Accompanied by other rare compounds, a new iridoid dimer, named kurdnestorianoside ( 1 ), showing an unprecedented secologanol configuration, has been isolated for the first time from the Kurdish medicinal plant Pterocephalus nestorianus, which is used in Kurdistan for treating oral diseases and inflammation. The structure of 1 was established from 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR spectroscopic data. Kaempferol 3‐O‐[3,6‐di‐O‐(E)‐p‐coumaroyl]‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 7 ) showed a remarkable antiproliferative activity against several human tumor cell lines.  相似文献

Six new polyhydroxysteroidal glycosides, anthenosides S1  –  S6 ( 1  –  6 ), along with a mixture of two previously known related glycosides, 7 and 8 , were isolated from the methanolic extract of the starfish Anthenea sibogae. The structures of 1  –  6 were established by NMR and HR‐ESI‐MS techniques as well as by chemical transformations. All new compounds have a 5α‐cholest‐8(14)‐ene‐3α,6β,7β,16α‐tetrahydroxysteroidal nucleus and differ from majority of starfish glycosides in positions of carbohydrate moieties at C(7) and C(16) ( 1  –  4 , 6 ) or only at C(16) ( 5 ). The 4‐O‐methyl‐β‐d ‐glucopyranose residue ( 2 ) and Δ24‐cholestane side chain ( 3 ) have not been found earlier in the starfish steroidal glycosides. The mixture of 7 and 8 slightly inhibited the proliferation of human breast cancer T‐47D cells and decreased the colony size in the colony formation assay.  相似文献

Three new lignans ( 1 – 3 ), together with four new thymoquinol glycosides ( 4 – 7 ), were isolated from 70%‐EtOH extract of the rattan stems of Schisandra chinensis. The structures of 1 – 7 were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analyses, and these new compounds were identified as pinobatol‐9‐Oβ‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 1 ), 1,2,13,14‐tetramethoxydibenzocyclooctadiene 3,12‐Oβ‐d ‐diglucopyranoside ( 2 ), 3,7‐dihydroxy‐1,2,13,14‐tetramethoxydibenzocyclooctadiene 12‐Oβ‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 3 ), thymoquinol 2‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 4 ), thymoquinol 2‐Oα‐d ‐arabinofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 5 ), thymoquinol 5‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 6 ), and thymoquinol 5‐Oα‐d ‐arabinofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 7 ). The neuroprotective activity of 1 – 7 was evaluated on PC12 cells with neurotoxicity induced by amyloid‐beta 1 – 42 (Aβ1 – 42). Compounds 2 and 3 showed protecting activity against Aβ‐induced toxicity in PC12 cells.  相似文献

Balanophora involucrata Hook .f. & Thomson (Balanophoraceae) is a parasite plant often growing on the roots of leguminous plants. The whole herb has been used medicinally for the treatment of irregular menstruation, cough, hemoptysis, traumatic injury and bleeding, dizziness and gastralgia in Yunnan Province, China. The 2,2‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay on the 60% aq. acetone extract of the fresh whole plant of B. involucrata showed considerable radical‐scavenging activity (SC50 15.3 μg/ml). Further purification on the extract led to the isolation of one new phenolic glycoside, sieboldin‐3′‐ketocarboxylic acid ( 1 ), and one new cyanogenic glycoside, proacacipetalin 6′‐Oβ‐D ‐glucopyranoside ( 2 ), together with 26 known compounds including three 4″‐O‐galloyl and 2″,3″‐O‐(S)‐hexahydroxydiphenoyl (HHDP) derivatives of dihydrochalcone glucosides, seven hydrolyzable tannins, and alkane glycosides. The cyanogenic compound isolated from the Balanophoraceae family for the first time might be a signal molecule between B. involucrata and its hosts. The free‐radical‐scavenging activity of the isolated compounds was also examined by DPPH assay.  相似文献

Five novel iridoid glycosides, avellanedaesides A‐E ( 1  –  5 ) were isolated from the H2O extract of Tabebuia avellanedae. Their structures were determined on the basis of NMR and MS analysis. Isolated compounds suppressed inflammatory cytokine, tumor‐necrosis factor‐α and interleukin‐1β production in cultured human myeloma THP‐1 cells co‐stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In addition, the study revealed iridoid glycosides inhibited the activity of cytochrome CYP3A4 enzyme.  相似文献

Four new iridoids, 2′‐O‐(E)coumaroylshanzhiside ( 1 ), 6′‐O‐(E)coumaroylshanzhiside ( 2 ), 8α‐butylgardenoside B ( 3 ), 6α‐methoxygenipin ( 4 ), and one new phenylpropanoid glucoside, 5‐(3‐hydroxypropyl)‐2‐methoxyphenyl β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 5 ), together with sixteen known compounds, were isolated from the edible flowers of wild Gardenia jasminoides J.Ellis . Their chemical structures were characterized by extensive spectroscopic techniques, including 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR, HR‐ESI‐MS, and CD experiments. The absolute configurations of the new isolates’ sugar moiety were assigned by HPLC analysis of the acid hydrolysates. Furthermore, the antioxidant activities of those isolates were preliminarily evaluated by DPPH scavenging experiment. And comparison of 1H‐NMR spectra for the EtOH extract of Gjasminoides J.Ellis , gardenoside B and geniposide revealed that the flowers of this plant have a considerable content of gardenoside B instead of geniposide in the fruits, indicating different activities and applications in people's daily life.  相似文献

The defatted fractions of the Faramea hyacinthina and Ftruncata (Rubiaceae) leaf MeOH extracts showed in vitro non‐cytotoxic and anti‐dengue virus serotype 2 (DENV2) activity in human hepatocarcinoma cell lineage (HepG2). Submitting these fractions to the developed RP‐SPE method allowed isolating the antiviral flavanone (2S)‐isosakuranetin‐7‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 1 ) from both species and yielded less active sub‐fractions. The new diastereoisomeric epimer pair (2S) + (2R) of 5,3′,5′‐trihydroxyflavanone‐7‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 2a / 2b ) from Fhyacinthina; the known narigenin‐7‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 3 ) from both species; rutin ( 4 ) and quercetin‐4′‐β‐d ‐O‐glucopyranosyl‐3‐O‐rutinoside ( 5 ) from Fhyacinthina, and kaempferol‐3‐O‐rutinoside ( 6 ), erythroxyloside A ( 7 ) and asperuloside ( 8 ) from Ftruncata have been isolated from these sub‐fractions. Five new oleanane‐type saponins, hirsutosides A – E, were isolated from the leaves of Glochidion hirsutum (Roxb .) Voigt . Their structures were elucidated as 21β‐benzoyloxy‐3β,16β,23,28‐tetrahydroxyolean‐12‐ene 3‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 1 ), 21β‐benzoyloxy‐3β,16β,23,28‐tetrahydroxyolean‐12‐ene 3‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 3)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 2 ), 21β‐benzoyloxy‐3β,16β,23,28‐tetrahydroxyolean‐12‐ene 3‐O‐6‐acetyl‐[β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 3)]‐β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 3 ), 21β‐benzoyloxy‐3β,16β,23,28‐tetrahydroxyolean‐12‐ene 3‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 3)‐〈‐l ‐arabinopyranoside ( 4 ), and 21β‐benzoyloxy‐3β,16β,23‐trihydroxyolean‐12‐ene‐28‐al 3‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 3)‐α‐l ‐arabinopyranoside ( 5 ). All isolated compounds were evaluated for cytotoxic activities on four human cancer cell lines, HepG‐2, A‐549, MCF‐7, and SW‐626 using the SRB assay. Compounds 1 , 2 , 4 , and 5 showed significant cytotoxic activities against all human cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 3.4 to 10.2 μm . Compound 3 containing acetyl group at glc C(6″) exhibited weak cytotoxic activity with IC50 values ranging from 47.0 to 54.4 μm .  相似文献

A newly discovered triterpenoid, (2α,3β)‐2,3,23‐trihydroxyurs‐13(18)‐en‐28‐oic acid ( 1 ), along with twelve known compounds ( 2  –  13 ), were isolated from the roots of Actinidia chinensis Planch (Actinidiaceae). Their chemical structures were determined by 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR spectra and mass spectrometry (MS). The crude extracts and six main constituents ( 8  –  13 ) were tested for cytochrome P450 (CYPs) enzyme inhibitory activity. The results showed that, except for compound 8 , compounds 9  –  13 had different inhibitory effects on the cytochrome P450 (CYPs) enzyme, and compound 9 significantly inhibited the catalytic activities of CYP3A4 to < 10% of its control activities.  相似文献

Phytochemical investigation on the barks of Betula platyphylla var. japonica (Betulaceae) was carried out, resulting in the isolation and identification of three new triterpenoids, 27‐Ocis‐caffeoylcylicodiscic acid ( 1 ), 27‐Ocis‐feruloylcylicodiscic acid ( 2 ), and 27‐Ocis‐caffeoylmyricerol ( 3 ), along with six known triterpenoids, obtusilinin ( 4 ), winchic acid ( 5 ), 27‐Otrans‐caffeoylcylicodiscic acid ( 6 ), uncarinic acid E ( 7 ), myriceric acid B ( 8 ), and 3‐Otrans‐caffeoyloleanolic acid ( 9 ). The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR, and HR‐ESI‐MS. All of the isolated compounds were evaluated for cytotoxicity against four human tumor cell lines (A549, SK‐OV‐3, SK‐MEL‐2, and Bt549). Compounds 2 , 6 , 8 , and 9 exhibited potent cytotoxicity against all of the tumor cells tested (IC50 < 10.0 μm ), while compounds 3 , 4 , 5 , and 7 showed moderate cytotoxicity against all of the tumor cells tested (IC50 < 20.0 μm ).  相似文献

Bioactivity‐guided fractionation of antileishmanial active extract from leaves of Casearia arborea led to isolation of three metabolites: tricin ( 1 ), 1′,6′‐di‐Oβ‐d ‐vanilloyl glucopyranoside ( 2 ) and vanillic acid ( 3 ). Compound 1 demonstrated the highest activity against the intracellular amastigotes of Leishmania infantum, with an IC50 value of 56 μm . Tricin ( 1 ) demonstrated selectivity in mammalian cells (SI > 7) and elicited immunomodulatory effect on host cells. The present work suggests that tricin modulated the respiratory burst of macrophages to a leishmanicidal state, contributing to the parasite elimination. Therefore, the natural compound tricin could be further explored in drug design studies for leishmaniasis treatment.  相似文献

Gentiana rhodantha Franch. ex Hemsl. (Gentianaceae), an annual herb widely distributed in the southwest of China, has been medicinally used for the treatment of inflammation, cholecystitis, and tuberculosis by the local people of its growing areas. Chemical investigation on the whole plants led to the identification of eight new phenolic compounds, rhodanthenones A–D ( 1 – 4 , resp.), apigenin 7‐O‐glucopyranosyl‐(1→3)‐glucopyranosyl‐(1→3)‐glucopyranoside ( 5 ), 1,2‐dihydroxy‐4‐methoxybenzene 1‐Oα‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐D ‐glucopyranoside ( 6 ), 1,2‐dihydroxy‐4,6‐dimethoxybenzene 1‐Oα‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→6)‐β‐D ‐glucopyranoside ( 7 ), and methyl 2‐Oβ‐D ‐glucopyranosyl‐2,4,6‐trihydroxybenzoate ( 8 ), together with eleven known compounds, 9 – 19 . Their structures were determined on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analyses and chemical methods. Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition and cytotoxicity tests against five human cancer cell lines showed that only rhodanthenone D ( 4 ) and mangiferin ( 12 ) exhibited 18.4 and 13.4% of AChE inhibitory effects at a concentration of 10−4 M , respectively, while compounds 1 – 5 and the known xanthones lancerin ( 11 ), mangiferin ( 12 ), and neomangiferin ( 13 ) displayed no cytotoxicity at a concentration of 40 μM .  相似文献

Bioassay‐guided phytochemical investigation of the stalks of Microtropis triflora Merr . & F.L. Freeman led to the isolation of ten triterpenes 1  –  10 , including one novel compound 3,24‐epoxy‐2α,24‐dihydroxyfriedelan‐29‐oic acid ( 1 ). Their chemical structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, including HR‐ESI mass spectrometry, 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR (1H, 13C, 1H,1H‐COSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY), and by comparison with the data reported. The cytotoxicities of compounds 1  –  10 against a panel of cultured human tumor cell lines (Bcap37, SMMC7721, HeLa, CNE) were evaluated. The new compound 1 showed moderate anti‐tumor activities with IC50 values of 39.22, 29.24, 23.28, and 68.81 μm /ml, respectively. These results might be helpful for explaining the use of Mtriflora in traditional medicine. Triterpenes are characteristic of Microtropis genus and could be useful as potential chemotaxonomic markers.  相似文献

Kalanchoe daigremontiana (Crassulaceae) is a medicinal plant native to Madagascar. The aim of this study was to investigate the flavonoid content of an aqueous leaf extract from Kdaigremontiana (Kd), and assess its antiherpetic potential. The major flavonoid, kaempferol 3‐Oβ‐d ‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐l ‐rhamnopyranoside ( 1 ), was isolated from the AcOEt fraction (Kd‐AC). The BuOH‐soluble fraction afforded quercetin 3‐Oβ‐d ‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐l ‐rhamnopyranoside ( 2 ) and the new kaempferol 3‐Oβ‐d ‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐l ‐rhamnopyranoside‐7‐Oβ‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 3 ), named daigremontrioside. The crude extract, Kd‐AC fraction, flavonoids 1 and 2 were evaluated using acyclovir‐sensitive strains of HSV‐1 and HSV‐2. Kd‐AC was highly active against HSV‐1 (EC50 = 0.97 μg/ml, SI > 206.1) and HSV‐2 (EC50 = 0.72 μg/ml, SI > 277.7). Flavonoids 1 and 2 showed anti‐HSV‐1 (EC50 = 7.4 μg/ml; SI > 27 and EC50 = 5.8 μg/ml; SI > 8.6, respectively) and anti‐HSV‐2 (EC50 = 9.0 μg/ml; SI > 22.2 and EC50 = 36.2 μg/ml; SI > 5.5, respectively) activities, suggesting the contribution of additional substances to the antiviral activity.  相似文献

The study of the monoterpene glycosides content of Odontites luteus has shown the presence of a total of fifteen iridoid glucosides. The presence of compounds 1  –  5 and 7  –  10 is perfectly on‐line with both the biogenetic pathway for iridoids biosynthesis in Lamiales and the current botanical classification of the species. On the other side, the presence of compounds like agnuside ( 6 ), adoxosidic acid ( 11 ), monotropein ( 12 ), 6,7‐dihydromonotropein ( 13 ), methyl oleoside ( 14 ) and methyl glucooleoside ( 15 ) is of high interest because, first of all, they have never been reported before in Lamiales. In second instance, the majority of the last compounds are formally derived from a different biogenetic pathway which involves deoxyloganic acid/loganin and led to the formation of decarboxylated iridoid showing the 8β‐configuration. Furthermore, a second abnormality was found during our study and this regards compounds 14 and 15 which are seco‐iriodids and thus not typical for this family. The presence of these unusual compounds, biogenetically not related to species belonging to Lamiales, is a clear evidence of the metabolites transfer from the hosts. In fact, the collection area is also populated by species belonging to Oleaceae and Ericaceae which could be the possible hosts since the biosynthesis of seco‐iridoids and or iridoids related to deoxyloganic acid/loganin pathway, with the 8β‐configuration, is well documented in these species.  相似文献

Five chromone glycosides were isolated from the water‐soluble portions of 70% EtOH extract of the roots of Saposhnikovia divaricata, including two new chromone glycosides 1 and 2 . The structures of the chromone glycosides were identified as (3′S)‐3′‐O‐β‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1 → 6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosylhamaudol ( 1 ), (2′S)‐4′‐Oβ‐d ‐apiofuranosyl‐(1 → 6)‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosylvisamminol ( 2 ), 3′‐O‐glucopyranosylhamaudol ( 3 ), 4′‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosylvisamminol ( 4 ), and 4′‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐5‐O‐methylvisamminol ( 5 ) on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods, and the absolute configurations of the new compounds were elucidated by the electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculation and acid hydrolysis. The cytotoxic activities of the glycosides 1 – 5 against three human cancer cell lines (PC‐3, SK‐OV‐3, and H460) were evaluated. The result showed that compounds 1 – 5 had weak cytotoxic activities against the human cancer cell lines with IC50 values in the range of 48.54 ± 0.80 – 94.25 ± 1.45 μm .  相似文献

The objective of this study was to profile the chemical components and biological activity analysis of crude extract of Bryophyllum pinnatum and Oxalis corniculata. Results revealed that the analyzed plant materials encompass the high amount of total phenolic and flavonoids content and have significant antioxidant activities. Furthermore, methanol extracts are the potential source of α‐amylase, α‐glucosidase, lipase, tyrosinase and elastase inhibitors. High resolution mass spectrometry revealed the presence of diverse metabolites such as quercetin 3‐Oα‐L‐rhamnopyranoside, myricetin 3‐rhamnoside, bersaldegenin 1,3,5‐orthoacetate, bryophyllin C, syringic acid, caffeic acid, p‐coumaric acid, and quercetin in B. pinnatum and isoorientin, swertisin, apigenin 7,4′‐diglucoside, vitexin, 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, ethyl gallate, 3,3′,4′‐trihydroxy‐5,7‐dimethoxyflavone, and diosmetin‐7‐Oβ‐D‐glucopyranoside in O. corniculata. Our finding suggested that these two plant species have high medicinal importance and are potential source of inhibitors for modern pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and cosmetics industries.  相似文献

The chemical composition of the essential oils and hydrosol extract from aerial parts of Calendula arvensis L. was investigated using GC‐FID and GC/MS. Intra‐species variations of the chemical compositions of essential oils from 18 Algerian sample locations were investigated using statistical analysis. Chemical analysis allowed the identification of 53 compounds amounting to 92.3 – 98.5% with yields varied of 0.09 – 0.36% and the main compounds were zingiberenol 1 (8.7 – 29.8%), eremoligenol (4.2 – 12.5%), β‐curcumene (2.1 – 12.5%), zingiberenol 2 (4.6 – 19.8%) and (E,Z)‐farnesol (3.5 – 23.4%). The study of the chemical variability of essential oils allowed the discrimination of two main clusters confirming that there is a relation between the essential oil compositions and the harvest locations. Different concentrations of essential oil and hydrosol extract were prepared and their antioxidant activity were assessed using three methods (2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl, Ferric‐Reducing Antioxidant Power Assay and β‐carotene). The results showed that hydrosol extract presented an interesting antioxidant activity. The in vitro antifungal activity of hydrosol extract produced the best antifungal inhibition against Penicillium expansum and Aspergillus niger, while, essential oil was inhibitory at relatively higher concentrations. Results showed that the treatments of pear fruits with essential oil and hydrosol extract presented a very interesting protective activity on disease severity of pears caused by Pexpansum.  相似文献

Pinecones from Pinus koraiensisSiebold & Zucc . (Pinaceae), which have historically been treated as an undesired waste by‐product in the processing of seeds, have recently been shown to contain ingredients with potent biological activities, such as polyphenols exhibiting antitumor activity. With this study, we seek to broaden our understanding of antitumor compounds contained in these pinecones beyond just polyphenols. We found that the water extract of P. koraiensis pinecones exhibits significant cytotoxic activity, with IC50 values ranging from 0.62 to 1.73 mg/ml in four human lung cancer cell lines, A549, H1264, H1299, and Calu‐6, irrespective of their p53 status. We also demonstrate that pinecone water extract induces apoptosis associated with caspase‐3 activation in the same cancer cell lines. Chemical investigation of the pinecone water extract revealed eight main components ( 1  –  8 ), and their structures were identified as dehydroabietic acid ( 1 ), 15‐hydroxy‐7‐oxodehydroabietic acid ( 2 ), 7β,15‐dihydroxydehydroabietic acid ( 3 ), β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl labda‐8(17,13)‐diene‐(15,16)‐lactone‐19‐oate ( 4 ), 7α,15‐dihydroxydehydroabietic acid ( 5 ), (+)‐(1S,2S,4R)‐limonene‐1,2‐diol ( 6 ), sobrerol ( 7 ), and 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid ( 8 ). These findings suggest a novel biological application of P. koraiensis pinecones in combatting human lung cancer, and further identify the major compounds that could contribute to this anticancer activity.  相似文献

Piptadenin ( 1 ), a new triterpene along with piptadenamide ( 10 ), a new ceramide, have been isolated from the AcOEt‐soluble fraction of the MeOH extract of the stem bark of Piptadeniastrum africanum along with nine known compounds, 1‐O‐[(3β,22β)‐3,22‐dihydroxy‐28‐oxoolean‐12‐en‐28‐yl]‐β‐d ‐glucopyranose ( 2 ), 22β‐hydroxyoleanic acid ( 3 ), oleanic acid ( 4 ), lupeol ( 5 ), betulinic acid ( 6 ), 5α‐stigmasta‐7,22‐dien‐3β‐ol ( 7 ), 5α‐stigmasta‐7,22‐dien‐3‐one ( 8 ), (3β)‐stigmast‐5‐en‐3‐yl β‐d ‐glucopyranoside ( 9 ) and 2,3‐dihydroxypropyl hexacosanoate ( 11 ). Except for compound 11 , all the isolated compounds are reported for the first time from this plant. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR. The pure compounds 1 – 11 were subjected to the pharmacological screening and compounds 2 , 5 – 7 and 9 exhibited potent urease inhibitory activity with IC50 value of 25.8, 28.9, 30.1, 31.8 and 32.7 μm , respectively, whereas compound 1 showed moderate activity (IC50 = 98.7 μm ). The potent urease inhibitory activity supplemented the previous literature reports and medicinal uses of this plant.  相似文献
