In recent years, several strains capable of degrading 1,4-dioxane have been isolated from the genera Pseudonocardia and Rhodococcus. This study was conducted to evaluate the 1,4-dioxane degradation potential of phylogenetically diverse strains in these genera. The abilities to degrade 1,4-dioxane as a sole carbon and energy source and co-metabolically with tetrahydrofuran (THF) were evaluated for 13 Pseudonocardia and 12 Rhodococcus species. Pseudonocardia dioxanivorans JCM 13855T, which is a 1,4-dioxane degrading bacterium also known as P. dioxanivorans CB1190, and Rhodococcus aetherivorans JCM 14343T could degrade 1,4-dioxane as the sole carbon and energy source. In addition to these two strains, ten Pseudonocardia strains could degrade THF, but no Rhodococcus strains could degrade THF. Of the ten Pseudonocardia strains, Pseudonocardia acacia JCM 16707T and Pseudonocardia asaccharolytica JCM 10410T degraded 1,4-dioxane co-metabolically with THF. These results indicated that 1,4-dioxane degradation potential, including degradation for growth and by co-metabolism with THF, is possessed by selected strains of Pseudonocardia and Rhodococcus, although THF degradation potential appeared to be widely distributed in Pseudonocardia. Analysis of soluble di-iron monooxygenase (SDIMO) α-subunit genes in THF and/or 1,4-dioxane degrading strains revealed that not only THF and 1,4-dioxane monooxygenases but also propane monooxygenase-like SDIMOs can be involved in 1,4-dioxane degradation.  相似文献

The process of naphthalene degradation by indigenous, introduced, and transconjugant strains was studied in laboratory soil microcosms. Conjugation transfer of catabolic plasmids was demonstrated in naphthalene-contaminated soil. Both indigenous microorganisms and an introduced laboratory strain BS394 (pNF142::TnMod-OTc) served as donors of these plasmids. The indigenous bacterial degraders of naphthalene isolated from soil were identified as Pseudomonas putida and Pseudomonas fluorescens. The frequency of plasmid transfer in soil was 10?5–10?4 per donor cell. The activity of the key enzymes of naphthalene biodegradation in indigenous and transconjugant strains was studied. Transconjugant strains harboring indigenous catabolic plasmids possessed high salicylate hydroxylase and low catechol-2,3-dioxygenase activities, in contrast to indigenous degraders, which had a high level of catechol-2,3-dioxygenase activity and a low level of salicylate hydroxylase. Naphthalene degradation in batch culture in liquid mineral medium was shown to accelerate due to cooperation of the indigenous naphthalene degrader P. fluorescens AP1 and the transconjugant strain P. putida KT2442 harboring the indigenous catabolic plasmid pAP35. The role of conjugative transfer of naphthalene biodegradation plasmids in acceleration of naphthalene degradation was demonstrated in laboratory soil microcosms.  相似文献

Efficiency of Enterobacter cloacae KU923381 isolated from petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil was evaluated in batch culture and bioreactor mode. The isolate were screened for biofilm formation using qualitative and quantitative assays. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to study the effect of pH, temperature, glucose concentration, and sodium chloride on diesel degradation. The predicted values for diesel oil degradation efficiency by the statistical designs are in a close agreement with experimental data (R 2 = 99.66%). Degradation efficiency is increased by 36.78% at pH = 7, temperature = 35°C, glucose = 5%, and sodium chloride concentration = 5%. Under the optimized conditions, the experiments were performed for diesel oil degradation by gas chromatographic mass spectrometric analysis (GC-MS). GC-MS analysis confirmed that E. cloacae had highly degrade hexadecane, heptadecane, tridecane, and docosane by 99.71%, 99.23%, 99.66%, and 98.34% respectively. This study shows that rapid bioremoval of hydrocarbons in diesel oil is acheived by E. cloacae with abet of biofilm formation. The potential use of the biofilms for preparing trickling filters (gravel particles) for the degradation of hydrocarbons from petroleum wastes before their disposal in the open environment is highly suggested. This is the first successful attempt for artificially establishing petroleum hydrocarbon degrading bacterial biofilm on solid substrates in bioreactor.  相似文献

The biodegradation of furfuryl alcohol (FA) in shake flask experiments using a pure culture of Pseudomonas putida (MTCC 1194) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MTCC 1034) was studied at 30 °C and pH 7.0. Experiments were performed at different FA concentrations ranging from 50 to 500 mg/l. Before carrying out the biodegradation studies, the bacterial strains were acclimatized to the concentration of 500 mg/l of FA by gradually raising 100 mg/l of FA in each step. The well acclimatized culture of P. putida and P. aeruginosa degraded about 80 and 66% of 50 mg/l FA, respectively. At higher concentration of FA, the percentage of FA degradation decreased. The purpose of this study was to determine the kinetics of biodegradation of FA by measuring biomass growth rates and concentration of FA as a function of time. Substrate inhibition was calculated from experimental growth parameters using the Haldane equation. Data for P. putida were determined as µ max ?=?0.23 h?1, K s ?=?23.93 mg/l and K i ?=?217.1 mg/l and for P. aeruginosa were determined as µ max ?=?0.13 h?1, K s ?=?21.3 mg/l and K i ?=?284.9 mg/l. The experimental data were fitted in Haldane, Aiba and Edwards inhibition models.  相似文献

The number and diversity of culturable microorganisms involved in sulfur oxidation and sulfate reduction were investigated in the oxidized sediments of gold mine tailings, Kuznetsk Basin, Russia. The sediments had a low pH (2.4–2.8), high SO 4 2? content (up to 22 g/l), and high concentrations of dissolved metals. The arsenic content was as high as 1.9 g/l. Bacterial phylogeny in microcosms was investigated by amplification of 16S rRNA gene fragments with subsequent denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). Spore-forming bacteria Desulfosporosinus were the only bacteria revealed for which the capacity for dissimilatory sulfate reduction is known. Strain Desulfosporosinus sp. DB was obtained in pure culture, and it was phylogenetically remote from other cultured and uncultured members of the genus. No sulfate-reducing members of the Deltaproteobacteria were detected. The Firmicutes members were the most numerous phylotypes in the microcosms, including a separate cluster with the similarity to Pelotomaculum not exceeding 94%. Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and A. caldus were found in anaerobic and microaerophilic microcosms. The number of sulfate reducers did not exceed 9.5 × 102 cells/ml.  相似文献

Diversity of the oil-degrading microbial strains isolated from the water and sediments of the Gulf of Finland (Baltic Sea) in winter and in summer was studied. Substrate specificity of the isolates for aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons was studied. The isolates belonged to 32 genera of the types Proteobacteria (alpha-, beta-, and gammaproteobacteria), Actinobacteria,Firmicutes, and Bacteroidetes. Seasonal variations of the oil-degrading microbial communities was revealed. The presence of the known genes responsible for the degradation of oil aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons was determined. The alkB sequence of the alkane hydroxylase gene was found in ~16% of the studied strains. The sequence of the phnAc phenanthrene 3,4- dioxygenase was found in Sphingobacterium sp. and Arthrobacter sp. isolates retrieved in winter and summer. In five Pseudomonas sp. strains from winter samples, the classical operons of naphthalene degradation (nah) were localized in catabolic plasmids, of which three belonged to IncР-9, one, to IncР-7, and two to an unidentified incompatibility group. Burkholderia and Delftia strains contained the operons for naphthalene degradation via salicylate and gentisate (nag). The presence of nag genes has not been previously reported for Delftia spp. strains. The sequences of the nagG salicylate 5-hydroxylase gene were also found in Achromobacter, Sphingobacterium, and Stenotrophomonas strains.  相似文献

Several bacteria have been isolated to degrade 4-chloronitrobenzene. Degradation of 4-chloronitrobenzene by Cupriavidus sp. D4 produces 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid as a dead-end by-product, a potential pollutant. To date, no bacterium that degrades 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid has been reported. Strain f1, isolated from a soil polluted by 4-chloronitrobenzene, was able to co-metabolize 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid in the presence of ethanol or other appropriate carbon sources. The strain was identified as Achromobacter sp. based on its physiological, biochemical characteristics, and 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The organism completely degraded 50, 100 and 200 mg L?1 of 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid within 48, 60, and 72 h, respectively. During the degradation of 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid, Cl? was released. The initial metabolic product of 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid was identified as 6-hydroxy-5-chloro-2-picolinic acid by LC–MS and NMR. Using a mixed culture of Achromobacter sp. f1 and Cupriavidus sp. D4 for degradation of 4-chloronitrobenzen, 5-chloro-2-picolinic acid did not accumulate. Results infer that Achromobacter sp. f1 can be used for complete biodegradation of 4-chloronitrobenzene in remedial applications.  相似文献

Combination of genetic systems of degradation of polyaromatic hydrocarbons, resistance to heavy metals, and promotion of plant growth/protection is one of the approaches to the creation of polyfunctional strains for phytoremediation of soils after co-contamination with organic pollutants and heavy metals. A plant-growth-promoting rhizosphere strain Pseudomonas chlororaphis PCL1391 (pBS216*, pBS501) has been obtained, in which the nah operon of plasmid pBS216 provides naphthalene biodegradation and the cnr-like operon of plasmid pBS501 provides resistance to cobalt and nickel due to the extrusion of heavy metal cations from the cells. In the presence of 100 μM of nickel, the viability, growth rate, and naphthalene biodegradation efficiency of the resistant strain PCL1391 (pBS216*, pBS501) were much higher as compared with the sensitive PCL1391 (pBS216). During the growth of the resistant strain, in contrast to the sensitive strain, nickel (100 μM) had no inhibiting effect on the activity of the key enzymes of naphthalene biodegradation. In E. coli, glyA encodes for serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT), which converts L-serine to glycine. When engineering L-serine-producing strains, it is therefore favorable to inactivate glyA to prevent L-serine degradation. However, most glyA knockout strains exhibit slow cell growth because of the resulting lack of glycine and C1 units. To overcome this problem, we overexpressed the gcvTHP genes of the glycine cleavage system (GCV), to increase the C1 supply before glyA was knocked out. Subsequently, the kbl and tdh genes were overexpressed to provide additional glycine via the L-threonine degradation pathway, thus restoring normal cell growth independent of glycine addition. Finally, the plasmid pPK10 was introduced to overexpress pgk, serA Δ197 , serC and serB, and the resulting strain E4G2 (pPK10) accumulated 266.3 mg/L of L-serine in a semi-defined medium without adding glycine, which was 3.18-fold higher than the production achieved by the control strain E3 (pPK10). This strategy can accordingly be applied to disrupt the L-serine degradation pathway in industrial production strains without causing negative side-effects, ultimately making L-serine production more efficient.  相似文献

High-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene fragments was used to determine the phylogenetic diversity of prokaryotes, including human pathogens, in the liquid phase of the sludge of a biogas reactor processing oil-containing and municipal waste. A unique microbial community was found to develop in the sludge, which comprised the microorganisms of municipal wastewater (bacteria of human feces) and specific groups of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, which possibly arrived with oil-containing water. In the 16S rRNA gene library, the sequences of representatives of Firmicutes prevailed (54.9%), which belonged to anaerobic bacteria of the genera Gelria (26.6%), Syntrophomonas (6.0%), Lutispora (2.0%), and uncultured Clostridia (group MBA03, 11.1%). The Proteobacteria sequences (20.7%) belonged mostly to the metabolically diverse members of the genus Pseudomonas (13.8%). The phylum Bacteroidetes (7%) was represented by uncultured bacteria (VadinBC27 wastewater-sludge group), while members of the phylum Cloacimonetes were mainly syntrophic bacteria Candidatus Cloacamonas (7.5%). The sequences of bacteria commonly occurring in oilfields (Clostridia, Anaerolinea, Bacteroidetes, sulfate-reducing Deltaproteobacteria, members of the family Syntrophaceae, and of the genera Thauera, Pseudomonas, Dechloromonas, and Petrimonas) were revealed. No sequences of bacteria known to be pathogenic to humans were found. The cultured microorganisms were aerobic organotrophic and anaerobic fermenting, denitrifying, and methanogenic prokaryotes. Fermenting and methanogenic enrichments grew on a broad range of organic substrates (sucrose, glycerol, starch), producing volatile fatty acids (acetate, n-butyrate, and propionate), gases (Н2, СО2, and CH4), and decreasing pH of the medium from 7.0 to 4.5–5.0. The possible application of the biogas reactor sludge as a source of fermenting and methanogenic anaerobic prokaryotes, as well as of aerobic hydrocarbonoxidizing bacteria for oilfield introduction and for production of new preparations for enhanced oil recovery and for bioremediation of oil contamination is discussed.  相似文献

This study evaluated substrate interactions during the aerobic biodegradation of 1, 4-dioxane and BTEX mixtures by a pure culture, Acinetobacter baumannii DD1, which is capable of utilizing 1, 4-dioxane for growth. A. baumannii DD1 could utilize BTEX as a sole carbon source, but could not utilize m-xylene and p-xylene. In binary mixtures, there was a lag of about 14 h before the degradation of BTE, and 1, 4-dioxane only started to be utilized when BTE was completely degraded by 1, 4-dioxane-grown DD1. Furthermore, the biodegradation rate of 1, 4-dioxane decreased from 73.33 to 40.74 mg/(h g dry weight) after the biodegradation of benzene. 1, 4-dioxane could not be degraded after the biodegradation of o-xylene in 80 h. DD1 could also not degrade m-xylene and p-xylene coexisting with 1, 4-dioxane. The ability of DD1 to degrade BTEX occurred in the following order: benzene > ethylbenzene > toluene > o-xylene > m-xylene = p-xylene. The biodegradation of 1, 4-dioxane was not activated in the mixture with o-xylene, primarily because of the accumulation of the specific toxic intermediate, 2, 3-dimethylphenol. The lag in BTE degradation was presumably because of the induction of enzymes necessary for BTE degradation. Additionally, SDS-PAGE analysis demonstrated that there were different proteins during the degradation of benzene and 1, 4-dioxane.  相似文献

Objectives

To prove the possibility of efficient starch photofermentation in co-culture of heterotrophic and phototrophic bacteria over prolonged period.

Results

Repeated batch photofermentation of starch was demonstrated in co-culture Clostridium butyricum and Rhodobacter sphaeroides under microaerobic conditions. It continued 15 months without addition of new inoculum or pH regulation when using 4–5 g starch l?1 and 0.04 g yeast extract l?1. The complete degradation of starch without volatile fatty acids accumulation was shown in this co-culture. The average H2 yield of 5.2 mol/mol glucose was much higher than that in Clostridium monoculture. The species composition of co-culture was studied by q-PCR assay. The concentration of Clostridium cells in prolonged co-culture was lower than in monoculture and even in a single batch co-culture. This means that Clostridia growth was significantly limited whereas starch hydrolysis still took place.

Conclusion

The prolonged repeated batch photofermentation of starch by co-culture C. butyricum and R. sphaeroides provided efficient H2 production without accumulation of organic acids under conditions of Clostridia limitation.

Background

Culture and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assays for the detection of Legionella were compared on samples from a residential area before and after two interventions. A total of 84 samples were collected from shower hoses and taps as first flush samples and at constant temperature. Samples were grouped according to the origin of the sample, a) circulation water b) water from empty apartments c) water from shower hoses. The aims were to investigate the usefulness of qPCR compared to culture for monitoring remedial actions for elimination of Legionella bacteria and as a tool for risk assessment.

Results

In water collected from the apartments Legionella spp were detected by qPCR in the concentration range from LOQ to 9.6*105GU/L while L. pneumophila were detected in a range from LOQ to 6.8*105 GU/L. By culturing, the legionellae were detected in the range from below detection limit (> 10 CFU/L) to 1.6*106 CFU/L. In circulating water and in first flush water from shower hoses, culture and qPCR showed the same tendencies. The overall correlation between the bacteria number detected by culture and the two developed qPCR assays (L. spp and L. pneumophila) was relatively poor (r2 = 0.31 for culture and Legionella spp. assay, r2 = 0.20 for culture and L. pneumophila assay).

Conclusion

Detection by qPCR was suitable for monitoring changes in the concentration of Legionella but the precise determination of bacteria is difficult. Risk assessment by qPCR only on samples without any background information regarding treatment, timing, etc is dubious. However, the rapid detection by qPCR of high concentrations of Legionella - especially Legionella pneumophila - is valuable as an indicator of risk, although it may be false positive compared to culture results. On the other hand, the detection of a low number of bacteria by qPCR is a strong indication for the absence of risk.

The cytochrome b 6 f complex of oxygenic photosynthesis produces substantial levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). It has been observed that the ROS production rate by b 6 f is 10–20 fold higher than that observed for the analogous respiratory cytochrome bc1 complex. The types of ROS produced (O2??, 1O2, and, possibly, H2O2) and the site(s) of ROS production within the b 6 f complex have been the subject of some debate. Proposed sources of ROS have included the heme b p , PQ p ?? (possible sources for O2??), the Rieske iron–sulfur cluster (possible source of O2?? and/or 1O2), Chl a (possible source of 1O2), and heme c n (possible source of O2?? and/or H2O2). Our working hypothesis is that amino acid residues proximal to the ROS production sites will be more susceptible to oxidative modification than distant residues. In the current study, we have identified natively oxidized amino acid residues in the subunits of the spinach cytochrome b 6 f complex. The oxidized residues were identified by tandem mass spectrometry using the MassMatrix Program. Our results indicate that numerous residues, principally localized near p-side cofactors and Chl a, were oxidatively modified. We hypothesize that these sites are sources for ROS generation in the spinach cytochrome b 6 f complex.  相似文献

The objective was to understand the roles of multiple catechol dioxygenases in the type strain Sphingobium scionense WP01T (Liang and Lloyd-Jones in Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 60:413–416, 2010a) that was isolated from severely contaminated sawmill soil. The dioxygenases were identified by sequencing, examined by determining the substrate specificities of the recombinant enzymes, and by quantifying gene expression following exposure to model priority pollutants. Catechol dioxygenase genes encoding an extradiol xylE and two intradiol dioxygenases catA and clcA that are highly similar to sequences described in other sphingomonads are described in S. scionense WP01T. The distinct substrate specificities determined for the recombinant enzymes confirm the annotated gene functions and suggest different catabolic roles for each enzyme. The role of the three enzymes was evaluated by analysis of enzyme activity in crude cell extracts from cells grown on meta-toluate, benzoate, biphenyl, naphthalene and phenanthrene which revealed the co-induction of each enzyme by different substrates. This was corroborated by quantifying gene expression when cells were induced by biphenyl, naphthalene and pentachlorophenol. It is concluded that the ClcA and XylE enzymes are recruited in pathways that are involved in the degradation of chlorinated aromatic compounds such as pentachlorophenol, the XylE and ClcA enzymes will also play a role in degradation pathways that produce alkylcatechols, while the three enzymes ClcA, XylE and CatA will be simultaneously involved in pathways that generate catechol as a degradation pathway intermediate.  相似文献

Microorganisms are part of the natural environments and reflect the effects of different physical factors of surrounding environment, such as gamma (γ) radiation. This work was devoted to the study of the influence of low doses of γ radiation with the intensity of 2.56?μW (m2?s)?1 (absorbed doses were 3.8 mGy for the radiation of 15?min and 7.2 mGy—for 30?min) on Escherichia coli M-17 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa GRP3 wild type cells. The changes of bacterial, growth, survival, morphology, and membrane activity had been studied after γ irradiation. Verified microbiological (specific growth rate, lag phase duration, colony-forming units (CFU) number, and light microscopy digital image analysis), biochemical (ATPase activity of bacterial membrane vesicles), and biophysical (H+ fluxes throughout cytoplasmic membrane of bacteria) methods were used for assessment of radiation implications on bacteria. It was shown that growth specific rate, lag phase duration and CFU number of these bacteria were lowered after irradiation, and average cell surface area was decreased too. Moreover ion fluxes of bacteria were changed: for P. aeruginosa they were decreased and for E. coli—increased. The N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCCD) sensitive fluxes were also changed which were indicative for the membrane-associated F0F1-ATPase enzyme. ATPase activity of irradiated membrane vesicles was decreased for P. aeruginosa and stimulated for E. coli. Furthermore, DCCD sensitive ATPase activity was also changed. The results obtained suggest that these bacteria especially, P. aeruginosa are sensitive to γ radiation and might be used for developing new monitoring methods for estimating environmental changes after γ irradiation.  相似文献

Strains pyc13T and ZGT13 were isolated from Lake Pengyan and Lake Zigetang on Tibetan Plateau, respectively. Both strains were Gram-negative, catalase- and oxidase-positive, aerobic, rod-shaped, nonmotile, and nonflagellated bacteria. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strains pyc13T and ZGT13 belong to the genus Halomonas, with Halomonas alkalicola 56-L4-10aEnT as their closest neighbor, showing 97.4% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. The predominant respiratory quinone of both strains was Q-9, with Q-8 as a minor component. The major fatty acids of both strains were C18:1ω6c/C18:1ω7c, C16:1ω6c/C16:1ω7c, C16:0, and C12:0 3OH. The polar lipids of both strains consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, glycolipid, phospholipids of unknown structure containing glucosamine, and unidentified phospholipids. The DNA G + C content of pyc13T and ZGT13 were 62.6 and 63.4 mol%, respectively. The DNA-DNA hybridization values of strain pyc13T were 34, 41, 61, 35, and 35% with the reference strains H. alkalicola 56-L4-10aEnT, H. sediminicola CPS11T, H. mongoliensis Z-7009T, H. ventosae Al12T, and H. fontilapidosi 5CRT, respectively. Phenotypic, biochemical, genotypic, and DNA-DNA hybridization data showed that strains pyc13T and ZGT13 represent a new species within the genus Halomonas, for which the name H. tibetensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is pyc13T (= CGMCC 1.15949T = KCTC 52660T).  相似文献

The consumption of fermented foods contaminated with aflatoxin B1 is linked to aflatoxicosis. Aflatoxicosis is a serious problem in developing countries with environmental conditions appropriate for the biosynthesis of AFB1 byAspergillus flavus andAspergillus parasiticus. In Africa, especially in Ghana and Nigeria, there is a very high risk of liver cancer which is caused by the consumption of AFB1-intoxicated, traditionally fermented maize and sorghum products. It is suggested that one way to diminish this health risk might be the reduction of the AFB1 concentration in foods by bacteria. Especially bacteria used for food fermentation processes are of great importance, with a special emphasis on lactic acid bacteria which are involved in traditionally fermented African foods based on maize and sorghum. Most publications dealing with aflatoxin degradation by microorganisms describe a phosphate buffer test system for the performance of degradation experiments. In contrast to that, a test system based on physiological active bacterial and yeast cells has been developed, to assess food fermentation organisms for their ability to reduce the AFB1 concentration in vitro. The aflatoxin B1 concentration in test samples was quatitatively determined by HPLC.The assessment of lactic acid bacteria originating from different German and other European culture collections only showed a very slight reduction of the AFB1 concentration from 3% to 12%. Screening experiments in which other bacterial genera and lactic acid bacteria, isolated from different African foods have been assessed, in most cases showed the same results. However, some bacterial strains, e.g. strains of the genusBacillus derived from European culture collections and strains of the genusLactobacillus isolated from African foods, caused a release of AFB1 which was chemically bound before to components of the test medium and which therefore could not be extracted with chloroform.A process quite similar to that may happen during food fermentations. Different experiments showed that e.g. cellulose can bind AFB1 very effectively. Cellulose and different other food components are well known to absorb AFB1. During fermentation the cellulose and other AFB1-absorbing components may be degraded and the AFB1 will be released again. The only bacterial strain known as yet which is able to reduce the AFB1 concentration in vitro and in different food comodities isNocardia corynebacteroides (formerFlavobacterium aurantiacum). Nevertheless the mechanism of this AFB1 reduction is actually not well understood, it still has to be investigated. In the meantime several other bacterial strains, presumably from the taxonomic group of theActinomycetes could be proved to be effective reducers of the AFB1 concentration in our in vitro test system. Because as yet no food relevant microorganism could be found, which is able to degrade AFB1, these new strains in general offer the possibility for a genetic modification of food relevant microorganisms. This seems to be the way to come to starter cultures which are able to degrade AFB1 during food fermentations.  相似文献

Oil-degrading bacteria were isolated from soil and water samples taken in Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Antarctic; 13 of 86 strains proved to be thermotolerant. These bacteria utilized crude oil at 45–50°C; their growth optimum (35–37°C) and range (20–53°C) differ from those of mesophilic bacteria. Thermotolerant strains were identified as representatives of the genera Rhodococcus and Gordonia. It was shown that their ability to degrade petroleum products does not differ at 24 and 45°C. The strains Rhodococcus sp. Par7 and Gordonia sp. 1D utilized 14 and 20% of the oil, respectively, in 14 days at 45°C. All of the isolated thermotolerant bacteria grew in a medium containing 3% NaCl; the medium for the strains Gordonia amicalis 1B and Gordonia sp. 1D contained up to 10% NaCl. The bacteria G. amicalis and Rhodococcus erythropolis were able to utilize crude oil and individual hydrocarbons at higher (up to 50°C) temperatures.  相似文献
