘inocula’, carried in flowing and inter-communicating waters, is emphasised; the most direct evidence is from quantitative population dynamics in longitudinally sampled river-reservoir systems. Other indications of extraneous derivation are taken from geographical distribution and apparent invasions of newly recorded species. For five reservoirs, there are records of initial colonisation (in two) and of the annual colonisation of seasonally impounded water (in three). There was a selective recruitment of reservoir/river major species over 1 year to newly created ponds, from a massive inoculum of added river water, studied in relation to the novel and changing physical and chemical environment. Periods of predominant decomposition were there linked with the abundance of other species not observed in the original river water. Reservoir species can be carried to extend abundance far downstream, as observed in the Blue Nile where normal succession was altered by a new reservoir upstream; also in Egypt below the former Aswan Reservoir and the later High Dam Lake. The different and distinctive compositions of the phytoplankton communities in headwater lakes reflect large environmental differences that, with high downstream turbulence, probably make them insignificant for recruitment of most species typical of the downstream waters. There is evidence from hydrology and floristic similarities for recruitment from lateral standing waters along the river, especially those of one major swamp area.  相似文献

太湖浮游细菌与春末浮游藻类群落结构演替的相关分析

为研究浮游细菌与浮游藻类群落演替的相关性,2005年4月至6月在太湖5个观测点采集浮游细菌及浮游藻类样本。分别采用聚合酶链式反应-变性梯度凝胶电泳(PCR—DGGE)和显微观察的方法分析浮游细菌及浮游藻类群落组成。结果表明,春末夏初,浮游细菌与藻类均呈现较高的多样性,浮游细菌DGGE图谱具有43种不同条带,浮游藻类的常见种有29种。浮游细菌群落聚类分析显示,丝藻(Ulothrix sp.)和微囊藻(Microcystis spp.)占优势时,浮游细菌群落基因组成存在明显差异。以藻类种群Shannon—Wiener多样性指数(Hp),浮游藻类总细胞数(N)以及Microcystis spp.(M)百分含量为变量,典型对应分析(CCA)结果显示浮游细菌与浮游藻类群落结构变化的相关系数为30.9%,表明春末夏初太湖浮游细菌与浮游藻类群落演替具有较高的相关性。  相似文献

The chemical and biological characteristics of Lake Guiers (Senegal) have changed markedly since the impoundment of the Senegal River (Diama and Manantali dams) and subsequent development of irrigated agriculture in the nineteen eighties. On a longitudinal transect of 10 stations (from south to north), the environmental characteristics and the spatial variability of physicochemical variables, phytoplankton and zooplankton communities were studied. Within a marked south‐north gradient, the southern stations were characterized by the highest conductivity and pH and by the lowest values of suspended solids, chlorophyll‐a concentrations and phytoplankton abundance (mainly Chlorophycea, Cyanobacteria and Bacillariophycea). The spatial distribution of zooplankton showed a clear distinction between the southern zone, characterized by the presence of the rotifers Brachionus falcatus and Conochiloides sp., the cladoceran Bosmina longirostris, the cyclopoid Thermocyclops neglectus and the calanoid Pseudodiaptomus hessei. A co‐inertia analysis clearly showed that environmental factors and phytoplankton drives the spatial distribution of zooplankton communities. The comparison of our data with previous studies suggests a marked change in the biological communities since the impoundment of the Senegal River, with rarefaction of P. hessei and proliferation of the cyclopoid Mesocyclops ogunnus. 于2015年春(5月)、夏(8月)、秋(10月)三季,在金河湾湿地4类水体共设置12个采样点对浮游植物功能类群演替及与水环境变量关系进行分析。研究期间共鉴定浮游植物376个种,隶属于8门10纲19目19科101属。浮游植物种类组成主要以硅藻门(39.62%)和绿藻门(35.64%)为主,其次裸藻门(10.11%)和蓝藻门(9.84%)的藻类所占比例较高,甲藻门、隐藻门、金藻门和黄藻门所占比例较低。调查期间金河湾湿地浮游植物细胞丰度季节间差异显著(P0.05),整体上呈现夏季秋季春季的规律。春、夏、秋三季共划分20个不同的功能类群,双因素方差分析(Two-way ANOVA)和单因子交叉相似性检验(One-way ANOSIM)表明:代表性功能类群在季节间演替明显(P0.05),群落构成差异显著(P0.01)。SIMPER分析指出,S2/H1/B/D/Lo/X1/MP是引起金河湾湿地各季节之间浮游植物群落结构差异的主要贡献类群。通过代表性功能类群和10个水环境变量的典范对应分析(CCA)探索环境变量与功能类群演替的关系。经分析,总氮(TN)是驱动金河湾湿地浮游植物功能类群演替的主要环境变量,电导率(SpCond)、pH与功能类群演替密切相关。  相似文献

Zooplankton in the main channel of the Nakdong River and in three tributaries was sampled from June 1994 to September 1995. Planktonic rotifers (Brachionus spp., Keratella spp., and Polyarthra spp.), cyclopoid nauplii and small cladocerans (Bosmina longirostris) were numerically dominant. There was considerable longitudinal variation of zooplankton biomass in the main channel as well as spatial heterogeneity among the major tributaries. In the middle region of the main channel, between river kilometer (RK) 170 and 150 above the estuary dam, total zooplankton abundance sharply increased from less than 100 ind. L—1 to more than 1,000 ind. L—1. In a downstream direction toward the estuary dam, phytoplankton biomass increased while total zooplankton biomass decreased. However, as shown by the increasing transport of zooplankton biomass, zooplankton was diluted in the reach of the estuary dam. Advective effects from major tributaries appear to be the contributory factor for the higher zooplankton biomass in the middle region. Overall, rather the external factors (flushing, retention) than internal factors (e.g., phytoplankton) appear to be responsible for changes in zooplankton abundance toward the river mouth.  相似文献

A dam on a river course induces numerous changes in the aquatic environment both in the newly formed reservoir and in the river downstream. These changes modify the food resources available to fishes. As a consequence, fish communities undergo rapid transformations particularly in terms of trophic organization. Tucuruí Dam, closed on the Tocantins River, Brazil, in September 1984, formed a large reservoir of approximately 2200km2. Analyses of fish stomach contents were performed before and after the completion of the dam in the downstream section of the river as well as in the reservoir. Resource availability was seen through the relative contribution of food items in supporting the biomass. Main changes caused by the dam consisted of an increase in fishes as a food resource and of a parallel decrease of sediment both in the reservoir and in the downstream part of the river. In addition, in the downstream section, the relative contribution of plankton as a food resource diminished after dam closure. We identified 8 feeding regimes before dam closure. From them the trophic structure of fish communities were established and compared. Most of the community biomass was from specialist feeders. Contribution of piscivores increased after closure; planktivores became unimportant after closure downstream. Some species were shown to change their diet in the transformed environments either downstream or in the reservoir. However, these changes in individual species diet did not seem to play a major role in the transformation of trophic structure of the fish communities.  相似文献

The relationship between bacterioplankton and phytoplankton community compositions was investigated from April to June, 2005 with samples taken at five different stations in Lake Taihu, China. Bacterioplankton and phytoplankton community compositions as determined by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis of polymerase chain reaction amplified bacterial 16S rRNA gene fragments (PCR-DGGE) and microscopic examination, respectively, revealed a high degree of diversity. In total, 43 unique bands were identified amongst the DGGE profiles, and 29 dominant phytoplankton populations were observed. The DGGE profiles were clustered into two distinct groups. These two clusters were closely associated with two dominant phytoplanktons, Ulothrix sp. and Microcystis spp., as observed on April 19, May 27 and June 27, 2005, respectively. 浙江横山水库浮游植物群落结构特征及其影响因子   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
为揭示横山水库浮游植物群落结构特征及其与水质环境因子的关系, 于2011年3月至2012年2月, 逐月对横山水库4个站点浮游植物种类组成、丰度与生物量以及12项水质理化指标进行了调查分析.结果表明: 共鉴定出浮游植物246种, 隶属于7门78属, 主要优势种有变异直链藻、颗粒直链藻、梅尼小环藻、美丽星杆藻、尖针杆藻、短小曲壳藻、镰形纤维藻、湖生颤藻、啮蚀隐藻、尖尾蓝隐藻、细胶鞘藻和铜绿微囊藻等, 优势种的季节更替明显. 全年浮游植物丰度及生物量分别为0.51×105~14.22×105 ind·L-1及0.07~1.27 mg·L-1; 全年Margalef指数、Pielou指数及Shannon指数分别为1.10~3.33、0.26~0.81及0.51~2.38. 横山水库浮游植物群落结构变化规律为春季硅-隐藻型、夏季蓝-绿藻型、秋季硅藻型、冬季硅-隐藻型.典范对应分析(CCA)表明, 温度、透明度、化学需氧量和pH与横山水库浮游植物群落结构关系最为密切.水质评价显示, 横山水库水质处于α中污, 营养水平为中营养.  相似文献
