This is an account of 490 distribution maps of 355 species and genera of nonlichenized Ascomycetes, Deuteromycetes, and Endomycetes, published between 1911 and 1972. Areas covered by the maps, mapping method, author, and reference are indicated for each taxon. For scope of this bibliography, restrictions with regard to completeness, and nomenclatural treatment see part I (Feddes Repert., 82, 589 to 616, 1971). The genus Calotropis of the tribe Asclepiadeae of Asclepiadaceae subfamily Ascle-piadoideae is revised throughout its Tange in tropical and subtropical Africa and Asia. The three species recognized are keyed out, illustrated and described with appropriate bibliography, synonymy, notes on ecology, distribution and uses. Distribution maps for the species are provided. The chromosome morphology of at least 93 species of carnivores has now been investigated. This information has been summarized and karyotypes of a number of previously unstudied species are presented. Karyotype evolution and interpretation, and the value of cytogenetic information in the study of taxonomy and phylogeny with respect to an understanding of speciation and hybridization are discussed. House dust mites have been reported to be the most important allergen in human dwellings. Several articles had already shown the presence of different mite species at homes in Brazil, being Pyroglyphidae, Glycyphagidae and Cheyletidae the most important families found. The number of angiosperm species for which nuclear DNA amount estimates have been made has nearly trebled since the last collected lists of such values were published, and therefore, publication of a more comprehensive list is over due. This paper lists absolute nuclear DNA amounts for 753 angiosperm species. The dats were assembled primarily for reference purposes, and so the species are listed in alphabetical order, as this was felt to be more helpful to cyto- and biochemists whom, it is anticipated, will be among its major users. The paper also reviews aspects of the history, nomenclature, methods, accuracy and problems of nuclear DNA estimation in angiosperms. No attempt is made to reconsider those aspects of nuclear DNA estimation which have been fully revised previously, although the bibliography of such aspects is given. Instead, the paper is intended as a source of basic information regarding the terminology, practice and limitations of nuclear DNA estimation, especially by Feulgen microdensitometry, as currently practiced.  相似文献

A full bibliography and the known distributional range, illustrated by maps, are given for Atractomorpha himalayica Bolivar, A. crenulata (Fabricius), A. rhodoptera Karsch, A. angusta Karsch, A. sinensis Bolivar, A. lata (Motschoulsky) (= A. bedeli Bolivar), A. psittacina (Haan) and A. burri Bolivar. A. nipponica Steinmann is newly synonymized with the last. Chromosome studies in the superfamily Bovoidea   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The chromosome morphology of about 50 species of Bovoidea has now been investigated. Although the diploid number varies from 30 to 60 among these species, the fundamental number (NF) varies only (with but three exceptions) from 58 to 62. This indicates an almost exclusive use of the Robertsonian fusion mechanism of karyotype evolution in this group of species which represent 30 different genera. All known cytogenetic information on the Bovoidea has been summarized and a complete bibliography is presented for each species. Karyotypes and data on a number of previously unstudied species are presented.  相似文献

This paper summarises the current status of comparative mapping in farm animals. For most of the major farm animal species, a wide range of genomic tools are now available to create high-resolution genetic and physical maps of the genome. For many farm animals, the use of radiation hybrid panels and sequence data from expressed sequence tag (EST) projects has accelerated the development of high-resolution comparative maps, with human--the model species for farm animals. These tools and comparative maps are being used to map and identify the genes at the loci for simple and complex traits. The development of detailed physical maps in farm animals based on radiation hybrid panels and bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) contigs provides a direct link between the 'information-poor' maps of farm animals and the 'information-rich' genomes of human and other model organisms.  相似文献

Effective comparative mapping inference utilizing developing gene maps of animal species requires the inclusion of anchored reference loci that are homologous to genes mapped in the more "gene-dense" mouse and human maps. Nominated anchor loci, termed comparative anchor tagged sequences (CATS), have been ordered in the mouse linkage map, but due to the dearth of common polymorphisms among human coding genes have not been well represented in human linkage maps. We present here an ordered framework map of 314 comparative anchor markers in humans based on mapping analysis in the Genebridge 4 panel of radiation hybrid cell lines, plus empirically optimized CATS PCR primers which detect these markers. The ordering of these homologous gene markers in human and mouse maps provides a framework for comparative gene mapping of representative mammalian species.  相似文献

The developments of molecular marker-based genetic linkage maps are now routine. Physical maps based on contigs of large insert genomic clones have been established in several plant species. However, integration of genetic, physical, and cytological maps is still a challenge for most plant species. Here we present an integrated map of rice (Oryza sativa L.) chromosome 5, developed by fluorescence in situ hybridization mapping of 18 bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones or PI-derived artificial chromosome (PAC) clones on meiotic pachytene chromosomes. Each BAC/PAC clone was anchored by a restriction fragment length polymorphism marker mapped to the rice genetic linkage map. This molecular cytogenetic map shows the genetic recombination and sequence information of a physical map, correlated to the cytological features of rice chromosome 5. Detailed comparisons of the distances between markers on genetic, cytological, and physical maps, revealed the distributions of recombination events and molecular organization of the chromosomal features of rice chromosome 5 at the pachytene stage. Discordance of distances between the markers was found among the different maps. Our results revealed that neither the recombination events nor the degree of chromatin condensation were evenly distributed along the entire length of chromosome 5. Detailed comparisons of the correlative positions of markers on the genetic, cytological, and physical maps of rice chromosome 5 provide insight into the molecular architecture of rice chromosome 5, in relation to its cytological features and recombination events on the genetic map. The prospective applications of such an integrated cytogenetic map are discussed.  相似文献

Satellites from two related species of the Apodemus genus, A. sylvaticus and A. flavicollis, have been analysed with restriction enzymes Taq I, Alu I and Hind III. The restriction maps are closely conserved between species and show a novel feature of two differing internal periodicities within a 375 base pair repeating unit detected by two different restriction enzymes. This places constraints on the introduction of the observed restriction sites according to current models such as unequal crossing-over. The implications of such a conserved sequence and its presence in other species are discussed.  相似文献

We have adapted the Location Database (LDB) map-integration strategy of Morton et al. [Ann Hum Genet 56:223–232] (1992) as above to create an integrated map for each of several species for which fully annotated genome sequences are not yet available (sheep, cattle, pig, wallaby), using all types of partial maps for that species, including cytogenetic, linkage, somatic-cell hybrid, and radiation hybrid maps. An integrated map provides not only predictions of the kilobase location of every locus, but also predicts locations (in cM) and cytogenetic band locations for every locus. In this way a comprehensive linkage map and a comprehensive cytogenetic map are created, including all loci, irrespective of whether they have ever been linkage mapped or physically mapped, respectively. High-resolution physical maps from annotated sequenced species have also been placed alongside the integrated maps. This has created a powerful tool for comparative genomics. The LDB map-integration strategy has been extended to make use of zoo-FISH comparative information. It has also been extended to enable the creation of a “virtual” map for each species not yet sequenced by using mapping data from fully sequenced species. All of the partial maps, together with the integrated map, for each species have been placed in a database called Comparative Location Database (CompLDB), which is available for querying, browsing, or download in tabular form at . Because survey-based species lists for fine-scale areas are generally lacking, ecologists have been using species lists derived from modeled range maps in macroecological studies. Here I evaluate whether it is appropriate to use species lists derived from modeled range maps in macroecological studies. I compared species lists derived from about 90,000 range maps in the Botanical Information and Ecology Network (BIEN) for over 180 geographic regions (12 broad regions covering the whole of the New World; 172 smaller regions, i.e. Taxonomic Databases Working Group units) with those representing complete or nearly complete species lists obtained from the literature for the regions. I determined the completeness of native species composition and proportion of false presences and exotic (non-native) species in species lists derived from range maps in BIEN. I determined whether errors in species lists derived from modeled range maps affect macroecological inferences by comparing the relationships of α- and β-diversity with geographic and climatic variables between different datasets (i.e. species lists derived from range maps versus complete or nearly complete species lists derived from the literature). The completeness for native species lists derived from range maps was 60–74%, depending on spatial scale. On average, 65% of the species in a species list derived from BIEN for a geographic area are false presences or non-native species to the area. The relationships of α- and β-diversity derived from the BIEN dataset with geographic and climatic variables differ significantly from those derived from complete species lists. This study shows that the results of a macroecological study based on species lists derived from modeled range maps may be substantially incorrect due to high percentages of missing native species, and high numbers of non-native species and false presences. Thus, it may not be appropriate to use species lists derived from modeled range maps in the macroecological studies that require complete or nearly complete species lists.  相似文献

用电镜以及Southern杂交技术测得从我国分离的四模膜虫T.S1株的rDNA(rRNA基因)分子为20kb(相当于12.5×10~6道尔顿)的回文二聚体结构。制定了该rDNA分子的四种限制性内切酶图谱,并与已知的四膜虫10个物种的相应的限制酶图谱作了比较分析,发现T.S1株与其中9个物种的图谱显著地不同,但是与T.australis的rDNA的7种限制酶图谱相比较,竟有6种是一致的。两者的BglI图虽有差别,但也只是一个酶切位点之差。  相似文献

This annotated bibliography is provided in order to assess the achievements and gaps in the literature on vegetative identification of woody plants in the tropics. The bibliography includes 258 references divided into general references (48), pantropical and multi‐continental keys (4), Africa (46), Asia (53), Australia and New Guinea (21), and the Neotropics (86). Vegetative keys are not easy shortcuts to the identification of woody tropical plants to species. Identification of sterile material requires as much, if not more, training as that required for using keys that emphasize floral and fruit characters. Nevertheless, the literature surveyed in this bibliography may be helpful to biologists seeking references for the geographic region in which they work, models for the construction of vegetative keys and field guides, and/or the types of characters that should be observed in the field.  相似文献

William Mitten (1819–1906) described 373 species of Hepaticae in 25 publications between 1851 and 1889. Most of Mitten's types are at NY, but original material of some species may be found at BM, FH, and G. This paper provides an index to the species and genera described by Mitten and a bibliography of papers in which his new hepatics were described.
