A new Nearctic species of Perlidae (Insecta, Plecoptera), Perlesta ephelidasp. n., is described from the male, female, and egg stages. This species has been previously reported as, or confused with, Perlesta shubuta Stark from several central and eastern U.S. states. Perlesta ephelida is distinctive from Perlesta shubuta and other regional Nearctic congeners mainly according to male genitalic and egg characteristics. Perlesta ephelida is a widely-distributed eastern Nearctic species, whereas Perlesta shubuta appears to be restricted to a narrow latitudinal belt in the Gulf Coast region from Louisiana east conservatively to the Florida panhandle. The egg of Perlesta shubuta is depicted with scanning electron microscopy for the first time.  相似文献

A brief taxonomic synopsis of the genus Caroperla Kohno, 1946 is presented and its further generic delimitation is defined along with a new species, C. siveci sp. n. from the Wuyishan Mountain of Fujian, China. It represents the first report of the genus from China and the third species of the genus. The morphological comparison of the new species with the two other known species is given.  相似文献

Genus Agnetina Klapálek, 1907 is removed from synonymy with Dinocras Klapálek, 1907 and synonymy between Agnetina and Phasganophora Klapálek, 1914 is established. A list of presently recognised nominal species of Agnetina is provided. For all west palaearctic species, i.e., A. elegantula (Klapálek), A. senilis Klapálek, A. werneri (Kempny), comb, n., lectotypes are designated. Distinctive characters of these three species are described, external male genitalia and eggs are illustrated. Asian A. brevipennis (Navás), comb, n., is briefly compared. A. dubia nom. n. is proposed to replace A. brevipennis Klapálek, 1921 (not Navás, 1912), a doubtful Asian species. A. pedata (Koponen, 1949) and A. undaata (Klapálek, 1921) are considered possible synonyms of A. senilis. which is for the first time recorded from Central Asia (Baikal area).  相似文献

Two new Neoperla species (Neoperla mesospina, Neoperla latispina) are described from the adult male stage from the Jinhuacha Nature Reserve, Guangxi of China. Two new species of the genus Amphinemura Ris from China are described and illustrated, i.e. A. annulata Du & Ji, sp. n. from Zhejiang, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Guizhou Province, and A. lingulata Du & Wang, sp. n. from Shaanxi and Sichuan Province. A. annulata is similar to A. tricintusidens Wang & Zhu in having an apical cavity of the epiproct, but the epiproct ventral sclerite and the median paraproct lobe of the two species are different. A. lingulata is related to A. didyma Zhu & Yang in having the similar epiproct, but they differ mostly in paraproct median and outer lobes.  相似文献

Holcoperla magna n.sp. is described and figured from material collected on Headlong Peak, Mt Aspiring National Park. New information is given on H. angularis (Wisely) and H. jacksoni McLellan, and the 3 species are compared. Summary. Some aspects of the life history of a population of Dinocras cephalotes inhabiting a Mediterranean river in Southern Spain were studied over a year (2012–2013). The life cycle of this population seems to be semivoltine, of approximately two years of duration, and with an asynchronous egg hatching period. The comparison of these data with those of an unpublished study carried out in the same population almost a decade before (2004–2005) shows the existence of no differences between years. The nymphal feeding study revealed that the main prey of these organisms are Chironomidae, Psychomyiidae and Baetidae, but some of them, usually the smallest, also had non-animal matter in their guts, mainly detritus, coarse particulate organic matter and algae. So, an onthogenetic shift in feeding was detected. This feeding confirms broadly what was already reported in previous studies in the same and other populations. Finally, and for the first time for this species, the secondary production was estimated. Due to differences in hatching, and so development, among nymphs, annual secondary production was calculated both assuming a CPI of 20 months and a CPI of 14 months. In both cases this value was relatively high, 2854.46 and 4077.80 mg DW m–2 year1, respectively. These results were compared with those of other predators, and particularly with a stonefly predator with a similar life cycle and from a nearby temporal river.  相似文献

The extant taeniopterygid genus Brachyptera Newport, 1848 is reported from the Eocene Baltic amber for the first time. A new species, Brachyptera dewalti n. sp. (Plecoptera: Taeniopterygidae), is described and illustrated based on a well-preserved female in the amber, distinguished by the presence of three well-developed ocelli, the dark color of antennae, maxillary palps, head, prothorax, and abdominal segments, the CuA vein of forewing with three branches, the nearly rhombus, dark brown postgenital plate, and the four-segmented cerci. It is the fourth taeniopterygid species known from the Baltic amber.  相似文献

Summary

The winter stonefly genus Isocapnia Banks, 1938??? is mainly distributed in western North America and eastern Asia, but has never been reported from China. In this paper, we report, describe and illustrate a new species of this genus, I. anguis n. sp. from Sichuan Province of China. This is the first record for the genus Isocapnia from China, extending the distribution of Isocapnia into the southwestern China. In a stream draining a productive lake, two abundant (250/m2) stoneflies Calineuria californica and Hesperoperla pacifica differed in population size structure, habitat use and food although overlap in resource use was extensive. Life cycles of two (Calineuria) and three years (Hesperoperla) were indicated. A multivariate analysis of habitat use demonstrated size dependent habitat selection in both species and between species habitat differences. Feeding habits differed although only the largest Hesperoperla had a food refuge. Diets of individual nymphs represented an interaction of species, size and habitat.  相似文献

The gut content composition of three species of the superfamily Perloidea, Marthamea selysii (Pictet, 1842), Dinocras cephalotes (Curtis, 1827), and Siphonoperla torrentium (Pictet, 1842), from northwestern Spain is analyzed and described. The quantity of food found in all adults of M. selysii and D. cephalotes was very low. Spores of fungi and pollen of angiosperms were the most abundant components in the diet of M. selysii. Pollen of angiosperms, followed by fungal spores, detritus, and animal matter were the most abundant components in the diet of both sexes of D. cephalotes. The adult diet of both sexes of S. torrentium consists mainly of pollen and agrees with data of the previous studies on this same species in other areas. Our results also show that the consumption of animal matter could be a way to get a nutritional complement and is more common than previously considered in adult stoneflies. The obtained data support the hypothesis that adult feeding is less important for large stoneflies (as M. selysii and D. cephalotes) than for other smaller Perloidea (as S. torrentium), but feeding habits in these large Plecoptera could not be as negligible as previously supposed.  相似文献
