Summary Human melanoma cells were treated with different concentrations of glutaraldehyde, and retention of serological reactivity with antisera against melanoma-associated antigens, HLA antigen, and 2-microglobulin was assessed by quantitative absorption analysis in mixed hemadsorption microassays. Glutaraldehyde concentrations of 0.025% or greater significantly impaired binding to melanoma cells of antibody against melanoma-associated antigens. At a concentration of 0.0025% antibody binding was not decreased although plating efficiency was reduced to less than 1%. Glutaraldehyde concentrations of 0.25% or greater significantly reduced binding to the same melanoma cells of antisera against HLA antigen and 2-microglobulin. Glutaraldehyde treatment (up to 2.5%) of HT-29 colon carcinoma cells failed to reduce reactivity of antisera against CEA and blood group A isoantigen, which are present on these cells. These studies indicate that the effect of glutaraldehyde treatment of cells on retention of surface antigens is critically dependent on the concentration of glutaraldehyde used and the type of antigens involved. Summary Administration of interferon as a single therapeutic regimen in cancer patients with various neoplasias has had only limited efficacy in ameliorating the negative clinical course of their disease. In the present study, we have evaluated the effect of recombinant human fibroblast (IFN) and immune (IFN) interferon, alone and in combination, on growth, differentiation and the expression of class I and II histocompatibility locus antigens (HLA) and melanoma-associated antigens on the human melanoma cell line H0-1. The effect of combinations of interferons on the antigenic profile of human melanoma cells displaying different organ colonization and spontaneous metastatic potential in athymic nude mice was also determined. H0-1 cells were more sensitive to the antiproliferative activity of IFN than to IFN and the combination of interferons resulted in a potentiation of growth suppression. The antiproliferative effect of both interferons was greater in later-passage than in earlier-passage H0-1 cells, possibly reflecting alterations in the evolving tumor cell population as a result of long-term in vitro propagation and/or the selective outgrowth of cells with an increased growth rate. The enhanced growth suppression observed in H0-1 cells treated with the combination of IFN plus IFN was not associated with a significant increase in the level of melanin, a marker of melanoma differentiation, above that observed with either interferon used alone. IFN and IFN differentially modulated the expression of class I and II HLA and melanoma-associated antigens in H0-1 cells and a series of melanoma cells with different organ colonization and metastatic potential, including MeWo, MeM 50-10, MeM 50-17, 3S5 and 70W. No consistent potentiation or antagonism in the expression of any specific antigen was observed in any of the melanoma cell lines exposed to the combination of interferons. The present study demonstrates that the combination of IFN plus IFN can potentiate growth suppression in H0-1 human melanoma cells and that this effect is not associated with an increase in differentiation or a potentiation in antigenic modulation. In addition, no direct correlation between the expression of any specific antigen or its modulation by IFN or IFN, alone or in combination, and organ colonization and metastatic potential in nude mice was observed in the different melanoma cell lines.  相似文献

Summary Malignant transformation of melanocytes may be associated with changes in the expression of HLA antigens and melanoma-associated antigens (MAA). To determine whether these changes reflect the differential expression of HLA antigens and MAA by melanocytes at different stages of differentiation, we have studied the effect of the reversible induction of differentiation by fibroblast interferon (interferon ) and/or 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol 13-acetate (TPA) on the expression of HLA antigens and MAA by the melanoma cell lines DU-2, FO-1 and HO-1. The three melanoma cell lines differed in their sensitivity to the differentiating and antiproliferative activity of these two compounds and displayed an increased growth suppression and induction of differentiation, when incubated with the combination of TPA and interferon . Incubation of the three melanoma cell lines with interferon , TPA or their combination resulted in a differential modulation of the expression of membrane-bound high-molecular-mass melanoma-associated antigen, 115-kDa MAA, 100-kDa MAA, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, HLA class I antigens and gene products of the HLA-D region. Each melanoma cell line displayed a unique pattern of antigenic modulation when exposed to the two differentiating agents alone or in combination. No direct relationship was found between the effects of interferon and/or TPA on the growth and differentiation of the three melanoma cell lines and the expression of HLA antigens or the MAA evaluated in the present study. These findings argue against a direct role of any of the antigens tested in the reversible induction of human melanoma cell differentiation in the in vitro system.  相似文献

Human skin tumours often regress spontaneously due to immune rejection. Murine skin tumours model this behaviour; some regress and others progress in syngeneic immunocompetent hosts. Previous studies have shown that progressor but not regressor skin tumours inhibit dendritic cell (DC) migration from the tumour to draining lymph nodes, and transforming growth factor-1 (TGF-1) has been identified as a responsible factor. To determine whether increased production of TGF-1 in the absence of other differences inhibits DC migration from the tumour and enables it to evade immune destruction, a murine regressor squamous cell carcinoma clone was transfected with the gene for TGF-1. This enhanced growth in vitro and in vivo, causing it to become a progressor. TGF-1 transfection reduced the number of infiltrating DCs by about 25%. Quantitation of CD11c+ E-cadherin+ (epidermally derived) DCs in lymph nodes determined that TGF-1 reduced the number of DCs that migrated from the tumour to undetectable levels. This was supported by showing that TGF-1 reduced DC migration from cultured tumour explants by greater than tenfold. TGF-1 transfection also reduced the number of infiltrating CD4 and CD8 T cells. Thus, TGF-1 production by skin tumours is sufficient to immobilise DCs within the tumour, preventing their migration to lymph nodes. This reduces the number of T cells that infiltrate the tumour, preventing regression. Thus, TGF-1 is a key regulator of whether skin tumours regress or progress.  相似文献

Human melanoma line MZ2-MEL expresses several antigens recognized by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL). As a first step towards the cloning of the gene coding for one of these antigens, we tried to obtain transfectants expressing the antigen. The DNA recipient cell was a variant of MZ2-MEL which had been selected with a CTL clone for the loss of antigen E. It was cotransfected with genomic DNA of the original melanoma line and with selective plasmid pSVtkneo. Geneticin-resistant transfectants were obtained at a frequency of 2 × 10–4. These transfectants were then screened for their ability to stimulate the production of tumor necrosis factor by the anti-E CTL clone. One transfectant expressing antigen E was identified among 70 000 drug-resistant transfectants. Its sensitivity to lysis by the anti-E CTL was equal to that of the original melanoma cell line. When this transfectant was submitted to immunoselection with the anti-E CTL clone, the resulting antigen-loss variants were found to have lost several of the transfected pSVtkneo sequences. This indicated that the gene coding for the antigen had been integrated in the vicinity of pSVtkneo sequences, as expected for cotransfected DNA. Address correspondence and offprint requests to: T. Summary Human monoclonal antibodies specific for tumour-associated Thomsen-Friedenreich (TF) [Gal(1–3)GalNAc()-O-] and Tn [GalNAc()-O-] glycoproteins were prepared using peripheral blood lymphocytes from healthy blood donors. The B lymphocytes were either directly transformed with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) or transformed after an in vitro stimulation period with synthetic glycoproteins. The EBV-transformed lymphocytes were subsequently fused with a mouse-human heteromyeloma to secure antibody production and stability. IgM antibodies exhibiting different patterns of specificity for synthetic TF and Tn antigens were obtained, including antibodies specific for the and forms of different Gal(1–3)GalNAc-O- and GalNAc-O- conjugates and antibodies agglutinating neuraminidase-treated erythrocytes. Several of the human monoclonal antibodies showed an increased binding to cultured carcinoma cells as compared to melanoma cells. This straightforward approach for the production of human monoclonal antibodies demonstrates the possibility of investigating the reactivity pattern of tumour-binding antibodies from peripheral blood lymphocytes. The binding patterns of these monoclonal antibodies show that healthy donors carry different fine specificities against synthetic TF/Tn antigens and that these antibodies react with different tumour cells.  相似文献

Summary The mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody (MoAb) 345.134S, secreted by a hybridoma derived from a mouse immunized with cultured human melanoma cells, reacts with an 85,000-dalton glycopolypeptide which is disulfide-bridged to a 30,000-dalton polypeptide having little if any covalently attached carbohydrate. The 115,000-dalton complex is peripheral rather than integral in its association with the plasma cell membrane. Indirect immunofluorescence of cryostat thin sections of human tissues with the MoAb 345.134S showed (1) strong staining of the sebaceous glands and basal layer of normal hyperpigmented skin; (2) weak staining of the basal layer of normal pigmented skin and epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal tract, parotid, renal proximal tubules, thyroid, and urinary bladder; and (3) no staining of melanocytes, mammary gland, lung, brain cortex, or liver. The staining pattern of tissues from a 20-week-old fetus is similar to that of tissues from adults. The MoAb 345.134S stained some cases of virtually all tumors tested, including some derived from normal tissues non-reactive with the antibody; intensity of staining of tumors was in general much greater than in normal tissues. The expression of the antigen detected by MoAb 345.134S in a panel of cultured human tumor cells did not correlate with the expression of other tumor-associated antigens or with HLA-A,B or Ia-like antigens. The MoAb 345.134S can mediate complement- and cell-dependent lysis of cultured human tumor cells. The lack of correlation between the extent of immune lysis and the expression of the antigen detected by MoAb 345.134S as well as the effect of puromycin on antibody-mediated cell-dependent lysis indicated that factors other than antigen density play a significant role in the outcome of immune lytic reactions mediated by this monoclonal antibody. This study reports a novel splice variant form of the voltage-dependent calcium channel 2 subunit (2g). This variant is composed of the conserved amino-terminal sequences of the 2a subunit, but lacks the -subunit interaction domain (BID), which is thought essential for interactions with the 1 subunit. Gene structure analysis revealed that this gene was composed of 13 translated exons spread over 107 kb of the genome. The gene structure of the 2 subunit was similar in exon-intron organization to the murine 3 and human 4 subunits. Electrophysiological evaluation revealed that 2a and 2g affected channel properties in different ways. The 2a subunit increased the peak amplitude, but failed to increase channel inactivation, while 2g had no significant effects on either the peak current amplitude or channel inactivation. Other subunits, such as 3 and 4, significantly increased the peak current and accelerated current inactivation.  相似文献

Summary Inhibitors of human interferon action that might be relevant to tumour resistance or escape mechanisms were investigated in a macrophage system. The effects of IFN on macrophage Fc receptor expression were inhibited by three preparations: (1) a low-molecular-weight component of normal autologous serum; (2) a low-molecular-weight component of carcinoma supernatant; and (3) physiological concentrations of retinol and retinoic acid. Since human carcinoma tissue contains abnormally high levels of retinoic acid-binding protein, the possibility that a tumour-associated retinoid contributes to tumour-induced inhibition in vitro was investigated. Inhibition of IFN action in vitro by retinoic acid (vitamin A acid) was found to be reversed by -carotene (pro-vitamin A). When tested in the tumour system -carotene also reversed inhibition by the human-carcinoma-derived signal. These data are consistent with the view that at least one of the tumour-derived signals inhibitory towards IFN is a tumour-associated retinoid, although firm evidence for this must await further physicochemical characterization of the inhibitory signal(s). The present data clearly show, nevertheless, that human tumour-induced inhibition of IFN in vitro can be reversed by the pro-vitamin -carotene.  相似文献

Summary Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL), CD3+, / T-cell-receptor-positive, are important effector cells with specific immunity in melanoma patients. The establishment and expansion in vitro of CTL of a specific phenotype to tumor cells strongly depends on the method of activation and sensitization with tumor cells. We generated CD3+ CTL lines to melanoma by co-culturing peripheral blood lymphocytes with autologous irradiated melanoma cells and repetitive stimulation with high-dose interleukin-4 in a cocktail culture medium. CTL lines were investigated for their specificity to kill autologous and allogeneic melanoma. Histocompatibility locus antigen (HLA) class I (A, B) molecules are important restrictive recognition antigens for CTL. Although these antigens are highly polymorphic, they can share a similar immunogenic molecular epitope(s) and can be immunologically cross-reactive. The CTL lines generated were found to kill not only autologous melanoma, but also allogeneic melanomas having class I HLA-A antigens shared or cross-reactive with autologous HLA-A. These CTL lines were poor killers of melanomas bearing non-shared or non-cross-reactive HLA-A. Cold-target inhibition assays demonstrated this CTL cross-reactivity to allogeneic melanoma specificity. Epstein-Barr-virus-transformed autologous and allogeneic B lymphoblastoid cell lines failed to block autologous melanoma killing, indicating that CTL were not recognizing major histocompatibility complex antigens, serum proteins or culture medium products as the primary target antigen. HLA-A2 was the major shared HLA-A antigen recognized by CTL lines on the melanoma lines studied. CTL lines also recognized shared HLA-A11 and A24 on allogeneic melanoma. There were no CTL lines showing restriction to HLA-B. These results suggest that common tumor-associated antigens are present on melanomas and are recognized in association with distinct HLA-A epitopes by CTL.This study was supported by grant CA12 582 awarded by the National Cancer Institute, USA  相似文献

Domain structures of class I and class II MHC products were analyzed from a viewpoint of amino acid and nucleotide sequence homologies. Alignment statistics revealed that class I (transplantation) antigen H chains consist of four mutually homologous domains, and that class II (HLA-DR) antigen and chains are both composed of three mutually homologous ones. The N-terminal three and two domains of class I and class II (both and ) gene products, respectively, all of which being 90 residues long, were concluded to be homologous to 2-microglobulin (2M). The membraneembedded C-terminal shorter domains of these MHC products were also found to be homologous to one another and to the third domain of class I H chains. Class I H chains were found to be more closely related to class II chains than to class II chains. Based on these findings, an exon duplication history from a common ancestral gene encoding a 2M-like primodial protein of one-domain-length up to the contemporary MHC products was proposed.  相似文献

Chorionic gonadotropin (CG) is a placental derived hormone that plays a crucial role in successful implantation and establishment of early pregnancy in the primates. The rhesus monkey was chosen as a model to understand the feasibility of developing human DNA immuno-contraceptive. The coding region of rhesus monkey CG -subunit (rmCG) was isolated by the TDRT-PCR method. The nucleotide sequence including the leader peptide was 499 nucleotide long and encoded 166 amino acids. In comparing with the previous known primates CG -subunits, the rmCG was the highest degree of homology with baboon CG -subunit at the deduced amino acid sequence (94%), 79.5% homology with human CG -subunit and 70.4% homology with marmoset monkey CG -subunit. The eukaryotic expression vector pCMV4-rmCG inserted full-coding cDNA sequence of rmCG was constructed, and the expression of rmCG -subunit in HeLa cells transient expressing system in vitro and BALB/c mice in vivo was determined. The results demonstrated that the recombinant PCMV4-rmCG eukaryotic expression vector could express rmCG -subunit in vitro and in vivo.  相似文献

Summary Lymphoepithelial complexes known as thymic nurse cells (TNC) have been isolated and described in the thymus of several animal species including man. Most of the investigations on TNC have been carried out in enzymatically digested thymuses in which TNC were isolated by differential sedimentation. In the present study we demonstrate TNC in immunohistochemically stained sections of human thymus as ring-shaped cells completely enclosing thymocytes and localized not only in the cortex, but also at the corticomedullary junction where they have not been previously described. TNC expressed epithelial markers [low and high molecular weight keratins identified by 35H11 and 34E12 monoclonal antibodies, a cortical antigen shared with neuroectodermal neoplasms recognized by the GE2 monoclonal antibody, and tissue polypeptide antigen (TPA:B1)], class II histocompatibility antigens (HLA-DR), and thymosin 1. Double staining experiments with the nuclear proliferation-associated antigen Ki-67 and the cortical epithelium marker GE2 showed that most thymocytes enclosed in these cortical TNC were not proliferating. The antigens expressed by TNC indicate that not only cortical, but also medullary epithelial cells are part of the TNC system. The possible role of TNC in the education and maturation of thymocytes is discussed.  相似文献

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) has been found to increase cardiac -myosin heavy chain (-MyHC) gene expression and induce hypertrophy in cardiomyocytes. ET-1 has been demonstrated to increase intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cardiomyocytes. The exact molecular mechanism by which ROS regulate ET-1-induced -MyHC gene expression and hypertrophy in cardiomyocytes, however, has not yet been fully described. We aim to elucidate the molecular regulatory mechanism of ROS on ET-1-induced -MyHC gene expression and hypertrophic signaling in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Following stimulation with ET-1, cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were examined for 3H-leucine incorporation and -MyHC promoter activities. The effects of antioxidant pretreatment on ET-1-induced cardiac hypertrophy and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPKs) phosphorylation were studied to elucidate the redox-sensitive pathway in cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and -MyHC gene expression. ET-1 increased 3H-leucine incorporation and -MyHC promoter activities, which were blocked by the specific ETA receptor antagonist BQ-485. Antioxidants significantly reduced ET-1-induced 3H-leucine incorporation, -MyHC gene promoter activities and MAPK (extracellular signal-regulated kinase, p38, and c-Jun NH2 -terminal kinase) phosphorylation. Both PD98059 and SB203580 inhibited ET-1-increased 3H-leucine incorporation and -MyHC promoter activities. Co-transfection of the dominant negative mutant of Ras, Raf, and MEK1 decreased the ET-1-induced -MyHC promoter activities, suggesting that the Ras-Raf-MAPK pathway is required for ET-1 action. Truncation analysis of the -MyHC gene promoter showed that the activator protein-2 (AP-2)/specificity protein-1 (SP-1) binding site(s) were(was) important cis-element(s) in ET-1-induced -MyHC gene expression. Moreover, ET-1-induced AP-2 and SP-1 binding activities were also inhibited by antioxidant. These data demonstrate the involvement of ROS in ET-1-induced hypertrophic responses and -MyHC expression. ROS mediate ET-1-induced activation of MAPK pathways, which culminates in hypertrophic responses and -MyHC expression. TheDR subregion of the human major histocompatibility complex from aDR4 haplotype includes the well-characterizedDR ga ,DR4 DR(MT3) andDR genes. In addition, the region between theDR and the proximalDR(MT3) genes contains several copies of conserved DR -related sequences. These repeated elements, numbered II, III, and IV, include the DR signal sequence and a region located further upstream. Further examination of these conserved sequences showed that DR first intron sequences are present at the 3 ends of these repeats. Progressively longer portions of the DR first intron are conserved from repeat II to repeat IV, producing a gradient of conservation. The most complete repeat element of repeats II, III, and IV is associated with a lone1 exon (DR 1). Upon sequencing, (DR 1). was found to contain several deleterious mutations, indicating that it is nonfunctional. (DR 1). has accumulated a large number of replacement substitutions and mutations at positions which are invariant in1 domains from expressedDR genes: 77.8% of the nucleotide substitutions were replacement substitutions, and 41.5 % of the amino acids at invariant positions have been altered. Calculations based on these figures suggest thatDR 1 may have become inactive approximately 25 million years ago. There are, however, two histidine residues within a variable region which are unique toDR 1 and theDR4 gene, suggesting that they represent a gene pair which probably evolved by duplication of a singleDR chain gene.  相似文献

The globin gene clusters of Xenopus laevis are interspersed by various different repetitive DNA elements. A specific repeat, the JH12 element, has been mapped by Southern analysis and some of its locations have been subsequently confirmed by nucleotide sequencing. JH12 family members seem to represent mobile genetic elements and display a high degree of divergence. The nucleotide sequences upstream to the adult I-globin gene and to the two coordinately expressed larval I- and II genes have been determined and compared to those of the adult -genes. Besides some repetitive DNA elements and a short sequence of rather weak homology we have found no characteristic sequence motifs to be common to the adult - and -genes. The two larval -genes share one short sequence element being absent from the adult genes. This might reflect completely different sequence requirements for protein interactions and for the regulation of adult and larval globin gene expression.  相似文献

The pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL)-1 and IL-6 have been shown to be upregulated in the myocardium after injury and after adrenergic receptor stimulation. Together with other cytokines, such as the transforming growth factor (TGF)-, the pro-inflammatory cytokines have been implicated in the initiation of tissue repair and wound healing after myocardial infarction (MI). In the present study, the effect of -adrenergic receptor blockade with propranolol (2 mg/kg·h s.c. by miniosmotic pumps) on cardiac cytokine expression and on wound healing was analyzed in rats from 6–72 h after MI. IL-1 and IL-6 gene expression strongly increased in the infarcted myocardium 6 h after MI and peaked after 12 h, while TGF-, progressively increased from 12 h onwards. Also, TGF-2 increased after 12 h, peaked after 24 h and declined thereafter, while TGF-, was only elevated after 72 h. Treatment with propranolol had a negative chronotropic effect throughout the observation period of 72 h. It attenuated the initial elevation in LVEDP and increased cardiac output ultimately. Furthermore, propranolol attenuated IL-1 mRNA expression, but had not effect on the other cytokines. Moreover, MMP-9 gelatinolytic activity was markedly attenuated by propranolol indicating a delayed resorption of the necrotic tissue and, possibly, collagen turnover. Replacement by scar tissue, however, was not affected as indicated by normal collagen expression.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between the expression of v, 1, 3, 5, and 6, integrin subunits and clinical parameters in ovarian cancers. Ovarian surface epithelium (OSE) from five donors and tumour samples from 39 patients with an epithelial ovarian cancer (39 primary tumours and 21 associated peritoneal metastases) were analysed using immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded or frozen tissue sections. The v and 5 integrin subunits were always present in normal OSE and in tumours. 1 and 3 subunit expression was significantly less frequent in grade 3 than in grade 1–2 tumours. The proportion of stage IV tumours expressing 3 was significantly lower as compared to other stages. The 6 subunit was undetectable in OSE but was expressed in about 40% of primary tumours. For all integrin, there was a strong relationship between the expression in primary tumours and in associated peritoneal metastases. Survival analyses restricted to patients receiving platinum-based chemotherapy did not reveal any relationship between integrin subunit expression and 3-year survival rate, in this limited series of patients. In conclusion, the expression of the various integrin subunits was differentially altered in ovarian carcinoma, evocative of complementary roles of v integrins during tumour development.  相似文献

The expression of neutral glycosphingolipids (GSLs) and gangliosides was investigated in cryosections of normal mouse skeletal muscle and in muscle of mice with neuromuscular diseases using indirect immunofluorescence microscopy. Transversal and longitudinal sections were immunostained with specific polyclonal antibodies against lactosylceramide, lacto-N-neotetraosylceramide, globoside, GM3(Neu5Ac), GM3(Neu5Gc) and GM1(Neu5Ac) as well as monoclonal anti-Forssman GSL antibody. In normal CBA/J mouse muscle (control) the main immunohistochemically detected ganglioside was GM3(Neu5Ac) followed by moderately expressed GM3(Neu5Gc) and GM1. The neutral GSLs lactosylceramide and globoside were stained with almost identical, high fluorescence intensity. Low amounts of lacto-N-neotetraosylceramide and trace quantities of Forssman GSL were immunostained. All GSLs were detected in the sarcolemma, but also in considerable amounts at the intracellular level. Mice with neuromuscular diseases were the A2G-adr mouse mutant (a model for human recessive myotonia of Becker type), the BL6-wr mutant (a model for motor neuron disease) and the BL10-mdx mouse mutant (a model for human Duchenne muscular dystrophy). No changes in GSL expression were found in the A2G-adr mouse, while muscle of the BL6-wr mouse showed increased intensity of immunofluorescence in stainings with anti-lactosylceramide and anti-GM3(Neu5Ac) antibodies. Muscle of BL10-mdx mice showed the most prominent changes in GSL expression with reduced fluorescence intensity for all antibodies. Major differences were not observed in the intensities of GSLs, but there were significant differences in the patterns of distribution on plasma membrane and at the subcellular level. The exact nature and pathogenesis of these changes should be elucidated since such investigations could furnish advances in understanding the functional role of neutral GSLs and gangliosides in normal as well as in diseased muscle. The developmental profiles of four glycosidase enzymes (-D-glucosidase, -D-glucuronidase, -D-N-acetylglucosaminidase and -D-galactosidase) in the cochleas, cochlear nuclei and inferior colliculi of four strains of mice were investigated. The strains used were an audiogenically seizure-susceptible strain (DBA/2) and three non-susceptible strains (BALB/c, C3H/He and Swiss/A2G). The enzymic activities fell to varying degrees from 7 to 28 days of age. Two significant observations were made—-D-glucuronidase was low in the regions of the C3H/He strain, and -D-galactosidase was particularly low in the regions of the DBA/2 strain. The very low activity of -D-galactosidase in the DBA/2 mice is discussed in relation to the ganglioside patterns known to be present in these seizure-susceptible mice. Studies on the DNA contents of these auditory regions in the four strains showed no correlation with seizure sensitivity. This paper is dedicated to Dr. Derek Richter on his seventy-fifth birthday.  相似文献
