Plasma catecholamine concentrations and dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activities were studied in 29 participants of a six-day cross-country ski-hike (260 km) to elucidate the adaptive responses of the sympatho-adrenal system to prolonged heavy exercise. Immediately after skiing on the first skiing day plasma noradrenaline concentrations appeared to be over twice as high as in the morning. On the morning of the fourth day noradrenaline levels had increased significantly when compared to those of the first morning. Concentrations after skiing on the fourth day were, however, about the same as in the first evening. After a submaximal ergometer test performed immediately after the skiing concentrations were still raised and the relative enhancement by this short-term exercise was about the same magnitude (40--60 %) on every test day. On the sixth day noradrenaline concentrations were about the same level as on the fourth day. Eleven days after the hike the basal noradrenaline levels were still about 25 % higher than before it. The changes of plasma adrenaline concentrations were in the same direction although not as striking as those of noradrenaline. Dopamine alterations were negligible. A significant but reversible decrease in plasma dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activities and cholesterol concentrations was found during the hike. The present results show that the sympatho-adrenal system is activated during the first few days of a ski-hike type prolonged exercise. A plateau developed in about four days. There were no signs of a decreased sympatho-adrenal response to a short-term heavy load.  相似文献

The effect of high dose medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) on serum lipids, on adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and serum lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase activities were studied in 15 postmenopausal patients with endometrial cancer. After 2 weeks of MPA treatment total cholesterol decreased by 14% (P less than 0.001) and HDL cholesterol by 33% (P less than 0.01) from the respective pretreatment values; correspondingly the ratio of HDL to total cholesterol decreased (P less than 0.05). The decrease of HDL2 cholesterol was 35% (P less than 0.01) and that of HDL3 cholesterol 15% (P less than 0.01). The levels of serum triglycerides decreased significantly (P less than 0.05) during the treatment period. Serum LCAT activity was significantly lower (P less than 0.05) after treatment than before, but adipose tissue LPL activity was not altered. The mean serum testosterone level decreased significantly (P less than 0.001) from the pretreatment values. Significant positive correlations were present between LPL activity and MPA concentrations and between LPL activity and testosterone concentrations after the drug treatment.  相似文献

Previous data of lipid and lipoprotein level changes with the application of danazol, an isoxazol derivative of 17-alpha-ethinyl testosterone, have been conflicting. We measured cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoproteins and high density lipoproteins, estradiol and progesterone in 62 patients treated for endometriosis with danazol 600 mg daily. The fasting blood samples were taken before, every month during danazol medication, and 4, 12 and 24 weeks after cessation of therapy. Inconsistent changes in total cholesterol and triglyceride levels were observed. The data showed a constant, though not significant increase of the mean LDL levels. Plasma HDL decreased approximately 45% during the first two months of danazol influence and remained constantly low for the rest of the treatment. The atherogenic ratio (LDL:HDL) was doubled by-danazol. Five patients developed a reversible type IIa hyperlipoproteinemia. The plasma levels of estradiol decreased, but showed normal midfollicular values during the treatment period. In contrast, the plasma levels of progesterone fell significantly and were sometimes undetectable. These findings demonstrate an atherogenic potential of danazol, especially when long term treatment is taken into consideration.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of short-term physical exercise that did not change body mass on insulin sensitivity, insulin secretion, and glucose and lipid metabolism in 39 non-obese Japanese type 2 diabetic patients. Insulin sensitivity and insulin secretion were estimated with homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and HOMA-B-cell function proposed by Matthews et al., respectively. All patients were hospitalized and were engaged in low-intensity exercise that consisted of walking and dumbbell exercise for successive 7 days. There were no changes in hospital diet and the dose of any medications used throughout the study. Fasting glucose, insulin, and lipids were measured before and after exercise. After exercise, serum triglyceride levels significantly decreased, but no significant changes were observed in total and HDL cholesterol concentrations. Fasting glucose, insulin, and HOMA-IR levels significantly decreased after exercise, but HOMA-B-cell function did not change during the study. There was no significant difference between BMI levels before and after exercise. From these results, it can be concluded that short-term (7 days) low-intensity physical exercise combined with hospital diet reduces serum triglycerides, insulin resistance, and fasting glucose levels without affecting BMI in non-obese Japanese type 2 diabetic patients.  相似文献

Testosterone serum levels may influence the lipoprotein metabolism and possibly atherogenic risk. Our aim was to investigate the effects of long-term testosterone supplementation in hypogonadal men on multiple lipoprotein markers. 18 Hypogonadal men were studied before and after 3, 6, and 18 (n = 7) months of treatment with testosterone enanthate. During treatment, serum testosterone and estradiol increased, reaching normal levels (p < 0.0001 and 0.003, respectively). This was associated with a decrease in HDL cholesterol (from 1.40 +/- 0.10 mmol/l to 1.22 +/- 0.08 mmol/l, p < 0.001) after six months at the expense of HDL2 cholesterol (p < 0.01), as well as apoprotein A1 (from 139 +/- 3.4 mg/dl to 126 +/- 3.0 mg/dl, p < 0.005). Hepatic lipase activity increased (p < 0.05) and correlated positively with testosterone (r = 0.56, p < 0.02) and negatively with HDL cholesterol (r = - 0.58, p < 0.02). Total and LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and apoprotein B did not increase. Among the seven patients who completed 18 months of treatment, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL and HDL cholesterol, as well as total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol ratio values did not differ from baseline while apoprotein A1 (p < 0.03) and HDL cholesterol (p < 0.015) remained decreased and hepatic lipase unchanged. Restoration of testosterone levels in hypogonadal men in this study did not reveal unfavorable changes based on total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol/apoprotein B ratios, which are both atherogenic risk markers. Whether the changes in light of lipoprotein metabolism will adversely influence cardiovascular risk over time remains to be determined.  相似文献

Fifteen premenopausal women were studied before and 6 weeks after receiving subcutaneous implants of 100 mg estradiol. Serum estradiol levels doubled; increases were also seen in fasting serum total cholesterol and in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL). This increase was confined to the HDL2 subfraction, and was not reflected in the HDL apolipoproteins. Low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels were unchanged, as were those of apolipoprotein B, the major protein component of LDL. Carbohydrate metabolism was assessed in a subgroup of 12 women. Estrogen implantation reduced fasting plasma glucose levels but did not alter the plasma glucose response to an oral glucose tolerance test. Plasma insulin levels were unchanged both in the fasted state and during the glucose tolerance test. Our findings indicate that parenteral administration of estradiol can alter lipid and carbohydrate metabolism in premenopausal women.  相似文献

To compare postexercise changes in plasma lipids and lipoprotein enzymes in 13 hypercholesterolemic (HC) and 12 normocholesterolemic men [total cholesterol (TC) 252 +/- 5 vs. 179 +/- 5 mg/dl], fasting blood samples were obtained 24 h before, immediately, 24, and 48 h after a single bout of treadmill walking (70% peak O(2) consumption, 500 kcal expenditure). Significant findings (P < 0.05 for all) for plasma volume-adjusted lipid and enzyme variables were that TC, low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol, and cholesterol ester transfer protein activity were higher in the HC group but did not influence the lipid responses to exercise. Across groups, TC was transiently reduced immediately after exercise but returned to baseline levels by 24 h postexercise. Decreases in triglyceride and increases in high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and HDL(3)-C were observed 24 h after exercise and lasted through 48 h. Lipoprotein lipase activity was elevated by 24 h and remained elevated 48 h after exercise. HDL(2)-C, cholesterol ester transfer protein activity, hepatic triglyceride lipase, and lecithin: cholesterol acyltransferase activities did not change after exercise. These data indicate that the exercise-induced changes in HDL-C and triglyceride are similar in HC and normocholesterolemic men and may be mediated, at least in part, by an increase in lipoprotein lipase activity.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the acute effects of exercise on plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and to determine whether the magnitude of this response would be affected by the intensity of the exercise. Twelve men (19-41 yr) ran an equivalent distance (9-12 km) on a treadmill on two separate occasions. On one occasion the exercise was performed at a speed that elicited 60% of the subject's maximal O2 uptake (VO2max), and on the other occasion exercise was performed at a speed that elicited 90% of VO2max. Changes in total cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), HDL-C, HDL apoprotein A (HDL-A), HDL saturation, lactate (LA), and free fatty acids (FFA) were measured during the course of each run, and all values were corrected for changes in plasma volume as indicated by hematocrit. There were significant increases (P less than 0.01) in HDL-C, HDL-A, and HDL saturation with exercise at both intensities, but greater increases in HDL-C (25 vs. 14%) and HDL-A (18 vs. 8%) were observed with the higher intensity exercise. Plasma FFA and TG did not differ between conditions, but LA concentrations rose significantly during the high-intensity exercise. These results indicate that increases in HDL components can occur with a relatively moderate exercise session and that the magnitude of these increases are directly related to the exercise intensity.  相似文献

Nine male runners (23-46 yr) ran 6 mi near their maximal pace. Blood and urine samples were obtained prior to, immediately after, and 2 h following the run; 24-h urine collections were also taken on the run and nonrun days. Serum chromium increased significantly (P < 0.05) from 0.12 ± 0.02 (mean ± SE) to 0.17 ± 0.03 ng/mL immediately following running and remained elevated, 0.19 ± 0.03 ng/mL, after 2 h. Urinary chromium concentration was elevated several-fold 2 h following running and daily urinary chromium losses were about twofold higher on the day of the run compared to a rest day. Serum zinc was not significantly different from prerun values immediately following running, 81 ± 4 and 85 ± 4 pμg/dL, respectively, but then decreased significantly to 75 ± 4 2 h after exercise. Urinary zinc concentration was elevated more than twofold 2 h after running and total urinary losses on the day of the run were more than 1.5-fold higher than those on the nonrun day. Serum copper was not altered by exercise. Serum high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, but not total cholesterol increased significantly following running. HDL cholesterol values were similar to prerun values within 2 h of running. Serum triglycerides, phosphate, creatinine, bilirubin, uric acid, and alkaline phosphatase were also elevated immediately following running, whereas albumin, total protein, and blood urea nitrogen remained constant. These data demonstrate that accompanying the transitory changes in selected clinical indices caused by strenuous running there are alterations in chromium and zinc concentrations in serum and urine and increased specific urinary losses of these essential nutrients.  相似文献

The raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) is an omnivorous canid with autumnal hyperphagia and fattening followed by mid-winter passivity and fasting in boreal latitudes with seasonal snow cover. The effects of two different feeding levels (400 or 200 kcal/animal/d) or fasting (5-week fasting+1-week feeding+3-week fasting) on plasma lipids, sex steroids and reproductive success of farm-bred raccoon dogs (n=60 females and 24 males) were studied in winter. The body masses, body mass indices (BMIs) and levels of plasma triacylglycerols (TG), total cholesterol and low- and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol did not differ between the fed and the restrictively fed animals. During fasting, the plasma TG concentrations increased and the BMIs decreased, indicating the release of fatty acids from adipose tissue. After the fasting periods, the levels of plasma cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased, whereas the TG levels decreased indicating the rebuilding of energy reserves. The fact that the different wintertime feeding regimes had no impact on the plasma glucose, total protein, cortisol, estradiol, progesterone or testosterone levels, or on the reproductive success, indicates versatile adaptive capacity in the species.  相似文献

During a randomised placebo controlled trial of the effects of nadolol in hypertensive patients serum lipid profiles were obtained while the patients were fasting and during and after a meal and an exercise test. Treatment with nadolol was associated with a significant reduction in high density lipoprotein cholesterol at all time points. Serum triglyceride concentrations during treatment with nadolol were higher in the fasting state, though not significantly so, increased further postprandially, and were significantly higher during and after exercise. The changes in high density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations during beta adrenoceptor blockade may be secondary to a reduction in lipoprotein lipase activity.  相似文献

Hypercortisolism was induced in rats by the administration of a corticotrophin analogue (Synacthen depot). The effect of this treatment during different periods was studied in normally fed and overnight-fasted rats. The activity of liver-type lipases, i.e., of lipases similar to the heparin-releasable lipase of rat liver (liver lipase), was determined in the adrenal gland and in the liver. Short-term (16 h) treatment had no effect on the lipase activity in the adrenal gland. During prolonged treatment, however, the lipase activity rose to 600-700% of control values in 10 days and from then on remained constant. The effect was similar in fed and overnight-fasted rats. The lipase activity in the liver decreased upon Synacthen administration. In the fed rats a decrease of 25% of the initial value was found after 16 h, 40% after 3 days and 50% after 20 days of treatment. In overnight-fasted rats the lowering of the lipase activity was less marked than in fasted controls. Serum lipid levels and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) subclass concentrations were also measured. The cholesterol concentration in the lipoproteins with a density greater than 1.050 g/ml (HDL) was elevated in rats treated for 3-20 days. If the rats were treated for longer than 10 days, overnight fasting led to a normalization of the HDL-cholesterol levels. After separation of the HDL into two subfractions, a relatively 'light' apolipoprotein E-rich fraction and a more 'heavy' apolipoprotein A-I-rich fraction, in fed and fasted animals treated with Synacthen for 3 days both HDL subfractions were elevated. After 10 days treatment only the apolipoprotein A-I-rich HDL fraction was still enhanced in both fed and fasted rats.  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine serum lipid levels and the activity of lipoprotein lipase in epididymal white adipose tissue of rats undergoing exercise training. During the 8-week period of treatment, one group of rats was kept sedentary and the remaining animals were exercise trained either continually (1 h of daily treadmill running) or intermittently (alternate weeks of daily running and inactivity). Exercise training, either continual or intermittent, decreased postprandial serum total and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations, which returned to sedentary levels in the intermittently trained animals following a week of rest. Lipoprotein lipase activity in whole epididymal adipose pad was lower in rats trained continually than in the sedentary group at the end of the treatment. The intermittent training program elicited large fluctuations in both the specific (per milligram of protein) and total (per tissue) activity of lipoprotein lipase in white adipose tissue. During rest periods, enzyme activity rose to levels that were higher than those of sedentary rats, whereas lipase activity was below that of sedentary animals following a week of running. In the last exercise--rest cycle, body weight gain of the intermittently trained rats was nearly abolished during the week of running, but it increased above that of sedentary animals during weeks of rest. The present results suggest that the modulation of lipoprotein lipase activity in white adipose tissue is one of the adaptations that take place to accommodate the fluctuations in the rate of energy deposition that occur in the rat during an intermittent training program.  相似文献

We examined changes in lipid profiles of 40 adult northern elephant seal bulls over the 3-month breeding fast and the 1-month molting fast to investigate impacts of fasting on serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) and lipoproteins. Total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels were initially high (3930 ± 190mgL(-1)and 1610 ± 170mgL(-1), respectively) and decreased significantly over the breeding season. Total cholesterol and LDL declined significantly with adipose tissue reserves (p<0.001), and LDL levels as low as 43 mgL(-1) were measured in seals late in the breeding fast. Less dramatic but similar changes in lipid metabolism were observed across the molting fast. High-density lipoproteins (HDL) remained consistently elevated (>1750 mgL(-1)) suggesting that elephant seals defend HDL concentrations, despite significant depletion of TC and LDL across the breeding fast. Triglyceride levels were significantly higher during the molt, consistent with lower rates of lipid oxidation needed to meet metabolic energy demands during this period. The maintenance of HDL during breeding is consistent with its role in delivering cholesterol from adipose tissue for steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis and potentially mitigates oxidative stress associated with fasting.  相似文献

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of modest weight reduction on serum concentrations of tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), TNF soluble receptors (sTNFRs) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study group consisted of 15 obese women with PCOS (mean age 28.5 +/- 7.7 years). Serum concentrations of TNF-alpha, sTNFRs and IL-6, insulin, FSH, LH, DHEAS, androstendione, total and free testosterone, cortisol, 17OH-progesterone, oestradiol and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), glucose, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides were measured before treatment and after 10% weight loss. All patients were advised to follow a 1000-1200 kcal diet with a limited intake of simple carbohydrate and animal fats and to exercise regularly (30 min, 3 times a week). Body composition was measured by bioimpedance. Serum concentrations of TNF-alpha, sTNFRs and IL-6 were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Plasma insulin, FSH, LH, DHEAS, androstendione, total and free testosterone, cortisol, 17OH-progesterone, oestradiol and SHBG were measured by a commercial RIA. Blood glucose, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides were measured by an enzymatic procedure. RESULTS: We observed no differences in serum concentrations of TNF-alpha, sTNFRs or IL-6 after treatment. CONCLUSIONS: It seems that more than a modest weight reduction is necessary to obtain a decrease in serum concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines and an improvement in ovarian function in obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of DHEA therapy on insulin resistance (FIRI, FG/FI) and serum lipids in men with angiographically verified coronary heart disease (CHD). MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study included thirty men aged 41-60 years (mean age 52+/-0.90 yr) with serum DHEA-S concentration<2000 microg/l, who were randomized into a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial. Subjects completed the 80 days study of 40 days of 150 mg oral DHEA daily or placebo, and next groups were changed after 30 days of wash-out. Fasting early morning blood samples were obtained at baseline and after each treatment to determine serum hormones levels (testosterone, DHEA-S, LH, FSH estradiol and IGF-1) and also metabolic profile (total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglicerides, HDL-cholesterol, insulin, glucose, fasting insulin resistance index--FIRI and FG/FI ratio). RESULTS: Administration of DHEA was associated with 4.5-fold increase in DHEA-S levels. Relative to baseline DHEA administration resulted in a decrease in insulin levels by 40% (p<0.005) and fasting insulin resistance index (FIRI) by 47% (p<0.004). Also total cholesterol levels and LDL-cholesterol levels decreased significantly (from 222.9+/-6.6 mg/dL to 207.4+/-6.6 mg/dL and from 143.9+/-6.9 mg/dL to 130.5+/-6.0 mg/dL respectively; p<0.05). Glucose levels dropped significant below baseline values after DHEA (p<0.001). Estrogen levels significantly increased after DHEA (p<0.05). While changes of serum concentrations of testosterone, LH, FSH, IGF-I, HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides were not statistical significant. Tolerance of the treatment was good and no adverse effects were observed. CONCLUSIONS: DHEA therapy in dose of 150 mg daily during 40 days in men with DHEA levels<2000 microg/l decreased total cholesterol concentration, insulin and glucose levels and fasting insulin resistance index (FIRI). This therapy may be a beneficial against CHD risk factors.  相似文献

The influence was examined of ultra-long-distance running (1000 km race lasting 20 days) on changes in serum lipids. The 110 participants received two types of diet, a conventional Western diet and a wholesome vegetarian diet. Of the 55 finishers the serum concentration of total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and triglycerides decreased significantly during the first 8 days of the run, but rose again towards the end of the race without reaching pre-race levels. The high density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol increased initially but decreased in the final days of the run. The values for apolipoprotein A-I were not correlated with HDL-cholesterol. The free fatty acids and free glycerol showed marked increases (five times the prerace concentration), falling towards the end of the run. Changes in serum lipids showed no correlation with changes in body mass. Similar changes were observed in both dietary groups.  相似文献

The purpose of the current study was to examine the effects of a very low-carbohydrate diet on weight loss and biochemical parameters in overweight women. Twenty women completed an 8-week trial that reduced their daily carbohydrate intake from 232 to 71 g (p < 0.05) and reduced energy by 2,644 kJ/day (8,384 to 5,740 kJ, p < 0.001). The average weight loss was 5.0 kg (p < 0.0001), with a net decrease in body mass index of 1.82 kg/m2, a loss of 3.4% body fat (4 kg, p < 0.0001), and a loss of 1.0 kg lean mass (p < 0.05). There were no significant changes in fasting blood glucose, fasting serum insulin, oral glucose tolerance, free or total insulin-like growth factor-1, or total IGFBP-3. Systolicblood pressure decreased by an average of 9.0 mmHg (1 mmHg = 133.322 Pa) (p < 0.01) and diastolic blood pressure decreased by 7 mmHg (p < 0.05). Total cholesterol decreased 1.2 mM (p < 0.001), all of which was accounted for by a decrease in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (p < 0.001) with no change in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (baseline, 1.17 mM; week 8, 1.22 mM). Total triacylglycerol decreased 0.6 mM (p < 0.01), and the ratio of triacylglycerol/HDL also significantly decreased (baseline, 1.40; week 8, 0.87; p < 0.001). Serum beta-hydroxybutyrate concentrations rose significantly by week 2 and declined thereafter but remained significantly higher than baseline values for the duration of the intervention. Therefore, carbohydrate restriction to 70 g or less with concomitant energy restriction, without changes in protein or fat consumption, promotes weight loss, and improvements in body composition, blood pressure, and blood lipids without compromising glucose tolerance in moderately overweight women.  相似文献

The acute effect of running a 42.2 km marathon race on plasma lipoproteins was investigated in 12 female subjects (aged 21 to 41 years). During the race there was a significant increase (P less than 0.01) in the concentration of total plasma cholesterol. The mean post-race concentration of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was 64.0 +/- 16.2 (SD) mg 100 ml-1, compared with 52.1 +/- 14.0 mg 100 ml-1 before the race, representing a significant increase (P less than 0.002). There was no significant difference in the concentration of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) or low density lipoprotein (LDL) before and after the exercise. The mean concentration of the cholesteryl ester moiety of the HDL increased from 43.7 +/- 12.3 to 54.3 +/- 15.7 mg 100 ml-1 (P less than 0.002), while there was no significant changes in the concentration of the unesterified cholesterol, phospholipid, triacylglycerol or protein moieties of the HDL. The relative proportions of apolipoproteins A-I, A-II, C and E remained unchanged during the exercise. The changes in the concentration of each of the lipoprotein fractions observed during the marathon varied considerably between subjects. The individual increases in the concentration of HDL-C ranged from 4.1 to 28.4 mg 100 ml-1, while both increases and decreases in individual concentrations of VLDL and LDL as well as of total plasma cholesterol were observed. These observations suggest that women undergo greater changes in HDL-C concentration that men during acute exercise, while considerable variation between individuals occurs.  相似文献

The burning of incense is an important source of indoor air pollution in Asia. We assessed the effect of long‐term exposure to incense smoke on the body weight and levels of circulating glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL‐cholesterol, insulin, adiponectin and leptin in Wistar albino rats. Two groups of rats were used. First group (n = 12) was exposed daily to incense smoke for 4 months at the rate of 4 g day?1 in the exposure chamber. Another group of rats (n = 12), was used as non‐exposed control. Blood samples were collected from all animals after 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks of exposure. Serum glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol and HDL‐cholesterol, LDL‐cholesterol insulin, adiponectin and leptin were measured. Our results showed that incense smoke exposure was associated with decreased weight gain and the adverse metabolic changes of increased triglycerides and decreased HDL‐cholesterol concentrations. Exposure to incense was also associated with a transient increase of leptin levels. Taken together, these data suggest that incense smoke influences metabolism adversely in rats. The effect of incense smoke on human health and the underlying mechanisms need to be studied further. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
