The present study provides the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of two Ambassid fish species, Parambassis dayi (Bleeker, 1874) and Parambassis thomassi (Day, 1870) from River Pamba in Southern Western Ghats, India. Fishes were collected on a monthly basis between April 2014 to March 2015 using gill nets (1.0–3.0 cm), cast nets (1.0–2.0 cm) and seine nets (1.0 cm). The b values in the LWRs were estimated as 3.01 for P. dayi and 3.14 for P. thomassi. No previous information is available on LWRs for these two species in FishBase. 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) in the present study were determined for three fish species: Collichthys niveatus Jordan & Starks, 1906; Ctenotrypauchen chinensis Steindachner, 1867 and Liparis tanakae (Gilbert & Burke, 1912), collected from Liaodong Bay, Bohai Sea, China using bottom trawl nets from June to August 2014. The b parameters in the fitted LWRs for the three fish species were 2.882, 2.991 and 3.353, respectively. A new maximum total length (15.6 cm) for C. chinensis was recorded. The LWRs for the three fish species are first reported in FishBase. 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) of six finfish species under two families of the order Perciformes collected from Pulicat lagoon (India) are presented in this study. The fish specimens were collected weekly from the catches of shore seine net (with a mesh size of 50mm at the main webbing and 10 mm at the cod end) operated in the lagoon at an average depth of 2.5 m by the local fishermen during the period from July 2018 to April 2019. This study reports the LWRs for five gobiid and one siganid fish species which have no earlier reports on LWRs. The calculated ‘b’ value ranged from 3.538 (Favonigobius reichei) to 2.677 (Oxyurichthys microlepis) and ‘a’ value varied from 0.0041 (Favonigobius reichei) to 0.0199 (Acentrogobius cyanomos). This study also reports the new maximum total length (TLmax) for the gobiid fish species Oxyurichthys microlepis. 相似文献

From February to October 2016, a total of 9,754 fish specimens were collected from the Yiluo River, a tributary of the Yellow River, China's second longest river. Based on these samples, length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) were estimated for 26 species. Among these data, LWRs for 1 species, LLRs for 11 species, and maximum total lengths for six species were not previously recorded in FishBase. The a values of the LWRs varied between 0.0019 and 0.0116, and b values from 2.805 to 3.883. All regressions for LWRs and LLRs were highly significant (p < .001). These results will be useful for sustainable management and conservation of the fish resources in the Yiluo River and the Yellow River ecosystem. 相似文献

This study presents length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for two sympatric species of the subfamily Schizothoracinae (Cyprinidae), Gymnocypris chui and G. scleracanthus, captured in Lake Langcuo in Tibet, China. A total of 193 specimens were collected in June and July of 2014 and 2015 using gill nets of different mesh sizes (mesh size: 2 × 2 cm, 3 × 3 cm). Specimens included 76 G. chui and 117 G. scleracanthus. The values of parameter b in the LWRs equations were estimated as 2.875 for G. chui, and 2.773 for G. scleracanthus, respectively. These are the first LWRs records for the two sympatric species. 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) are presented for 112 freshwater fish species representing 23 families and five orders captured in the Madeira River, the largest white‐water river tributary of the Amazon River. The allometry coefficient (b) of the LWR (Wt = aSLb) ranged from 2.446 to 3.856 with a median value of 3.102. Eight new LWR records are presented for Amazonian species as information for FishBase. LWRs in the present study provide historical data on a and b coefficients prior to the damming of the Madeira River in November 2011, allowing comparison estimates of predicted future population parameters as influenced by human intervention. 相似文献

This study records new maximum lengths and provides length–weight relationships (LWRs) for two small indigenous fishes, Corica soborna (Hamilton, 1822) and Mystus bleekeri (Day, 1877), from the Ganges River in northwestern Bangladesh. Fishes were sampled sporadically using gill nets and cast nets from August 2015 to July 2016. New maximum recorded lengths weere 5.3 cm total length (TL) for C. soborna and 17.7 cm TL for M. bleekeri. The LWRs were highly significant (p < .001) with r2 values >.958. These findings will play a significant role in the fisheries resource management. 相似文献

Length-weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for 11 fish species from the Min River Estuary and its adjacent waters, Fujian Province, China. All samples were collected using gillnets (mesh size 45 mm) and bottom trawls (mesh sizes 45 mm at the main webbing and 25 mm at the cod end) seasonally in 2017 and 2018. The parameters for the LWRs were estimated, along with the basic Statistical analyses for total length and weight ranges as well as the 95% confidence intervals for the intercept (a) and the slope (b) of the regression lines. Further, the coefficient of correlation indicated that the LWRs were highly significant (all r2 > .95, p < .001). This study provides the new maximum total lengths (TLmax) for Coilia grayii (33.0 cm), Johnius taiwanensis (20.9 cm), Johnius trewavasae (22.0 cm) and Cynoglossus sibogae (22.0 cm). 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for eight Asian freshwater fish species that were not yet recorded in any peer‐reviewed journal indexed in the Web of Science or the FishBase database. Fish specimens from Nam Theun 2 reservoir in Lao PDR, were collected from April 2012 to August 2016 using several methods to cover a large size‐spectrum for each species. For LWRs using the general equation from Beckman (1948), the parameter b (slope value on the growth pattern) ranges from 2.908 (Puntius brevis) to 3.429 (Rasbora paviana). This study provides an update in maximum lengths for two species and first LWRs for eight common freshwater species found mainly in reservoirs, and thus represents a means for further population dynamic evolution analyses and local fisheries management. 相似文献
