Length–weight relationships were estimated for 11 elasmobranch and 51 teleost fish species caught in Izmir Bay, Turkey. Sampling was carried out from June 2005 to May 2006 at monthly intervals using a bottom trawl net. The mean b‐value was calculated as 3.10 (SE = ±0.03) and only three species were out of range between 2.5 and 3.5.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of the three fish species, Pseudobagrus albomarginatus(Rendahl, 1928), Pseudobagrus crassilabris (Günther, 1864), and Rhinogobius davidi(Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant, 1874), were determined respectively. Samples were collected from Qiantang River, China during March 2016–December 2017. The bvalues ranged from 2.525 to 2.917, the coefficient of determination (r2) ranged from 0.96 to 0.97. Prior to this study, the length–weight relationship for P. albomarginatus and R. davidi were unknown to FishBase and the new maximum total lengths for three species were not recorded in FishBase. These results are useful for the fishery research and management in Qiantang River.  相似文献

Length–length and length–weight relationships were studied for four endemic Cyprinid species from the Küçük Menderes River Basin located in the Western Anatolian region of Turkey. Fish were sampled from Tahtal? and Beyda?? reservoirs, Bulgurca, ?a?al and Azmak streams during 2013–2014, using multimesh gillnets in the reservoirs and by electrofishing in the streams. First records of length–weight relationships for Barbus pergamonensis Karaman, 1971, Squalius kosswigi (Karaman, 1972) and Petroleuciscus smyrnaeus (Boulenger, 1896) are reported in addition to three new maximum total lengths for Chondrostoma holmwoodii (Boulenger, 1896), Squalius kosswigi (Karaman, 1972) and Petroleuciscus smyrnaeus (Boulenger, 1896).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of three Chinese endemic fish species (Gymnocypris eckloni eckloni Herzenstein, 1891, Platypharodon extremus Herzenstein, 1891 and Triplophysa pseudoscleroptera (Zhu & Wu, 1981)) were analyzed, collecting from the upper Yellow River (Xunhua and Guide Counties, Qinghai Province). Totally 347 specimens monthly collected by gill nets with 40 mm mesh size and traps with 5 m length from August to October 2014, were used to estimate the relationship parameters. The allometric factor b values ranged from 2.96 in T. pseudoscleroptera to 3.33 in G. eckloni eckloni. The condition factor a values varies between 0.0063 and 0.0175 in three species. Three WLRs of fishes distributed in the upper Yellow River were firstly reported and will fill in some of the empty spaces on endemic species in the Fishbase.  相似文献

Length – weight relationships were estimated for five endemic fish species in the upper Yangtze River: Platysmacheilus nudiventris Luo, Le & Chen, 1977, Xenophysogobio nudicorpa (Huang & Zhang, 1986), Homatula potanini (Günther, 1896), Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872), and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei Kimura, 1934. The a values ranged from 0.0079 to 0.0134, and b values from 2.833 to 3.081. These five endemic species are rare, small and difficult to find and capture. Thus the sampling period was lengthy, from May 2010 to May 2014. A total of 718 specimens were available for analysis, and the length – weight relationships are the first reports for these five endemic fish species.  相似文献

Length–weight (LWR) and length–length (LLR) relationships were estimated for 20 species of fish from the upper Yangtze River, southwest China. Samples were collected using multiple types of gear (2–6 cm mesh trammel nets, 2 cm mesh trap nets, and baited hooks) in Jiangjin and Yibin sections from 2007 to 2009. New maximum lengths for 16 species were recorded for FishBase. LWRs were significant for all species. Standard length–total length equations for converting size measurements for these 20 species are also presented. The results provide primary data for future fish research and conservation.  相似文献

The present study describes the length–weight relationship (LWR), condition factor (K) and size at first maturity of a cobitid loach, Lepidocephalichthys goalparensis Pillai and Yazdani, 1976 of the family Cobitidae in Assam, India. A total of 716 specimens (males = 324, females = 392) ranging from 3.06 to 7.01 cm total length (TL) and 0.17–2.27 g body weight (BW) were analyzed. The overall value of the allometric coefficient b for the LWR indicated negative allometric growth (<3.00) for both males (2.774) and females (2.993). The size at first maturity (TL50) for female L. goalparensis was estimated to be 5.6 cm TL. The condition factor values ranged from 0.56 to 1.35 in mature females. This is the first time that the biological parameters have been studied in this species.  相似文献

Length–weight (LWR) relationships were estimated for nine fish species collected in the Wujiang River located near the city of Chongqing, China. The value of the exponent ‘b’ in the LWR was between 2.594 and 3.528, which shows that the species exhibit an allometric growth pattern. Presented are the relationship between standard length (SL) and weight (W) for 12 fish species in Tibet, China, representing three families and six genera from the Lhasa River. All fish samples were collected by either electro‐shocker (12 V, 200 Hz), fish cages (mouth opening: 40 × 40 cm2, 5 m), or drift gillnets (3 × 1.5 m; mesh‐size: 3 cm to 8 cm) from different areas in the Lhasa River Basin, August and September 2015. Parameter b ranged from 2.88 to 3.29, and all correlation coefficient (r2) values were higher than 0.95. Fish were sampled by various types of fishing gear (mesh size: 1–12 cm) and baited hooks. Fish assemblages were randomly collected in March 2015 from the upper reaches of the Beijiang River, Shaoguan, China. Fish were sampled on 10 occasions using gill nets (mesh size: 3 cm) and the length–weight relationships (LWRs; W = a × Lb) of three native species recorded: Xenocypris davidi, Xenocypris macrolepis and Culter recurviceps. The exponent b varied from 2.803 to 3.096 and r2 values ranged 0.985–0.992. This is the first report on the LWRs of fish from this area, with valuable results for the research, management and conservation of fishery resources in the upper reaches of the Beijiang River.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for six endemic fish species [Glyptothorax fokiensis (Rendahl, 1925), Lepturichthys fimbriata (Günther, 1888), Liobagrus marginatus (Günther, 1892), Percocypris pingi (Tchang, 1930), Pseudobagrus pratti (Günther, 1892) and Sinibotia superciliaris (Günther, 1892)] from the Pan Zhihua reach of the Jinsha River, which is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, southwest China. Samples were obtained between May 2004 and April 2012 using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. For each species, the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Values of b were between 2.306 for P. pratti and 2.934 for P. pingi, and r2 values ranged from 0.952 for G. fokiensis to 0.995 for P. pingi. Prior to this study, the LWRs for three of these endemic species were unknown.  相似文献

This work describes the length–weight relationship (LWR) of 37 fish species from the Taquari River, one of the tributaries of the Jurumirim Reservoir in the high Paranapanema Basin, São Paulo, Brazil. Information was not yet available in FishBase on LWRs of 22 of the fish species and maximum weights (Wt) of 24 of the fish species.
