The number of scale insect species (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) known from Hungary has increased in the last 10 years by 39 (16.6 %), to a total of 274 species belonging to 112 genera in10 families. The family Pseudococcidae is the most species rich, with 101 species in 34 genera; Diaspididae contains 59 species in 27 genera; Coccidae contains 54 species in 27 genera; and the Eriococcidae contains 33 species in 8 genera. The other 6 coccoid families each contain only a few species: Asterolecaniidae (7 species in 3 genera); Ortheziidae (7 species in 4 genera); Margarodidae sensu lato (5 species in 5 genera); Cryptococcidae (3 species in 2 genera); Kermesidae (4 species in 1genus); and Cerococcidae (1 species). Of the species in the check list, 224 were found in outdoor conditions, while 50 species occurred only in indoor conditions. This paper contains 22 species recorded for the first time in the Hungarian fauna.  相似文献

The genus Agrobacterium was created a century ago by Conn who included it in the family Rhizobiaceae together with the genus Rhizobium. Initially, the genus Agrobacterium contained the non-pathogenic species Agrobacterium radiobacter and the plant pathogenic species Agrobacterium tumefaciens and Agrobacterium rhizogenes. At the end of the past century two new pathogenic species, Agrobacterium rubi and Agrobacterium vitis, were added to the genus. Already in the present century these species plus Agrobacterium larrymoorei were reclassified into genus Rhizobium. This reclassification was controversial and for a time both genus names were used when new species were described. Few years ago, after a taxonomic revision based on genomic data, the old species A. rhizogenes was maintained in the genus Rhizobium, the old species A. vitis was transferred to the genus Allorhizobium and several Rhizobium species were transferred to the genus Agrobacterium, which currently contains 14 species including the old species A. radiobacter, A. tumefaciens, A. rubi and A. larrymoorei. Most of these species are able to produce tumours in different plants, nevertheless the genus Agrobacterium also encompasses non-pathogenic species, one species able to nodulate legumes and one human pathogenic species. Taking into account that the species affiliations to five Agrobacterium genomospecies have not been determined yet, an increase in the number of species within this genus is expected in the near future.  相似文献

The taxonomic scheme of the two families of the order Isocrinida (Isocrinidae and Pentacrinidae) is given. The first family is divided at five subfamilies: Balanocrininae, Isocrininae, Metacrininae, Diplocrininae and Isselicrininae. Six genera are included in subfamily Balanocrininae: Balanocrinus (four species found in USSR), Laevigatocrinus (USSR: 3 species), Margocrinus (USSR: 4 species), Percevalicrinus (USSR: 5 species), Singularocrinus nov. gen. (monotypic) and Terocrinus nov. gen. (USSR: 1 species). Five fossil genera are included in subfamily Isocrininae: Chariocrinus (USSR: 1 species), Chladocrinus (USSR: 4 species), Isocrinus (USSR: 6 species), Raymondicrinus nov. gen. (Oligocene of USA : 2 species) and Tyrolecrinus nov. gen. (6 triassic species). Fossil representatives of three genera, namely, Metacrinus (Miocene-Recent), Nielsenicrinus (USSR: 4 species) and Cainocrinus (USSR: 1 species) are noted in subfamily Metacrininae. Five genera are included in subfamily Isselicrininae: Austinocrinus (USSR: 5 species), Buchicrinus (USSR: 5 species), Doreckicrinus (USSR: 1 species?), Isselicrinus (USSR: 4 species) and Praeisselicrinus (USSR: 1 species). Two genera are included in family Pentacrinidae: Pentacrinus (USSR: 1 species) and Seirocrinus (USSR: 4 species). Besides, the localities of 24 isocrinid species, systematic position of which is unknown, are listed (from Triassic upon Cretaceous). Three erroneous attributions to Isocrinida in USSR are pointed out. In the conclusion an outline of the phylogeny of the Isocrinida is discussed. For a majority of the wide-spread species in USSR figures are given.  相似文献

Molecular species delimitation methods are efficient tools to identify species, including the discovery of new taxa and cryptic organisms, thus being useful to biodiversity studies. In the present work, 16S mitochondrial sequences and cytochrome oxidase I (COI) were used to evaluate the richness of species in the genus Scinax and Ololygon from a biodiversity hotspot in Atlantic Forest. A total of 109 specimens formally belonging to eight species of Scinax and three species of Ololygon were collected in 13 localities along the state of Bahia (northeastern Brazil) and one site in Espírito Santo (southeastern Brazil). Of the Scinax species collected in this study, three were morphologically differentiated from other described species and identified as putative new species (Scinax sp.1, Scinax sp.2 and Scinax sp.3). The species delimitations were inferred using three different methods: ABGD, PTP and mPTP which allowed recognizing 11 Scinax species and five Ololygon species. Scinax sp. 1, Scinax sp. 2 and Scinax sp. 3, have been confirmed as new putative species and Ololygon argyreornata possibly contains cryptic species. We suggest additional studies, including morphological and bioacoustic data to validate these new putative species.  相似文献

The present paper is based on original and literature data. In Croatia the first studies on the occurrence of ixodid species were made about 80 years ago. The number of tick species recorded in Croatia considerably increased during the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s of the past century. A total of 21 species of hard tick belonging to 5 genera have been recorded in Croatia. Ixodes is the best represented genus, with seven species recorded. Haemaphysalis is represented by six species, followed by Rhipicephalus with four species. Dermacentor and Hyalomma are represented by two species each. The ticks were collected on 47 different host species. Eleven tick species were collected on Bos taurus and Ovis aries, followed by Capra hircus and Equus caballus with 8 species and Canis lupus familiaris with 6 species. On the remaining 42 host species one, two or three tick species were collected. The most widespread tick is Ixodes ricinus which was found on 25 different host species.  相似文献

Twenty-five genera and sixty-eight species, in addition to one variety of each of A. chevalieri, A. flavus and A. nidulans were isolated from 40 soil samples collected from desert in Saudi Arabia on 5% sodium chloride-Czapek's agar. The most frequent genera were Aspergillus (20 species + 3 varieties), Penicillium (14 species), Drechslera (2 species) and Ulocladium (3 species), followed by Stemphylium (1 species), Scopulariopsis (2 species), Trichoderma (1 species) Botryotrichum (2 species), Cladosporium (3 species), Myrothecium (1 species) and Alternaria (1 species). From these genra A. amstelodami, A. chevalieri, A. ruber, A. ochraceus, P. brevi-compactum, P. ?cyano-fulvum, P. notatum, D. spicifera, U. consortiale, S. botryosum, S. brevicaulis, T. viride, B. piluliferum, C. herbarum, M. verrucaria and A. alterata were the most common. The results obtained in this investigation reveal that the fungus flora of Saudi Arabian soils is of halophilic nature.  相似文献

Floristic Quality Assessment (FQA) was developed as a tool for quantifying the conservation value of natural areas based on their plant species composition and richness. Floristic Quality Assessment is based on Coefficients of Conservatism (C values) assigned to each plant species in a region or state. Each species i, is assigned a value Ci, on a scale of 0–10 by expert botanists, based on its fidelity to undegraded natural areas. A criticism of Floristic Quality Assessment is the subjective nature of these C values. Our objective was to determine if C values of individual species are indicative of the C values of species with which they co-occur. If subjectively assigned species’ C values carry meaningful information about plant assemblages and the conservation value of particular habitats, then individual species should tend to co-occur with species of similar C. We tested this hypothesis using occurrences of 1014 species in 388 forests and wetlands across Illinois, USA. Using a null model approach, we found that species co-occurred with species of similar C far more often than would be expected by chance; affirming the predictive ability of subjectively assigned C values. Furthermore, we quantified the extent to which each species was under- or overvalued relative to its co-occurring species assemblages to assess if any species C values were mis-assigned. Woody plants and perennial herbs, as groups, were undervalued as ecological indicators, i.e. their C values were too low. Several non-native species, which, by convention, are assigned a C of zero, were over- or under-valued relative to native species with a C of zero. Based on species occurrences across hundreds of sites, our results indicated that, despite their subjective basis, C values carry considerable ecological information, such that a given species can be used to predict the C values of its co-occurring assemblage. However, some species C values appeared less accurate than others. Our methodological approach could be applied in other states or regions to validate and refine C value assignments.  相似文献

One previously named and two new species of the tineid genus Erechthias Meyrick are described and illustrated from the small, remote, mid-Atlantic Ascension Island. With these additions the Lepidoptera fauna of Ascension now totals 38 known species. Little is known regarding the biology of the two new species of Erechthias, and none of the species has been reared from larvae from Ascension. Erechthias minuscula (Walsingham) is a widespread, largely pantropical species first described from the West Indies. Larvae of Erechthias minuscula are known to be scavengers on a wide variety of dead plant material. Erechthias ascensionae, new species, is one of two species of Erechthias now known to be endemic to the island. The other endemic species, Erechthias grayi, new species, is further remarkable in having wing reduction occurring in both sexes. It is one of the few species of Lepidoptera known where this extreme of brachyptery involving both sexes has evolved. The larvae of Erechthias grayi are believed to be lichenivorous, and larval cases suspected to represent this species are illustrated.  相似文献

The leguminous flora of Delhi comprises 78 Papilionoideae, 24 Caesalpinioideae and 24 Mimosoideae species; 80 of them are perennials. Five types of imparipinnate and two types of paripinnate compound leaves were observed in the species. The paripinnate leaves are bipinnate in 25 species (mostly mimosoid) and bifoliate in two species. The imparipinnate leaves were trifoliate or multifoliate in 59 papilionoid species and multifoliate in 16 caesalpinioid species; four of the papilionoid species produced leafletted and tendrilled unipinnate leaves. Leaves were bifacially simple in 22 species, simple with ectopic terminal growth in one species and simple tendril in one species. Twenty-one species (mostly mimosoid) were devoid of stipules. In 82 species stipules were small and free. Stipules were large and lobed in 17 species and large and adnate in four species. Two species of Caesalpinioideae produce compound leaf-like stipules. All four stipule phenotypes of 126 species corresponded with stipular phenotypes observed in wild type, coch, st and coch st genotypes of the model legume P. sativum. The seven leaf phenotypes observed in 126 species corresponded with phenotypes expected among combinations of uni (uni-tac), af, ins, mfp and tl mutants of P. sativum and sgl1, cfl1, slm1 and palm1 mutants of M. truncatula, also an IRL model legume. All the variation in leaf and stipule morphologies observed in the leguminous flora of Delhi could be explained in terms of the gene regulatory networks already revealed in P. sativum and M. truncatula. It is hypothesized that the ancestral gene regulatory networks for leaves and stipules produced in Leguminosae were like that prevalent in P. sativum.  相似文献

In this paper, the very first checklist of the freshwater leeches of Maloe More Strait, a special part of Lake Baikal, is presented. It includes 14 free-living and parasitic species, of which four species belong to endemic Baikal genera – two species from Baicalobdella and one species each from Baicaloclepsis and Codonobdella. The checklist highlights six potentially new morphological species recorded for the first time in the area. The exact systematic position is stated for all leech species. Each species from the list is provided with information on taxonomic synonymy, data on its geographic distribution, and ecological characteristics. New species records are additionally provided with brief morphological characteristics and photos of their external morphology.  相似文献

Genetic similarity among fifty species of genus Medicago constituting 197 accessions is described. Pooled zymogram clustering revealed Medicago monantha and Medicago medicaginoides of section Buceras distantly related to other species. At least three groups of species exhibited considerable similarity (>60%) to a major cluster of 32 species wherein five groups comprising 2–17 species with 65–71% similarity were observed. All five subspecies of Medicago sativa showed close affinity with Medicago shepardii. So far, limited success in generating inter-specific crosses in genus Medicago is supported that accessions belonging to individual species are largely grouped together, indicating incompatibility among species under study. Species of Medicago section clustered with species of sections Spirocarpos, Lunatae, Buceras, Heynianane while species of sections Hymerocarpos, Lupularia and Orbiculares clustered solely with species of Spirocarpos. Most clusters were supported with moderate bootstrap values (≥30) and Mantel’s test. Results demonstrate utility of isoenzyme based clustering in plant systematics and breeding.  相似文献

The chloroplast DNA regions trnT–trnL was used to analyze to phylogenetic relationships and maternal donor of Kengyilia species and their closely related species. The Neighbor-Joining phylogenetic reconstructions partitioned the species into two reciprocally monophyletic groups. Kengyilia melanthera was related to species of Agropyron, whereas the other species were related to species of Pseudoroegneria and Roegneria. These results indicate that there have been at least two phylogenetically divergent maternal donors within Kengyilia, i.e. Agropyron (P genome) and Pseudoroegneria (St genome). In addition, the St genome of Kengyilia had several origins and diverse species of Pseudoroegneria might have taken part in the formation of polyploid species of Kengyilia.  相似文献

A key to 16 histerid species associated with decaying carcasses in Argentina is presented, including diagnoses and habitus photographs for these species. This article provides a table of all species associated with carcasses, detailing the substrate from which they were collected and geographical distribution by province. All 16 Histeridae species registered are grouped into three subfamilies: Saprininae (twelve species of Euspilotus Lewis and one species of Xerosaprinus Wenzel), Histerinae (one species of Hololepta Paykull and one species of Phelister Marseul) and Dendrophilinae (one species of Carcinops Marseul). Two species are new records for Argentina: Phelister rufinotus Marseuland Carcinops troglodytes (Paykull). A discussion is presented on the potential forensic importance of some species collected on human and pig carcasses.  相似文献

HPLC/DAD and LC–MS of an extract of Veronica spicata (subgenus Pseudolysimachium, Plantaginaceae) revealed the presence of six 6-hydroxyluteolin glycosides acylated with phenolic acids, three of which are new compounds and which we called spicosides. A flavonoid survey of seven more species belonging to V. subgenus Pseudolysimachium and eight species of V. subgenus Pentasepalae showed that all the Pseudolysimachium species and four of the Pentasepalae species produced 6-hydroxyflavone glycosides, whereas the remaining four Pentasepalae species contained acetylated 8-hydroxyflavone glycosides instead. Spicosides appeared to be common in subgenus Pseudolysimachium (detected in five out of eight species), but we did not find them in subgenus Pentasepalae. Previously, acetylated 8-hydroxyflavone glycosides have been isolated from or detected in eight species of V. subgenus Pentasepalae (in 13 species altogether including the new results) and seven species of V. subgenus Pocilla. However, 6-hydroxyflavone glycosides occur in some other species of these subgenera. The results are discussed in an evolutionary context.  相似文献

The present checklist includes data on the species composition, geographic distribution and feeding preferences of thrips species in Bulgaria. In total, 155 species in 48 genera are listed. Of these, 125 species belong to suborder Terebrantia and include 103 species of 33 genera in family Thripidae, 14 species of two genera in Aeolothripidae, seven species of two genera in Melanthripidae and one species in Fauriellidae. In suborder Tubulifera, 30 species of 10 genera in the single family Phlaeothripidae are listed. Of the 155 Bulgarian thrips species, 87.7% are phytophagous, 4.5% are obligate predators, 5.8% are mycophagous and 1.9% are with unknown feeding preferences. Fourteen pest species are listed for Bulgaria, of which Frankliniella occidentalis, Thrips tabaci and Haplothrips tritici are of economic importance. The list provides detailed information on the horizontal and vertical distribution of Thysanoptera in 5 regions and 45 subregions of Bulgaria. The present paper also includes an evaluation of the biodiversity of Thysanoptera and the extent to which each region of the country has been studied.  相似文献
