Among the numerous causes of lipomobilization of fatty acids from the adipose tissue it is also carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). The research shows that the saturated fatty acids decreased in this tissue of the rats injected with CCl4, even if the linolenic and alpha-linolenic acids are present in the diet.  相似文献

Selective mobilization of fatty acids from adipose tissue triacylglycerols   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Adipose tissue triacylglycerols represent the main storage of a wide spectrum of fatty acids differing by molecular structure. The release of individual fatty acids from adipose tissue is selective according to carbon chain length and unsaturation degree in vitro and in vivo in animal studies and also in humans. The mechanism of selective fatty acid mobilization from white fat cells is not known. Lipolysis is widely reported to work at a lipid-water interface where only small amounts of substrate are available. A preferential hydrolysis of a small triacylglycerol fraction enriched in certain triacylglycerol molecular species at the lipid-water interface and enzymological properties of hormone-sensitive lipase could explain the selective mobilization of fatty acids from fat cells. This selectivity could affect the individual fatty acid supply to tissues.  相似文献

It has been demonstrated that thermogenic activity of brown adipose tissue (BAT) is higher during the early postnatal period, decreasing towards a low adult level. The present study examined postnatal changes in the lipid composition of BAT. BAT from pre-weaning rats at 4 and 14 days old showed the following differences in lipid composition compared to that from adults of 12 weeks old. (i) Relative weight of interscapular BAT to body weight was markedly greater. (ii) BAT-triglyceride (TG) level was lower, while BAT-phospholipid (PL)level was higher. (iii) In TG fatty acids (FA) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PU; mol %), arachidonate index (AI), unsaturation index (UI) and PU/saturated FA (SA) were higher; rare FA such as eicosadienoate, bishomo--linolenic acid and lignoceric acid in mol % were also higher. (iv) In PL-FA monounsaturated FA (MU) in mol % was lower; PU mol %, AI and UI were higher. These features in BAT of pre-weaning rats resembled those in the cold-acclimated adults, suggesting a close relationship of the PL-FA profile to high activity of BAT.  相似文献

This article reviews synthetic routes leading to polyunsaturated fatty acids having “skipped” double bonds. Emphasis is placed on the “acetylenic approach”.The suitability of building blocks, their condensation reactions as well as the controlled reduction of triple bonds to cis double bonds are discussed. The mobilization of fatty acids during food deprivation is a selective process studied in different species (humans, rodents, birds, viverrids). The aim of this work was to study the effect of fasting on selective mobilization in commercial pigs. A total of 16 barrows (Large White×Landrace (167 kg±12.5 kg live weight) were subdivided into two homogeneous groups, one subjected to 12 h and the other to 60 h of fasting (fasting time) before slaughtering. For each pig inner and outer backfat layer were sampled at slaughter and at ham trimming 24 h later (sampling time). Increasing the fasting time and the sampling time after slaughter caused an increase in the amount of free fatty acids in both layers. Therefore it can be argued that during fasting lipolysis is stimulated and remains active also after slaughtering. The factors that stimulate lipolysis determine a greater mobilization of unsaturated fatty acids than saturated ones. Thus fasting time may influence the suitability of pork for processing and conservation, since free fatty acids are more suitable for oxidation than the esterified ones.  相似文献

Three diets, consisting respectively of formulations high in oleic and stearic acid, linolenic acid, and lauric acid, were fed to rats until the adipose tissue TGFA largely reflected the dietary pattern of fatty acids. The composition of the serum FFA under basal conditions and following noradrenaline-stimulated lipolysis, were examined in relation to the respective adipose tissue TGFA. It was found in both in vivo and in vitro studies that lauric acid appeared to be less easily mobilized than longer chain acids. The in vitro studies indicated that this could not be explained either by positional preference of the shorter chain acids for the alpha-position of esterification or by increased reesterification of the shorter chain acids. The possibility remains that the difference is due to some specificity of tissue lipases for certain ester linkages.  相似文献

This paper describes the use of artificial neural networks to model cardiovascular autonomic control in a study of the hemodynamic changes associated with space flight. Cardiovascular system models were created including four parameters: heart rate, contractility, peripheral resistance, and venous tone. Artificial neural networks were then designed and trained. A technique known as backpropagation networking was used and the results of the application of this technique to heart rate control are presented and discussed.  相似文献

To investigate possible differences in triacylglyceride accumulation in adipose tissue, six different species have been studied (hamster, mouse, rat, rabbit, dog and pig). They were fed the same diet of high proportion of saturated fatty acids during 3 months after the lactation period. There are significant differences between the fatty acids in the diet and the studied tissue, a higher proportion of myristic, palmitoleic and linoleic acids together with a minor proportion of palmitic and stearic acids being accumulated in all studied species except in pig. The differences among species were significant in most cases being maximal in pig (57.7% of saturated fatty acids) and hamster (24.4% of saturated fatty acids). There is a direct relationship between the position of each fatty acid in the triacylglyceride and its proportion in the tissue, this proportion being maximal when the fatty acid is placed on position 2 in the triacylglycerides. There is also a relationship between the different position in the phylogenetic scale of each studied species and the differential fatty acid composition. All these data suggest that there are specific mechanisms involved in the fatty acids accumulation on the adipose tissue. The position of the different fatty acids in the triacylglyceride studied could be a part of this mechanism.  相似文献

In recent years, the advent of experimental methods to probe gene expression profiles of cancer on a genome-wide scale has led to widespread use of supervised machine learning algorithms to characterize these profiles. The main applications of these analysis methods range from assigning functional classes of previously uncharacterized genes to classification and prediction of different cancer tissues. This article surveys the application of machine learning algorithms to classification and diagnosis of cancer based on expression profiles. To exemplify the important issues of the classification procedure, the emphasis of this article is on one such method, namely artificial neural networks. In addition, methods to extract genes that are important for the performance of a classifier, as well as the influence of sample selection on prediction results are discussed.  相似文献
