The insect fauna of the Russian Far East comprises 634 families from 31 orders. The estimated species number is 31500. The largest orders are Hymenoptera (76 families, 9000 estimated species), Diptera (120 families, 8000 estimated species), Coleoptera (114 families, 5500 estimated species), and Lepidoptera (81 families, 5000 estimated species). The fractions of the main insect orders in the fauna of the Russian Far East correspond to those in the Holarctic temperate zone. The high biodiversity of insects in the Russian Far East results from the position of this region extending across several climatic zones. There are four levels of diversity both for the families and for the species, corresponding to the tundra, taiga, the transitional area between taiga and broadleaved forests, and the broadleaved forest zone. The number of insect families increases by 3 times while that of species increases by 20 times from the tundra to the broadleaved forests. Differentiation of the insect fauna of the Russian Far East results from the recent climatic situation (the influence of the Pacific monsoon) and the geologic history (broadleaved forest refugia resulting from the absence of complete ice cover during Pleistocenic glaciation in the south of the Russian Far East); it reflects deep faunistic connections of the eastern Palaearctic with the Nearctic and Oriental Regions. The mountain areas in the North Pacific are the refugia of the Mesozoic and Tertiary insect faunas. The Pacific may have substantially reduced the Cenozoic aridization in the northern hemisphere, which was one of the important factors of formation of the recent biota in the Palaearctic and Nearctic regions. 相似文献

Wild Amur tigers (Panthera tigris altaica, n=44) from the Russian Far East were tested for antibodies to feline leukemia virus, feline corona virus (FCoV), feline immunodeficiency virus, feline parvovirus (FPV), canine distemper virus (CDV), Toxoplasma gondii, and Bartonella henselae. Antibodies to FCoV, CDV, FPV, and T. gondii were detected in 43, 15, 68, and 42% of tigers, respectively. No differences were detected in antibody prevalence estimates between tigers captured as part of a research program and those captured to mitigate human-tiger conflicts. Domestic dogs (Canis familiaris) were tested as a potential source for CDV; 16% were vaccinated against CDV and 58% of unvaccinated dogs were antibody positive for CDV. A high percentage of tigers were exposed to potential pathogens that could affect the survival of this species. We recommend continued monitoring of wild tigers throughout Asia, development of standardized sampling and postmortem examination procedures, and additional research to better understand potential domestic and wild animal sources for these pathogens. 相似文献

Morphometric analysis of 282 skulls of the brown bear Ursus arctos from the Far Eastern part of the range was carried out. The presence of two morphological clusters for both males and females is shown. Samples from two clusters were compared with their geographical location and subspecies. It was found that one cluster or another had no specific reference to the particular region or subspecies of a particular cluster, only the superiority of one over the other in a cluster of different subspecies and regions was changed. A comparison with the spread of brown bear genetic lines in the Far East of Russia is made. It was noted that the precise distribution of a particular cluster to a specific genetic line of haplotypes was not found. 相似文献

We report the first documented case of morbillivirus infection in a wild, free-ranging Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica). The tigress entered a small village in the Russian Far East in an ambulatory but stuporous state with no apparent recognition or fear of humans. Her condition progressed rapidly with neurological signs, anorexia, and ultimately death. Histologic lesions included vacuolated to malacic white matter in the brain stem, cerebellum, and thalamus, with associated lymphocytic meningoencephalitis. Large, intranuclear, eosinophilic inclusions were within regional astrocytes, and the brain lesions were immunohistochemically positive when stained for canine distemper viral antigen. Hematologic and blood chemistry results were consistent with overwhelming systemic infection and starvation. The animal also was antibody-positive for canine distemper virus, feline panleukopenia, and feline coronavirus. 相似文献

A seed response to cryopreservation has been studied in 11 endemic plant species from the Russian Far East to determine the possibility of their long-term storage. It has been shown that the cryogenic treatment does not kill seeds. The viability of 10 species did not decrease (or even increased) after their cryogenic storage. We have not revealed any deviations in the development of plants germinated from seeds stored at an extremely low temperature (−196°C). To monitor germination after long-term storage, procedures of seed germination under laboratory conditions have been developed. The results of this study contribute to the creation of low-temperature seed banks, able to conserve and restore a floral biological diversity. 相似文献

Two hundred and seventy-four species of vascular plants have been registered in the dumps of the Luzanovskii open-pit coal-mining station. Among them, there are 244 herb species (including 47 annual and biennial plants), 29 wood species (trees and shrubs), and 1 semiarborescent species. Nine site types have been discovered. Two stages of succession are revealed. The viability of plants at different stages is observed. The species are arranged according to Yurtsev’s plant activity degrees. Anemochorous and autochorous plants dominate in the dissemination process. An annotated list of the species under study is provided. 相似文献

A survey of the freshwater algal flora of the Primorsky Region, Russian Far East, is presented. During more than 70 years of investigations 1659 species (including varieties and forms 2276 taxa) belonging to 346 genera of different groups of algae have been recorded from this territory. The Primorsky Region is rich in habitats attractive to algae-rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and ponds. The details of the distribution of algae in different types of waterbodies have been examined. The algal flora of the region is comparable to the areas, and its taxonomical structure is typical for Eurasia. From this territory some new species and varieties have been described — Achnanthes chankensis, Cymbella ventricosa var. hankensis, Surirella alisoviana, and others. The flora includes some rare species — Fragilaria magocsyi, Perone dimorpha, and Heterothrix monochloron, and some endemics of Asia — Navicula scutelloides var. baicalensis, N. globulifera var. nipponica, Gomphonema sphaerophorum, and Surirella tientsinensis. 相似文献

Polymorphism of B chromosome morphotypes in the natural populations of the Korean field mouse Apodemus peninsulae (n = 367) has been studied in five regions of the Russian Far East: Magadan and Amur regions, the Jewish Autonomous region, Khabarovsk and Primorskii regions. Six groups of B chromosome morphotypes have been described on the size and morphological parameters. On the basis of their combinations 78 cell clones have been revealed, 23 of which are found in the animals with a stable karyotype and 76--in mosaics. The mosaics have also more diverse and unique combinations of B chromosome morphotypes. No differences between the geographic and local populations of mice on the studied characteristics have been found. Homogeneous structure of DNA in the B chromosomes of this species at the territory of the Russian Far East, as shown previously, allowed us to combine the numerical and dimensional data for each clone by introduction conditional "mass quantity" of B chromosomes (mB index). The leading role of natural selection in production of "critical" mass of supernumerary chromosomes in individuals with a stable karyotype and the weakening of its role in mosaics has been suggested. 相似文献

Fecal samples from the Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) and the Amur cat (Felis bengalensis euptilurus) from Far Eastern Russia, were examined for parasites. A natural sedimentation methodology was used and a complete examination of all the sediment was performed. This fecal investigation allowed us to isolate and identify several developmental stages of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and respiratory parasites. Five parasites were found from P. t. altaica: 11 trematodes (Platynosomum fastosum) and 4 nematodes (Strongyloides sp., Ancylostomatidae, Toxascaris leonina, and Toxocara cati). Five parasites were found from F. b. euptilurus: 1 cestode (Diplopylidium sp.) and 4 nematodes (Trichuris sp., Ancylostomatidae, Toxascaris leonina, and Aelurostrongylus abstrusus). The population genetic structure of white-spotted char Salvelinus leucomaenis (family Salmonidae) was determined based on variations in ten microsatellite DNA loci in samples from different parts of the species range in the Russian Far East. In a number of samples, variations in 21 allozyme loci were examined, of which five loci were found to be polymorphic. The overall diversity level at the examined markers was comparable to that observed in a closely related char species, Dolly Varden. The estimates of interpopulation genetic differentiation were highly statistically significant in most of the pairwise comparisons among the samples. The overall evaluation of the spatial genetic differentiation in white-spotted char constituted F ST = 0.203 and R ST = 0.202. Cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling based on microsatellite allele frequencies indicated the possible subdivision of the examined samples into two main groups, i.e., northern (represented by the regions of the north of Khabarovsk krai, Kamchatka, Yama Bay) and southern (with regions including Sakhalin, Primorye, and the Kuril Islands). The allozome data demonstrated a similar pattern of differentiation. The level of intra- and interpopulation genetic diversity in the southern group was higher than in the northern group. The isolation-by-distance test did not identify a significant correlation between genetic and geographic distances among the samples. The data obtained enabled the suggestion that the genetic structure of the populations of white-spotted char was shaped by the influence of historical geological climatic rearrangements of its range and the genetic drift because of relatively low population number and limited in the extent migration activity of its anadromous form. 相似文献

Wild soybean (Glycine soja Sieb. & Zucc.) is the nearest relative of a soybean crop (Glycine max (L.) Merr.). Study of population genetic structure of wild-growing relatives ofgenetically modified (GM) plants in the centers of their origin is one of the main procedures before introduction of GM crops in these areas. We have studied genetic variability of nine wild growing soya populations of Primorye Territory using RAPD analysis. The level of G. soja genetic variability was considerably higher than that of G. max. We have analyzed phylogenetic relationships in the genus Glycine subgenus Soja using RAPD markers. Our data confirm validity of allocation G. gracilis in a rank of a species. 相似文献
