分别采用不同基质配比(即泥炭和珍珠岩体积比分别为1:0、2:1和3:1)、不同促侧根措施(包括主根截短和200 mg·L-1 IBA溶液灌根单一措施以及上述2种单一措施的复合措施)和不同栽培容器(包括穴盘、营养钵和无纺布育苗袋)对凤丹( Paeonia ostii T. Hong et J. X. Zhang)容器苗进行培育,分析了容器苗的形态指标、单株质量、根冠比及部分生理指标的差异,并在此基础上筛选出适宜凤丹容器苗培育的栽培措施。分析结果表明:在泥炭-珍珠岩(体积比3:1)混合基质中,凤丹容器苗的单株侧根数、单株地下部鲜质量和干质量、根冠比以及叶片的总叶绿素含量、可溶性糖含量和含水量均显著高于其他基质。采取主根截短单一措施或复合措施后,容器苗的单株叶面积、单株侧根数、单株地下部鲜质量和干质量、根冠比及叶片含水量均显著高于对照(不做任何处理)和采取200 mg·L-1 IBA溶液灌根单一措施的容器苗,其中,采取复合措施的容器苗大部分指标最高。在无纺布育苗袋和营养钵中栽培的容器苗的株高、根颈直径、单株侧根数以及叶片的总叶绿素含量、可溶性糖含量和含水量显著高于在穴盘中栽培的容器苗;其中,在无纺布育苗袋中栽培的容器苗的单株侧根数以及叶片的总叶绿素含量和含水量均最高,且这3个指标显著高于在营养钵中栽培的容器苗。研究结果显示:不同栽培措施对凤丹容器苗的生长及生理均有一定影响,总体上看,对根系的单株侧根数、主根长、地下部质量和根冠比以及叶片的叶面积、总叶绿素含量、可溶性糖含量和含水量的影响均较大。根据实验结果,初步筛选出适宜凤丹容器苗培育的栽培措施,即用无纺布育苗袋,以泥炭-珍珠岩(体积比3:1)混合基质为栽培基质,实施主根截短和200 mg·L-1 IBA溶液灌根复合措施。  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted with a subtropical calanoid, Diaptomus dorsalis Marsh 1907, to determine the influence of food concentration and the volume of medium per copepod (one copepod in each of several containers of different volumes) on post-embryonic development rates, adult body size, clutch size, survivorship and sex ratio. Low concentrations of food (Chlamydomonas reinhardti) decreased development rates, body size, clutch size and survivorship; the sex ratio did not vary significantly from 1:1. Small container volumes had the same effects as low food concentrations, except that naupliar development time was not affected and survivorship showed greater variability. Because the copepod parameters exhibited maximum responses when food was abundant, even in the smallest container volume, it was concluded that container volume did not directly influence these parameters but exerted its effect through food availability.Larger life history stages were affected more than smaller life history stages by low food levels. In part, this was attributed to a laboratory artifact in which depletion of food by larger animals was greater than by smaller animals and, in part, to a real effect of low food concentration. A possible explanation of this real effect came from comparisons of these results to data from D. dorsalis fed phytoplankton from a Florida lake. The comparisons suggested that nauplii may be more efficient feeders on, or utilizers of, small food items such as Chlamydomonas.  相似文献

I didactically compared the breast as a glandular cone with an envelope of skin and subcutaneous tissue. The aesthetic alterations of the breast are classified in four groups related to form, to volume, to grams, and to ptosis in centimeters. An imaginary plane that passes by the mammary sulcus (plane A) will determine the area of the breast that is ptotic. The projection of this plane in the anterior part of the breast is called point A. The distance between point A and the nipple will give in centimeters the amount of ptosis. I use this distance to draw geometrically in the breast the amount of excess of skin to be removed to correct the ptosis. In group I, the volume is normal and part of the mammary gland is under plane A. In this type of breast, the skin is resected, and since there is no excess of breast tissue, the breast that is under plane A is used as an inferior pedicle flap to give a better volume to the new breast. In group II, the base of the breast is large, the height is normal, and the volume is increased by the enlargement of the base. In this type of breast, the excess of breast under plane A and a wedge under the nipple are resected to reach the normal volume at the end of the surgery. In group III, the base is normal and the volume of the breast is increased by the height. For treatment, I resect the excess of breast under plane A as well as a segment at the base to reduce its height. In group IV, the volume of the breast is increased by the size of the base and the height of the cone, and I treat by resection of the excess of tissue under the ptotic area, a wedge under the areola, and a transversal segment in the base to reduce all the dimensions. In the final result of this technique in the majority of patients I will obtain a short scar. This technique was used in 1083 patients from January of 1979 to May of 1988.  相似文献

Cupua?u (Theobroma grandiflorum) is an Amazonian tropical fruit with a great economic potential. Pasteurization, by a hot-filling technique, was suggested for the preservation of this fruit pulp at room temperature. The process was implemented with local communities in Brazil. The process was modeled, and a computer program was written in Turbo Pascal. The relative importance among the pasteurization process variables (initial product temperature, heating rate, holding temperature and time, container volume and shape, cooling medium type and temperature) on the microbial target and quality was investigated, by performing simulations according to a screening factorial design. Afterward, simulations of the different processing conditions were carried out. The holding temperature (T(F)) and time (t(hold)) affected pasteurization value (P), and the container volume (V) influenced largely the quality parameters. The process was optimized for retail (1 L) and industrial (100 L) size containers, by maximizing volume average quality in terms of color lightness and sensory "fresh notes" and minimizing volume average total color difference and sensory "cooked notes". Equivalent processes were designed and simulated (P(91)( degrees )(C) = 4.6 min on Alicyclobacillus acidoterrestris spores) and final quality (color, flavor, and aroma attributes) was evaluated. Color was slightly affected by the pasteurization processes, and few differences were observed between the six equivalent treatments designed (T(F) between 80 and 97 degrees C). T(F) >/= 91 degrees C minimized "cooked notes" and maximized "fresh notes" of cupua?u pulp aroma and flavor for 1 L container. Concerning the 100 L size, the "cooked notes" development can be minimized with T(F) >/= 91 degrees C, but overall the quality was greatly degraded as a result of the long cooling times. A more efficient method to speed up the cooling phase was recommended, especially for the industrial size of containers.  相似文献

A general formula is derived for the relation between the pair correlation function and the histogram of interparticle distances in small nonuniform systems. The formula is applied to random packings of spheres in a spherical container, which are generated by a Monte Carlo method. When measured properly, the resultant correlation functions are very similar to ones in bulk systems with the same volume fraction of particles. In contrast, the density is very nonuniform as a function of distance from the center of the container. The variation is an order of magnitude for the number density of particle centers, or severalfold for the occupied volume fraction. It is described how these results can be used to analyze the forces that determine protein structure.  相似文献

Breast volume measurement of 248 women using biostereometric analysis   总被引:14,自引:0,他引:14  
A study of volumes of the right and left breasts of 248 subjects was undertaken using biostereometric analysis. This measurement technique uses close-range stereophotogrammetry to characterize the shape of the breast and is noncontact, noninvasive, accurate, and rapid with respect to the subject involvement time. Volumes and volumetric differences between breast pairs were compared, using chi-square tests, with handedness, perception of breast size by each subject, age, and menstrual status. No significant relationship was found between the handedness of the subject and the larger breast volume. Several groups of subjects based on age and menstrual status were accurate in their perception of breast size difference. Analysis did not confirm the generally accepted clinical impression of left breast volume dominance. Although a size difference in breast pairs was documented, neither breast predominated.  相似文献

The aims of this study were to (a) determine how the quantification of blood vessels in histological sections (vascularity) is affected by the methodology used and (b) assess the value of vascularity as an index of angiogenesis by comparing tumour and normal breast tissue. Archival specimens of breast, lung and oral carcinoma, oral dysplasia and normal breast tissue were used to test the effects of the following experimental variables on vascularity: pretreatment of the sections (enzymatic digestion, heating), endothelial markers (von Willebrand factor and CD31 antibodies), method of quantification (highest microvascular density, average microvascular density and microvascular volume) and interobserver variations. All the variables examined significantly affected the estimated vascularity; this depended on the type of tissue and method used. The pretreatment of the sections before staining was the most important variable, altering the vascularity ranking of the tumours. Vascularity in breast tumours was similar to that of the normal breast intralobular stroma, suggesting that an area of high microvascular density in the tumour does not necessarily represent tumour-induced angiogenesis. Contradictory results have been published regarding the value of vascularity as a tumour prognostic factor. Our results suggest that statistically significant differences in vascularity values are most likely to arise from failure to optimize the staining protocol and from the method used to assess vascularity. © 1998 Chapman & Hall  相似文献

对 1 0年生杉木半同胞家系的生长和木材品质性状的遗传变异的研究表明 ,树高、胸径和材积、管胞长度、管胞宽度在家系间存在显著差异 ,木材基本密度和管胞长宽比在家系间差异不显著。树高、胸径、材积、木材基本密度、管胞长度、管胞宽度和管胞长宽比的家系遗传力分别为 0 .697、0 .841、0 .836、0 .31 7、0 .462、0 471和 0 .2 49,单株遗传力分别为 0 .42 5、0 .671、0 .71 6、0 .2 49、0 .437、0 l45、0 .1 81。木材基本密度与树高、胸径、材积、管胞长度、管胞宽度和管胞长宽比都呈负相关 ,只有基本密度与管胞长度的负相关达到显著水平。选出的 4个优良家系 ,树高、胸径、材积、基本密度、管胞长度、管胞宽度和管胞长宽比的遗传增益分别为 3 96%、4.31 %、1 2 .69%、0 .1 2 %、 0 .65 %、 0 .69%和 0 0 3%。  相似文献

It is suggested that a large breast size among women may predict type 2 diabetes risk independent of BMI and waist circumference (WC). The purpose of this study was to determine the independent associations of breast volume with cardiometabolic risk factors and regional fat distribution. A total of 92 overweight or obese premenopausal women (age = 39.9 ± 6.8 years) underwent full‐body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the assessment of breast volume, visceral adipose tissue (VAT), abdominal and lower‐body subcutaneous AT (SAT), and intermuscular AT (IMAT), a 2‐h oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), and fasting phlebotomy for assessment of triglyceride, total, high‐density lipoprotein–, and low‐density lipoprotein–cholesterol levels. Breast volume was not associated with any of the cardiometabolic risk factors assessed (P > 0.05). However, VAT was consistently associated with a number of cardiometabolic risk factors (OGTT glucose, OGTT insulin, and triglyceride levels) after controlling for age, BMI, WC, breast volume, and the other AT depots. In univariate models, breast volume was positively associated with VAT, IMAT, and abdominal and lower‐body SAT (P < 0.05). After controlling for age, BMI, and WC level, breast volume remained positively associated with VAT and IMAT (P < 0.05), such that women with the highest breast volume had ~1.1 and 1.3 kg more VAT and IMAT, respectively, but no more abdominal or lower‐body SAT, by comparison to women with the smallest breast volume. Thus, the previously documented association between breast size and type 2 diabetes risk may be in part explained by excess VAT and/or IMAT deposition.  相似文献

Peritoneal exudate was collected by introducing a lavage medium (sterile saline or an equivalent) via syringe and needle into the peritoneal cavity of the anesthetized animal. The lavage medium was recovered by allowing it to flow through the needle into a sterile container. This method guards against contamination. Objectives

To objectively evaluate automatic volumetric breast density assessment in Full-Field Digital Mammograms (FFDM) using measurements obtained from breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Material and Methods

A commercially available method for volumetric breast density estimation on FFDM is evaluated by comparing volume estimates obtained from 186 FFDM exams including mediolateral oblique (MLO) and cranial-caudal (CC) views to objective reference standard measurements obtained from MRI.

Results

Volumetric measurements obtained from FFDM show high correlation with MRI data. Pearson’s correlation coefficients of 0.93, 0.97 and 0.85 were obtained for volumetric breast density, breast volume and fibroglandular tissue volume, respectively.

Conclusions

Accurate volumetric breast density assessment is feasible in Full-Field Digital Mammograms and has potential to be used in objective breast cancer risk models and personalized screening.  相似文献

The tuberous breast deformity is a rare entity affecting young women bilaterally or unilaterally. The deformity is characterized by a constricting ring at the base of the breast, which leads to deficient horizontal and vertical development of the breast with or without herniation of the breast parenchyma toward the nipple-areola complex and areola enlargement. Several methods have been put forward to correct the deformity, but most of these fail to address the issue of the constricting ring and subsequently yield results that are not aesthetically satisfactory. A new approach to the treatment of the deformity is presented, which consists of a periareolar approach and rearrangement of the inferior part of the breast parenchyma by division of the constricting ring, thus creating two breast pillars. These pillars are allowed to redrape, and in cases of volume deficiency, a silicone breast implant is placed in a subglandular pocket. The procedure is completed by a donut-type excision to address the size of the nipple-areola complex. The technique has used on 11 patients (21 breasts) with excellent aesthetic results.  相似文献

Prairie restoration is not complete without the establishment of both grasses and forbs. However, if desirable forbs and grasses are seeded simultaneously, control of broadleaf weeds is problematic. If possible, a two‐step process of introducing forbs after establishing grasses would allow use of broadleaf‐specific herbicides at the critical early stages of grass growth. We conducted experiments to investigate methods for introducing forbs into previously restored native perennial grasslands on rural roadsides in the Sacramento Valley of California. In one experiment, we studied the effects of background vegetation (established perennial grasses or tilled ground) on seven native forb species planted from seed. In a second experiment, we evaluated the effects of background vegetation (existing perennial grasses or tilled ground) and container size (36 ml or 105 ml) with excavation technique (excavation by core removal [core] or by creating an impression [dibble]) on the growth of transplants of the native perennial forbs Asclepias fascicularis and Sisyrinchium bellum. The presence of established perennial grasses reduced the growth of seeded forbs, but did not affect transplants, indicating the vulnerability of seedling forbs to interference. When compared to control plots that had been tilled in the autumn, weed canopy cover was significantly lower in the presence of perennial grasses if seeded with forbs, but not in the presence of perennial grasses alone. Both transplanted species grew better in the large container/core treatment than the small container/dibble treatment; however, existing grasses eliminated these positive effects. Asclepias fascicularis performed better when grown in large containers than in small containers, but its growth was not affected by excavation method; S. bellum performed better when planted with the core method than the dibble method of excavation, but container size made no difference. We attribute differences in the responses of the species to interactions between phenological differences and expansive clay soils that naturally de‐compact upon drying.  相似文献

The life of game birds (pheasants) in nature is coupled with a number of difficulties in all seasons of the year. This refers to finding food, breeding, laying eggs, raising the young, fleeing from their natural enemies and lack of protection from unfavorable climatic conditions. The pheasants that live in captivity--aviaries for pheasants--do not have such difficulties--they are fed regularly by quality feed for pheasants, they are protected from bad weather and natural enemies. Our research was aimed at determining the biological value of meat of pheasants grown in the two different settings--in captivity and in nature. The highest weight achieved wild pheasant males (1232.4 +/- 147.36 g). The differences between tested pheasant groups were statistically very high significant (P < 0.001). The differences between groups related to breast weight and tights with drumsticks weight were statistically very high significant (P < 0.001). Between breast parts (%) and legs parts (%) were notified very high (P < 0.001) i.e. high (P = 0.002) differences. The highest weight breast muscles and tights with drumsticks had wild pheasants (282.6 +/- 63.53 g i.e. 206.2 +/- 37.88g). Wilde pheasants had lower part (%) and lighter (g) skin with subcutaneous fatty tissue on breasts. Female pheasants cultivated on both ways had higher skin part (%) and subcutaneous fatty tissue in tights with drumsticks. Related to chemical composition of breast muscles is established statistically significant differences (P < 0.001 i.s. P = 0.040)) in part of Ca (%) and P (%). In wild pheasant tights with drumsticks muscles established statistically very significant (P < 0.001) higher part of moisture, protein and Ca, i.e. statistically very high significant (P < 0.001) lower part of fat and energetic value. Research results indicate that the quality of meat of pheasants grown in nature has higher biological value than the meat of pheasants kept in aviaries, which means it has advantages in human nutrition.  相似文献

采用随机区组设计了青刺果不同播种时间和不同播种方法试验,进行青刺果不同育苗方式对比研究。结果表明:青刺果的育苗宜随采随播,其种子出苗率达72.4%,随着种子储藏时间的后移,出苗率显著下降,干藏与沙藏对种子出苗率的影响差异不明显;裸根苗和容器苗苗木生长质量上无明显差别,随采随播到当年雨季造林时(9月)苗木嫩小,不宜上山造林,但容器苗此时可造林。  相似文献

If recA bacteria are exposed to appropriate doses of gamma-irradiation, nondividing cells which can sustain the multiplication of "small" plasmids are produced. The gamma-irradiation technique has a number of advantages over other methods for preparing pure plasmid DNA: (1) there is little, if any, contamination of DNA preparations by chromosomal DNA owing to extensive degradation of the irradiated DNA by endogenous nucleases, (2) there is no need to introduce a uvr mutation to the host bacteria (there is when UV is used to inactivate the chromosome), (3) the method is extremely simple to work with since operations are not limited by considerations of volume and cell density, and (4) there is no need to transfer material from container to container. Yields of plasmid DNA obtained by the gamma-irradiation technique compare favorably with those obtained by other methods.  相似文献

Primary breast augmentation patients have widely varying characteristics of their breast envelope, parenchyma, and adjacent tissues. When preoperative breast implant selection does not specifically address critical soft-tissue parameters individual to each patient, risks of complications increase. Complications that occur from failure to reconcile a patient's wishes for breast size with her individual tissue characteristics include skin stretch and thinning, ptosis, atrophy of parenchyma, implant edge or shell visibility, implant edge or shell palpability, visible traction rippling, "bottoming" deformities, and lateral implant displacement with widening of the intermammary distance. Previous dimensional systems address implant parenchyma base width relative to implant base width, but no published system adequately addresses or attempts to quantitate the third dimension, tissue stretch, that is critical to estimate amount of fill necessary in a wide range of breast and tissue types. This system addresses the tissue characteristics (T) of the envelope (E), the parenchyma (P), and the implant (I), and the dynamics (D) of implant and filler distribution that affect soft tissues. The acronym TEPID summarizes the key factors that determine aesthetic results and occurrence of problems and reoperations following breast augmentation. This simple, efficient, and clinically practical system focuses on only three tissue measurements to estimate implant volume required to fill each patient's existing breast envelope, on the basis of her individual tissue characteristics: base width of the parenchyma, anterior pull skin stretch, and areola- and/or nipple-to-inframammary-fold distance measured under maximal stretch. The surgeon then adjusts initial volume to address differences in degree of skin stretch (anterior pull skin stretch) and contribution of the patient's existing parenchyma to stretched envelope fill, and to address differences in implant dimensions and filler distribution dynamics. To base decisions of implant pocket location on quantifiable soft-tissue coverage thickness, the system measures soft-tissue pinch thickness of the upper pole and at the inframammary fold. Surgeon time required to measure, estimate, and make preoperative implant selection decisions is less than 5 minutes. This system evolved from compiling and reviewing measurements and results from 330 primary breast augmentations from 1996 to 1999, including round and anatomic implant types with smooth shells and two different textured shells. The TEPID system was then used concurrently with the previous dimensional system for patient tissue evaluation and preoperative implant selection in 627 consecutive primary augmentation cases over a 3-year period from January of 1998 to January of 2001. Implant selection that did not comply with the parameters of the system was necessary in only eight cases. The TEPID system is a simple, efficient, and clinically practical method that allows surgeons to base implant selection on clinically quantifiable, individual patient tissue characteristics.  相似文献

The epidemiology of breast cancer is reviewed with particular emphasis on its etiology. A number of studies suggest that differences in breast cancer incidence are associated with differences in marital status, number of pregnancies, age at menarche, age at menopause, height and weight, socioeconomic status, geographic location and residence. However, in no case is the evidence adequate to establish a “cause and effect” relationship. The genetic component of these associations may be of primary importance, while other conditions such as marital status are probably indirect reflections of the operation of more fundamental factors.There is a general consensus that endocrine factors play an important part in mammary cancer occurrence. At present, the association between breast cancer and the presence of the virus-like (type B) particles in human milk is not established.  相似文献

Trees are usually grown in containers in the nursery until they reach a certain size, whereupon they are transplanted to a permanent location. Infrastructure development has often led to the removal of large trees. To maintain lush foliage and trees of a size that benefit urban ecology, trees can be grown in containers. Containerized trees can be moved from one location to another, and this relocation does not require root pruning or crown-size reduction. The drawback to having trees in containers is the small and confined volume of the container, which limits tree root development and thus affects containerized tree stability. The objective of this study was to understand the failure mechanisms for and the effect of the root dimensions on the stability of containerized trees. Therefore, small-scale stability model tests were conducted which were verified using numerical and analytical models. The results identified two failure modes that were likely to occur: tree overturning and container overturning. The mode of failure was dependent on the root dimensions. When the trees had extended their roots deep into the container, the whole container would overturn in the event of failure due to increased root confinement and shear resistance of the soil. On the other hand, the main failure mechanism when there was shallow root development was the uplifting of the tree from the container while the container remained upright. The results from numerical and analytical models were consistent with those obtained during the small-scale model stability tests.  相似文献
