The current Na+ storage performance of carbon‐based materials is still hindered by the sluggish Na+ ion transfer kinetics and low capacity. Graphene and its derivatives have been widely investigated as electrode materials in energy storage and conversion systems. However, as anode materials for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), the severe π–π restacking of graphene sheets usually results in compact structure with a small interlayer distance and a long ion transfer distance, thus leading to low capacity and poor rate capability. Herein, partially reduced holey graphene oxide is prepared by simple H2O2 treatment and subsequent low temperature reduction of graphene oxide, leading to large interlayer distance (0.434 nm), fast ion transport, and larger Na+ storage space. The partially remaining oxygenous groups can also contribute to the capacity by redox reaction. As anode material for SIBs, the optimized electrode delivers high reversible capacity, high rate capability (365 and 131 mAh g?1 at 0.1 and 10 A g?1, respectively), and good cycling performance (163 mAh g?1 after 3000 cycles at a current density of 2 A g?1), which is among the best reported performances for carbon‐based SIB anodes.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have a promising application prospect for energy storage systems due to the abundant resource. Amorphous carbon with high electronic conductivity and high surface area is likely to be the most promising anode material for SIBs. However, the rate capability of amorphous carbon in SIBs is still a big challenge because of the sluggish kinetics of Na+ ions. Herein, a three‐dimensional amorphous carbon (3DAC) with controlled porous and disordered structures is synthesized via a facile NaCl template‐assisted method. Combination of open porous structures of 3DAC, the increased disordered structures can not only facilitate the diffusion of Na+ ions but also enhance the reversible capacity of Na storage. When applied as anode materials for SIBs, 3DAC exhibits excellent rate capability (66 mA h g?1 at 9.6 A g?1) and high reversible capacity (280 mA h g?1 at a low current density of 0.03 A g?1). Moreover, the controlled porous structures by the NaCl template method provide an appropriate specific surface area, which contributes to a relatively high initial Coulombic efficiency of 75%. Additionally, the high‐rate 3DAC material is prepared via a green approach originating from low‐cost pitch and NaCl template, demonstrating an appealing development of carbon anode materials for SIBs.  相似文献

Different from previously reported mechanical alloying route to synthesize Sn x P3, novel Sn4P3/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) hybrids are synthesized for the first time through an in situ low‐temperature solution‐based phosphorization reaction route from Sn/RGO. Sn4P3 nanoparticles combining with advantages of high conductivity of Sn and high capacity of P are homogenously loaded on the RGO nanosheets, interconnecting to form 3D mesoporous architecture nanostructures. The Sn4P3/RGO hybrid architecture materials exhibit significantly improved electrochemical performance of high reversible capacity, high‐rate capability, and excellent cycling performance as sodium ion batteries (SIBs) anode materials, showing an excellent reversible capacity of 656 mA h g?1 at a current density of 100 mA g?1 over 100 cycles, demonstrating a greatly enhanced rate capability of a reversible capacity of 391 mA h g?1 even at a high current density of 2.0 A g?1. Moreover, Sn4P3/RGO SIBs anodes exhibit a superior long cycling life, delivering a high capacity of 362 mA h g?1 after 1500 cycles at a high current density of 1.0 A g?1. The outstanding cycling performance and rate capability of these porous hierarchical Sn4P3/RGO hybrid anodes can be attributed to the advantage of porous structure, and the synergistic effect between Sn4P3 nanoparticles and RGO nanosheets.  相似文献

Metal phosphides are promising anode candidates for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) due to their high specific capacity and low operating potential but suffer from poor cycling stability caused by huge volume expansion and poor solid‐state ion transfer rate. Herein, a new strategy to grow a new class of mesoporous metal phosphide nanoarrays on carbon felt (CF) as binder‐free anodes for SIBs is reported. The resultant integrated electrodes demonstrate excellent cycling life up to 1000 times (>90% retention rate) and high rate capability of 535 mAh g?1 at a current density of 4 A g?1. Detailed characterization reveals that the synergistic effect of unique mesoporous structure for accommodating huge volume expansion during sodiation/desodiation process, ultrasmall primary particle size (≈10 nm) for providing larger electrode/electrolyte contact area and shorter ion diffusion distance, and 3D conductive networks for facilitating the electrochemical reaction, leads to the extraordinary battery performance. Remarkably, a full SIB using the new CoP4/CF anode and a Na3V2(PO4)2F3 cathode delivers an average operating voltage of ≈3.0 V, a reversible capacity of 553 mAh g?1, and very high energy density of ≈280 Wh kg?1 for SIBs. A flexible SIB with outstanding mechanical strength based on this binder‐free new anode is also demonstrated.  相似文献

Since their commercialization by Sony in 1991, graphite anodes in combination with various cathodes have enabled the widespread success of lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), providing over 10 billion rechargeable batteries to the global population. Next‐generation nonaqueous alkali metal‐ion batteries, namely sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) and potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs), are projected to utilize intercalation‐based carbon anodes as well, due to their favorable electrochemical properties. While traditionally graphite anodes have dominated the market share of LIBs, other carbon materials have been investigated, including graphene, carbon nanotubes, and disordered carbons. The relationship between carbon material properties, electrochemical performance, and charge storage mechanisms is clarified for these alkali metal‐ion batteries, elucidating possible strategies for obtaining enhanced cycling stability, specific capacity, rate capability, and safety aspects. As a key component in determining cell performance, the solid electrolyte interphase layer is described in detail, particularly for its dependence on the carbon anode. Finally, battery safety at extreme temperatures is discussed, where carbon anodes are susceptible to dendrite formation, accelerated aging, and eventual thermal runaway. As society pushes toward higher energy density LIBs, this review aims to provide guidance toward the development of sustainable next‐generation SIBs and PIBs.  相似文献

Identifying suitable electrode materials for sodium‐ion and potassium‐ion storage holds the key to the development of earth‐abundant energy‐storage technologies. This study reports an anode material based on self‐assembled hierarchical spheroid‐like KTi2(PO4)3@C nanocomposites synthesized via an electrospray method. Such an architecture synergistically combines the advantages of the conductive carbon network and allows sufficient space for the infiltration of the electrolyte from the porous structure, leading to an impressive electrochemical performance, as reflected by the high reversible capacity (283.7 mA h g?1 for Na‐ion batteries; 292.7 mA h g?1 for K‐ion batteries) and superior rate capability (136.1 mA h g?1 at 10 A g?1 for Na‐ion batteries; 133.1 mA h g?1 at 1 A g?1 for K‐ion batteries) of the resulting material. Moreover, the different ion diffusion behaviors in the two systems are revealed to account for the difference in rate performance. These findings suggest that KTi2(PO4)3@C is a promising candidate as an anode material for sodium‐ion and potassium‐ion batteries. In particular, the present synthetic approach could be extended to other functional electrode materials for energy‐storage materials.  相似文献

The development of sodium‐ion batteries for large‐scale applications requires the synthesis of electrode materials with high capacity, high initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE), high rate performance, long cycle life, and low cost. A rational design of freestanding anode materials is reported for sodium‐ion batteries, consisting of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets aligned vertically on carbon paper derived from paper towel. The hierarchical structure enables sufficient electrode/electrolyte interaction and fast electron transportation. Meanwhile, the unique architecture can minimize the excessive interface between carbon and electrolyte, enabling high ICE. The as‐prepared MoS2@carbon paper composites as freestanding electrodes for sodium‐ion batteries can liberate the traditional electrode manufacturing procedure, thereby reducing the cost of sodium‐ion batteries. The freestanding MoS2@carbon paper electrode exhibits a high reversible capacity, high ICE, good cycling performance, and excellent rate capability. By exploiting in situ Raman spectroscopy, the reversibility of the phase transition from 2H‐MoS2 to 1T‐MoS2 is observed during the sodium‐ion intercalation/deintercalation process. This work is expected to inspire the development of advanced electrode materials for high‐performance sodium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Na‐ion capacitors have attracted extensive interest due to the combination of the merits of high energy density of batteries and high power density as well as long cycle life of capacitors. Here, a novel Na‐ion capacitor, utilizing TiO2@CNT@C nanorods as an intercalation‐type anode and biomass‐derived carbon with high surface area as an ion adsorption cathode in an organic electrolyte, is reported. The advanced architecture of TiO2@CNT@C nanorods, prepared by electrospinning method, demonstrates excellent cyclic stability and outstanding rate capability in half cells. The contribution of extrinsic pseudocapacitance affects the rate capability to a large extent, which is identified by kinetics analysis. A key finding is that ion/electron transfer dynamics of TiO2@CNT@C could be effectively enhanced due to the addition of multiwalled carbon nanotubes. Also, the biomass‐derived carbon with high surface area displays high specific capacity and excellent rate capability. Owing to the merits of structures and excellent performances of both anode and cathode materials, the assembled Na‐ion capacitors provide an exceptionally high energy density (81.2 W h kg?1) and high power density (12 400 W kg?1) within 1.0–4.0 V. Meanwhile, the Na‐ion capacitors achieve 85.3% capacity retention after 5000 cycles tested at 1 A g?1.  相似文献

The pursuit of more efficient carbon‐based anodes for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) prepared from facile and economical methods is a very important endeavor. Based on the crystallinity difference within carbon materials, herein, a low‐temperature selective burning method is developed for preparing oxygen and nitrogen codoped holey graphene aerogel as additive‐free anode for SIBs. By selective burning of a mixture of graphene and low‐crystallinity carbon at 450 °C in air, an elastic porous graphene monolith with abundant holes on graphene sheets and optimized crystallinity is obtained. These structural characteristics lead to an additive‐free electrode with fast charge (ions and electrons) transfer and more abundant Na+ storage active sites. Moreover, the heteroatom oxygen/nitrogen doping favors large interlayer distance for rapid Na+ insertion/extraction and provides more active sites for high capacitive contribution. The optimized sample exhibits superior sodium‐ion storage capability, i.e., high specific capacity (446 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1), ultrahigh rate capability (189 mAh g?1 at 10 A g?1), and long cycle life (81.0% capacity retention after 2000 cycles at 5 A g?1). This facile and economic strategy might be extended to fabricating other superior carbon‐based energy storage materials.  相似文献

Yolk‐like TiO2 are prepared through an asymmetric Ostwald ripening, which is simultaneously doped by nitrogen and wrapped by carbon from core to shell. It presents a high specific surface area (144.9 m2 g?1), well‐defined yolk‐like structure (600–700 nm), covered with interweaved nanosheets (3–5 nm) and tailored porosity (5–10 nm) configuration. When first utilized as anode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), it delivers a high reversible specific capacity of 242.7 mA h g?1 at 0.5 C and maintains a considerable capacity of 115.9 mA h g?1 especially at rate 20 C. Moreover, the reversible capacity can still reach 200.7 mA h g?1 after 550 cycles with full capacity retention at 1 C. Even cycled at extremely high rate 25 C, the capacity retention of 95.5% after 3000 cycles is acquired. Notably, an ultrahigh initial coulombic efficiency of 59.1% is achieved. The incorporation of nitrogen with narrowing the band gap accompanied with carbon uniformly coating from core to shell make the NC TiO2‐Y favor a bulk type conductor, resulting in fast electron transfer, which is beneficial to long‐term cycling stability and remarkable rate capability. It is of great significance to improve the energy‐storage properties through development of the bulk type conductor as anode materials in SIBs.  相似文献

Hard carbon (HC) is the state‐of‐the‐art anode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). However, its performance has been plagued by the limited initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and mediocre rate performance. Here, experimental and theoretical studies are combined to demonstrate the application of lithium‐pretreated HC (LPHC) as high‐performance anode materials for SIBs by manipulating the solid electrolyte interphase in tetraglyme (TEGDME)‐based electrolyte. The LPHC in TEGDME can 1) deliver > 92% ICE and ≈220 mAh g?1 specific capacity, twice of the capacity (≈100 mAh g?1) in carbonate electrolyte; 2) achieve > 85% capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 1000 mA g?1 current density (4 C rate, 1 C = 250 mA g?1) with a specific capacity of ≈150 mAh g?1, ≈15 times of the capacity (10 mAh g?1) in carbonate. The full cell of Na3V2(PO4)3‐LPHC in TEGDME demonstrated close to theoretical specific capacity of ≈98 mAh g?1 based on Na3V2(PO4)3 cathode, ≈2.5 times of the value (≈40 mAh g?1) with nontreated HC. Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted more and more attention for scalable electrical energy storage due to the abundance and wide distribution of Na resources. However, the anode still remains a great challenge for the application of SIBs. Here the production of uniform hard carbon microtubes (HCTs) made from natural cotton through one simple carbonization process and their application as an anode are reported. The study shows that the electrochemical performance of the HCTs is seriously affected by the carbonization temperature due to the difference in their microstructure and heteroatomic content. The HCTs carbonized at 1300 °C deliver the highest reversible capacity of 315 mAh g?1 and good rate capability due to their unique tubular structure. This contribution not only provides a new approach for the preparation of hard carbon materials with unique tubular microstructure using natural inspiration, but it also deepens the fundamental understanding of the sodium storage mechanism.  相似文献

The electrochemical performance of mesoporous carbon (C)/tin (Sn) anodes in Na‐ion and Li‐ion batteries is systematically investigated. The mesoporous C/Sn anodes in a Na‐ion battery shows similar cycling stability but lower capacity and poorer rate capability than that in a Li‐ion battery. The desodiation potentials of Sn anodes are approximately 0.21 V lower than delithiation potentials. The low capacity and poor rate capability of C/Sn anode in Na‐ion batteries is mainly due to the large Na‐ion size, resulting in slow Na‐ion diffusion and large volume change of porous C/Sn composite anode during alloy/dealloy reactions. Understanding of the reaction mechanism between Sn and Na ions will provide insight towards exploring and designing new alloy‐based anode materials for Na‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Presently, commercialization of sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) is still hindered by the relatively poor energy‐storage performance. In addition, low‐temperature (low‐T) Na storage is another principal concern for the wide application of SIBs. Unfortunately, the Na‐transfer kinetics is extremely sluggish at low‐T, as a result, there are few reports on low‐T SIBs. Here, an advanced low‐T sodium‐ion full battery (SIFB) assembled by an anode of 3D Se/graphene composite and a high‐voltage cathode (Na3V2(PO4)2O2F) is developed, exhibiting ultralong lifespan (over even 15 000 cycles, the capacity retention is still up to 86.3% at 1 A g?1), outstanding low‐T energy storage performance (e.g., all values of capacity retention are >75% after 1000 cycles at temperatures from 25 to ?25 °C at 0.4 A g?1), and high‐energy/power properties. Such ultralong lifespan signifies that the developed sodium‐ion full battery can be used for longer than 60 years, if batteries charge/discharge once a day and 80% capacity retention is the standard of battery life. As a result, the present study not only promotes the practicability and commercialization of SIBs but also points out the new developing directions of next‐generation energy storage for wider range applications.  相似文献

A simple and template‐free method for preparing three‐dimensional (3D) porous γ‐Fe2O3@C nanocomposite is reported using an aerosol spray pyrolysis technology. The nanocomposite contains inner‐connected nanochannels and γ‐Fe2O3 nanoparticles (5 nm) uniformly embedded in a porous carbon matrix. The size of γ‐Fe2O3 nanograins and carbon content can be controlled by the concentration of the precursor solution. The unique structure of the 3D porous γ‐Fe2O3@C nanocomposite offers a synergistic effect to alleviate stress, accommodate large volume change, prevent nanoparticles aggregation, and facilitate the transfer of electrons and electrolyte during prolonged cycling. Consequently, the nanocomposite shows high‐rate capability and long‐term cyclability when applied as an anode material for Na‐ion batteries (SIBs). Due to the simple one‐pot synthesis technique and high electrochemical performance, 3D porous γ‐Fe2O3@C nanocomposites have a great potential as anode materials for rechargeable SIBs.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) are considered to be a promising alternative for large‐scale electricity storage. However, it is urgent to develop new anode materials with superior ultralong cycle life performance at high current rates. Herein, a low‐cost and large‐scalable sulfur‐doped carbon anode material that exhibits the best high‐rate cycle performance and the longest cycle life ever reported for carbon anodes is developed. The material delivers a reversible capacity of 142 mA h g?1 at a current rate up to 10 A g?1. After 10 000 cycles the capacity is remained at 126.5 mA h g?1; 89.1% of the initial value. Density functional theory computations demonstrate that the sulfur‐doped carbon has a strong binding affinity for sodium which promotes sodium storage. Meanwhile, the kinetics analysis identifies the capacitive charge storage as a large contributor to sodium storage, which favors ultrafast storage of sodium ions. These results demonstrate a new way to design carbon‐based SIBs anodes for next‐generation large‐scale electricity storage.  相似文献

Na3V2(PO4)3 (NVP) is regarded as a promising cathode for advanced sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) due to its high theoretical capacity and stable sodium (Na) super ion conductor (NASICON) structure. However, strongly impeded by its low electronic conductivity, the general NVP delivers undesirable rate capacity and fails to meet the demands for quick charge. Herein, a novel and facile synthesis of layer‐by‐layer NVP@reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposite is presented through modifying the surface charge of NVP gel precursor. The well‐designed layered NVP@rGO with confined NVP nanocrystal in between rGO layers offers high electronic and ionic conductivity as well as stable structure. The NVP@rGO nanocomposite with merely ≈3.0 wt% rGO and 0.5 wt% amorphous carbon, yet exhibits extraordinary electrochemical performance: a high capacity (118 mA h g?1 at 0.5 C attaining the theoretical value), a superior rate capability (73 mA h g?1 at 100 C and even up to 41 mA h g?1 at 200 C), ultralong cyclability (70.0% capacity retention after 15 000 cycles at 50 C), and stable cycling performance and excellent rate capability at both low and high operating temperatures. The proposed method and designed layer‐by‐layer active nanocrystal@rGO strategy provide a new avenue to create nanostructures for advanced energy storage applications.  相似文献

Sodium ion batteries (SIBs) have drawn significant attention owing to their low cost and inherent safety. However, the absence of suitable anode materials with high rate capability and long cycling stability is the major challenge for the practical application of SIBs. Herein, an efficient anode material consisting of uniform hollow iron sulfide polyhedrons with cobalt doping and graphene wrapping (named as CoFeS@rGO) is developed for high‐rate and long‐life SIBs. The graphene‐encapsulated hollow composite assures fast and continuous electron transportation, high Na+ ion accessibility, and strong structural integrity, showing an extremely small volume expansion of only 14.9% upon sodiation and negligible volume contraction during the desodiation. The CoFeS@rGO electrode exhibits high specific capacity (661.9 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1), excellent rate capability (449.4 mAh g?1 at 5000 mA g?1), and long cycle life (84.8% capacity retention after 1500 cycles at 1000 mA g?1). In situ X‐ray diffraction and selected‐area electron diffraction patterns show that this novel CoFeS@rGO electrode is based on a reversible conversion reaction. More importantly, when coupled with a Na3V2(PO4)3/C cathode, the sodium ion full battery delivers a superexcellent rate capability (496.8 mAh g?1 at 2000 mA g?1) and ≈96.5% capacity retention over 200 cycles at 500 mA g?1 in the 1.0–3.5 V window. This work indicates that the rationally designed anode material is highly applicable for the next generation SIBs with high‐rate capability and long‐term cyclability.  相似文献

A hybrid nanoarchitecture aerogel composed of WS2 nanosheets and carbon nanotube‐reduced graphene oxide (CNT‐rGO) with ordered microchannel three‐dimensional (3D) scaffold structure was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method followed by freeze‐drying and post annealing process. The 3D ordered microchannel structures not only provide good electronic transportation routes, but also provide excellent ionic conductive channels, leading to an enhanced electrochemical performance as anode materials both for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Significantly, WS2/CNT‐rGO aerogel nanostructure can deliver a specific capacity of 749 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1 and a high first‐cycle coulombic efficiency of 53.4% as the anode material of LIBs. In addition, it also can deliver a capacity of 311.4 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1, and retain a capacity of 252.9 mA h g?1 at 200 mA g?1 after 100 cycles as the anode electrode of SIBs. The excellent electrochemical performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between the WS2 nanosheets and CNT‐rGO scaffold network and rational design of 3D ordered structure. These results demonstrate the potential applications of ordered CNT‐rGO aerogel platform to support transition‐metal‐dichalcogenides (i.e., WS2) for energy storage devices and open up a route for material design for future generation energy storage devices.  相似文献

Li‐ion batteries as energy storage devices need to be periodically charged for sustainably powering electronic devices owing to their limited capacities. Here, the feasibility of utilizing Li‐ion batteries as both the energy storage and scavenging units is demonstrated. Flexible Li‐ion batteries fabricated from electrospun LiMn2O4 nanowires as cathode and carbon nanowires as anode enable a capacity retention of 90% coulombic efficiency after 50 cycles. Through the coupling between triboelectrification and electrostatic induction, the adjacent electrodes of two Li‐ion batteries can deliver an output peak voltage of about 200 V and an output peak current of about 25 µA under ambient wind‐induced vibrations of a hexafluoropropene–tetrafluoroethylene copolymer film between the two Li‐ion batteries. The self‐charging Li‐ion batteries have been demonstrated to charge themselves up to 3.5 V in about 3 min under wind‐induced mechanical excitations. The advantages of the self‐charging Li‐ion batteries can provide important applications for sustainably powering electronics and self‐powered sensor systems.  相似文献
