This study reports weight–length and length–length relationships for selected coastal reef fish species of the Cape Verde Archipelago (tropical north‐eastern Atlantic). Specimens were caught with different types of gear (long‐lines, hand‐lines, purse‐seines and traps) during commercial fishing activities and sampled during fish market operations. A total of 8328 individuals were sampled, representing 29 species from 14 Families. This study provides the first references on weight–length and length–length relationships for five and 23 fish species worldwide, for 10 and 24 species for the Eastern Atlantic and for 12 and 26 species for Cape Verde Archipelago, respectively. Additionally, it provides revised weight–length relationships for 11 species from Cape Verde waters.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships are reported for 18 species of fish and two species of crayfish within the Everglades, FL, USA. This study provides updated relationships for native species, as well as initial relationships for established exotic species in this region. Additionally, 14 length–weight and two length–length relationships are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

The present study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of 13 fish species belonging to eight families that were collected in Rongcheng Bay, March 2009 to December 2014. The r2 values ranged from 0.953 to 0.994 and values of b varied from 2.542 to 3.454. The study also describes the total length – standard length relationships (LLRs) for these fish species. This is the first record of length–weight and length–length relationships for the fish species in this area.  相似文献

This study provides length–weight relationships (LWRs) for 33 fish species sampled with several types of fishing gear in six expeditions between 2010 and 2011, during the dry and wet seasons in the middle and lower Cauca River Basin, Northern Colombia. The report represents the first reference on LWRs for 28 species and also provides the new maximum size for 15 species.  相似文献

This paper provides the length‐weight and length–length relationships for five fish species in the Zigui section of the lower Three Gorges Reservoir of the Yangtze River. Specimens were collected from December 2014 to January 2017, using various types of fishing gear and electroshock fishing techniques. Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for one fish species and Length–length relationships (LLRs) for five fish species are unknown to FishBase. New maximum total lengths for four species were also recorded for FishBase. Moreover, standard‐length to total‐length equations for converting size measurements for these five species are presented.  相似文献

This study reports the length–weight relationship (LWR) and length‐length relationship (LLR) estimated for four fish species inhabiting in Chilika Lake, India. Total 504 specimens were sampled from mono‐filament gill nets (mesh size 12 mm, 22–24 mm, 34–38 mm, 42 mm) during January 2015 to December 2015. The estimated b values from LWR ranged between 2.79 (T. biaculeatus) to 3.29 (C. praeustus). In all species, the relationships between length‐weight and length‐length were highly correlated (p < .05). The study provides first world reports on LWRs and LLRs for all the 4 studied species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are presented for nine fish species from the floodplain lakes in the Central Amazon (Amazon Basin, Brazil). The parameter slope b values in the length–weight relationships ranged from 2.33 to 3.28 for grouped sexes, and from 2.7 to 3.61 for separated sexes. Differences between sexes were verified in three species. Sizes at first sexual maturation ranged from 9.14 to 23.97. This study provides a new reference for the length–weight relationships of six species.  相似文献

This paper provides the length–weight relationships for six fish species collected from the Anning River, one of the biggest tributaries of the Yalong River in China. A total of 1096 specimens belonging to six fish species were analyzed. Among them, the length–weight relationships for 4 fish species are first‐time reports for FishBase and new maximum lengths of one fish species is also reported.  相似文献

This study provides the first report of length–weight relationships (LWRs) for two fish species, Glyptothorax kashmirensis and Crossocheilus diplochilus, collected from the Poonch River, one of the lesser tributaries to the Indus basin in India. New maximum length records are reported for both species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for 35 freshwater fish species from the SP/RJ coastal basin in Brazil are presented in this paper. Fishes were captured between 2011 and 2015 on an irregular basis using electrofishing, sieves, trawl nets, cast nets and fish‐traps. In this study new LWRs are reported for 28 species, plus the total weight and length for 34 and nine species, respectively. The study provides new information on less‐studied species and can serve as a basis for management and conservation in this area.  相似文献

This study describes the length–weight and length–length relationships for three cyprinid species from the Bibi‐Sayyedan River (western Isfahan provinces, Iran). The slope parameter (b) values in the length–weight relationship equations were determined as 3.0729 for Alburnus mossulensis Heckel, 1843; 2.8509 for Barbus lacerta Heckel, 1843; and 3.0864 for Chondrostoma regium (Heckel, 1843). This study presents the first LWR and LLR references for these species in the Bibi‐Sayyedan River.  相似文献

Length‐weight and length‐length relationships were estimated for four native fish species from the Yalong River and its tributaries, China. A total of 976 specimens were collected monthly using trap nets and electric fishing in May 2013 and July 2015 to February 2016. This study presents the first references on LWRs (length–weight relationships) and LLRs (length–length relationships) for three species (Gymnocypris firmispinatus, Paracobitis variegatus and Euchiloglanis kishinouyei). Moreover, maturation length, absolute fecundity and predominant food items for the four species were also described in the study.  相似文献

The present study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for four pelagic fish species belonging to three families sampled with the longline gear from the tropical Northwest Pacific Ocean. The sampling was conducted by the Chinese longline observers from June 2011 to September 2012 and the fishes were captured by commercial pelagic longline fleets. The circular size 4.0 sun‐C‐37 Japanese tuna hook design was used for this fishing operation. Length–weight relationship for one of these species is unknown to Fish Base. Additionally, a new maximum length of one fish species is identified in the study.  相似文献
