Length–weight relationships (LWR) using 3876 individuals were determined for 39 species sampled in estuarine systems in the main Hawaiian Islands, including 33 species of fish from 21 families, five species of crustaceans (prey) from two families, and one mollusk species. For 17 species, LWRs were estimated for the first time. For another 14 species their LWRs were newly reported for Hawaiian waters, including seven introduced taxa that are well established in the islands' estuaries. The LWRs for all taxa include juvenile and sub‐adult size ranges commonly encountered in Hawaiian estuaries. 相似文献

The present study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for 18 estuarine species sampled in Guaratuba Bay, South Brazil. For the majority of these 18 species the LWRs are known from the literature, but these estimates do not consider sexes separately which is done in this contribution. Different fishing gears were used in the samplings (cylindrical nets – 1 mm mesh size, bottom trawls – 250 mm mesh size in the arms and 12 mm mesh size in the bag, beach seine – 5 mm mesh size and hook and line fishery) between September 2007 to April 2014. The specimens were sexed and the LWRs were calculated for each sex separately. There were differences between sexes in growth type, showing the importance of sexing in these studies. We reported for the first time (based on FishBase) the LWRs for two species: Ctenogobius shufeldti and Hypleurochilus fissicornis. 相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were investigated for five fish species occurring in the Nmai Hka River. Fish were collected monthly from five sites between January and May 2009, using five gill nets in the main river and electrofishing in tributaries. The results of LWRs for Bangana devdevi (Hora, 1936), Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977, Amblypharyngodon atkinsonii (Blyth, 1860), Schizothorax meridionalis (Tsao, 1964) and Mystus pulcher (Chaudhuri, 1911) provide basic data useful in fisheries science. All values of parameter b ranging from 2.89 for Bangana devdevi (Hora, 1936) and 3.47 for Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977(in all cases r2 > .951).A new total length has been recorded for Garra qiaojiensis Wu & Yao, 1977 when comparing with records given in the international electronic databank FishBase (Froese & Pauly, 2017). 相似文献

This study estimated the a and b parameters of the length–weight relationships of 15 fishes from the Mira and Caunapí rivers, San Andrés de Tumaco, Nariño, Colombia. The specimens were captured during four samplings periods between 2015 and 2016 using a different a combination of fishing gillnets and electrofishing. The a values ranged from 0.0002 to 0.04 and b values ranged from 2.86 to 3.6. The data presented here are tentative estimates because the fish have been weighted and measured after fixation in formalin and ethanol, however, these data are references for weight‐length relationship for 15 species, the maximum weight for the same 15, and new maximum lengths for 3 species. 相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships for six commercial fishes from southern Korean waters 下载免费PDF全文
Presented are the relationships between total length and weight, and between total length and standard length for six commercial fishes collected twice a month from local fish markets in southern Korea between 2005–2006 for Acanthopagrus schlegelii (Bleeker, 1854), Hexagrammos agrammus (Temminck & Schlegel, 1843) and Hexagrammos otakii (Jordan & Starks, 1895), and monthly in 2004 for Dentex tumifrons (Temminck & Schlegel, 1843), Doederleinia berycoides (Hilgendorf, 1879) and Scomberomorus niphonius (Cuvier, 1832). The LWR for D. tumifrons is estimated for the first time, and a new maximum length was recorded for S. niphonius. All total length and weight relationships were significant (all r2 > .953). The values of exponent b, estimated using simple linear least squares of log‐transformed weight and length data, ranged from 2.945 to 3.317. 相似文献

This report describes the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of 22 freshwater fish species from freshwater western Caribbean drainages in Venezuela. Fishes were collected in dry seasons between 2005 and 2007 with standardized electrofishing from coastal streams of Aroa, Yaracuy and Urama drainages. Results include the first LWR information for ten endemic and threatened species. Novel data on these freshwater fish faunas are important for monitoring their populations, as well as the condition of fluvial habitats to promote strategies for their conservation. 相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for nine fish species occurring in the Nujiang River. Fish were collected using gill nets, including two nets of 1.0 m depth (100 m long; mesh size 0.5 cm), two nets of 1.0 m depth (150 m long; mesh size 2.0 cm) and two nets reaching 1.5 m depth (mesh size 6.0 cm). Gill nets were set over night including different habitats (riffles and pools, vegetated and non vegetated zones) from four sections in July of the following 2 years: 2004 and 2008. The LWRs presented here include for all nine studied species (Pseudexostoma brachysoma Chu, 1979, Creteuchiloglanis gongshanensis [Chu, 1981], Glyptothorax zanaensis Wu, He & Chu, 1981, Glyptothorax dorsalis Vinciguerra, 1890, and Glyptothorax trilineatus Blyth, 1860, Schizothorax gongshanensis Tsao, 1964, Schizothorax meridionalis Tsao, 1964, Placocheilus cryptonemus Cui & Li, 1984, and Schistura longa [Zhu, 1982]), and new maximum standard length of four species not yet reported in the literature. 相似文献
