This study investigates the molecular phylogeny of seven lionfishes of the genera Dendrochirus and Pterois. MP, ML, and NJ phylogenetic analysis based on 964 bp of partial mitochondrial DNA sequences (cytochrome b and 16S rDNA) revealed two main clades: (1) “Pterois” clade (Pterois miles and Pterois volitans), and (2) “Pteropterus–Dendrochirus” clade (remainder of the sampled species). The position of Dendrochirus brachypterus either basal to the main clades or in the “Pteropterus–Dendrochirus” clade cannot be resolved. However, the molecular phylogeny did not support the current separation of the genera Pterois and Dendrochirus. The siblings P. miles and P. volitans are clearly separated and our results support the proposed allopatric or parapatric distribution in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. However, the present analysis cannot reveal if P. miles and P. volitans are separate species or two populations of a single species, because the observed separation in different clades can be either explained by speciation or lineage sorting. Molecular clock estimates for the siblings P. miles and P. volitans suggest a divergence time of 2.4–8.3 mya, which coincide with geological events that created vicariance between populations of the Indian and Pacific Ocean.  相似文献

In consideration of their origin the adaptive strategies of the evergreen species of the Mediterranean maquis were analysed. Rosmarinus officinalis L., Erica arborea L., and Erica multiflora L. had the lowest net photosynthetic rate (PN) in the favourable period [7.8±0.6 mol(CO2) m–2s–1, mean value], the highest PN decrease (on an average 86 % of the maximum) but the highest recovery capacity (>70 % of the maximum) at the first rainfall in September. Cistus incanus L. and Arbutus unedo L. had the highest PN during the favourable period [15.5±5.2 mol(CO2) m–2s–1, mean value], 79 % decrease during drought, and a lower recovery capacity (on an average 54 %). Quercus ilex L., Phillyrea latifolia L., and Pistacia lentiscus L. had an intermediate PN in the favourable period [9.2±1.3 mol(CO2) m–2s–1, mean value], a lower reduction during drought (on an average 63 %), and a range from 62 % (Q. ilex and P. latifolia) to 39 % (P. lentiscus) of recovery capacity. The Mediterranean species had higher decrease in PN and stomatal conductance during drought and a higher recovery capacity than the pre-Mediterranean species. Among the pre-Mediterranean species, P. latifoliahad the best adaptation to long drought periods also by its higher leaf mass per area (LMA) which lowered leaf temperature thus decreasing transpiration rate during drought. Moreover, its leaf longevity determined a more stable leaf biomass during the year. Among the Mediteranean species, R. officinalis was the best adapted species to short drought periods by its ability to rapidly recover. Nevertheless, R. officinalis had the lowest tolerance to high temperatures by its PN dropping below half its maximum value when leaf temperature was over 33.6°C. The forest under-storey herbs Anemone nemorosa, Lamiastrum galeobdolon and Veronica montana are generally considered indicator species of old, broadleaved woodland sites where the soil fertility is often low. In a glasshouse bioassay, however, all three species not only showed large positive growth responses to supplied P concentrations (0–10mgL –1) solutions, but also tolerated high P concentrations (20–40mgL –1), well above those normally found in their natural habitat. Plants responded by raising the concentrations of P in their shoot and root tissues and increasing their biomass, resulting in an increased P uptake. A shade-tolerant competitor species, Urtica dioica, also grew vigorously across the full range of P concentrations, restricting the growth of the woodland species. This emphasises the difficulty of establishing semi-natural woodland vegetation in the presence of competitor species, for example in situations where new woodlands are planted on fertile ex-agricultural soils containing large residual concentrations of P. The influence of soil pH on the growth and nutrient relations of A. nemorosa, L. galeobdolon, V. montana, Poa trivialisandU. dioicawas determined in a separate experiment using an ex-arable soil as the growing medium with pH levels adjusted from 7.4 to 5.8 and 4.3 respectively. Acidifying the soil enhanced growth, but reduced the concentrations of N, P and K in the leaves of all three woodland species, probably due to dilution of these minerals in the increased dry matter production. The competitor species (P. trivialis and U. dioica) responded in similar manner to the woodland indicator species. These results suggest that manipulating soil pH as a means of facilitating the establishment of woodland indicator species in new farm woods is unlikely, in the short term, to be effective where competitor species are present.  相似文献

[目的]为从天敌病原生物方面探索外来入侵植物南美蟛蜞菊的生物防治,对新发现的南美蟛蜞菊霜霉病进行病原鉴定和系统发育分析。[方法]在广东省广州市对南美蟛蜞菊霜霉病的发生及危害情况进行调查,并通过病害症状识别、病原显微形态记录与比较、病原菌及其近似种ITS序列结构比较、LSU序列和ITS序列系统发育分析,对南美蟛蜞菊霜霉病病原进行鉴定和系统发育分析。[结果]南美蟛蜞菊霜霉病在广州零星发生,但该病害在华南农业大学校园内发生较严重,发病率达50%~70%,病情指数为30~35。经鉴定,其病原菌为南美蟛蜞菊单轴霉,是国内一新记录种。基于病原菌LSU序列和ITS序列的系统发育分析显示,侵染菊科植物的单轴霉属菌种聚在一个分枝,亲缘关系密切,与侵染其他不同科寄主植物的单轴霉亲缘关系较远。ITS序列结构比较显示,寄生于菊科向日葵族植物的单轴霉属菌种的ITS2区包含多个重复序列,不同菌种间的ITS2区重复序列相似度不同,说明侵染菊科向日葵簇植物的单轴霉属菌物可细分成多个种,而不是只有向日葵单轴霉。[结论]广州发生的南美蟛蜞菊霜霉病是该寄主上首次正式报道的病害,鉴定的病原菌也是国内一新记录种;寄生在菊科植物上的单轴霉属种类不尽相同,但亲缘关系紧密。  相似文献

Summary. Symbiotic ant species vary in their effects on the same host plant, and some ant species are exploiters. These can destabilise the interaction. The behavioural repertoire of ant associates should be important in determining their effects on the host. We examined several traits of foraging behaviour of two ant species associated with the African understorey tree Leonardoxa africana africana – the protective mutualist Petalomyrmex phylax and the parasite Cataulacus mckeyi – to examine the mechanistic basis of the difference in their effects on the plant. These two ant species displayed significant differences not only in activity rhythms, P. phylax patrolling leaves day and night while C. mckeyi was strictly diurnal, but also in their predatory behaviour (P. phylax killed more herbivores) and recruitment dynamics (C. mckeyi recruited at a lower level). For all traits examined, C. mckeyi expressed behaviours reflecting an opportunistic exploitation of the nectar produced by the host plant, whereas those displayed by P. phylax contribute to conferring effective protection of the host plant. Our results suggest that prey capture may be important as a source of food for Petalomyrmex, in addition to its function in increasing plant-provided resources through protection.Received 27 August 2004; revised 11 November 2004; accepted 16 November 2004.  相似文献

A series of experiments was conducted to examine effects of four strains of the estuarine dinoflagellate, Pfiesteria shumwayae, on the behavior and survival of larval and adult shellfish (bay scallop, Argopecten irradians; eastern oyster, Crassostrea virginica; northern quahogs, Mercenaria mercenaria; green mussels, Perna viridis [adults only]). In separate trials with larvae of A. irradians, C. virginica, and M. mercenaria, an aggressive predatory response of three strains of algal- and fish-fed P. shumwayae was observed (exception, algal-fed strain 1024C). Larval mortality resulted primarily from damage inflicted by physical attack of the flagellated cells, and secondarily from Pfiesteria toxin, as demonstrated in larval C. virginica exposed to P. shumwayae with versus without direct physical contact. Survival of adult shellfish and grazing activity depended upon the species and the cell density, strain, and nutritional history of P. shumwayae. No mortality of the four shellfish species was noted after 24 h of exposure to algal- or fish-fed P. shumwayae (strains 1024C, 1048C, and CCMP2089) in separate trials at ≤5 × 103 cells ml−1, whereas higher densities of fish-fed, but not algal-fed, populations (>7–8 × 103 cells ml−1) induced low (≤15%) but significant mortality. Adults of all four shellfish species sustained >90% mortality when exposed to fish-fed strain 270A1 (8 × 103 cells ml−1). In contrast, adult M. mercenaria and P. viridis exposed to a similar density of fish-fed strain 2172C sustained <15% mortality, and there was no mortality of A. irradians and C. virginica exposed to that strain. In mouse bioassays with tissue homogenates (adductor muscle, mantle, and whole animals) of A. irradians and M. mercenaria that had been exposed to P. shumwayae (three strains, separate trials), mice experienced several minutes of disorientation followed by recovery. Mice injected with tissue extracts from control animals fed cryptomonads showed no response. Grazing rates of adult shellfish on P. shumwayae (mean cell length ±1 standard error [S.E.], 9 ± 1 μm) generally were significantly lower when fed fish-fed (toxic) populations than when fed populations that previously had been maintained on algal prey, and grazing rates were highest with the nontoxic cryptomonad, Storeatula major (cell length 7 ± 1 μm). Abundant cysts of P. shumwayae were found in fecal strands of all shellfish species tested, and ≤45% of the feces produced viable flagellated cells when placed into favorable culture conditions. These findings were supported by a field study wherein fecal strands collected from field-collected adult shellfish (C. virginica, M. mercenaria, and ribbed mussels, Geukensia demissa) were confirmed to contain cysts of P. shumwayae, and these cysts produced fish-killing flagellated populations in standardized fish bioassays. Thus, predatory feeding by flagellated cells of P. shumwayae can adversely affect survival of larval bivalve molluscs, and grazing can be depressed when adult shellfish are fed P. shumwayae. The data suggest that P. shumwayae could affect recruitment of larval shellfish in estuaries and aquaculture facilities; shellfish can be adversely affected via reduced filtration rates; and adult shellfish may be vectors of toxic P. shumwayae when shellfish are transported from one geographic location to another.  相似文献

During the period of 1988–2000, three alien gammarid species, i.e. Gammarus tigrinus Sexton, 1939, Pontogammarus robustoides G. O. Sars, 1894, and Dikerogammarus haemobaphes (Eichwald, 1841) were recorded in the Odra estuary. This study, the first record of G. tigrinus and P. robustoides in Poland, focuses on the distribution, abundance, and biomass as well as on population structure of the three new species found in the coastal zone of the estuary. G. tigrinus and P. robustoides were first sampled in the Szczecin Lagoon (mid-part of the estuary) in 1988. The densities of both species were high from the time they were first recorded and exceeded 10 000 ind. m–2, while the biomass was 25 and 140 g m–2, respectively. G.tigrinus occurred at higher densities in northern and eastern parts of the Lagoon, while P. robustoides was particularly abundant in the south-eastern part, most heavily affected by River Odra discharge. In 1999, the third gammarid, D. haemobaphes, was recorded in the southern part of the estuary. Both in 1999 and 2000, the species was found in qualitative samples (dredge collections of Dreissena polymorpha) taken from the western branch of the river. As estimated from quantitative samples, densities and biomass in the eastern branch were rather low and did not exceed 150 ind. m–2 and 2.7 g m–2, respectively. The Szczecin Lagoon population of G. tigrinus produces at least two generations within a year: a summer one and an overwintering one. The latter is dominated by older and larger specimens. The species may reproduce in the Lagoon from April until November.  相似文献

Traditional classifications of agaric fungi involve gross morphology of their fruit bodies and meiospore print-colour. However, the phylogeny of these fungi and the evolution of their morphological and ecological traits are poorly understood. Phylogenetic analyses have already demonstrated that characters used in traditional classifications of basidiomycetes may be heavily affected by homoplasy, and that non-gilled taxa evolved within the agarics several times. By integrating molecular phylogenetic analyses including domains D1–D3 and D7–D8 of nucLSU rDNA and domains A–C of the RPB1 gene with morphological and chemical data from representative species of 88 genera, we were able to resolve higher groups of agarics. We found that the species with thick-walled and pigmented basidiospores constitute a derived group, and hypothesize that this specific combination of characters represents an evolutionary advantage by increasing the tolerance of the basidiospores to dehydration and solar radiation and so opened up new ecological niches, e.g. the colonization of dung substrates by enabling basidiospores to survive gut passages through herbivores. Our results confirm the validity of basidiospore morphology as a phylogenetic marker in the agarics.  相似文献

Toxicity of Pfiesteria piscicida (strain CAAE #2200) in the presence of fish (juvenile hybrid tilapia, Oreochromis sp., total length 3–6 cm) has been maintained in the laboratory for 19 months by serial transfer of toxic cells using a modified maintenance protocol. Toxicity was re-induced when toxin-producing P. piscicida cells were separated from fish and cultured on algal prey for 50 days and then re-introduced to new tanks containing fish. We confirmed toxicity in a strain of P. shumwayae (strain CAAE #101272). Toxicity to fish was demonstrated in culture filtrates (0.2 μm) derived from cultures of both Pfiesteria spp., however, it was markedly reduced in comparison to unfiltered water. Filtrates retained toxic activity when stored at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Toxicity to fish was retained when filtrates were held at room temperature for 48 h, at 70 °C for 30 min or at 88–92 °C for 2 h. P. piscicida killed all finfish species tested. Grass shrimp (Paleomonetes pugio; adult 2–3 cm), blue crab (Callinectes sapidus; juvenile 4–7 cm) and brine shrimp (Artemia sp.; 18–24 h post-hatch) were unaffected by concentrations of toxin(s) that killed juvenile tilapia in 4–24 h. Ichthyotoxic activity of filtrates from fish-killing cultures and stability of the toxic activity were similar among P. piscicida and P. shumwayae. These results confirm previously reported observations on toxicity of P. piscicidaand P. shumwayae to finfish. We have maintained toxicity in the laboratory for longer periods than have previously been routinely achieved, and we have demonstrated that the toxic activity is heat stable. In contrast to previous studies with other toxic P. piscicida strains, we did not observe toxic activity to blue crabs or other crustaceans.  相似文献

During a survey of bryophilous fungi from boreal and montane habitats in central Alberta, a hitherto undescribed species of Cladophialophora was recovered from Polytrichum juniperinum, Aulacomnium palustre, and Sphagnum fuscum. On potato dextrose agar (PDA) colonies grew slowly, attaining a diameter of 25 mm after 30 d, were dark grey, velvety, radially sulcate, and convolute and cracked at the centre. Micronematous conidiophores gave rise to branched chains of small (1–2 × 8–22 μm), cylindrical to fusiform conidia with truncate, swollen scars at each end. Phylogenies built on the ITS and ribosomal SSU regions indicate the isolates form a monophyletic clade within the family Herpotrichiellaceae (Chaetothyriales) that is composed of two geographically based groups, each with 99 % within-group sequence similarity and 97–98 % between-group sequence similarity. A teleomorph has not been found but would likely be similar to species of Capronia. In vitro inoculation of the isolates onto axenically grown P. juniperinum produced no discernible host symptoms, and host penetration could not be detected using light microscopy. The production of polyphenol oxidases by the fungus and the role of other Cladophialophora species as latent endophytes and saprobes suggest that a potential role for the fungus is the degradation of the polyphenol-rich cell walls of mosses. A dichotomous key to species of the genus Cladophialophora is provided.  相似文献

Nitrogen mineralization, nitrification potentials, pH, total N, C, extractable P and cations were measured in soils under 4-year-old, mono-specific stands of six fast-growing, native tree species, an abandoned pasture, and a 20-year-old secondary forest, as part of a study on the use of indigenous tree species for rehabilitation of soil fertility on degraded pastures at the La Selva Biological Station in the Atlantic humid lowlands of Costa Rica. Soil net nitrification potential rates were higher under two N-fixing, leguminous species,Stryphnodendron microstachyum Poepp. et Endl. (1.1–1.9 mg kg–1 day–1) andDalbergia tucurensis Donn. Smith (0.7–1.5 mg kg–1 day–1), than under the non-N-fixing trees in the plantation,Vochysia guatemalesis Don. Sm.,Vochysia ferruginea Mart,Dipteryx panamensis (Pittier) Record and Mell andHyeronima alchorneoides Fr. Allemao (0.2–0.8 mg kg–1 day–1). Values under the N-fixing trees were comparable to those found in secondary forest. There were no statistically significant differences in soil total N or in other nurtients between the species. Results of pH measurements done before and after incubation did not show any clear evidence of a pH drop attributable to nitrification.  相似文献

The potential of three estuarine macroalgae (Ulvarotundata, Enteromorpa intestinalis andGracilaria gracilis) as biofilters for phosphate ineffluents of a sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) cultivationtank was studied. These seaweeds thrive in Cádiz Bay and were alsoselected because of their economic potential, so that environmental andeconomicadvantages may be achieved by future integrated aquaculture practices in thelocal fish farms. The study was designed to investigate the functioning of Pnutrition of the selected species. Maximum velocity of phosphate uptake (2.86mol PO4 g–1 dry wth–1) was found in U. rotundata.This species also showed the highest affinity for this nutrient. At low flowrates (< 2 volumes d–1), the three species efficientlyfiltered the phosphate dissolved in the waste water, with a minimum efficiencyof 60.7% in U. rotundata. Net phosphate uptake rate wassignificantly affected by the water flow, being greatest at the highest rateassayed (2 volumes d–1). The marked decrease in tissue P shownby the three species during a flow-through experiment suggested that growth wasP limited. However, due to the increase in biomass, total P biomass increasedinthe cultures. A significant correlation was found between growth rates and thenet P biomass gained in the cultures. A three-stage design under low water flow(0.5 volumes d–1) showed that the highest growth rates (up to0.14 d–1) and integrated phosphate uptake rates(up to 5.8 mol PO4 3– g–1dry wt d–1) were found in E.intestinalis in the first stage, with decreasing rates in thefollowing ones. As a result, phosphate become limiting and low increments oreven losses of total P biomass in these stages were found suggesting thatphosphate was excreted from the algae. The results show the potential abilityofthe three species to reduce substantially, at low water flow, the phosphateconcentration in waste waters from a D. labrax cultivationtank, and thus the quality of effluents from intensive aquaculture practices.  相似文献

Various ecophysiological investigations on carnivorous plants in wet soils are presented. Radial oxygen loss from roots of Droseraceae to an anoxic medium was relatively low 0.02 – 0.07 mol(O2) m– 2 s–1 in the apical zone, while values of about one order of magnitude greater were found in both Sarracenia rubra roots and Genlisea violacea traps. Aerobic respiration rates were in the range of 1.6 – 5.6 mol kg–1 (f.m.) s–1 for apical root segments of seven carnivorous plant species and 0.4 – 1.1 mol kg–1 (f.m.) s–1 for Genlisea traps. The rate of anaerobic fermentation in roots of two Drosera species was only 5 – 14 % of the aerobic respiration. Neither 0.2 mM NaN3 nor 0.5 mM KCN influenced respiration rate of roots and traps. In all species, the proportion of cyanide-resistant respiration was high and amounted to 65 – 89 % of the total value. Mean rates of water exudation from excised roots of 12 species ranged between 0.4 – 336 mm 3 kg–1 (f.m.) s–1 with the highest values being found in the Droseraceae. Exudation from roots was insensitive to respiration inhibitors. No significant difference was found between exudation rates from roots growing in situ in anoxic soil and those kept in an aerated aquatic medium. Carnivorous plant roots appear to be physiologically very active and well adapted to endure permanent soil anoxia.  相似文献

From a pool of Medicago truncatula mutants—obtained by gamma-irradiation or ethyl methanesulfonate mutagenesis—impaired in symbiosis with the N-fixing bacterium Sinorhizobium meliloti, new mutants are described and genetically analysed, and for already reported mutants, complementary data are given on their phenotypic and genetic analysis. Phenotypic data relate to nodulation and mycorrhizal phenotypes. Among the five new mutants, three were classified as [Nod+ Fix Myc+] and the mutations were ascribed to two loci, Mtsym20 (TRV43, TRV54) and Mtsym21 (TRV49). For the two other new mutants, one was classified as [Nod–/+ Myc+] with a mutation ascribed to gene Mtsym15 (TRV48), and the other as [Nod Myc-/+] with a mutation ascribed to gene Mtsym16 (TRV58). Genetic analysis of three previously described mutants has shown that [Nod–/+ Myc+] TR74 mutant can be ascribed to gene Mtsym14, and that [Nod–/+ Myc–/+] TR89 and TRV9 mutants are ascribed to gene Mtsym2 (dmi2). Using a detailed analysis of mycorrhizal phenotype, we have observed a delayed typical arbuscular mycorrhizal formation on some mutants that present thick lens-shaped appressoria. This phenotype was called [Myc–/+] and mutants TR25, TR26, TR89, TRV9, P1 and Y6 were reclassified as [Myc–/+]. Mutant P1 was reclassified as [Nod–/+] because of a late nodulation observed on roots of this mutant.  相似文献

Plasmopara penniseti is the sole member of the genus Plasmopara parasitic to Poaceae, after the genus Viennotia had been described to accommodate Plasmopara oplismeni. Morphological, ultrastructural, and molecular phylogenetic data indicate that Plasmopara penniseti is not closely related to the generic type, and it is, therefore, transferred to the newly described genus Poakatesthia. The view that the genera of downy mildews with pyriform to vesicular haustoria (Basidiophora, Benua, Bremia, Paraperonospora, Plasmopara, Plasmoverna, and Protobremia) include species parasitic to Poaceae has to be discarded. All of these genera are apparently restricted to dicotyledonous hosts.  相似文献

The Okinawa woodpecker Sapheopipo noguchii is the rarest extant woodpecker species. The monotypic genus Sapheopipo was considered to be a representative of an old lineage of woodpeckers that led to the Eurasian genera Picus and the Blythipicus–Gecinulus species. This view, based on similarities in color patterns, external morphology and foraging behavior, has been adopted in all major accounts of the family. The alternative view, that this woodpecker may be related to the widespread white-backed woodpecker Dendrocopos leucotos, which evolved distinctive subspecies on other East Asian islands, has not been generally accepted. We analyzed partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cyt b) gene to test these hypotheses. The data suggest that the Okinawa woodpecker is a member of the genus Dendrocopos, with white-backed woodpecker and great spotted woodpecker D. major as close relatives. Color patterns support the genetic results and indicate a closer relationship with the white-backed woodpecker. Consequently, the correct taxonomic designation of the Okinawa woodpecker would be Dendrocopos noguchii (Seebohm in Ibis 5(5):173–182, 1887) in the tribe Campetherini rather than Picini.This revised version was published online in February 2005 with corrections to tables 1 and 2.  相似文献

Biomass and production of two stands with Quercus variabilis Bl. as the dominant species (stands 1 and 3) and one with Q. mongolica Fisch. as the dominant species (stand 2) were investigated in southern Korea. Stands 1 and 3 naturally occurred on sites with southerly aspects while stand 2 naturally occurred on northerly aspects; stand ages were similar for the three stands (36–38 years old). Total above- and belowground biomass including understory vegetation (Mg ha–1) was 108.4 for stand 1, 115.6 for stand 2, and 132.0 for stand 3, respectively. Understory vegetation constituted 17.4% of the total biomass in stand 1 but only 3.7–4.5% in stand 2 and stand 3. Roots constituted 20.1–24.6% of the biomass of the overstory vegetation. Although stand 3 showed the highest total biomass, net production was highest in stand 2 at 12.6 (Mg ha–1 year–1); net production levels for stands 1 and 3 were 11.7 and 11.1 (Mg ha–1 year–1), respectively. It appeared that the differences in site conditions related to aspect influenced the distribution of naturally regenerated oak species within a relatively small area and resulted in differences in biomass and production among the stands.  相似文献

Chaetosphaeria tortuosa is described as the newly discovered teleomorph of Menispora tortuosa, based on specimens from Canada and the Czech Republic, and single spore isolations from both morphs. The fungus produces superficial, more or less globose, papillate, dark brown to black smooth perithecia (200–)220–250 × (220–)230–260 μm. The asci are unitunicate, 8-spored, cylindrical-fusiform, (110–)120–133(–145) × 12–14 with a distinct apical, nonamyloid annulus 1–1.5 μm high, 3.5–4 μm wide. The ascospores are fusiform, 19–24 × 5–6 μm, hyaline, 3-septate, smooth, and 2-seriate in the ascus. The morphology of the teleomorph and anamorph are similar to that of C. ovoidea (anamorph: M. glauca), differing in dimensions of asci and ascospores, and in the disposition and morphology of the phialides of the anamorphs. Six kinorhynchs were found in the stomachs of the Argentine red shrimp, Pleoticus mulleri (Bate, 1888) from the Argentine coast of Patagonia. Three new species are described: Condyloderes storchi n. sp., Pycnophyes argentinensis n. sp. and P. neuhausi n. sp. A fourth species, Kinorhynchus anomalus Lang, 1953 was previously known only from the coast of Chile. This is the third known record of kinorhynchs documented as a food source. Condyloderes storchi, n. sp. is the fourth new species in this genus. It is distinguished by its paradorsal cuspidate spines on segments 7 and 9, lateral accessory and ventrolateral spines on segments 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11. P. argentinensis, n. sp. has nearly equal sternal width for segments 3–11 (about 7% of the trunk length), episternal plates with three distinct areas along the anterior margin, mid-sternal plate with even margin, mid-dorsal spinose protrusions along the terminal borders of segments 11 and 12, and lateral terminal spines 176 μm long, about 21% of trunk length. P. neuhausi, n. sp.has a prominent posterior elongation of the tergal plate of segment 3, uneven lateral margins of the mid-sternal plate, a maximum sternal width at segment 3, no mid-dorsal spinose processes and mid-ventral thickenings on segments 10–12.  相似文献
