花后25d内,大穗型品种豫麦66籽粒中淀粉积累比多穗型品种豫麦49慢,但花后25d后情况则相反。2个品种籽粒中淀粉积累速率的变化均呈单峰曲线,豫麦49峰值出现在花后15~20d,而豫麦66峰值则出现在花后20~25d。灌浆期豫麦66和豫麦49籽粒中蔗糖合成酶(SS)活性变化呈单峰曲线,峰值分别出现在花后20d和15d,整个灌浆期内豫麦66籽粒中SS活性高于豫麦49;2个品种籽粒中腺苷二磷酸葡萄糖焦磷酸化酶(AGPP)和淀粉分支酶(SBE)活性变化均呈单峰曲线,峰值出现在花后20d,而可溶性淀粉合成酶(SSS)活性变化则呈双峰曲线,峰值分别出现在花后10d和20d,且第二个峰值显著高于第一个。相关分析表明,SS、AGPP、SSS和SBE是影响小麦籽粒淀粉积累的关键酶。  相似文献

Florets of Pelargonium x domesticum L. H. Bailey respond to ethylene with rapid petal abscission. Florets become increasingly responsive to ethylene with age, with the greatest change in responsiveness occurring between the day of anthesis and 2 days later. The ethylene responsiveness coefficient (the ratio of the concentrations of ethylene giving 90% and 10% abscission) declined from 21 in 1-day-old florets to slightly greater than 1 in older florets; therefore abscission was ultraresponsive (responsiveness coefficient <81) even in 1-day old florets. Younger florets required a higher concentration of ethylene and longer duration of ethylene exposure to induce the abscission response. Even florets aged 2–3 days after anthesis required at least 40 min of exposure to ethylene for the abscission response to occur, irrespective of the concentration.  相似文献

Opening of Rice Floret in Rapid Response to Methyl Jasmonate   总被引:22,自引:0,他引:22  
Effects of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) on rice floret opening were investigated in seven cultivars or hybrid combinations covering various variety types. Intact or excised panicles, judged to have florets just before anthesis, were soaked in 4 × 10−5− 4 × 10−3M MeJA solutions for 2 min at different temperatures. The results indicated that MeJA significantly induced opening of rice florets within about 30 min, with the most rapid induction occurring just 6 min after treatment. Numbers of induced opening florets are correlated with MeJA concentrations. Higher concentrations of MeJA induced more florets. pH values had no influence on MeJA effect, but MeJA required less time and induced more florets at 34°C than at 25°C. As far as we know, this is the first evidence that floret opening is induced by plant hormones. CO2 evolution from panicles was also increased by MeJA treatment. Field experiments revealed that perfect flowering synchrony between the cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) and restorer lines in hybrid seed production could be obtained by spraying MeJA solution on CMS line plants at the rate of 25 mg/m2. The effects of three temperatures 15, 20, and 25 °C uponinflorescence and seed development in tall fescue (Festuca arundinaceaSchreb) between inflorescence emergence and seed maturity werestudied. Increasing temperature over this range reduced culmlength and the number of florets per spikelet, hastened theonset of anthesis and pollen release, increased relative growth-rateof the florets 9 days after peak anthesis, reduced the periodof seed development and 1000 seed weight No large effects oftemperature upon the percentage of florets setting seed werefound. Seasonal Changes of GA1, GA19 and Abscisic Acid in Three Rice Cultivars   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
The levels of endogenous gibberellin A1 and A19 (GA1 and GA19)and abscisic acid (ABA) in three rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars,Nihonbare (normal), Tan-ginbozu (semid-warf) and Tong-il (semi-dwarf),were measured at various stages of internode elongation andear development. GA19 was the main GA in Nihonbare and Tong-ilthroughout the life cycle but was not detected in Tan-ginbozu.The levels of GA1 in the ears of all three cultivars were lowand reached their maxima after anthesis. Similarly, the earsof all three cultivars contained high ABA levels which peakedafter anthesis. Shoots contained low quantities of ABA throughoutthe life cycle. Wheat, Triticwn aestivum L., the winter cultivars Hobbit andCappelle-Desprez, and the spring cultivars Sicco and KJeiber,were grown in normal air or air enriched with CO2 either outdoorsin a glass-roofed cage or in controlled environment rooms. Inneither the winter nor the spring wheat was growth increaseddue to enrichment with CO2 before anthesis. Enrichment of thetwo winter wheat cultivars increased shoot dry weight significantlyat 15 d after anthesis but produced no significant increasein grain yield. With the spring cultivars there was a significantincrease in shoot dry weight by 18 d after anthesis and thegrain yield was also larger due to an increase in grain size.Shoot weight increased because the stems were larger, and therewas a diversion of assimilate from grain growth to late tillerproduction. Root tissue comprised less than 20% of the totaldry matter at anthesis (for all cultivars); effects of CO2 enrichmenton root growth appeared to be less important than effects onshoot and ear growth. Growth and yield responses to CO2 enrichmentwere observed (for the spring cultivars) at irradiances of both250 and 635 µE m–2 s–1, but the effects weregreater at the lower irradiance. Lines partially-isogenic for the deficiens (VtVt and two-rowed (VV) barley ear types were developed in the genetic background of cv. Kym, for comparisons of ear development and yield components. The suppression of lateral floret growth by the Vt allele during pre-anthesis ear development occurred at a relatively late stage and only occasionally was median floret survival enhanced in the deficiens line. The final size of lateral florets in both deficiens and normal ear types appeared to be largely governed by assimilate supply. At anthesis, the lateral florets comprised about 10% of the dry matter of normal ears, whereas in the deficiens ears the median florets were correspondingly heavier. After anthesis, grain growth in the deficiens line was slower than in the normal line, although final grain weight was not affected. In another experiment the Vt allele occasionally increased the number of grains per ear, but consistently decreased the weight per grain. In drilled plot trials, the mean yield of the deficiens line was 8% lower than the normal. Excision of lateral florets at anthesis showed that photosynthesis in these organs did not contribute to the yield advantage of the normal ear type. It is suggested that the inferior performance of the deficiens type was attributable to the greater physical constriction of endosperm expansion imposed by the development of thicker, more rigid, palea and lemma tissues.  相似文献

Summary. Potassium pyroantimonate precipitation was used to locate loosely bound calcium in rice (Oryza sativa L.) lodicules before and after anthesis, and flowering of panicles was accelerated by treatment with methyl jasmonate. From 1 day to 4 h before anthesis, the number of calcium precipitates in the cell walls and vacuole membranes decreased gradually, whereas they increased remarkably in the cytoplasm and nucleolus. At the beginning of anthesis, the number of calcium granules in lodicules reduced sharply, but there was a large accumulation of flocculent precipitates in the vacuoles. After anthesis, the flocculent precipitates decreased in number until they disappeared, whereas the granular precipitates started to accumulate once again. The rice florets treated with 2 mM methyl jasmonate were induced to open within 10–30 min and they then closed 0.5–1 h later. The nucleolus, cytoplasm, and vacuole membrane of the lodicule cells contained many calcium granules during flowering, although the cell walls lacked calcium. At 1 h after treatment, the number of calcium granules had decreased, while flocculent precipitates were regularly observed in the nondegenerated cells. At 6 h after treatment, calcium grains started to reappear in the cell walls. These changes in calcium precipitates before and after anthesis indicate that the opening and closing of florets correlates with the calcium level in lodicule cells. In addition, excised panicles, with florets judged to be nearing anthesis, were soaked in 2–200 mM EGTA solution for 2 min after treatment with 2 mM methyl jasmonate. The results indicate that EGTA had an antagonistic effect on the methyl jasmonate-induced floret opening in rice. Grain mold is a globally important panicle disease of sorghum [ Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] that occurs between floral anthesis and physiological maturity of the caryopsis. Many fungi, including Fusarium thapsinum , cause grain mold. In this study, sorghum florets of grain mold resistant (Sureno and Tx2911), moderately resistant (SC170), and susceptible (Tx430) cultivars were spray-inoculated with a high density (1 × 106 microconidia/ml) of F. thapsinum at anthesis. Mean caryopsis formation frequencies [CFF = (total caryopses/total spikelets per panicle) × 100] for F. thapsinum -inoculated Sureno and Tx2911 panicles did not significantly differ from their respective controls, however F. thapsinum -inoculated SC170 and Tx430 panicles were significantly less than controls. In addition, CFF was significantly reduced in F. thapsinum -inoculated Tx430 panicles when compared to the F. thapsinum -inoculated grain mold resistant genotypes (P = 0.011). This study suggests that screening of sorghum varieties for caryopsis formation using high-density inoculations at anthesis would provide an additional assay to measure F. thapsinum resistance in the greenhouse.  相似文献

The association between mating systems and dispersal in plants has been studied mostly in cleistogamous species where, generally, seeds produced by cleistogamous (selfed) flowers are less dispersed than seeds produced by chasmogamous (potentially outcrossed) flowers. In heterocarpic Asteraceae, non-dispersing fruits (achenes) are produced at the periphery of the capitulum (outer florets) whereas dispersing achenes are produced by inner florets in the same capitulum. Since all the florets are protandrous, the outer floret developing first are in female phasis when anthesis of inner florets takes place. Thus, outer florets can be potentially selfed by the inner florets of the same capitulum whereas the latter must be pollinated by flowers of other capitula. Therefore outer florets should be more inbred than inner florets. To test this hypothesis, we measured the natural outcrossing rate in outer and inner florets using allozymes in three populations of the heterocarpic Crepis sancta. The results showed that the outcrossing rate was highest for non-dispersed achenes. Moreover, among the outcrossed achenes within a capitulum it was observed that the number of paternal parents of non-dispersing achenes was higher than for dispersing achenes. The pattern observed was therefore the opposite to the pattern of cleistogamous plants and contradicts the putative pollination mechanism we proposed for Asteraceae. The results agree with the predictions of sib competition theory which considers that outcrossing may minimize competitive interactions among relatives (sibs) falling near the mother plant. Higher outcrossing rate in outer florets could also occur because pollinators are more attracted to these florets.  相似文献

SUMMARY: The wheat spikelet meristem differentiates into up to 12 floret primordia, but many of them fail to reach the fertile floret stage at anthesis. We combined microarray, biochemical and anatomical studies to investigate floret development in wheat plants grown in the field under short or long days (short days extended with low-fluence light) after all the spikelets had already differentiated. Long days accelerated spike and floret development and greening, and the expression of genes involved in photosynthesis, photoprotection and carbohydrate metabolism. These changes started while the spike was in the light-depleted environment created by the surrounding leaf sheaths. Cell division ceased in the tissues of distal florets, which interrupted their normal developmental progression and initiated autophagy, thus decreasing the number of fertile florets at anthesis. A massive decrease in the expression of genes involved in cell proliferation, a decrease in soluble carbohydrate levels, and an increase in the expression of genes involved in programmed cell death accompanied anatomical signs of cell death, and these effects were stronger under long days. We propose a model in which developmentally generated sugar starvation triggers floret autophagy, and long days intensify these processes due to the increased carbohydrate consumption caused by the accelerated plant development.  相似文献

The number and developmental stages of florets were determinedin each spikelet of the spike in the main shoots of spring wheat.Samples were taken frequently from plants grown in a phytotronand in a nitrogen application field-test. Ten stages of development,from floret initiation until anthesis, were recognized and described. Inter-spikelet variation in the total number of initiated floretswas rather small. However, the number of florets at advancedstages of development, as well as the number of grains, washighest in the central spikelets in which florets initiatedfirst. Floret initiation did not proceed beyond spike emergence,whereafter the distal florets and the spikelet apex degenerated.Grain-set was restricted to florets which had developed at leastto the stage of visible anther lobes at spike emergence. Some assumptions concerning development in wheat (Triticum aestivum, L.) were examined. These are that (i) the rate of development towards anthesis increases linearly with temperature, (ii) the base temperature is 0°C, (iii) the optimum temperature is above the range at which wheat is normally grown, (iv) base and optimum temperatures do not change with development, and (v) the relationships for different cultivars are similar. We tested these assumptions in studies using a naturally lit phytotron with four cultivars and six temperature regimes between 10 and 25°C. Seedlings were vernalized for 50 d and then grown under a photoperiod of 18 h to avoid confounding the responses to vernalization and photoperiod with those to temperature. In cultivars Sunset and Rosella, the rate of development for the full period to anthesis increased linearly between base and optimum temperatures. However, in cultivars Condor and Cappelle Desprez, a linear fit was not statistically acceptable. For these cultivars, the rate of development towards anthesis increased rapidly with increase in temperature from 10 to 19°C, but temperatures higher than 19°C had little or no fürther accelerating effect. When a linear relationship was fitted by ignoring data for temperatures above 19 7deg;C, base temperatures calculated for the full period to anthesis were c. 5.5, 5.5,4.0 and 2.5°C for Sunset, Condor, Rosella and Cappelle Desprez, respectively (i.e. an average value of c. 4 7deg;C). The full period to anthesis was subdivided into three phases for fürther analysis. These were (i) from the beginning of the experiment to terminal spikelet initiation, (ii) from terminal spikelet initiation to heading, and (iii) from heading to anthesis. When these sub-phases were analysed a linear relationship was found to be appropriate for all combinations of cultivar and developmental phase. However, both base and optimum temperatures calculated from the relationships increased as development progressed from (i) to (iii). Averaging across cultivars, base temperatures for the three phases were -1.9, %1.2 and %8.1°C, respectively, while optimum temperatures were <22, 25 and >25°C, respectively. Cultivars differed substantially in all these parameters. The progressive increase in optimum temperature with phasic development was apparently the main reason why linear fits for the three sub-phases became a curvilinear fit for the full phase to anthesis.  相似文献

The stage of ovule development at anthesis and its relationship with fruit set was studied in several apricot cultivars growing in Mediterranean climatic conditions. Although generally the ovule was immature at anthesis, a great variability was found in the stage of development of the ovules from different cultivars. Considering functional ovules to be those with an embryo sac with at least four nuclei at anthesis, the earliest flowering varieties frequently showed more than 50% of functional ovules. Though these results could suggest that there is an influence of the chilling requirement on the percentage of functional ovules at anthesis, data recorded from two cultivars, ‘Goldrich’ and ‘Colorao’, with high chilling requirements, contrast with this suggestion. These results indicate that in apricot flowers the development of the embryo sac at anthesis is genotype dependent. The fact that a high frequency of functional ovules at anthesis was found, in cultivars with more than 50% of fruit set, suggests that, to be fertilised, a certain level of development of the apricot ovules at this time is necessary.  相似文献

Dry matter accumulation and IAA level of grains in various positions within the wheat ( Triticum aestivum L. cvs Solo and Kolibri) ear were investigated during the grain filling period. Main shoot ears were partitioned into basal, central and apical regions and further into proximal and distal grains. Results from a two-year experiment with two wheat cultivars of different grain size are presented. The IAA level increased rapidly from about 8 until 20 to 30 days after anthesis, and then decreased dependent upon year and cultivar. The differences in IAA levels, both among spikelets in different regions of the ear (i.e. basal, central and apical) and also among florets within a spikelet (i.e. proximal and distal), were positively correlated with the differences in dry matter accumulation. Although the correlations held true within cultivars in a particular year, differences in dry matter between cvs Solo and Kolibri or differences from year to year were not well correlated with the corresponding changes in IAA levels. Possible interactions between dry matter accumulation and IAA levels are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Jasmonates are important phytohormones regulating reproductive development. We used two recessive rice Tos17 alleles of OsJAR1, osjar1-2 and osjar1-3, to study the biological function of jasmonates in rice anthesis. The florets of both osjar1 alleles stayed open during anthesis because the lodicules, which control flower opening in rice, were not withering on time. Furthermore, dehiscence of the anthers filled with viable pollen, was impaired, resulting in lower fertility. In situ hybridization and promoter GUS transgenic analysis confirmed OsJAR1 expression in these floral tissues. Flower opening induced by exogenous applied methyl jasmonate was impaired in osjar1 plants and was restored in a complementation experiment with transgenics expressing a wild type copy of OsJAR1 controlled by a rice actin promoter. Biochemical analysis showed that OsJAR1 encoded an enzyme conjugating jasmonic acid (JA) to at least Ile, Leu, Met, Phe, Trp and Val and both osjar1 alleles had substantial reduction in content of JA-Ile, JA-Leu and JA-Val in florets. We conclude that OsJAR1 is a JA-amino acid synthetase that is required for optimal flower opening and closing and anther dehiscence in rice.  相似文献

选用强筋小麦品种济麦20和弱筋小麦品种山农1391,在大田试验条件下,分别于籽粒灌浆前期(花后6—9 d)、中期(花后16—19 d)和后期(花后26—29 d)对小麦进行弱光照处理,研究了籽粒产量、蛋白质组分及加工品质的变化。灌浆期弱光显著降低小麦籽粒产量,灌浆中期对济麦20和灌浆后期对山农1391的产量降幅最大。弱光处理后,籽粒氮素积累量及氮素收获指数减少。但弱光使籽粒蛋白质含量显著升高,其中灌浆中期弱光升幅最大,原因可能是由于其粒重降低造成的。弱光对可溶性谷蛋白无显著影响,但增加不溶性谷蛋白含量,使谷蛋白聚合指数显著升高,面团形成时间和稳定时间亦升高,籽粒灌浆中、后期弱光对上述指标的影响较前期大。灌浆期短暂的弱光照对改善强筋小麦粉质仪参数有利,但使弱筋小麦变劣;并均伴随籽粒产量的显著降低这一不利影响。  相似文献

In order to detect differences between almond cultivars that commonly produce one or two seeds, we compared ovule sizes and developmental stages at anthesis and three days after anthesis. The results showed that the presence of only small differences in size between primary and secondary ovules during flowering seemed to be a necessary but not sufficient condition for the production of double‐kernelled fruits. In contrast, differences in the developmental stage of both ovules did not prevent the production of double kernels. Large differences in ovule size at anthesis or in the following days resulted in fruits with single seeds. The behaviour of the secondary ovules in cultivars producing fruit with single seeds was very different, even in closely related cultivars. The degeneration of the secondary ovule seems to be genetically programmed and follows a genotype‐dependent pattern.  相似文献

设置不灌水(W0)、底墒水+拔节水(W1)、底墒水+拔节水+开花水(W2)3个灌水处理,采用6个冬小麦(Triticum aestivum.L.)品种,研究了不同品种耗水特性和水分利用效率的差异.结果表明:(1)依据籽粒产量和水分利用效率2个因子,采用聚类分析的方法,将供试品种分为高水分利用效率组(Ⅰ组)、中水分利用效率组(Ⅱ组)和低水分利用效率组(Ⅲ组).同一灌水条件下的籽粒产量,Ⅰ组显著高于Ⅱ组和Ⅲ组;Ⅱ组和Ⅲ组在W0条件下无显著差异,在W1和W2条件下Ⅱ组显著高于Ⅲ组.(2)从Ⅰ组、Ⅱ组、Ⅲ组中分别取1个品种,泰山23、潍麦8号、山农12进一步分析表明,在W0 和W1条件下,泰山23和潍麦8号的阶段耗水量和耗水模系数为开花至成熟>播种至拔节>拔节至开花,山农12为播种至拔节>开花至成熟>拔节至开花.W2条件下,3个品种的阶段耗水量和耗水模系数为开花至成熟>播种至拔节>拔节至开花;播种至拔节和拔节至开花的耗水模系数为泰山23>山农12>潍麦8号,此阶段的耗水量和耗水强度为泰山23品种最高;开花至成熟的耗水模系数为潍麦8号>山农12 >泰山23,此阶段的耗水量和耗水强度为泰山23品种最低.(3) 在W0 和W1条件下,总耗水量和灌水量、降水量及土壤耗水量占总耗水量的百分率为泰山23品种居中;W2条件下,灌水量和降水量占总耗水量的百分率为泰山23>潍麦8号>山农12,土壤耗水量及其占总耗水量的百分率反之,但泰山23的总耗水量最低.(4) 同一灌水条件下,泰山23品种100~200cm土层的土壤耗水量高于潍麦8号,表明该品种能充分利用深层土壤水;山农12品种在W0和W2条件下,100~200 cm土层的土壤耗水量高于泰山23和潍麦8号,但其籽粒产量和水分利用效率显著低于上述两品种.  相似文献
