Cryptic species diversity is thought to be common within the class Insecta, posing problems for basic ecological and population genetic studies and conservation management. Within the temperate bumble bee (Bombus spp.) fauna, members of the subgenus Bombus sensu stricto are amongst the most abundant and widespread. However, their species diversity is controversial due to the extreme difficulty or inability morphologically to identify the majority of individuals to species. Our character-based phylogenetic analyses of partial CO1 (700 bp) from 39 individuals spread across their sympatric European ranges provided unequivocal support for five taxa (3–22 diagnostic DNA base pair sites per species). Inclusion of 20 Irish specimens to the dataset revealed ≥2.3% sequence divergence between taxa and ≤1.3% within taxa. We developed a PCR-RFLP based method for unequivocally distinguishing amongst the four cryptic European taxa of this subgenus, B. cryptarum, B. lucorum, B. magnus and B. terrestris, and used it to analyse 391 females of the former three species collected across Ireland, all of which could be unambiguously assigned to species. Bombus lucorum was the most widely distributed and abundant of the cryptarum–lucorum–magnus species complex, comprising 56% of individuals, though it was significantly less abundant at higher altitudes (>200 m) whilst B. cryptarum was relatively more abundant at higher altitudes. Bombus magnus was rarely encountered at urban sites. Both B. lucorum and B. terrestris are nowadays reared commercially for pollination and transported globally. Our RFLP approach to identify native fauna can underpin ecological studies of these important cryptic species as well as the impact of commercial bumble bees on them.  相似文献

Freshwater ostracodes show both an exceptionally high incidence of transitions to unisexuality and, in some cases, an extraordinary level of clonal diversity. There is no understanding of the agents promoting these transitions to thelytoky, although it has been suggested that their frequency may set the stage for sexual taxa to infuse clonal diversity into unisexuals. This study examines the nature and origins of clonal diversity in the unisexual ostracode Cyprinotus incongruens. A combination of allozyme and cytogenetic studies revealed the presence of two diploid clones of this species at three temperate sites and ten clones at one arctic site including three diploids, five triploids, and two tetraploids. The low heterozygosity (0%–20%) of its diploid clones suggests that parthenogenesis has arisen spontaneously in C. incongruens rather than through hybridization, as in vertebrate asexuals. Polyploid clones appear to owe their origin to genome additions from sexual taxa, although subsequent mutational divergence has played a role in further enhancing diversity. Two triploid clones have apparently originated from the incorporation of a haploid genome from the sexually reproducing C. glaucus, as evidenced by their high heterozygosity and possession of alleles otherwise found only in that species. Other polyploid clones have likely arisen as a result of interbreeding between bisexual and unisexual C. incongruens. These results suggest that both the incidence of spontaneous transitions to clonality and the frequency of interbreeding with relatives may be the key processes that govern clonal diversity in unisexual ostracodes.  相似文献

The extremely halophilic bacterium Salinibacter ruber inhabits saltern crystallizer ponds worldwide, together with the square archaeon Haloquadratum walsbyi. Cultures of Salinibacter have been shown to convert up to 20% of the glycerol added to a not previously characterized overflow product. We here identify this product of incomplete glycerol oxidation by Salinibacter as dihydroxyacetone. Genomic information suggests that H. walsbyi possesses an efficient uptake system for dihydroxyacetone, and we show here that dihydroxyacetone is indeed metabolized by Haloquadratum cultures, as well as by the heterotrophic prokaryotic community of the saltern crystallizer ponds in Eilat, Israel, dominated by Haloquadratum-like cells. In the absence of glycerol, Salinibacter also takes up dihydroxyacetone. Degradation of glycerol, produced in hypersaline lakes as an osmotic solute by the green alga Dunaliella salina may thus involve dihydroxyacetone as an intermediate, which can then be taken up by different types of heterotrophs present in the environment.  相似文献

Cyanobacterial 16S ribosomal RNA gene diversity was examined in a benthic mat on Fildes Peninsula of King George Island (62o09′54.4′′S, 58o57′20.9′′W), maritime Antarctica. Environmental DNA was isolated from the mat, a clone library of PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene fragments was prepared, and amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis (ARDRA) was done to assign clones to seven groups. Low cyanobacterial diversity in the mat was suggested in that 83% of the clones were represented by one ARDRA group. DNA sequences from this group had high similarity with 16S rRNA genes of Tychonema bourrellyi and T. bornetii isolates, whose geographic origins were southern Norway and Northern Ireland. Cyanobacterial morphotypes corresponding to Tychonema have not been reported in Antarctica, however, this morphotype was previously found at Ward Hunt Lake (83oN), and in western Europe (52oN). DNA sequences of three of the ARDRA groups had highest similarity with 16S rDNA sequences of the Tychonema group accounting for 9.4% of the clones. Sequences of the remaining three groups (7.6%) had highest similarity with 16S rRNA genes of uncultured cyanobacteria clones from benthic mats of Lake Fryxell and fresh meltwater on the McMurdo Ice Shelf.  相似文献

This study evaluated and compared the occurrence, concentrations, and genetic diversity of bovine polyomavirus (BPyV) and bovine adenovirus (BAdV) in manure and feces samples for the purpose of determining which of these two viruses is more suitable for bovine fecal indication and microbial source tracking. The comparability and correlation between concentrations/prevalence of these viruses and bacterial fecal indicators (cow-associated Bacteroidetes, Escherichia coli and enterococci) in manure and fecal samples was also determined. A total of 26 dairy manure and 18 individual dairy cow feces samples were tested. The results showed the mean concentration of BAdV in all of dairy manure samples was at least 1 log lower than BPyV (p ≤ 0.005). All of the dairy manure samples tested positive for BPyV but not for BAdV. After combining dairy manure measurements, bacterial indicators had 0.3–0.7 log (p ≤ 0.05) and 1.8–2.2 log (p ≤ 0.005) higher concentrations than BPyV and BAdV, respectively. The concentration of BPyV had a significant positive correlation with the concentration of E. coli and enterococci in the manure samples. The partial VP1 genetic sequences of BPyV isolated from three different farms had a 100% homology to each other and to VP1 sequence (D13942.1) reported in previous study. Based on the occurrence, quantitative and genetic diversity results, BPyV may be a better indicator than BAdV for microbial source tracking at manure application sites.  相似文献

The diversity and composition of soil bacterial communities in three topographic sites (summit, foot slope, and lakeshore) from subtropical montane forest ecosystem in Taiwan were examined by using 16S rRNA gene clone library analysis. This locality is temperate, perhumid, and has low soil acidity (pH < 4), which is an uncommon ecosystem in a monsoonal part of Southeast Asia. A total of 481 clones were sequenced and placed into ten phylogenetic groups according to their similarities to type strains of described organisms. Toposequence of the transect was investigated from summit to foot slope and at the lakeshore. More than 86% of the clones were affiliated with members of the Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, and Actinobacteria. Within the Proteobacteria, the β-Proteobacteria was the most abundant, then α-Proteobacteria and γ-Proteobacteria. Based on the Shannon diversity index (H) analysis, the bacterial community in the foot slope was the most diverse (H = 0.86) and that in summit was the least diverse (H = 0.68). The composition and diversity of soil bacterial communities in the three sites suggested no trend with topographic change. Less than 20% of the sequences were Acidobacteria-affiliated clones. The low proportion of Acidobacteria observed may be related to the high soil moisture and anaerobic microhabitats. Moreover, Shannon diversity indices revealed these bacterial communities to have lower diversity than that of other temperate (H = 0.90) and tropical forest (H = 0.82) ecosystems. The extreme acidity of soil pH and high soil moisture of this forest may explain composition and reduced the diversity of these soil bacterial communities.  相似文献

The extracellular hemoglobins of cladocerans derive from the aggregation of 12 two-domain globin subunits that are apparently encoded by four genes. This study establishes that at least some of these genes occur as a tandem array in both Daphnia magna and Daphnia exilis. The genes share a uniform structure; a bridge intron separates two globin domains which each include three exons and two introns. Introns are small, averaging just 77 bp, but a longer sequence (2.2–3.2 kb) separates adjacent globin genes. A survey of structural diversity in globin genes from other daphniids revealed three independent cases of intron loss, but exon lengths were identical, excepting a 3-bp insertion in exon 5 of Simocephalus. Heterogeneity in the extent of nucleotide divergence was marked among exons, largely as a result of the pronounced diversification of the terminal exon. This variation reflected, in part, varying exposure to concerted evolution. Conversion events were frequent in exons 1–4 but were absent from exons 5 and 6. Because of this difference, the results of phylogenetic analyses were strongly affected by the sequences employed in this construction. Phylogenies based on total nucleotide divergence in exons 1–4 revealed affinities among all genes isolated from a single species, reflecting the impact of gene conversion events. In contrast, phylogenies based on total nucleotide divergence in exons 5 and 6 revealed affinities among orthologous genes from different taxa. The phylogenetic diversity and composition of the bacterial community in anaerobic sediments from Sapelo Island, GA, USA were examined using 16S rRNA gene libraries. The diversity of this community was comparable to that of soil, and 1,186 clones formed 817 OTUs at 99% sequence similarity. Chao1 estimators for the total richness were also high, at 3,290 OTUs at 99% sequence similarity. The program RDPquery was developed to assign clones to taxonomic groups based upon comparisons to the RDP database. While most clones could be assigned to describe phyla, fewer than 30% of the clones could be assigned to a described order. Similarly, nearly 25% of the clones were only distantly related (<90% sequence similarity) to other environmental clones, illustrating the unique composition of this community. One quarter of the clones were related to one or more undescribed orders within the γ-Proteobacteria. Other abundant groups included the δ-Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Cyanobacteria. While these phyla were abundant in other estuarine sediments, the specific members at Sapelo Island appeared to be different from those previously described in other locations, suggesting that great diversity exists between as well as within estuarine intertidal sediments. In spite of the large differences in pore water chemistry with season and depth, differences in the bacterial community were modest over the temporal and spatial scales examined and generally restricted to only certain taxa. Anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) has been recognized as an important process for the global nitrogen cycle. In this study, the occurrence and diversity of anammox bacteria in the deep-sea subsurface sediments of the South China Sea (SCS) were investigated. Results indicated that the anammox bacterial sequences recovered from this habitat by amplifying both 16S rRNA gene and hydrazine oxidoreductase encoding hzo gene were all closely related to the Candidatus Scalindua genus. A total of 96 16S rRNA gene sequences from 346 clones were grouped into five subclusters: two subclusters affiliated with the brodae and arabica species, while three new subclusters named zhenghei-I, -II, and -III showed ≤97.4% nucleic acid sequence identity with other known Candidatus Scalindua species. Meanwhile, 88 hzo gene sequences from the sediments also formed five distant subclusters within hzo cluster 1c. Through fluorescent real-time PCR analysis, the abundance of anammox bacteria in deep-sea subsurface sediment was quantified by hzo genes, which ranged from 1.19 × 104 to 7.17 × 104 copies per gram of dry sediments. Combining all the information from this study, diverse Candidatus Scalindua anammox bacteria were found in the deep-sea subsurface sediments of the SCS, and they could be involved in the nitrogen loss from the fixed inventory in the habitat.  相似文献

MUG1 is a MULE transposon-related domesticated gene in plants. We assessed the sequence diversity, neutrality, expression, and phylogenetics of the MUG1 gene among Oryza ssp. We found MUG1 expression in all tissues analyzed, with different levels in O. sativa. There were 408 variation sites in the 3886 bp of MUG1 locus. The nucleotide diversity of the MUG1 was higher than functionally known genes in rice. The nucleotide diversity (π) in the domains was lower than the average nucleotide diversity in whole coding region. The π values in nonsynonymous sites were lower than those of synonymous sites. Tajima D and Fu and Li D* values were mostly negative values, suggesting purifying selection in MUG1 sequences of Oryza ssp. Genome-specific variation and phylogenetic analyses show a general grouping of MUG1 sequences congruent with Oryza ssp. biogeography; however, our MUG1 phylogenetic results, in combination with separate B and D genome studies, might suggest an early divergence of the Oryza ssp. by continental drift of Gondwanaland. O. longistaminata MUG1 divergence from other AA diploids suggests that it might not be a direct ancestor of the African rice species. These authors contributed equally to this work.  相似文献

Bacterial diversity in surface sediments from the Pacific Arctic Ocean   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
In order to assess bacterial diversity within four surface sediment samples (0–5 cm) collected from the Pacific Arctic Ocean, 16S ribosomal DNA clone library analysis was performed. Near full length 16S rDNA sequences were obtained for 463 clones from four libraries and 13 distinct major lineages of Bacteria were identified (α, β, γ, δ and ε-Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Chloroflexi, Actinobacteria, Firmicutes, Planctomycetes, Spirochetes, and Verrucomicrobia). α, γ, and δ-Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Actinobacteria were common phylogenetic groups from all the sediments. The γ-Proteobacteria were the dominant bacterial lineage, representing near or over 50% of the clones. Over 35% of γ-Proteobacteria clones of four clone library were closely related to cultured bacterial isolates with similarity values ranging from 94 to 100%. The community composition was different among sampling sites, which potentially was related to geochemical differences.  相似文献

Montane regions can promote allopatric speciation and harbor unique species with small ranges. The southern Appalachians are a biodiversity hotspot for salamanders, and several montane endemics occur in the region. Here, we present the first DNA sequence data for Plethodon sherando, a terrestrial salamander recently discovered in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We sequenced two mitochondrial regions (cyt-b and CO1) from salamanders at reference sites near the center of P. sherando’s range and from two contact zones where P. sherando populations are replaced by Plethodon cinereus, the Northern Red-Backed salamander. We then used these sequence data to examine divergence and hybridization between the two taxa. We found P. sherando and P. cinereus morphotypes from contact zones to be reciprocally monophyletic and highly divergent (~17%). P. sherando exhibited very low sequence diversity (π = 0.0010) as compared to P. cinereus from the same locations (π = 0.0096). Salamander morphology in the contact zone was as distinct as morphology at reference sites, and discriminant function analysis based on morphology successfully classified 98% of salamanders to their mitochondrial lineage. Phylogenetic analysis of cyt-b sequences showed P. sherando to be sister to Plethodon serratus (the Southern Red-Backed salamander) rather than P. cinereus or any nearby mountaintop endemics. Our results suggest that P. sherando is a distinct lineage that is not subject to substantial introgression from P. cinereus and that may have a history of geographic isolation. Given its limited range (<80 km2), we believe P. sherando should merit a conservation status similar to that of other mountaintop salamanders in the region.  相似文献

Hot environments are between the supporting life extreme niches that appear to have maintained some degree of pristine quality and of special biotechnological interest. Knowledge on biodiversity in terrestrial hot springs is still scanty and has not been compared in the light of the specificity of those extreme ecological niches. Study on diversity of thermophilic bacteria inhabiting a hot spring located in Rupi Basin (RB), South-West Bulgaria, revealed a high phylogenetic richness in it (genotypic diversity is 0.37). A total of 120 clones were examined, and grouped in 28 phylogenetic types by their RFLP profile. 16S rRNA gene analysis allowed the identification of nine divisions from the domain Bacteria and one Candidate division. Ten of the retrieved bacterial sequences representing one third of the sequence types showed less than 97% similarity to the closest neighbor and were referred as new sequences. Four of them were distantly related to validly described bacteria (showed ≤90% similarity) suggesting new taxons on at least genus level. Comparison of biodiversity in the spring from Rupi Basin, Bulgaria with that described from other terrestrial hot springs revealed that Proteobacteria, Hydrogenobacter/Aquifex and Thermus are common bacterial groups for terrestrial hot springs. Simultaneously, specific bacterial taxons were observed in different springs.  相似文献

Marker-assisted selection for traits that are difficult to screen for, such as resistance to many sugarcane diseases, has the potential to facilitate the development of improved cultivars in sugarcane. Pachymetra root rot (PRR) and brown rust resistance ratings were obtained over two years for 192 I1 progeny (progeny produced by two heterozygous, non-inbred parental lines) of a sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrid) cross between two elite sugarcane clones, Q117 and 74C42. Approximately 1000 single-dose markers, including microsatellite (SSR), amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) markers, were scored across the population and maps containing approximately 400 markers were constructed for each parent. At p ≤ 0.01, two genomic regions, one from the female Q117 map and a different region from the 74C42 male map, plus an unlinked bi-parental simplex marker (single-dose marker present in both parents) were identified as associated with PRR over both years of data collection. These regions explained between 6 and 16% of the phenotypic variation. An additional region was identified in the female map as associated with PRR at p ≤ 0.01 in one year and p ≤ 0.05 in the second year. This region explained between 4 and 8% of the phenotypic variation. For brown rust, two genomic regions, one from the female map and one from the male map, plus an unlinked marker from both maps, were identified as associated with brown rust resistance at p ≤ 0.01 over two years of phenotypic data. Each region explained between 7 and 18% of the phenotypic variation. Several additional regions were identified in both maps as associated with brown rust at p ≤ 0.01 in one year and p ≤ 0.05 in the second year. These regions also explained between 5 and 11% of the phenotypic variation. To validate these markers and determine whether they would be useful in alternative germplasm, markers from each genomic region associated with PRR or brown rust were screened across a set of 154 elite sugarcane clones; PRR and brown rust ratings were available for 131 and 72 of the clones, respectively. For PRR, three of the 6 markers tested remained significantly associated (p ≤ 0.01) with resistance ratings in the elite clone set. For brown rust, only one of the seven markers tested remained significantly associated (p ≤ 0.01) with resistance in the elite clone set, with one other marker associated at p ≤ 0.05. These results suggest that these markers could be broadly effective in selecting for PRR and/or brown rust resistance in sugarcane breeding programs.  相似文献

The 3’ end of the β-tubulin gene was amplified from 50 isolates of 45 species in Glomeromycota. The analyses included a representative selection of all families except Pacisporaceae and Geosiphonaceae. Phylogenetic analyses excluded three intron regions at the same relative positions in all species due to sequence and length polymorphisms. The β-tubulin gene phylogeny was similar to the 18S rRNA gene phylogeny at the family and species level, but it was not concordant at the order level. Species in Gigasporaceae and Glomeraceae grouped together but without statistical support. Paralogous sequences in Glomus species likely contributed to phylogenetic ambiguity. Trees generated using different fungal phyla as out-groups yielded a concordant topology. Family relationships within the Glomeromycota did not change regardless if the third codon position was included or excluded from the analysis. Multiple clones from three isolates of Scutellospora heterogama yielded divergent sequences. However, phylogenetic patterns suggested that only a single copy of the β-tubulin gene was present, with variation attributed to intraspecific sequence divergence.  相似文献

Genetic variability among 122 Rhynchosporium secalis isolates collected from barley in three regions of Tunisia was investigated using host differentials, amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP), and microsatellite markers. The isolates were collected from a widely grown scald-susceptible barley cultivar Rihane and a range of local landrace cultivars in geographically distinct regions with different agroclimatic conditions. Pathotypic diversity (the proportion of unique pathotypes) was high in R. secalis populations from the high (100% diversity), moderate (95%), and low (100%) rainfall areas of Tunisia, and from both Rihane (which is the sole variety grown in the high rainfall region) and local landraces (which predominate in the low rainfall area). This may reflect a general adaptability for aggressiveness and suggests that the widely grown cultivar Rihane has exerted little or no selection pressure on the pathogen population since its release in 1983. Genotypic diversity (GD), defined as the probability that two individuals taken at random had different genotypes, was high for populations from Rihane, local landraces, and different agro-ecological zones (GD = 0.96–0.99). There was low genetic differentiation among pathogen populations from different host populations (G ST ≤ 0.08, θ ≤ 0.12) and agro-ecological zones (G ST ≤ 0.05, θ ≤ 0.04), which may be partly explained by gene flow due to the movement of infected stubble around the country. There was no correlation (r = 0.06, P = 0.39) between virulence phenotype and AFLP haplotype. A phenetic tree revealed groups with low bootstrap values that did not reflect the grouping of isolates based on host, pathotype, or agro-ecological region. The implications of these findings for R. secalis evolutionary potential and scald-resistance breeding in Tunisia are discussed.  相似文献

It is widely reported that coral reefs are suffering degradation from a combination of stresses. We have previously reported the use of genomic tools in the study of environmental impact assessment and hypothesize that monitoring the bacterial diversity associated with a coral would indicate changes in its health before visible damage occurs. This study analyzes the bacterial diversity associated with Porites coral collected from two sites in the Arabian Sea using culture independent techniques. Two clone libraries were constructed from the16S rDNA amplicons and selected individual clones were partially sequenced. Retrieved sequences were identified by BLAST analysis and indicate the presence of unidentified bacteria. Diversity index was calculated using Shannon–Wiener index. The bacterial diversity associated with coral sample 1 gives the index of species diversity, H 1 as 1.6287, divergence from eqiprobability as 45.708% and the evenness of the sample as 54.291. For coral sample 2, the values obtained were, H 1 as 1.97, divergence from eqiprobability as 15.11% and the evenness of the sample as 84.88. Sequences representing bacteria related to agricultural or industrial pollution and pathogenesis were also found. Coral samples collected near a lagoon area, showed a greater percentage of sequences representing bacteria related to human interventions, indicative of pollution.  相似文献

Rapid evolution of snake venom genes by positive selection has been reported previously but key features of this process such as the targets of selection, rates of gene turnover, and functional diversity of toxins generated remain unclear. This is especially true for closely related species with divergent diets. We describe the evolution of PLA2 gene sequences isolated from genomic DNA from four taxa of Sistrurus rattlesnakes which feed on different prey. We identified four to seven distinct PLA2 sequences in each taxon and phylogenetic analyses suggest that these sequences represent a rapidly evolving gene family consisting of both paralogous and homologous loci with high rates of gene gain and loss. Strong positive selection was implicated as a driving force in the evolution of these protein coding sequences. Exons coding for amino acids that make up mature proteins have levels of variation two to three times greater than those of the surrounding noncoding intronic sequences. Maximum likelihood models of coding sequence evolution reveal that a high proportion (∼30%) of all codons in the mature protein fall into a class of codons with an estimated d N /d S (ω) ratio of at least 2.8. An analysis of selection on individual codons identified nine residues as being under strong (p < 0.01) positive selection, with a disproportionately high proportion of these residues found in two functional regions of the PLA2 protein (surface residues and putative anticoagulant region). This is direct evidence that diversifying selection has led to high levels of functional diversity due to structural differences in proteins among these snakes. Overall, our results demonstrate that both gene gain and loss and protein sequence evolution via positive selection are important evolutionary forces driving adaptive divergence in venom proteins in closely related species of venomous snakes.  相似文献

Surface zooplankton were studied in Egyptian coastal watersof the Gulf of Aqaba, from bimonthly samples from July 1994to May 1995. Species diversity, numerical abundance and dynamicswere analysed for each taxon, at six sites, inside three Protectorates.A total of 62 taxa and species were identified. At all sites, copepods were predominant in the standing crop with an averageof 1945 ind. M–3 and formed {small tilde}75.5%, numerically,of the total zooplankton community. The meroplanktonic larvaeoccupied the second rank and they constituted {small tilde}19.7%of the total zooplankton. Seasonally, the main peak of zooplanktonabundance was recorded in winter (January) with an average of3510 ind. M–3 while September was characterized by thelowest density (1906 ind. m–3 The relatively higher diversityvalues were recorded at Ras Mohammed Protectorate and a progressivedecline in diversity was observed northward.  相似文献

Phylogeographic and population genetic studies using sequence information are frequently used to infer species boundaries and history; and to assess hybridization and population level processes. In this study, partial mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) control region (423 bp) and cytochrome b sequences (666 bp) of Oryx beisa sampled from five isolated localities in its entire current range in Africa were analyzed to investigate the extent of genetic variation and differentiation between populations. We observed high nucleotide diversity at the control region in the total sample (6.3%) but within populations, it varied considerably ranging from 1.6% to 8.1%. Population pairwise genetic differentiation was generally significantly high (ranging from F ST = 0.15, P<0.01 to F ST = 0.54, P<0.001). In the total sample, 29 and 12 haplotypes were observed in the control region and the cytochrome b data sets respectively. For both data sets, the haplotypes cluster into three distinct clades (sequence divergence ranged from 6.0%–12.9% to 0.8%–1.0% for the control region and cytochrome b sequences, respectively) that do not correspond to sampling locations. Two of these clades are found in the same localities (Samburu and Marsabit), which represent the O.beisa beisa subspecies, whereas the last clade represents the fringe-eared oryx (O. beisa callotis). We interpret these findings in terms of an ancient hybridization and introgression between two formerly isolated taxa of Oryx beisa.  相似文献
