Ten different tetraploid wheat (Triticum turgidum) genotypes were pollinated with maize (Zea mays). Fertilization was achieved in all ten genotypes and no significant difference in fertilization frequency between the tetraploid wheat genotypes was detected. A mean of 41.1% of pollinated ovaries contained an embryo. All these crosses were characterized by the elimination of the maize chromosomes, and the resulting embryos were haploids. Six of the tetraploid wheat genotypes were also pollinated with Hordeum bulbosum. Fertilization frequencies with H. bulbosum were much lower (mean=13.4%), and significant differences between the tetraploid wheat genotypes were detected. Observation of pollen tube growth revealed that part of the incompatibility reaction between tetraploid wheats and H. bulbosum was due to an effect similar to that of the Kr genes, namely pollen tube growth inhibition. These results indicate that pollinations with maize may have potential as a broad spectrum haploid production system for tetraploid wheats. 为探讨苦苣苔科植物对其岩溶生境的适应性,该研究选取黄花牛耳朵(Primulina lutea)、紫花报春苣苔(Pri.purpurea)和桂林蛛毛苣苔(Paraboea guilinensis)三种苦苣苔科植物,将其栽种在石灰土及红壤两种不同类型的土壤中,观测记录其生长性状并对其叶片元素含量进行测定和比较。植株采集过程中,同时采集自然生境中三种苦苣苔科植物叶片及取样植物基部土壤,并对叶片及土壤元素的含量进行测定,作为今后苗圃试验的参照。结果表明:三种苦苣苔科植物在两种土壤上的生长状况及适应性具有差异,其在石灰土上生长良好,在红壤上生长较差;在两种不同土壤中,除N外,桂林蛛毛苣苔的叶片其他元素(P、K、Mn、Mg、Ca、Zn、Cu)差异极显著(P0.01);除P外,紫花报春苣苔的叶片其他元素(N、K、Mn、Mg、Ca、Zn、Cu)差异极显著(P0.01);除N、Cu、Ca外,黄花牛耳朵的叶片元素(P、K、Mn、Mg、Zn)差异极显著(P0.01);三种植物的叶片元素比值,除少数值没有差异外,大部分指标差异都极显著;对叶片元素与栽培土壤元素的相关性分析,发现植物叶片Mn元素与土壤中N、Ca、Mg、Zn、Mn、有机质含量等呈正相关,土壤P元素与叶片中N、P元素呈正相关,而与叶片中Zn元素呈负相关关系。在其他栽培条件一致的条件下,土壤因素及物种差别是造成黄花牛耳朵、紫花报春苣苔和桂林蛛毛苣苔适应性产生差异的主要原因。  相似文献

Natural hybridisation was postulated between the closely related pine species Pinus sylvestris and the P. mugo complex, however no clear evidence on propagation of mature hybrids in nature has been documented so far. To test the hybridisation hypothesis we applied chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) markers and isozymes in the analyses of 300 individuals representing the variety of morphological forms in the sympatric populations of P. sylvestris, P. mugo and P. uliginosa at the peat bog complex in the Sudety Mts., Poland. Additionally, the haplotypes of paternally inherited cpDNA of 149 open pollinated progeny derived from seeds were compared to the haplotypes of parental trees to access the intensity and direction of contemporary hybridisation. The morphologically highly variable polycormic (multi-stemmed) hybrids between P. mugo and P. uliginosa were identified. The second group of hybrids was found among the monocormic (single-stemmed) P. sylvestris-like individuals carrying the cpDNA from P. mugo complex. Hybrids of P. sylvestris as a pollen donor and P. mugo or P. uliginosa as a mother were not found, either in the group of examined trees, or among the open pollinated progeny. The results indicate that numerous hybrids can exist in the sympatric population of the species studied and that gene flow can successfully proceed from P. mugo complex to P. sylvestris. Hybridisation and ecological selection seems to play a significant role in diversification and evolution of the investigated species.  相似文献

为比较福寿螺(Pomacea canaliculata(Lamarck,1828))和当地中国圆田螺(Cipangopaludina chinensis(Gray,1832))消化能力的差异,探索福寿螺成功入侵的机制,以田螺为对照,测定了1—4龄的福寿螺和田螺的胃和肝脏的消化酶——纤维素酶(羧甲基纤维素法)、淀粉酶(3,5-二硝基水杨酸法)和脂肪酶(滴定法)的活性。结果表明:1)相同年龄的福寿螺胃和肝脏中的消化酶活性明显高于田螺。其中,纤维素酶活性分别高出1.00—2.11倍、1.66—2.84倍;淀粉酶活性分别高出1.53—3.47倍、1.47—1.80倍;脂肪酶活性分别高出2.07—4.73倍、6.13—9.93倍。2)在生长发育过程中,福寿螺胃和肝脏中的消化酶活性变化幅度(51.2%—131.2%)明显高于田螺(23.3%—47.1%)。3)福寿螺的各种消化酶之间存在协同作用。如福寿螺的淀粉酶活性与脂肪酶活性呈极显著正相关(胃中r=0.736**、肝脏中r=0.867**)。此外,胃中的淀粉酶活性还与纤维素酶活性呈显著正相关关系(r=0.696*)。相应地,田螺胃中的淀粉酶和脂肪酶之间也存在显著的正相关关系(r=0.706*),而肝脏中的纤维素酶与脂肪酶活性呈显著负相关(r=-0.593*)。4)福寿螺对纤维素类和淀粉类物质都有较强的消化能力,且能较好地消化脂肪类物质,而田螺能消化纤维素类和淀粉类物质,对脂肪的消化能力却很弱。福寿螺的纤维素酶和淀粉酶活性分别是田螺的2.42和1.88倍,脂肪酶活性达到了5.66倍。可见,福寿螺具有较高的消化酶活性,且各消化酶之间存在正协同性。这可能是导致福寿螺食量大、食性杂,使其能快速生长和成功入侵的重要原因之一。  相似文献

Current ecosystem model predictions concerning the effects of global temperature increase on forest responses do not account for factors influencing long‐term evolutionary dynamics of natural populations. Population structure and genetic variability may represent important factors in a species' ability to adapt to global‐scale environmental change without experiencing major alterations in current range limits. Genetic variation and structure in sugar maple (Acer saccharum Marsh.) were examined across three regions, between two stands within regions, and among four to five open‐pollinated families within stands (total N = 547 genotypes) using 58 randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. Differences within open‐pollinated families account for the largest portion of the total variation (29%), while differences among regions represent less than 2% of the total variation. Genetic diversity, as indicated by estimates of percent polymorphic loci, expected heterozygosity, fixation coefficients, and genetic distance, is greatest in the southern region, which consists of populations with the maximum potential risk due to climate change effects. The high level of genetic similarity (greater than 90%) among some genotypes suggests that gene flow is occurring among regions, stands, and families. High levels of genetic variation among families indicate that vegetational models designed to predict species' response to global‐scale environmental change may need to consider the degree and hierarchical structure of genetic variation when making large‐scale inferences.  相似文献

Bird-pollinated flowers are known to secrete relatively dilute nectars (with concentrations averaging 20–25% w/w). Many southern African plants that are pollinated by passerine birds produce nectars with little or no sucrose. Moreover, these hexose nectars are extremely dilute (10–15%). This suggests a link between sugar composition and nectar concentration. Nectar originates from sucrose-rich phloem sap, and the proportion of monosaccharides depends on the presence and activity of invertase in the nectary. Hydrolysis of sucrose increases nectar osmolality and the resulting water influx can potentially convert a 30% sucrose nectar into a 20% hexose nectar, with a 1.56 times increase in volume. Hydrolysis may also increase the gradient for sucrose transport and thus the rate of sugar secretion. When sucrose content and refractometer data were compared, some significant correlations were seen, but the occurrence of sucrose-rich or hexose-rich nectars can also be explained on phylogenetic grounds (e.g. Erythrina and Protea). Hexose nectars may be abundant enough to drip from open flowers, but evaporation leads to much variability in nectar concentration and increases the choices available to pollinators.  相似文献

We compared patterns of patch residence and oviposition ofRhagoletis pomonella (Diptera: Tephritidae) females that originated as larvae from hawthorn or apple trees and were released into patches of host trees containing hawthorn or apple fruit in an open field. There were no detectable differences between hawthorn-origin females in patches of hawthorns and apple-origin females in patches of apples in numbers of females observed on food, fruit or foliage or in numbers of eggs laid in fruit during the course of the 7-h experimental period. Apple-origin females in patches of hawthorns behaved similarly to hawthorn-origin females in patches of hawthorns. In contrast, hawthorn-origin females in patches of apples differed significantly from apple-origin females in patches of apples. The former were observed on fruit only 40% as often and laid only 20% as many eggs before departing a patch. Our findings support the hypothesis of G. L. Bush thatR. pomonella flies of hawthorn and apple origin represent distinct host races.  相似文献

Differences in mineral nutrient composition of soils have been considered to affect health and population characteristics of free-ranging animals, particularly herbivores. Contents of Ca, Mg, and K in hair of female fawn white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) were measured for eight consecutive years to determine if soil and annual effects occurred in two areas of contrasting soil productivity in Illinois. Soil differences may account for some of the autumnal weight difference (7.2 kg for 4 yrs of observation) observed in fawn does from the areas. Ca, Mg, and K were assayed, because these macronutrients were known to differ in soils of the areas and were presumed to differ in forages. In 6 of the 8 yrs, at least one element was significantly different (P ≤ 0.05) between areas. Significant (P ≤ 0.05) differences for K occurred in 5 yr, for Ca in 4 yr, and for Mg in 2 yr. Ca and Mg were lower in hair in 7 yr from deer collected from the area in which extractable Ca and Mg were higher in soils; that is, hair Ca and Mg levels tended to be inversely related to levels of plant-available Ca and Mg in soil. For 7 of the 8 yr, K content was lower in hair from the area of lower soil K content. Within one area, between-year differences occurred for Ca and K and for Ca and Mg in the other area. Between-year differences in diet selection and annual climatic effects on mineral uptake of forages, among other factors, may account for some of the latter differences. Results for hair analyses suggest that macronutrient differences in Ca, Mg, and K occur in the diets of these populations and may account for some of the weight difference observed between the areas.  相似文献

Summary Lines isogenic or near isogenic for traits other than resistance to black root rot from Nicotiana debneyi were developed in eight cultivar backgrounds of burley tobacco (N. tabacum L.). For each cultivar background, a resistant and susceptible selection from the seventh backcross generation plus the recurrent parental cultivar were evaluated for ten agronomic and chemical traits. Resistant selections were statistically different from the susceptible entries for days to flower, total nitrogen content, and total alkaloid content. Also, resistant selections were consistently lower in yield, but the differences were statistically nonsignificant. Resistant selections were also taller in three families and in two families the resistant selections had wider leaves. Linkage of genetic material from N. debneyi with the resistance factor was suggested as the possible reason for differences between resistant and susceptible selections.  相似文献

该研究采用原子吸收分光光度法和火焰光度法,测定云南20个种植地的秦艽及其生长土壤中无机元素的含量,探讨药材中无机元素分布特征,并对药材中无机元素含量与土壤中无机元素含量的相关性进行了分析。结果表明:云南秦艽药材无机元素的含量呈现K>Ca>Mg>Fe>Mn>Zn>Cu有规律的分布态势;通过相关性分析、主成分分析和逐步回归分析发现秦艽的特征元素为K、Cu、Ca和Zn;药材中钾含量与土壤中锌,钙与土壤中锰和铜,锰与土壤中钙和镁,铜与土壤中钾和锌元素含量间均分别显著负相关;而药材中镁含量与土壤中钙和镁,铁、铜与土壤中铁元素含量间均呈显著正相关。对秦艽各无机元素含量影响最大的因子是秦艽生长土壤有效钙,有效铁和有效锌其次,最后为有效锰。该研究结果为秦艽道地性成因及适宜栽培区域的选择提供了参考,为秦艽资源合理利用和GAP研究以及从无机元素的角度品评药材品质提供了理论依据。  相似文献

Insulin plays an important role in bone prevention of diabetic osteoporosis, but little is known about the relation between the bone mineral density (BMD) increase and the change of mineral element content after treated with insulin. To address this problem, male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: normal group (n = 6), streptozotocin-induced diabetic group (n = 5), and streptozotocin-induced diabetic group with insulin treatment (n = 5). The femoral BMD was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, and the element content was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The results showed that the femoral BMD in diabetic group was significantly lower than that in normal group (P < 0.01) but restored by insulin treatment (P < 0.01 vs diabetic group). ICP-AES analysis revealed that the element content of calcium (Ca), phosphorous (P), magnesium (Mg), strontium (Sr), and potassium (K) in diabetic group were remarkably lower than those in normal group (P < 0.01) but only Ca, P, and Mg content were significantly increased compared with diabetic group (P < 0.05) after insulin treatment. However, no significant differences were observed in element zinc (Zn) content among three groups. Our findings suggested that the loss of Ca, P, Mg, Sr, and K content accounted for the lower BMD in streptozotocin-induced diabetes rats, insulin treatment could restore BMD by increasing the content of Ca, P, and Mg.  相似文献

为提高苹果渣资源利用率,探究苹果渣乙醇提取物的抗菌活性和防腐性能,该文采用微波辅助提取法制取苹果渣乙醇提取物,用抑菌圈实验测定其抗菌活性,并研究了其防腐作用。结果表明:(1)苹果渣乙醇提取物对酵母菌抑制作用不明显(抑菌圈直径<1 mm),对金黄色葡萄球菌和大肠杆菌的抑菌作用较明显(抑菌圈直径为6~9 mm),最佳抑菌浓度为4.0 g·L-1。(2)pH值和盐浓度对其抑菌效果有影响,pH值为6~7,盐浓度为5.0 g·L-1,抑菌效果最好。(3)对百香果有较好的保鲜防腐效果,最佳使用浓度为0.2%。在该浓度下贮藏后的百香果腐烂率为6.7%(对照组为67%),失重率为5.5%(对照组为36.3%),可溶性固形物、总酸含量均与贮藏前差异不显著(P> 0.05)(对照组P< 0.05),且果实较饱满,硬度较高,鲜艳有光泽,酸甜适中。综上所述,苹果渣乙醇提取物对大肠杆菌和金黄色葡萄球菌具有良好的抑制作用,对百香果的保鲜防腐效果佳,可应用到天然食品的保鲜防腐。  相似文献

以四个品系的三倍体罗汉果雌株为材料,用五种不同的二倍体雄花分别对其授粉,利用傅里叶变换红外光谱法(FTIR)测定了其子代果实的红外光谱,并运用主成分分析和聚类分析研究了授粉雄花对子代果实化学成分的影响。结果表明:不同雄花授粉后,雌株F302、F323和F322各子代果实红外光谱中1 050 cm-1波数附近甜苷物质特征吸收峰的峰高有显著或极显著差异,雌株F311子代无籽果实的差异不显著;同时五种授粉雄花分别对雌株F302、F323、F322和F311子代果实在主成分二维投影图和聚类图中的排序也有明显的影响,但对不同品系雌株子代果实的排序影响不同,从而说明三倍体罗汉果的甜苷物质含量和整体成分含量均有较为明显的花粉直感效应,并且存在品种特异性。  相似文献

The production of self-pollinated plants could be important for improving medicinal plants secondary metabolites. In this study, 11 Thymus populations from eight species were evaluated to determine the effect of self and open pollination on agro-morphological characteristics, total phenolic content (TPC), essential oil (EO) content, and EO components. Inbreeding led to some positive effects of above mentioned traits in most of the studied populations. Total phenolic content ranged from 7.07 to 52.69 mg tannic acid equivalents (TAE) g−1 dry weight (DW) in open pollinated derived populations, while it varied from 1.2 to 55.03 mg TAE g−1 DW in self-pollinated ones. Under open and self-pollination condition, the highest EO content was obtained in T. trautvetteri (3.37 %) and T. pubescens (1.96 %), respectively. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) identified 42 compounds including thymol, carvacrol, linalool, p-cymene, γ-terpinene, terpinen-4-ol, and α-terpineol as the main compounds. In most cases, selfed plants compared to open pollinated ones, revealed higher thymol content. T. daenensis-1 showed a significant increase in thymol content (from 25.22 % to 74.3 %) due to self-pollination. Moreover, self-pollination led to emergence of some new compounds. Carvacrol methyl ether was the constituents of Thymus EO that are being reported in self-pollinated populations. Finally, inbreeding in Thymus might be suggested as a useful tool to increase genetic homogeneity for the selection of superior plants for improving secondary metabolite.  相似文献

Summary Two diverse parents of upland cotton namely J.34 and I.C. 1926 were crossed. A comparison between biparental intermated progenies and F3 families indicated alteration of correlation coefficient between yield and halo length. The significant negative correlation in F3 population between these two attributes changed to a positive but non significant one in biparental intermated progenies. A change in correlation coefficients was expected due to breakage of linkage upon intermating. An increase in the correlation coefficients could also be expected when linkages are predominantly in the repulsion phase. It is suggested that intermating in early generations coupled with selection of desirable segregants may prove a useful method for improving yield and quality simultaneously. Crop plant domestication can change plant resistance to herbivores leading to differences in pest pressure experienced by crop plants and their wild relatives. To compare resistance to herbivores between domesticated and wild fruit trees, we quantified direct resistance and indirect resistance to a pest insect, the florivorous apple blossom weevil Anthonomus pomorum (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), for the cultivated apple Malus domestica and two wild apple species, the European crab apple M. sylvestris and the exotic M. kirghisorum. We measured weevil infestation and performance (weight, sex ratio), and weevil parasitism by parasitoid wasps for different cultivars of M. domestica and for the two wild apple species. To explain weevil and parasitoid responses to different apple species, we quantified tree characteristics including nitrogen content, size of flower buds, bark roughness, tree size, tree phenology and tree position. We found significant differences in susceptibility to weevil infestation between apple species, with lowest infestation (highest apple resistance) in M. domestica and highest infestation in M. kirghisorum. The suitability of apple species also varied significantly: weevils emerging from M. sylvestris were significantly lighter than those from M. kirghisorum. Parasitism of A. pomorum by different parasitoid species was significantly higher in M. sylvestris than in M. domestica. Infestation, weevil weight and parasitism were positively related to tree characteristics: infestation to bud nitrogen content and bark roughness, weevil size to nitrogen content and bud size, and parasitism to tree height and bud density. Our study revealed marked differences between apple species in susceptibility and suitability for the pest herbivore, but also for antagonistic parasitoids. Whereas direct resistance appeared to be higher in cultivated apple, indirect resistance via parasitoids was apparently higher in wild apple trees. Our findings suggest that wild and cultivated apple trees possess different resistance traits that may be combined to optimize resistance in commercial apple cultivars.  相似文献

The ability of different alpine species to influence soil nutrient concentrations was quantified by growing monocultures of 17 species on a homogenized acid alpine soil mixture. The experiment was carried out at 2750 m a.s.l. in the Teberda Reserve, Northwest Caucasus. Soil nuturient contents (NH4, NO3, P, Ca, Mg, and K) and pH were analyzed after 6 years. The same soil mixture but without plants was used as a control. The plant species had significant effects on all soil properties. Different species groups tended to decrease different nutrients to different extents, e.g.Matricaria caucasica had the lowest level for NO3 andFestuca ovina for P. Many species increased the cation content (Ca, Mg, K) in the soil in comparison with the control. Prevention of cation leaching seems to be the main mechanism of these increases, because initial cation contents were higher than the final. All species, exceptSibbaldia procumbens, increased soil pH in comparison with the final control. Significant differences among taxonomic groups (families) were found for exchangeable Ca, Mg, and pH.Fabaceae decreased cation contents (Ca, Mg), but tended to increase nitrogen (NH4, NO3).Cyperaceae (Carex spp.) tended to decrease ammonium content, and bothAsteraceae andCyperaceae tended to decrease nitrate concentrations. The phosphorus content tended to be reduced by grasses. There was no strong correspondence between properties of native soils of 4 alpine communities and nutrient concentrations for species preferring those communities.  相似文献

Summary Electron probe X-ray microanalysis (XRMA) of freeze-dried ultrathin sections provides the capability of measuring intracellular elemental content. This methodology was used to investigate the stimulus-permeability coupling responses associated with phagocytosis of Pseudomonas aeruginosa by cultured pulmonary alveolar macrophages (PAMs) of rats. PAMs were challenged with P. aeruginosa suspended in Gey's buffer at a bacteria to PAM ratio of 501 for 1 h at 37° C. A 1-mm3 pellet of the unchallenged control PAMs, challenged PAMs and P. aeruginosa alone was quench-frozen in nitrogen-cooled, liquid propane, and 0.1-m cryosections were cut at -100° C. X-ray spectra were collected for nucleus and cytoplasm of 39 control PAMs, 36 challenged PAMs and 40 P. aeruginosa. Concentrations (mmole/kg dry weight) were obtained for Na, Cl, K, Ca, Mg, P, S for each cell. In the control PAMs, the content was similar to other mammalian cells. Moreover, there were no differences in elemental content between nucleus and cytoplasm. In the challenged PAMs, Na concentration was 4 times that of control PAMs (p<0.001) whereas Cl was double (p<0.001), K was 29% lower (p<0.001), and Ca was 4 times higher (p<0.05). The elemental concentration profile in the P. aeruginosa was distinctly different from that of the PAMs: higher Na, Ca, Mg, but lower Cl and K values. These results demonstrate elemental content changes in cultured PAMs challenged with P. aeruginosa that indicate a stimulus-permeability response by membranes associated with the phagocytic process.  相似文献

The rosy apple aphid (Dysaphis plantaginea), the leaf-curling aphid (Dysaphis cf. devecta) and the green apple aphid (Aphis pomi) are widespread pest insects that reduce growth of leaves, fruits and shoots in apple (Malus × domestica). Aphid control in apple orchards is generally achieved by insecticides, but alternative management options like growing resistant cultivars are needed for a more sustainable integrated pest management (IPM). A linkage map available for a segregating F1-cross of the apple cultivars ‘Fiesta’ and ‘Discovery’ was used to investigate the genetic basis of resistance to aphids. Aphid infestation and plant growth characteristics were repeatedly assessed for the same 160 apple genotypes in three different environments and 2 consecutive years. We identified amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers linked to quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for resistance to D. plantaginea (‘Fiesta’ linkage group 17, locus 57.7, marker E33M35–0269; heritability: 28.3%), and to D. cf. devecta (‘Fiesta’ linkage group 7, locus 4.5, marker E32M39–0195; heritability: 50.2%). Interactions between aphid species, differences in climatic conditions and the spatial distribution of aphid infestation were identified as possible factors impeding the detection of QTLs. A pedigree analysis of simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker alleles closely associated with the QTL markers revealed the presence of the alleles in other apple cultivars with reported aphid resistance (‘Wagener’, ‘Cox’s Orange Pippin’), highlighting the genetic basis and also the potential for gene pyramiding of aphid resistance in apple. Finally, significant QTLs for shoot length and stem diameter were identified, while there was no relationship between aphid resistance and plant trait QTLs.
