Morpho-fuctional causes of the formation of protandrous Cyclophyllidea (tapeworms) have been studied. Two forms of protandry are described. The protandry type I is typical for polymeric (polysegmental) Hymenolepididae. It appears independently in different taxa of this family (Aploparaksis, Echinatrium, Wardium, Diorchis and others) while the narrow-strobila forms with a low prolificacy of proglottids are formed. The development of this living form of hymenolepidids is ecologically caused by the high density of their aggregation in intestines of hosts. The primordium results in the development of genitals in the juvenile strobila proglottids with the limited internal space. Due to this process, parallel morphogenesis of male and female gonads is proved to be impossible. A selection leading to the overtaking development of testicles and copulative apparatus regarding morphogenesis of ovary and vitellarium is based an earlier maturation of testicles and group copulation of proglottids with and underdeveloped ovary that is typical in original euandrogyne forms. The group insemination of proglottids from a polysegmented strobila reduces the number of copulation and improves an efficiency of cross-copulation of tapeworms and. As a result, morpho-functional zones of male proglottids characterized by an immature ovary and those of fertile female segments losing their testicles are differentiated in the strobila. The protandry type II is typical of mesomeric tapeworms (Dilepididae, Schistotaeniidae, Anoplocephalidae). It is also resulted from a limited space of proglottids for developing the hermaphroditic genital apparatus. This is caused by the shift of genital morphogenesis process into juvenile proglottids and also by the enlargement of gonad sizes as the result of a selection for a higher prolificacy of proglottids. The dissociation of the development of male and female gonads takes place because of the retardation of ovary morphogenesis.  相似文献

Four day old in vivo Hymenolepis microstoma were cultured in vitro for 6 days in media containing 2, 1, 0.5 and 0.1% yeast extract. Worms from all groups including control group increased in length and produced nearly equivalent numbers of proglottids. However, worms grown in yeast extract added media produced significantly more mature proglottids and were heavier than those in the control medium. The possibility of pyridoxin involvement has been contemplated. Effects of osmotic pressure and pH on the development of worms are discussed.  相似文献

Quantitative determination of the elements potassium, sodium, manganese, magnesium, iron, cobalt and zinc was performed in mycobacteria by neutron activation analysis. Mycobacterium phlei ATCC 19 249 at different phase of growth (4, 8, 13, 23 and 37 days old cultures), and 14 days old Mycobacterium bovis BCG cultures and uninoculated semi-synthetic Sauton culture media were examined. The elements studied could be divided into three groups; sodium, potassium and magnesium could be regarded as major, iron as minor, and zinc, manganese and cobalt as trace elements. M. phlei contained, with the exception of zinc, higher amounts of elements than M. bovis. Other metals (aluminium, antimony, rubidium) could also be detected.  相似文献

Eggs of Echinococcus granulosus either released from or contained within the proglottids were treated with praziquantel and bunamidine hydrochloride at 37 C for 1 hr and then administered orally to mice and gerbils to test their infectivity. Praziquantel did not possess absolute ovicidal activity against E. granulosus eggs either within or outside the proglottids and bunamidine hydrochloride did not kill them within the proglottids. These findings bear on the use of praziquantel in control programs.  相似文献

Major yolk protein (MYP), a transferrin superfamily protein that forms yolk granules in sea urchin eggs, is also contained in the coelomic fluid and nutritive phagocytes of the gonad in both sexes. MYP in the coelomic fluid (CFMYP; 180 kDa) has a higher molecular mass than MYP in eggs (EGMYP; 170 kDa). Here we show that MYP has a zinc-binding capacity that is diminished concomitantly with its incorporation from the coelomic fluid into the gonad in the sea urchin Pseudocentrotus depressus. Most of the zinc in the coelomic fluid was bound to CFMYP, whereas zinc in eggs was scarcely bound to EGMYP. Both CFMYP and EGMYP were present in nutritive phagocytes, where CFMYP bound more zinc than EGMYP. Saturation binding assays revealed that CFMYP has more zinc-binding sites than EGMYP. Labeled CFMYP injected into the coelom was incorporated into ovarian and testicular nutritive phagocytes and vitellogenic oocytes, and the molecular mass of part of the incorporated CFMYP shifted to 170 kDa. Considering the fact that the digestive tract is a major production site of MYP, we propose that CFMYP transports zinc, essential for gametogenesis, from the digestive tract to the ovary and testis through the coelomic fluid, after which part of the CFMYP is processed to EGMYP with loss of zinc-binding site(s).  相似文献

Diets of rats infected with Hymenolepis diminuta (CESTODA: Cyclophyllidea) were altered with respect to carbohydrate content and to roughage, and the effects on worm growth and development were studied. Compared to worms from rats fed a 56% glucose diet, those on a 56% starch diet were heavier at 10 and 15 days and had more immature proglottids at 5 days, mature prglottids at 10 days, and mature and gravid proglottids at 15 days postinfection. In addition, worms from rats fed the starch diet contained a higher carbohydrate concentration and a lower lipid concentration from those fed the glucose diet. Worms from rats fed diets with combinations of carbohydrates such as 51% starch-5% sucrose and 51% starch-5% lactose were not different from those fed the 56% starch diet. If rats were fed a pellet diet (Purina Laboratory Chow), the worms grew substantially larger than those from rats fed the 56% starch or combination diets. The differences could be overcome if a 6% roughage component were included in the 56% starch diet. Therefore, the starch-roughage diet here presented is recommended as the optimal defined diet for studies of the development of H. diminuta in the definitive host.  相似文献

分析对比了4个剖面(稻田、旱地、城墙岩群组林地、蓬莱镇组林地)Zn形态的分布特征,结果表明,稻田各形态Zn的剖面分布比旱地复杂,农地土层深厚,Zn各形态分配在层次间的变化较林地复杂.DTPA-Zn(有效态锌)在表层分配的相对较高,说明作物根系层及林木根系层缺Zn突出.对各种形态在不同剖面中的分配进行了显著性分析,结果表明,农地的碳酸盐结合态锌(3.65%)、紧结有机结合态锌(2.81%)、晶形氧化铁结合态锌(22.04%)显著大于林地(1.86%、0.84%、11.59%).  相似文献

Burmese pythons (Python molurus) regulate digestive performance and metabolism with the ingestion of each meal. To explore the python's postprandial responses, we monitored the concentrations of blood micronutrients and homocysteine during fasting and for 15 days after feeding. Plasma folate concentrations peaked with a 270% increase over fasting levels 3 days after feeding, whereas plasma B-12 peaked with a 66% increase within 1 day. Erythrocyte folate concentrations were highest 15 days after feeding with a 44% increase. The major plasma folate was 5-methyltetrahydrofolate during fasting and was non-5-methyltetrahydrofolate during digestion, whereas erythrocytes contained polyglutamyl forms of non-5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Plasma homocysteine concentrations peaked with a 56% increase 3 days after feeding, and were markedly greater than those of mammals. Plasma zinc and copper did not change significantly. Plasma zinc concentrations were 20 times greater than plasma copper and approximately 30 times higher than those of mammals. Pythons showed a significant postprandial decline of 25% in hematocrit. Plasma pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (coenzyme form of vitamin B-6) was not detected probably due to its tight protein binding. Most micronutrient concentrations appear to plateau 3 days after feeding, suggesting that pythons have relatively rapid homeostasis of micronutrients despite the ingestion of large meals.  相似文献

Milanella familiaris n. gen. and n. sp. (Bothriocephalidea: Triaenophoridae) is proposed to accommodate a new cestode from blackfish Centrolophus niger (Gmelin) (Perciformes: Centrolophidae). Milanella is characterized as follows: trapeziform, i.e., markedly craspedote proglottids with a velum-like posterior margin and horn like lateral projections; pyriform uterine sac in the first gravid proglottids; arrow-shaped scolex with well-developed apical disc and prominent posterior margins; strobila with intensively stained corpuscles, most numerous in the anterior part; deeply lobated ovary; absence of a neck; a large, pyriform, thin-walled cirrus-sac with the proximal part bent anteromedially; vagina posterior to the cirrus-sac; and cortical vitelline follicles. Milanella most closely resembles Bathycestus Kuchta and Scholz, 2004, Pistana Campbell and Gartner, 1982, and Probothriocephalus Campbell, 1979, differing mainly in the shape of proglottids and uterine sac.  相似文献

以土法炼锌废弃地的废渣、污染土壤和背景土壤为基质材料,分别种植黑麦草(Lolium perenne)和三叶草(Trifolium pretense),分析各种基质的基本化学特性、重金属(Pb、Zn、Cd)含量及其赋存形态、两种植物生长特性.结果表明,土法炼锌废渣上植被重建的主要限制因子包括高盐碱胁迫、有机质含量低、养分缺乏(TN、碱解N、TK).废渣重金属含量高,有效态含量低,对植物毒性小,但存在潜在危害性.污染土壤重金属含量低于废渣,但生物有效态重金属含量高.污染土壤植被重建的限制因子包括重金属毒性、P和K的有效性.废渣与污染土壤混合是土法炼锌废弃地基质改良的有效途径.  相似文献

1. Activity of glycogen synthase (E.C. 2.4.1.11) in Hymenolepis diminuta (Cestoda: Cyclophyllidea) was investigated as a function of development and with crowding. 2. Synthase activity was low in the anterior and posterior ends of the worms and highest in the pregravid proglottids in the mid-portion of the strobila. 3. The enzyme activity increased during development of the cestode at least up to 15 days postinfection, but the increase in activity apparently was not due to conversion of the inactive to the active form. 4. Mature oncospheres also contained glycogen synthase, but the activity was lower than in strobilar tissues. 5. Synthase I activities and the proportion of total activity in the I form were generally higher in worms from high density (100 worm) infections than in those from low density (10 worm) infections.  相似文献

Macrophages derived from tristetraprolin (TTP)-deficient mice exhibited increased tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) release as a consequence of increased stability of TNFalpha mRNA. TTP was then shown to destabilize TNFalpha mRNA after binding directly to the AU-rich region (ARE) of the 3'-untranslated region of the TNFalpha mRNA. In mammals and in Xenopus, TTP is the prototype of a small family of three known zinc finger proteins containing two CCCH zinc fingers spaced 18 amino acids apart; a fourth more distantly related family member has been identified in Xenopus and fish. We show here that representatives of all four family members were able to bind to the TNFalpha ARE in a cell-free system and, in most cases, promote the breakdown of TNFalpha mRNA in intact cells. Because the primary sequences of these CCCH proteins are most closely related in their tandem zinc finger domains, we tested whether various fragments of TTP that contained both zinc fingers resembled the intact protein in these assays. We found that amino- and carboxyl-terminal truncated forms of TTP, as well as a 77 amino acid fragment that contained both zinc fingers, could bind to the TNFalpha ARE in cell-free cross-linking and gel shift assays. In addition, these truncated forms of TTP could also stimulate the apparent deadenylation and/or breakdown of TNFalpha mRNA in intact cells. Alignments of the tandem zinc finger domains from all four groups of homologous proteins have identified invariant residues as well as group-specific signature amino acids that presumably contribute to ARE binding and protein-specific activities, respectively.  相似文献

The malate dehydrogenase present in the cytoplasmic fraction of plant origin and bacteroids from yellow lupine root nodules was investigated. The plant enzyme was 14 times more active in nodules than in roots and it contained 6 molecular forms in nodules compared with 3 forms detected in roots. The highest malate dehydrogenase activity in plant fraction and bacteroids was noted in 50-day old plants. Changes in the isoenzymatic patterns of malate dehydrogenase in plant fraction and bacteroids accompanying ageing of the lupine root nodules were observed. Possible physiological role of malate pathway in metabolism of lupine root nodules is discussed.  相似文献

The infectivity of Hymenolepis nana eggs from faecal pellets in the rectum of mice was compared with that of the eggs in gravid proglottids of adult H. nana and with that of the eggs in excreted faecal pellets to find out a simple method for collecting H. nana eggs of high infectivity to mice. Eggs from faecal pellets in the rectum showed higher infectivity than those from gravid proglottids and as high infectivity as those from gravid proglottids selected by a watch-glass rotation technique. Eggs in faecal pellets in the rectum did not lose infectivity until 4 h after they were excreted and exposed to the air at room temperature (27-28 degrees C) with relative humidity of 35-40%. However, the eggs lost infectivity significantly 17 h after excretion onwards.  相似文献

Summary The structure of the seminiferous tubules in neonate harp seals, Pagophilus groenlandicus, was essentially similar in one-, five and ten-day old animals. The tubules were small in diameter, devoid of lumina and contained predominantly supportive cells. The interstitial cells in the neonates were large, numerous and highly vacuolated. SUMMARY. Twelve carabao in the Philippines were found to be lightly infected with intestinal amoebae. Trophic forms (12 microns in diameter) of this protozoan possessed a definite ectoplasm and a homogeneous endoplasm. They were found only in stained preparations. The nucleus was similar to that of the cyst. All unconcentrated fecal smears contained at least a few cysts (8 microns in diameter). In these forms the cytoplasm usually contained a large vacuole and one or more irregular chromatoidal bodies. The nucleus (2.6 microns in diameter) possessed a pronounced, deeply staining, uniform peripheral ring and a large irregular endosome. There was no periendosomal ring. This amoeba is designated as Entamoeba bubalus , n.sp.  相似文献

A new species of cestode, Yorkeria xiamenensis n. sp., is described from the spiral valve of Chiloscyllium plagiosum from coastal waters of Xiamen, China. It is the first record of Yorkeria in China. The new species is distinguished from all other species of Yorkeria by its possession of the following characters: the length of specimens, 15.8 mm; 63-95 proglottids; 71-85 testes per proglottid; large medial and lateral hooks in scolex; and eggs with 2 long polar filaments. The new species most closely resembles Y. parva Southwell, 1927 in the follicular vitellaria and similar ratio of lateral-to-medial hooks (1:2.15 vs. 1:2-2.5). However, Y. xiamenensis n. sp. has a longer strobila, more proglottids, a smaller ratio of pedicel to cephalic peduncle, larger hooks, more testes, and a different host.  相似文献

H. diminuta at different stages of development contained as many as five pyruvate kinase isozymes. Four of these were unusually sensitive to allosteric activation by fructose-1,6-P2. One isozyme which occurred only in adults or near-adults was insensitive but had a relatively low Km. All were inhibited by ATP and Ca2+, none by alanine, and the pH optimum was unaffected by fructose-1,6-P2. The five isozymes were present in gravid or reproductively active proglottids. Two of them occurred after eight days growth in the rat intestine, and three after four days. These three were also present in the immature, anterior proglottids of adult parasites. Hexacanth larvae from gravid proglottids, as well as cysticercoids developing from these larvae in Tenebrio molitor, possessed only two isozymes. It was inferred from information on tissue concentrations of ADP, ATP, phosphoenolypyruvate (PEP) and on K0.5S and Km that competition between pyruvate kinase and PEP carboxykinase is probably controlled by fructose-1,6-P2 concentrations. Since H. diminuta is an obligatory fermenter in which gluconeogenesis is minimal, the probable function of its L-type pyruvate kinases is to control the specific composition of lactic, acetic and succinic acid mixtures that are excreted at different stages of development.  相似文献

1. Hepatic proteins isolated from control kennel dogs bound small quantities of zinc and iron and the peptide fraction contained neither metal. 2. Zince loading of kennel dogs stimulated an hepatic uptake of five times more zinc and three times more iron than an equivalent copper load. The increase in metal concentration was noted in the 10,000 dalton protein. 3. Both the 12,000 and 10,000 dalton proteins isolated from kennel dogs contained more binding sites specific for zinc than for either copper or iron. All three proteins isolated from Alaskan Malamutes showed a smaller affinity for zinc than copper or iron. 4. Both copper and zinc loading stimulated an uptake of [14C]glucosamine and [3H]serine from the peptide fraction of control kennel dogs into the 10,000 dalton protein.  相似文献
