The effect of acute and chronic ovariectomy and the substitutive treatment with 17-beta estradiol and/or progesterone on anterior pituitary levels of neurokinin A (NKA) was studied in female rats. Acute ovariectomy did not result in significant changes of NKA in the anterior pituitary gland as compared with the levels in diestrous intact rats, but a single injection of 5 micrograms of estradiol in ovariectomized rats significantly decreased NKA levels in the anterior pituitary gland. Progesterone was without effect and did not modify the decrease of NKA in the anterior pituitary gland induced by estradiol. In rats examined 11 to 17 days after ovariectomy, NKA in the anterior pituitary gland was significantly higher than in diestrous intact rats. In the hypothalamus, ovariectomy resulted in decreased levels of NKA in the median eminence-arcuate nucleus. Estradiol significantly reduced NKA stores in the anterior pituitary gland but increased them in the whole hypothalamus and in the median eminence-arcuate nucleus. Thus, estradiol seems to be a powerful regulator of NKA stores in the adenohypophysis and also in the hypothalamus.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to determine the acute response of pituitary FSH and LH release to unilateral gonadectomy in the MSG-treated rat, and to determine whether pFF (inhibin) can act effectively on pituitary FSH secretion in the MSG-lesioned rat. MSG (4 mg/kg B.W.) or saline was injected subcutaneously on postnatal days 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 to male and female littermates which were used in the experiments after postnatal day 60. In the first experiment male and female littermates were bilaterally gonadectomized and bled serially for the next 72 h. At 0 h plasma FSH concentrations in MSG-treated rats were lower (p less than 0.05) than those in saline-treated controls, and for the 72 h immediately following bilateral gonadectomy FSH levels increased parallel to those of the controls, but after a significant delay. In the second experiment, MSG-treated male and female littermates were injected with 0.5 ml of pFF at several intervals following bilateral gonadectomy and decapitated 6 hours later. Injection of pFF significantly suppressed circulating FSH titers in all groups without affecting LH levels. In a third experiment, rats were unilaterally gonadectomized and blood samples were obtained at various intervals for 48 h. Following unilateral gonadectomy there was a significant transient increase in FSH levels in male or female MSG-treated rats as compared to their 0 h values; however, the absolute levels attained were barely equal to the basal concentrations observed in the saline-treated control rats. The conclusions from these data are: insufficient FSH secretion in response to unilateral gonadectomy may be responsible for the lack of compensatory gonadal hypertrophy in MSG-lesioned rats, pituitary response to inhibin is apparently unaltered by MSG toxicity, and the MSG-lesioned rat is a useful model to study the differential control mechanisms of FSH and LH secretion.  相似文献

The effects of a zinc-deficient (ZD) diet on the growth and trace element concentrations of various organs (body hair, liver, kidney, gastrocnemius muscle, and femur) of male rats were studied. Furthermore, these trace element concentrations of the above-mentioned organs in male rats neonatally treated with l-monosodium glutamate (MSG) are compared with those of the ZD rats. The ZD rats showed growth retardation compared to rats fed a zincadequate diet (controls). The feed efficiency of the ZD rats was only one-fifth of the controls. This is one reason why the ZD rats showed retarded growth. Body hair concentration of zinc (Zn) in the ZD rats was significantly lower than in the controls. On the other hand, copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), and iron (Fe) concentrations in the body hair were significantly higher in the ZD rats than in the controls. Moreover, the apparent absorption rate of these trace elements was significantly higher in the ZD rats than in the controls. The reason for the decrease in Zn contents of the body hair in the ZD rats is probably the reduced dietary Zn intake. Liver and kidney concentrations of Zn in the ZD rats were significantly lower than in the controls. Femur Zn concentrations in the control rats showed higher values than in the ZD rats. Cu and Mn concentrations in the femur in the ZD rats showed higher values than in the controls. Ninh et al. suggested that growth retardation in ZD rats is the result of a decrease in protein biosynthesis. The results of this study support their theory. The reasons for the use of MSG-treated rats in this study are as follows. (1) We reported on the head hair concentration of the above-mentioned elements from pituitary dwarfism (human growth hormone deficient) patients. In that study, the sample was restricted to head hair from pituitary dwarfism patients. More detailed physiological data may be obtained by the used of MSG-treated rats. (2) We took notice of many resemblances between the pituitary dwarfism patients and the MSG-treated rats in morbidity. The MSG-treated rats showed a severe growth retardation compared to NaCl-treated controls. Zn concentration in the body hair was significantly higher in the MSG-treated rats than in the NaCl-treated controls. For the other trace element concentrations, there were no significant differences between the MSG-treated rats and the NaCl-treated controls. The concentrations of these trace elements in the liver of the MSG-treated rats were lower than in the NaCl-treated controls. In the MSG-treated rats, the concentrations of Zn and Cu in the femur were higher than in the NaCl-treated controls. However, the Fe concentration in the femur of the MSG-treated rats showed lower values compared with NaCl-treated controls. The results of this study suggest that the reduction of rat growth hormone (rGH) secretion and/or its synthesis are a consequence of the impairment of rGH anabolic effects. Furthermore it indicates that MSG-treated rats are useful as an in vivo model for the study of the effects of GH.  相似文献

Several lines of evidence indicate that beta-endorphin inhibits the release of vasopressin during foot shock-induced stress in the rat. This study was to evaluate the relative importance of the hypothalamic versus the pituitary pool of beta-endorphin. Neonatal treatment with monosodium glutamate (MSG) reduced drastically the content of beta-endorphin-like immunoreactivity (beta-EI) of hypothalamus but not the beta-EI concentration in the pituitary; the content of vasopressin in the hypothalamus and the pituitary was not altered by MSG treatment. MSG treatment had no effect on the plasma vasopressin response to inescapable electric foot shock stress, when compared to controls. Naloxone enhanced vasopressin release during stress both in MSG-treated rats and in controls. These results suggest that hypothalamic beta-endorphin is not involved in the control of vasopressin release during foot shock-induced stress in the rat.  相似文献

Previous data showed that aging of the central nervous system (CNS) is associated with widespread changes in tachykinin gene expression. However, there are no data about the possible role of exogenous melatonin in modulating the tachykinergic system during aging. The aim of this work was to analyze the age-dependent changes on neurokinin A (NKA) and substance P (SP) levels in hypothalamus, pituitary, pineal gland and striatum and the role of exogenous melatonin on these changes. We studied female rats at three different ages: 5-month-old (cyclic), 15-month-old (preacyclic) and 25-month-old (acyclic). Hypothalamic tachykinin levels increase when female rats reached acyclicity, this increase was blunted in acyclic-melatonin-treated rats. However, melatonin treatment in young cyclic rats resulted in significantly increased values as compared to controls. Pituitary NKA concentrations did no show age-dependent changes in control rats, however, in both, preacyclic and acyclic-melatonin-treated rats significantly increased values of pituitary NKA were found compared to controls. In the pineal gland, a marked decrease of NKA levels was observed in acyclic-control rats. Melatonin treatment did not alter this decrease. In the striatum, NKA and SP concentrations were significantly reduced in preacyclic- and acyclic-control rats compared to young cyclic rats, melatonin had no effect on striatal tachykinins. Our results indicate that melatonin may regulate tachykinin stores during aging mainly on structures of the neuroendocrine-reproductive axis.  相似文献

The administration of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) markedly affects pituitary secretion, and its effects are probably mediated by cytokines produced by immune cells or by the hypothalamo-pituitary axis itself. Since neurokinin A (NKA) plays a role in inflammatory responses and is involved in the control of prolactin secretion, we examined the in vivo effect of LPS on the concentration of NKA in hypothalamus and pituitary (assessed by RIA) and serum prolactin levels in male rats. One hour after the intraperitoneal administration of LPS (250 microg/rat), NKA content was decreased in the posterior pituitary but not in the hypothalamus or anterior pituitary. Three hours after injection, LPS decreased NKA concentration in the hypothalamus and anterior and posterior pituitary. In all the conditions tested, LPS significantly decreased serum prolactin. We also examined the in vitro effects of LPS (10 microg/ml), interleukin-6 (IL-6, 10 ng/ml) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha, 50 ng/ml) on hypothalamic NKA release. Interleukin-6 increased NKA release without modifying hypothalamic NKA concentration, whereas neither LPS nor TNF-alpha affected them. Our results suggest that IL-6 may be involved in the increase of hypothalamic NKA release induced by LPS. NKA could participate in neuroendocrine responses to endotoxin challenge.  相似文献

To further understand the mechanism of action by which ethanol (ETOH) decreases plasma luteinizing hormone (LH) levels, the effects of multiple i.p. injections of EOH (1.0--1.5 g/kg) or saline on hypothalamic luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) and plasma LH concentrations were evaluated in intact and castrate male rats. After injections, animals were decapitated, brains rapidly removed, and blocks containing the hypothalamus [with median eminence (ME)] were isolated. Hypothalami were subjected to acetic acid extraction and LHRH content quantitated via radioimmunoassay (RIA). Hypothalamic LHRH was found to be inversely correlated with plasma LH. In response to castration, both saline and ETOH-treated rats showed a decrease in hypothalamic LHRH content with a concomitant increase in plasma LH; however, the ETOH-treated animals retained significantly greater concentrations of LHRH and showed significantly lower plasma LH levels when compared to saline-treated controls. Likewise, ETOH-treated intact animals showed significant increases in LHRH content, with LH levels remaining significantly lower than the saline-treated intact controls. Thus, these data from both intact and castrate rats provide evidence to support the hypothesis that alcohol-induced decreases in LH levels are due to a diminished release rate of hypothalamic LHRH.  相似文献

In order to study the existence of possible interrelation-ships between prolactin (PRL) and growth hormone (GH) secretions, adult male rats bearing an anterior pituitary graft under the kidney capsule since day 90 of life and their sham-operated controls were submitted to a single i.p. administration of L-dopa (50 mg/kg weight) or saline 30 days after the operation. Plasma PRL and GH levels were measured by using specific RIA methods. Dopamine (DA) and norepinephrine (NE) contents in the hypothalamus and in the in situ anterior pituitary gland were measured by using a specific radioenzymatic assay. An increase in plasma PRL levels and a decrease in plasma GH levels were shown in grafted rats. Hypothalamic contents of DA and NE were increased in these animals, while the anterior pituitary content of DA was not modified as compared to controls. The administration of a single injection of L-dopa led to decreases of plasma PRL and GH levels in both grafted and control rats, but while marked increases in hypothalamic and anterior pituitary contents of DA were shown in both groups, the hypothalamic content of NE was only increased in control animals. These data suggest that PRL and GH secretions were closely related. Dopamine could be mediating the action of PRL on GH, while NE would be less involved.  相似文献

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) was given to neonatal male rats to determine its effects on neurons containing beta-endorphin (beta-END) and alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) within the basal hypothalamus (arcuate nucleus) and caudal medulla [nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS)] and on the levels of beta-END and alpha-MSH within these areas. Immunocytochemical studies demonstrated a reduction in the number of cells within the medial hypothalamic area (arcuate nucleus) among MSG-treated animals versus saline controls. MSG did not reduce the number of cell bodies within the caudal medulla (NTS). MSG significantly reduced beta-END and alpha-MSH immunoreactive levels in the basal hypothalamus as determined by radioimmunoassay. Whereas a significant reduction in the level of beta-END occurred in the ventral caudal medulla (VCM), none occurred in the dorsal caudal medulla (DCM). In contrast, levels of alpha-MSH increased significantly in the DCM among animals receiving MSG compared to control animals. This study documents the contribution of beta-endorphin containing neurons of the basal hypothalamus to areas of the caudal medulla. The effect of MSG on beta-endorphin and alpha-MSH neurons in these areas and their differential effects on levels in the caudal medulla areas raises questions about the sites of origin of these peptides.  相似文献

The cytological changes occurring in the gonadotropic cells of the anterior lobe of the pituitary in 30 male rats and 30 male gerbils after administration of alpha-chlorohydrin were compared with those occurring following bilateral gonadectomy. A decline in the weights of testes and accessory sex glands and inhibited spermatogenesis were noted in rats and gerbils following alpha-chlorohydrin administration. Alpha-cholorohydrin changed the appearance of the delta-basilphils, cell cytoplasm showed fine granulation and vacuolization, and castration vacuoles appeared in many delta-basiphils of the anteroir lobe of the pituitary. The compound brought about transient changes resembling those of castration in the anterior lobe of the pituitary of male rats and gerbils. In gerbils, there was also a marked decrease in the number of acidophils. The results show that alpha-chlorohydrin exerts its effects on androgen-dependent structures, e.g., seminal vesicles, ventral prostrate, epididymides, and perineal complex.  相似文献

The fine modulation of gonadotropin gene expression and secretion is well recognized to be regulated by sex steroids through their direct action both at the anterior pituitary level and on the pulsatile pattern of GnRH secretion at the hypothalamic level. Since the influence of sex steroids on hypothalamic GnRH mRNA levels remains to be elucidated, quantitative in situ hybridization was used to study the effect of sex steroids on cellular levels of pro-GnRH mRNA in adult rats of both sexes. The effects of 14-day gonadectomy as well as administration of 17 beta-estradiol (E2, 0.25 micrograms) or dihydrotestosterone (DHT, 100 micrograms) twice a day during 14 days to gonadectomized animals were evaluated. In addition, the effect of progesterone (P, 2 mg, twice daily) alone or in the presence of E2 was also studied in ovariectomized animals. Hybridization was performed using a 35S-labeled cDNA probe encoding rat pro-GnRH and the corresponding mRNA levels were assessed by counting the number of silver grains overlying labeled neurons. In male rats, castration induced a highly significant 65% increase (compared to intact rats) in the mean number of grains per neuron. Administration of E2 or DHT to castrated animals completely prevented the post castration rise in pro-GnRH mRNA levels. In female animals, the effect of ovariectomy was less striking than in the male, a 25% increase (P less than 0.001) being observed. Treatment with E2 or DHT also completely prevented the increase in pro-GnRH mRNA levels induced by ovariectomy. Moreover, treatment with P in ovariectomized animals markedly potentiated the inhibitory effect of E2 on pro-GnRH mRNA levels.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The content of hypothalamic LHRH and concentration of LH in pituitary and plasma were measured on day 5, 7, 10, 14, 17, 22, 25, 30, 45, 52 and 60 in male rats which were bilaterally castrated on day 2. The levels of plasma LH were significantly higher in all the groups of castrated rats than in normal male rats of corresponding ages. The concentration of plasma LH did not rise progressively but showed day to day fluctuation apparently due to alteration of sexual differentiation of the hypothalamus. The concentration of pituitary LH was significantly lower in neonatally castrated rats compared to normal male rats except on days 17, 25 and 30. The content of hypothalamic LHRH declined initially following castration, but from day 17 onwards significantly higher levels of hypothalamic LHRH were maintained in neonatally castrated rats than in intact control. Initial decline in the content of hypothalamic LHRH may be because of stimulation of release of LHRH which exceeds maximal rate of synthesis and subsequent increase in the content of hypothalamic LHRH may be due to enhanced LHRH synthesis as a result of castration.  相似文献

Alloxan monohydrate in saline solution was injected intraperitoneally into young (35 day old) and older (95 day old) female rats at dose levels of 7.5 mg or 15.0 mg/100 g of body wt. In both age groups of rats, only the high dose of alloxan was effective to produce permanent diabetes as judged by the presence of hyperglycemia and glucosuria. The rats were bled by cardiac puncture and autopsied 21 days following the alloxan treatment. In young rats, diabetes resulted in a significant reduction in body weight gain and in ovarian and anterior pituitary weights. Serum and pituitary LH levels of these young diabetics were, respectively, significantly lower and essentially the same, whereas their serum and pituitary FSH levels were, respectively, essentially the same and significantly higher than those of the controls. In the older diabetics, although a significant decrease in body weight gain was observed, the ovarian and pituitary weights as well as the serum and pituitary gonadotropin levels were essentially the same as compared to the controls.  相似文献

In the present work the effects of fasting and refeeding on fat pad weight and alkaline phosphatase activity in the brush border of individual duodenal enterocytes have been evaluated in male Wistar rats with obesity induced by monosodium glutamate (MSG) treatment during the early postnatal period. Neonatal rats were treated subcutaneously with MSG (2 mg/g b.w.) or saline (controls) for 4 days after birth. At 4 months of age, two types of experiments were performed. In the first experiment rats, were submitted to 3 or 6 days lasting food deprivation. In the second experiment the rats were refed for 3 or 6 days ad libitum or restrictedly (60% of pre-fasting intake) after a 6 day-fasting period. Fasting and refeeding influenced the body fat and function of the duodenum in MSG-treated rats differently as compared to the controls. However, alkaline phosphatase activity and the weight of epididymal and retroperitoneal fat depots were significantly increased in MSG obese rats (P<0.001) during all the periods examined. While 3 days of food deprivation resulted in both groups in a similar loss of adipose tissue weight and alkaline phosphatase activity, the decrements of these parameters after 6 days of fasting were lower in obese rats suggesting that their capacity to spare body fat stores was enhanced. After 3 days of ad libitum refeeding, a more marked adaptational increase of food consumption and also a significantly increased alkaline phosphatase activity above the pre-fasting level (P<0.01) was observed in the MSG-treated rats. Consequently, a more rapid body fat restoration was demonstrated in these animals. Refeeding of rats at 60% of the pre-fasting intake level resulted in a significant increase of alkaline phosphatase activity in both the MSG and control group; moreover, as food restriction continued, MSG-treated rats tended to further increase the enzyme activity. Our results revealed that MSG treatment of neonatal rats may significantly change the intestinal functions. Permanently increased alkaline phosphatase activity observed in MSG obese rats during all investigated periods suggests that this functional alteration is probably not a consequence of actual nutritional variation but could be a component of regulatory mechanisms maintaining their obesity at critical values.  相似文献

We investigated whether administration of monosodium l-glutamate (MSG) to neonatal rats would disrupt immune responses in intact and orchidectomized adult male rats. Neonatal male rats were treated with saline or MSG which causes severe endocrine abnormalities. Half of each group of animals were orchidectomized as adults and killed one week later along with intact rats. MSG treatment resulted in suppressed serum LH levels in intact rats. Thymus weight and spleen cellularity in intact animals were not affected by MSG treatment, but thymus weight increased within one week after orchidectomy in both saline- and MSG-treated groups. In intact rats, lymphocyte stimulation by the T cell specific mitogens (concanavalin A or phytohemagglutinin) or the B cell specific mitogen (lipopolysaccharide) was unaffected by prior treatment with MSG. However, MSG treatment blocked the decrease attributable to orchidectomy in concanavalin A and phytohemagglutinin stimulation of lymphocyte blastogenesis. The results suggest that administration of MSG to neonatal male rats can alter some immune responses in the adult animal.  相似文献

The effects of chronic starvation (1/4 of ad libitum food intake) for 21 or 30 days were studied on the hypothalamic and serum concentrations of LHRH, the pituitary and serum concentrations of LH, and the weights of the anterior pituitary, ovary and uterus in adult female Wistar rats (chronic starved group, CSG). Control female rats were fed ad lib. for the same periods (control group, CG). On day 22 or 31, half of the rats of each group were weighed and sacrificed by decapitation. Since there were no difference on above parameters between the experiments on 22nd and 31st day, the results were combined for each parameters. At the time of sacrifice, the body weight of CSG was on the average 44% lower than that of CG rats, and also marked reduction in anterior pituitary (44%), ovarian (61%) and uterine weights (69%) was observed. Serum LH concentrations (mean +/- SE; 5.67 +/- 0.67 versus 33.30 +/- 6.00 ng/ml, P less than 0.001) and pituitary LH content (286.7 +/- 19.4 vs 451.0 +/- 32.8 micrograms, P less than 0.001) were significantly decreased in CSG than in CG rats. However, pituitary LH concentration was not reduced because of the proportional reduction to the pituitary weight of CSG rats. Hypothalamic immunoreactive LHRH (IR-LHRH) content in CSG showed a significant increase as compared to CG rats (5.77 +/- 0.52 vs 4.41 +/- 0.27 ng/hypothalamic extract, P less than 0.05).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Monosodium-L-Glutamate (MSG) produces lesions to monoaminergic and peptidergic neurons in several brain areas. The present study examined the effect of neonatal MSG treatment on oxytocin (OXY), arginine-vasopressin (AVP) and somatostatin (SRIF) concentrations in several discrete brain areas of adult rats. OXY increased in the suprachiasmatic and arcuate nuclei and median eminence (ME) and decreased in the paraventricular nucleus of MSG-treated rats. MSG treatment caused AVP to increase in the arcuate nucleus and ME and decrease in the supraoptic nucleus. SRIF decreased following neonatal MSG treatment in both the ME and neurointermediate pituitary lobe. The results demonstrate that the effects of neonatal MSG treatment on neuropeptide content are not just limited to the arcuate nucleus. Furthermore, taken together with previous results, the data suggest that these changes may be indicative of functional deficits in the neuronal activity of some of these peptidergic neurons which, in turn, may be responsible for the abnormal secretion of several pituitary hormones observed in MSG-treated animals.  相似文献

Effect of administration of different doses (0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2 g/kg, twice daily, po) of a polyherbal preparation, OB-200G and fluoxetine (10 mg/kg, ip) for 21 days was studied on food intake and body weight in male and female Laka mice. The study further investigated the effect of administration of 0.5 g/kg dose of OB-200G for 40 days on body weight, fat pad weights, locomotor activity and biochemical parameters in monosodium glutamate (MSG)-treated male and female Wistar rat pups. Administration of OB-200G produced dose dependent decrease in body weight in both male and female mice. On the other hand, fluoxetine decreased body weight only in female mice. The food intake was significantly (P < 0.05) increased in both fasted male and female mice after treatment with the lower dose (0.25 g/kg, po) of OB-200G. However, significant (P < 0.05) decrease in food intake was recorded with the administration of higher doses (0.5, 1 and 2 g/kg, po) of OB-200G and fluoxetine in fasted female mice on day 1, 7, 14 and 21. But in male mice differential effect on food intake was recorded at different doses on day 1, 7, 14 and 21. Further, OB-200G administration significantly (P < 0.05) decreased body weight and fat pad weights, increased serum glucose levels and ambulatory activity in MSG-treated female rats but not in MSG-treated male rats. The results suggest that OB-200G involves gender differences in mediating its antiobesity effect and may supplement the current armamentarium for the treatment of obesity.  相似文献

The effect of hyperprolactinemia and of chronic treatment with 2-Br-α-ergocryptine (CB 154, 2.5 mg/kg s c, b.i.d., for 90 days) on hypothalamic centers for gonadotropin control was studied in intact or castrated (CX) Wistar/Furth (W/Fu) rats bearing a PRL-secreting tumor (MtTW5). CB 154 impeded the development of larger tumors in intact male and CX female rats but was ineffective in intact female and CX male rats. Irrespective of CB 154 treatment, plasma PRL at the end of the experiments was in the μg/ml range in all groups. Hypothalamic LH-RH in intact diluent-treated rats was significantly higher than in intact W/Fu controls (non tumor-bearing rats); castration completely antagonized the increased LH-RH content in the W/Fu male rats but was ineffective to modify the increased LH-RH content in the W/Fu female rats. CB 154 markedly decreased LH-RH content in W/Fu male controls, W/Fu male rats and in W/Fu intact and CX female rats. It was ineffective in CX W/Fu male rats and in the cycling W/Fu female controls. These data indicate that: 1) hyperprolactinemia increases hypothalamic LH-RH stores and blocks the discharge of LH-RH which follows castration; 2) CB 154 restores to normal the increased hypothalamic LH-RH stores of hyperprolactinemic rats, likely by promoting LH-RH discharge from the hypothalamus; 3) estrogens seem to counteract the effect of CB 154 on tumor growth.  相似文献

Fetal (17-18 days of gestation) mediobasal hypothalamic tissue (MBH) was transplanted into the third ventricle of adult, male rats which had been treated neonatally with monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG treatment caused a marked reduction of growth hormone-releasing factor-like-immunoreactive (GRF-i) perikarya in the arcuate nucleus and GRF-i fibers in the median eminence (ME), as compared to littermate controls. When normal fetal MBH was transplanted into the third ventricle of MSG recipients, numerous GRF-i perikarya were located within the graft four weeks following surgery. GRF-i fibers in the ME of MSG-treated rats were enhanced when MBH grafts were in close contact with the ME, but not when transplants were located dorsally or rostrally in the third ventricle without making contact with the recipient's ME. Fetal cerebral cortex, which was grafted as a control tissue, did not contain GRF-i neurons. These immunohistochemical results suggest that grafted fetal GRF-i perikarya may contact the recipient's ME to increase the content of GRF previously depleted by exposure to MSG.  相似文献
