Description of two new species of Pseudamnicola from southern Turkey (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Hydrobiidae)

The Enidae of Timor (Stylommatophora: Orthurethra)

The systematic classification of the Enidae of Timor is reviewed by means of comparative morphology and molecular phylogenetics using recently collected land snail samples from Timor-Leste (‘East Timor’). Features of the renal and genital anatomy as well as analyses of nuclear 28S rRNA sequences confirm the placement of the species in the Enidae. Generic combinations employed by earlier authors are discussed. The name Coccoderma Möllendorff, 1901 used for enids from the Indo-Australian Archipelago is pre-occupied by Coccoderma Zittel, 1887 and therefore not available. The assignment of species from Timor to Pseudonapaeus Westerlund, 1887, which is otherwise known from central Asia, is also rejected. Instead, the Enidae from Timor are here affiliated with Apoecus Kobelt, 1902, a name originally introduced for the Papuan species Buliminus colonus Möllendorff, 1895. While Apoecus samples from Timor-Leste form three distinct mitochondrial clades, only two groups can be reliably distinguished by their morphology. One of these groups represents the previously named species Apoecus apertus (Martens, 1863). This species is found throughout lowland Timor occurring at altitudes of up to 600?m. The second species has been found in the Ramelau Mountains at altitudes above 1300?m, and is described as Apoecus ramelauensis n. sp.

A new species of the genus Chrysolina Motschulsky, 1860 from Turkey (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Chrysomelinae)

A new leaf beetle species, Chrysolina (Lopatinica) kabalaki sp. n., from Northeast Turkey is described and compared with closely related species. Habitus and male genitalia of the species are photographed. A key is provided for the species.

Three new species of Zerconidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) from Turkey

Three new species, Zercon afyonensis sp. n., Zercon karacamehmeti sp. n. and Zercon soguticus sp. n., are described and illustrated based on samples collected in the Inner Aegean Region. The similarities and differences between the related species are discussed.

On the genus Sunius Curtis, 1829 of Turkey III. Four new species from western Anatolia,Turkey (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

Four new micropterous species of the genus Sunius Curtis, 1829 are described and illustrated from western Anatolia: Sunius akdaghensis sp. n. from Kütahya province, Sunius ciceki sp. n. from Bal?kesir province, Sunius ozgeni sp. n. and Sunius cagatayi sp. n. from Denizli province. Additional records are presented for three species. The genus Sunius is now represented in Turkey by 36 species.

A new species of Polydrusus (Polydrusus) Germar (Coleoptera:Curculionidae) from the Kurdistan region of Iraq

Polydrusus (s. str.) akreanus sp. n. is a new record of Curculionidae found in Iraqi Kurdistan. The new species is described, illustrated and compared with Polydrusus (s. str.) kadleci Borovec & Germann, 2013 known from Turkey and Iran, which is morphologically similar to the new species.

Contribution to the Ichneumoninae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) of Iran,with descriptions of three new species

In this faunistic survey, we give distributional records for 48 species and subspecies of Ichneumoninae found in Iran, mainly from Golestan and Azerbaijan-e-Grabi provinces. 13 of these taxa are new for the Iranian fauna. Three Iranian species are new to science and described and illustrated, namely Coelichneumon iranicus Riedel sp. n., Coelichneumon melanocastaneus Riedel sp. n., and Coelichneumon nigrifrons Riedel sp. n.

Two new species of Torymidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) reared from flower heads of Echinops orientalis Trautvetter in south-eastern Turkey

Two new species of torymids, Pseudotorymus hasanberkayi sp. n. and Microdontomerus kahramanmarasensis sp. n. A new species of Tetartopeus Czwalina, 1888 from Turkey,and some additional records from the West Palaearctic region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)

Tetartopeus frischi sp. n. from the U?ak Province in western Anatolia, Turkey, is described and illustrated. Additional records of ten species of Tetartopeus are reported from the West Palaearctic region, among them several new country records. An updated key to the Turkish species of Tetartopeus is presented.

A new species of Pomatoschistus (Teleostei: Gobiidae) from Southern Anatolia

Pomatoschistus anatoliae sp. n. is described from estuary of Göksu River on the Mediterranean coast of the Anatolia. It is distinguished from its congeners by the suborbital papilla pattern, meristic, and ecological features. DNA barcoding based on COI sequences revealed that there is a high nucleotide sequence divergence to the nearest neighbour. Kimura’s two parameter distances between P. anatoliae sp. n. and other species of Pomatoschistus and Knipowitchia have found to be at least 5.1%.

Hydraenidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) of Mindoro,Philippines. I: Hydraena Kugelann, 1794 of the Baroc River basin,Roxas, Oriental Mindoro with description of three new species

The species of the genus Hydraena Kugelann, 1794 of the Baroc River basin in the Philippine Island of Mindoro are studied taxonomically. Five species of Hydraena (Hydraenopsis) are recorded of which three new species, namely H. hinundungan sp. n., H. quirao sp. n., and H. sanvicentensis sp. n., are described. Their genital characters are illustrated by line drawings. Photographs of their habitus and type localities, and a map of the collection sites are provided. Their habitat requirements are briefly discussed and their potential usefulness as bioindicators is deduced. The paper is based on a student thesis and intended as a first step towards the review of the entire hydraenid beetle fauna of Mindoro.

A new species of the genus Chrysotoxum Meigen, 1803 (Diptera: Syrphidae) from Turkey

A new species of the genus Chrysotoxum (Diptera: Syrphidae), Chrysotoxum bozdagensis Nedeljkovi?, Vuji? &; Hayat sp. n., collected from Bozda? Mt., ?zmir Province, Turkey is described and illustrated. Chrysotoxum bozdagensis sp. n. can be distinguished from the similar Ch. octomaculatum Curtis, 1837 by the presence of a black pile on the mesonotum and the colour of the legs. It is also similar to Ch. elegans Loew, 1841, from which it can be distinguished by the colour of the pile on the vertical triangle and scutellum, as well from the structure of the male genitalia. Additionally, Ch. bozdagensis sp. n. can be clearly distinguished from the latter two species by DNA sequence data. This new species increases the total number of Chrysotoxum species in Turkey to 18.

A new species of Cuacuba (Araneae,Theridiosomatidae) from Brazilian caves

ABSTRACT

A new species of the spider genus Cuacuba from Brazil, C. ribeira sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on eighty-six specimens collected from caves in the Vale do Ribeira region, in the states of São Paulo and Paraná. This species is recognized by the hook-shaped median apophysis on the male palp, and females by having invaginations on the sides of the median posterior edge of the epigynal plate. Cuacuba ribeira sp. nov. is the third species recorded for the genus, and like the other two, also comes from Brazilian caves.

A new species of ant-loving cricket, Myrmecophilus cyprius sp. n., collected in the Republic of Cyprus from the nests of Messor structor (Latreille, 1798) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), is described and illustrated. The species belongs to the subgenus Myrmophilina Silvestri, 1912.

New data on the genus Chrysotoxum Meigen (Diptera: Syrphidae) from North-East Turkey,Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran including descriptions of three new species

New data and records of the genus Chrysotoxum Meigen, 1803 are reported, arising from taxonomic and faunistic examination of adult specimens collected from 1920 to 2011 from four northeastern provinces of Turkey (Erzurum, Bayburt, Kars, and Artvin), and from the neighboring countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran. Three new species are described: Chrysotoxum antennalis Vuji?, Nedeljkovi? &; Hayat sp. n., C. clausseni Vuji?, Nedeljkovi? &; Hayat sp. n. and C. persicum Vuji?, Nedeljkovi? &; Hayat sp. n. The first two are known only from northeastern Turkey, and the third also occurs in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran. These new species have in common an antenna with the basoflagellomere being shorter than the scape and pedicel together.
