Effects of sublethal concentrations (LC25) of six insecticides (imidacloprid, rotenone, fenvalerate, abamectin, pirimicarb and azadirachtin) on fecundity and wing dimorphism of the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), were studied both under laboratory and greenhouse conditions. In the laboratory, aphid reproduction reduced by 44.29% and 54.01% when rotenone and abamectin treatments were applied at sublethal dose, respectively, and sublethal fenvalerate application resulted in markedly lower average reproduction per female per day compared with control. Reproductive duration of aphid treated with abamectin significantly decreased by 44.19%. But in the greenhouse, there were no evident differences in the aphid fecundity and reproductive duration between treatments and control. Life‐table parameters also demonstrated that the six insecticides at sublethal doses did not stimulate the aphid reproductive potential. In the laboratory, after being exposed to sublethal doses of imidacloprid and fenvalerate, the proportions of alate progeny in aphid progeny were significantly higher than that of the control. In the greenhouse, percentages of alate offspring from the mother aphids treated with imidacloprid, fenvalerate and abamectin increased pronouncedly compared with control. Mortality rates of offspring in the nymphal stages from adults treated with insecticides revealed no significant changes between laboratory and greenhouse. The developmental time in days of the offspring varied in all treatments. Mechanisms of insecticide‐induced resurgence are discussed.  相似文献

Toxicity of four insecticides commonly used in rice pest management, chlorpyrifos, dimethoate, carbaryl and carbosulfan, to the fry of common carp was assessed through median lethal concentrations (LC50) and in vivo inhibition of the brain acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme at sublethal concentrations. The 96‐h LC50 values for these four insecticides were determined to be 0.008, 26.11, 7.85 and 0.60 mg L?1 respectively. Exposure of fish to a series of sublethal concentrations (0.5–5% LC50) of each insecticide for 14 days resulted in concentration‐dependent inhibition in AChE activity in comparison with the controls. AChE activity was greatly inhibited in the fish exposed to sublethal concentrations of chlorpyrifos. Upon transfer to insecticide‐free water, AChE activities in fry exposed to 0.5 and 1% LC50 concentrations of carbaryl and carbosulfan were restored to the control level within 7–21 days whereas the fish exposed to chlorpyrifos or dimethoate did not fully recover from the insecticide‐induced anticholinesterase action. Of the four insecticides tested, chlorpyrifos was the most toxic for the fry of common carp. Although dimethoate was least toxic for the fish under acute exposure, the restoration level of normal AChE activity was slower under chronic exposure in comparison with carbaryl and carbosulfan. Hence, the use of carbamates, especially carbaryl, to control insect pests of rice in rice‐cum‐carp culture systems is recommended when considering survival, restoration of the normal AChE activity and stamina of the cultured fish.  相似文献

Earthworms ingest large amounts of soil and therefore are continuously exposed to contaminants through their alimentary surfaces. Additionally, several studies have shown that earthworm skin is a significant route of contaminant uptake as well. In order to determine effects of dimethoate, a broad-spectrum organophosphorous insecticide, two ecologically different earthworm species were used - Eisenia andrei and Octolasion lacteum. Although several studies used soil organisms to investigate the effects of dimethoate, none of these studies included investigations of dimethoate effects on biochemical biomarkers in earthworms. Earthworms were exposed to 0.001, 0.005, 0.01, 0.5 and 1 μg/cm(2) of dimethoate for 24 h, and the activities of acetylcholinesterase, carboxylesterase, catalase and efflux pump were measured. In both earthworm species dimethoate caused significant inhibition of acetylcholinesterase and carboxylesterase activities, however in E. andrei an hormetic effect was evident. Efflux pump activity was inhibited only in E. andrei, and catalase activity was significantly inhibited in both earthworm species. Additionally, responses of earthworm acetylcholinesterase, carboxylesterase and catalase activity to dimethoate were examined through in vitro experiments. Comparison of responses between E. andrei and O. lacteum has shown significant differences, and E. andrei has proved to be less susceptible to dimethoate exposure.  相似文献

The striped lynx spider, Oxyopes salticus Hentz, is found in high abundances in agricultural fields where it forages on many agricultural pests. Pesticides are applied to these fields and can therefore impact these natural pest predators. Researchers have examined the effects of a number of pesticides on this spider and other pest predators, but many of these studies only examine how these pesticides affect mortality. More recently, researchers have begun to examine the sublethal effects of these chemicals. We examined both the lethal and sublethal effects of three common pesticides with the active ingredients bifenthrin, carbaryl and malathion. We found that only malathion significantly reduced the post‐exposure lifespan of these spiders; however, each pesticide had sublethal effects on behaviour. Exposure to malathion reduced jumping, likely an important foraging and escape behaviour. Spiders exposed to bifenthrin spent increased time grooming, which can reduce the time spent performing other important behaviours. Finally, spiders that were exposed to carbaryl surprisingly increased their prey capture rate. We show here that pesticides can not only directly affect the lifespan of the striped lynx spider but that each pesticide can cause different sublethal effects that likely impact the survival and ecology of these important pest predators.  相似文献

Foraging aphid parasitoids,Diaeretiella rapae M'Intosh, were exposed to sublethal doses of the insecticides pirimicarb, permethrin and malathion on brusslls sprouts plants. Observations on wasp distribution over time revealed that wasps spent less time on sprayed plants, relative to controls and, while on these plants, tended to concentrate activity on unsprayed surfaces. For permethrin and malathion, pesticide residues reversed the stereotypic upward foraging pattern of the wasp. Negative consequences of sublethal pesticide doses for parasitoid foraging efficiency are discussed.   相似文献

In vivo effects of two sublethal doses of chlorpyrifos and carbaryl were studied in Procambarus clarkii after 2 and 7 days of exposure, and after pesticide removal. Chlorpyrifos inhibited carboxylesterase activity in a concentration-dependent manner, but acetylcholinesterase was less sensitive. Compared with chlorpyrifos, carbaryl had a less marked effect on esterase activity. The effects of selected pesticides on biotransformation or oxidative stress biomarkers were contradictory. Chlorpyrifos lowered ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD), catalase and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) levels but raised glutathione-S-transferase activity, while carbaryl raised EROD, catalase and glutathione-S-transferase, but lowered glutathione peroxidase and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels. The effects on protein expression patterns depending on pesticide type and the tissue used for analysis were studied in parallel by 2-DE. In gill and nervous tissue about 2000 spots (pI 4–7) were resolved, with quite different expression patterns. Chlorpyrifos altered 72 proteins, mostly in nervous tissue, and carbaryl 35, distributed evenly between organs. Several specific spots were selected as specific protein expression signatures for chlorpyrifos or carbaryl exposure in gills and nervous tissue, respectively.  相似文献

Young animals are more sensitive than adults to the neurotoxic effects of some organophosphorus insecticides. Many investigators attribute this difference in sensitivity to the immaturity of the detoxification capacity of preweanling rats. Chlorpyrifos [O,O-diethylO-(3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl)phosphorothionate] is an organophosphorus insecticide that demonstrates considerable age-related sensitivity. The carboxylesterases are a group of related enzymes that detoxify organophosphorus insecticides by stoichiometrically binding these molecules before they can inhibit acetylcholinesterase. This study presents in vitro and in vivo evidence demonstrating that the carboxylesterases are critical for explaining the age-related sensitivity of chlorpyrifos. The data show that the fetal rat and the postnatal day 17 (PND17) rat pup have fewer molecules of carboxylesterase (less activity), less sensitive molecules of carboxylesterase, and a larger proportion of chlorpyrifos-insensitive molecules of carboxylesterase. An in vitro mixing experiment, using adult striatum as a source of acetylcholinesterase and liver homogenates as a source of carboxylesterase, demonstrates that the adult liver carboxylesterases are superior to the PND17 liver carboxylesterases for detoxifying chlorpyrifos. In the in vivo experiments the time course profiles of carboxylesterase and cholinesterase activity following a maximum tolerated dose of chlorpyrifos also suggest that the carboxylesterases of the PND17 rat were less capable of detoxifying chlorpyrifos. Carboxylesterase activity in the preweanling rat was not as severely inhibited as in the adult, but decrements in cholinesterase activity as a result of chlorpyrifos treatment were comparable. These in vitro and in vivo findings support the previously proffered postulate that the carboxylesterases are critical for determining the age-related sensitivity of chlorpyrifos. In addition, these detailed experiments allow us to propose that the detoxification potential of these enzymes is multifaceted, and depends on the (1) amount of activity (i.e., number of molecules), (2) affinity for the insecticide or metabolite, and (3) amount of carboxylesterase activity that is refractory to inhibition by the insecticide or metabolite.  相似文献

The current rearing technique forErigone atra (Blackwall) andOedothorax apicatus (Blackwall) (Araneae, Erigonidae) was improved. To reduce time spent rearing on live fruit flies the spiders were kept on a culture of the Collembola speciesLepidocyrtus lanuginosus (Gmelin) (Entomobryidae). Side-effects on spiders of two pyrethroid insecticides (fenvalerate and lambda-cyhalothrin) and one carbamate insecticide (pirimicarb) were tested. Sensitivity of adults of both sexes and juveniles to insecticides and their influence on the rate of emergence of spiderlings from cocoons were investigated using topical application, spraying or residual contact. LD50 values for adults ranged from 0.49 to 2.52 ng a.i./spider for lambda-cyhalothrin and from 5.75 to 98.20 ng a.i./spider for fenvalerate. Topical application also resulted in up to a week's delay of web-building. A moving laboratory spraying equipment was used to spray spiders with different insecticide dosages and water volumes. Pyrethroids sprayed onto adults in webs had stronger effects than pyrethroids sprayed onto sitting or walking spiders on the soil surface. Residual contamination caused higher mortality of spiders after contact with lambda-cyhalothrin than fenvalerate. In all tests, males were more susceptible to pyrethroids than females; this difference was related to body weight. Mortality rate was higher forE. atra than forO. apicatus. Both pyrethroids were also toxic to spiderlings. Lambda-cyhalothrin inhibited emergence ofE. atra spiderlings from cocoons. Pirimicarb was harmless to both spider species.  相似文献

Susceptibility of adults and puparia ofSturmiopsis inferens Tns. [Tachinidae, Diptera] to 9 commonly recommended insecticide sprays against sugarcane pests was determined. The chemicals tested as emulsifiable concentrates include lindane 0.1%, endosulfan 0.1%, monocrotophos 0.05%, quinalphos 0.05%, malathion 0.1%, dimethoate 0.1%, cypermethrin 0.01%, fenvalerate 0.01% and decamethrin 0.0014%. Lindane, malathion, dimethoate monocrotophos and quinalphos were highly toxic, while decamethrin had little harmful effect to the adults when exposed for 6 h to filter paper impregnated or sugarcane shoot bits sprayed with the chemicals. However, the insecticides had no harmful effect on the puparia and adult emergence was normal from the puparia sprayed with insecticides. In another study, susceptibility of adults to soil application of lindane EC, carbofuran G, chlorpyriphos G, Sevidol G and whorl application of lindane G, chlorpyriphos G and Sevidol G was tested in pot culture. Except for soil application of lindane EC, all other chemicals had no harmful effect to the adults in pot culture experiment. In a field trial, commonly recommended insecticides against shoot borer,Chilo infuscatellus Snell.viz., soil application of granules of lindane, carbofuran, chlorpyriphos and Sevidol and folia spray of endosulfan did not affect the parasite activity. The aim was to study the effects of dimethoate on enzymatic targets and on the growth of Helix aspersa for different times and modes of exposure under laboratory conditions. Young snails were exposed to increasing dimethoate concentrations in the food (D.exp) or in an artificial substrate (S.exp) for 1, 2, 7 and 14 days. Both acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and carboxylesterase (CaE) activities were measured in the foot of the snails for each concentration and exposure time tested. Growth was evaluated after 7 days of exposure. AChE inhibition, dose-dependent for all lengths of exposure, was stronger in S.exp. AChE was more sensitive than CaE for both modes of exposure. IC50-7 days was 38.3μg g-1 in D.exp and 11.7μg g-1 in S.exp for AChE and was higher than 150 μg g-1 in two exposure modes for CaE. AChE activity decreased from the first day to reach maximum inhibition after 7 days of exposure. As noted for B-esterase activities, growth inhibition was stronger in S.exp and was only significant for AChE inhibition of >90%. The present results show that AChE activity could be used to give early warning of toxic effects of dimethoate in terrestrial gastropods.  相似文献

Both neonicotinoids and pymetrozine are important insecticides and may have the potential to be used in combination with natural enemies in integrated pest management (IPM). However, to determine their compatibility with biological control, it is necessary to examine the side effects of these chemicals on natural enemies. We examined the acute and sublethal effects of four commonly used neonicotinoid insecticides, imidacloprid, dinotefuran, nitenpyram and thiamethoxam, and the pyridine azomethine, pymetrozine, on adults of Trichogramma ostriniae. By analysing acute toxicity and evaluating the safety quotient of these chemicals, we found that thiamethoxam and dinotefuran pose extremely high risks to T. ostriniae, imidacloprid and nitenpyram posed high risks, but pymetrozine was found to have a low risk. In terms of sublethal effects, longevities of female wasps were significantly shortened when they were exposed to residues of dinotefuran. Percentages of ovipositing females decreased significantly after exposure to pymetrozine, thiamethoxam and dinotefuran. Numbers of offspring per female were significantly lower when females were exposed to pymetrozine, dinotefuran or thiamethoxam, compared with control females. Percentages of offspring that emerged as adults were lower when parental females were exposed to either pymetrozine or imidacloprid. Based on the results of the sublethal concentration assay and the acute toxicity bioassay, nitenpyram would be safe for IPM programmes utilising T. ostriniae, and we suggest that T. ostriniae could be released safely after foliar applications of nitenpyram. However, foliar application of imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, dinotefuran or pymetrozine in an agro-ecosystem where T. ostriniae is a predominant biocontrol agent should be carefully evaluated.  相似文献

THE SUBLETHAL EFFECTS OF SYNTHETIC INSECTICIDES ON INSECTS   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
  • 1 The synthetic insecticides have been used in steadily increasing quantities since the Second World War and are non-specific poisons, and so pose the possibility of sublethal effects on wild populations of animals.
  • 2 The organochlorine insecticides in general, and some of the cyclodienes in particular, are usually much more persistent than the organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides, both in the environment and within individual insects.
  • 3 Analyses of samples suggest that traces of the organochlorines are widely dispersed over the entire globe.
  • 4 Although the evidence is incomplete, all of these synthetic insecticides appear to exert their primary toxic lesion by interference with the conduction of impulses in the nervous system.
  • 5 The complete pattern of events that ends in death includes the release of secondary toxins into the blood. These are probably physiologically active compounds, normally present, but liberated in excessive amounts by excessive nervous stimulation.
  • 6 A condition similar to the late, paralytic, stage of insecticidal poisoning can also be produced, in Periplaneta americana, by excessive physical stimulation and there are similarities in the physiological changes caused by both types of stimuli. This suggests that a generalized stress syndrome develops after excessive nervous stimulation. However, this similarity has so far only been demonstrated for this one insect species.
  • 7 Sublethal effects have so far only been looked for cursorily. Interpretation of sublethal effects is sometimes difficult; apparent differences between dosed and control individuals may sometimes be caused by selective mortality of the dosed individuals. Four main types of effect have been found.
  • 8 Latent toxicity, which is evident as a reduction of longevity or of death at particular developmental stages, has been found only with organochlorines, appears to be linked with fat metabolism, and shows clearly that sublethal effects may be produced a long time after acquiring a dose of a persistent insecticide.
  • 9 All types of synthetic insecticide can affect reproductive potential, and may increase or decrease the number of eggs produced. Egg fertility or development of offspring may also be affected. Reductions are sometimes caused directly by inhibition or distortion of ovary development, sometimes indirectly by reduced feeding.
  • 10 The few studies on behaviour have shown that activity may increase, feeding decrease, and the acceptance threshold of sucrose be lowered.
  • 11 DDT induces the formation of more detoxifying microsomal enzyme in Triatoma infestans.
  • 12 I suggest that latent toxicity and some behavioural changes are probably caused by direct effects on the nervous system, but that some of the other results may be secondary effects associated with the stress syndrome. There is also the possibility of direct insecticidal action on other systems.

The influence of two nutritional factors (food quantity and quality) on the responses of a wolf spider, Pardosa prativaga (L.K.), to a high dose of the insecticide dimethoate, was investigated in a fully factorial experimental design. Spider groups with different (good and bad) nutrient balance were created by feeding them fruit flies of either high or low nutrient content for 28 days. Both groups were then split into satiated and 14 days starved subgroups. Each of these was further divided into insecticide treated and control halves. Survivorship and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity measured on the survivors were used as response variables. Survivorship after topical dimethoate exposure (LD50; 48 h) was influenced by spider body weight, nutrient balance, and starvation. Furthermore, AChE activity was significantly inhibited by dimethoate exposure. A significant interaction between nutrient balance, starvation, and dimethoate exposure revealed synergistic effects of starvation and nutrient imbalance on AChE inhibition by dimethoate in surviving spiders. These results show that the tolerance of non-target arthropods to dimethoate may vary depending on the nutritional history of the animal.  相似文献

The toxicity, persistence and effect on parasitism of 10 insecticides, eight fungicides and one acaricide on Trichogrammatoidea armigera Nagaraja, an egg parasitoid of a Helicoverpa armigera (Hb), were investigated in the laboratory and under field conditions. At field recommended dosages, the fungicides oxycarboxin, copperoxychloride, streptomycin sulphate + tetracycline hydrochloride and 2‐bromo‐2‐nitropropane‐1,3‐diol and the acaricide dicofol were safe, while the insecticide phosalone and fungicide tridemorph were moderately toxic to adults. All other insecticides tested, namely dimethoate, fenitrothion, monocrotophos, phosphamidon, endosulfan, cypermethrin, decamethrin, fenvalerate and fluvalinate, and the fungicides carbendazim, methyl thiophenate and carboxin were toxic to adults. A high level of parasitism was recorded for all fungicide treatments and for dicofol and fluvalinate. The larval stage of the parasitoid was more tolerant than other stages. The residual toxicity of all fungicides, and dicofol, did not affect the ability of the parasitoid to parasitize its host, while the insecticides phosalone and fluvalinate were slightly persistent, favouring 44.7% and 49.3% parasitism after 15 days. Residues of dimethoate, decamethrin, cypermethrin, fenvalerate, monocrotophos and phosphanidon were moderately persistent, while fenitrothion and endosulfan were persistent.  相似文献

The overuse of insecticides to control vector insects such as Diaphorina citri Kuwayama in citrus groves has altered the population dynamics of pest mites. Among phytophagous mites, population outbreaks of citrus leprosis mite, Brevipalpus yothersi Baker, have been increasingly intense and frequent in Brazilian citrus groves. Despite the great importance of the B. yothersi mite for citrus production, the lethal and sublethal effects of insecticides on this mite have not yet been studied. Therefore, in this study, the effects of insecticides commonly used for D. citri control on B. yothersi mortality, reproduction, and instantaneous growth rate were assessed. For this, two experiments were carried out, one under controlled conditions and another in a greenhouse. The insecticides tested were beta-cyfluthrin, bifenthrin, buprofezin, chlorpyrifos, dimethoate, pyriproxyfen, and thiamethoxam at 0 (control), 0.0625, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, and twofold the recommended insecticide concentration for D. citri control. The pyriproxyfen insecticide provided high mortality of B. yothersi even at low concentrations. Furthermore, this insecticide negatively interfered with the reproduction of this mite. Beta-cyfluthrin, bifenthrin, buprofezin, chlorpyrifos, dimethoate, and thiamethoxam, in the tested concentrations, showed low impact on citrus leprosis mite. Regarding the reproduction of the mite, no significant increase in fecundity was observed on B. yothersi females exposed to insecticide residues, regardless of the concentration tested. Therefore, the application of these insecticides in the management of pest insects is unlikely to promote an increase in the citrus leprosis mite population.

The egg parasitoid Telenomus busseolae Gahan (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) is one of the most important natural enemies of the Mediterranean corn stem borer, Sesamia nonagrioides Lefebvre (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). The effects of lethal and sublethal concentrations of two commonly used pyrethroids, deltamethrin and cyfluthrin, on emergence, fecundity, longevity, and offspring sex ratio of T. busseolae exposed during different preimaginal stages were studied. The insecticide, the tested concentrations of the insecticide (field-recommended concentration and three dilutions with twofold concentration decreases), and the stage of parasitoid preimaginal development (first and second larval stages and pupae) all significantly influenced the percentage of emergence. Life history parameters of parasitoids exposed to the highest and lowest tested concentrations of the two insecticides (3.0 and 0.375 ml l−1 for cyfluthrin and 0.5 and 0.0625 ml l−1 for deltamethrin) at eight days post-oviposition (pupal stage) were calculated. The intrinsic rate of increase, the total progeny produced, and the net reproductive rate of the parasitoid were all adversely affected by the field-recommended concentrations of at least one insecticide. However, the longevity, the length of the oviposition period, and the offspring sex ratio were unaltered by the two insecticides. The effects of sublethal concentrations of the insecticides, applied at preimaginal stages, on the responses of T. busseolae females to host abdominal scales, were studied in open-arena bioassays. Cyfluthrin altered both the residence time and linear speed of the parasitoid in the host scale-containing areas, whereas deltamethrin had no effect. Our results indicate that, in addition to lethal effects, sublethal effects should also be considered when evaluating insecticide consequences on non-targets.  相似文献

Mosquitoes represent one of the most significant threats to human and veterinary health throughout the world. Consequently, improving strategies for the control of mosquitoes is essential. In the present study, juvenile Culex pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae), the common house mosquito, are chronically exposed to sublethal concentrations of chlorpyrifos (20% of LC50) and imidacloprid (5% of LC50), both separately and as a mixture. Developmental time, the emergence rate of adults and the expression of five selected genes involved in detoxification and resistance to pesticides are assessed. To assess the effects on oviposition choice, gravid females are forced to oviposit into cups containing water with added chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid or a mixture of both. The time required for the development of second‐ and third‐instar larvae is observed to differ significantly between treatments. Adults of C. pipiens fail to emerge from larvae hatched in both imidacloprid and the binary mixture. The expression of the four quantified detoxification genes differs significantly in third‐larval instars exposed to chlorpyrifos and/or imidacloprid compared with controls. Gravid females also fail to lay eggs on water to which either of the insecticides or the binary mixture is added, although they do lay eggs in cups containing water only. Chronic exposure to sublethal concentrations of chlorpyrifos or imidacloprid has significant adverse effects on development and thus the reproductive fitness of C. pipiens and, accordingly, could be used in the population control of these mosquitoes.  相似文献

The control program of codling moth (Cydia pomonella L.) in the Río Negro and Neuquén Valley is intended to neonate larvae. However, adults may be subjected to sublethal pesticide concentrations generating stress which might enhance both mutation rates and activity of the detoxification system. This study assessed the exposure effects of chlorpyrifos on target enzyme and, both detoxifying and antioxidant systems of surviving adults from both a laboratory susceptible strain (LSS) and a field population (FP). The results showed that the FP was as susceptible to chlorpyrifos as the LSS and, both exhibited a similar chlorpyrifos‐inhibitory concentration 50 (IC50) of acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The FP displayed higher carboxylesterase (CarE) and 7‐ethoxycoumarine O‐deethylase (ECOD) activities than LSS. Both LSS and FP showed an increase on CarE activity after the exposure to low‐chlorpyrifos concentrations, followed by enzyme inhibition at higher concentrations. There were no significant differences neither in the activities of glutathione S‐transferases (GST), catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) nor in the reduced glutathione (GSH) content between LSS and FP. We studied the acute toxicity and the sublethal effects, on reproduction and host-killing activity, of four widely used insecticides on the generalist parasitoid Bracon nigricans (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), a natural enemy of the invasive tomato pest, Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae). Laboratory bioassays were conducted applying maximum insecticide label rates at three constant temperatures, 25, 35 and 40°C, considered as regular, high and very high, respectively. Data on female survival and offspring production were used to calculate population growth indexes as a measure of population recovery after pesticide exposure. Spinetoram caused 80% mortality at 25°C and 100% at higher temperatures, while spinosad caused 100% mortality under all temperature regimes. Cyantraniliprole was slightly toxic to B. nigricans adults in terms of acute toxicity at the three temperatures, while it did not cause any sublethal effects in egg-laying and host-killing activities. The interaction between the two tested factors (insecticide and temperature) significantly influenced the number of eggs laid by the parasitoid, which was the lowest in the case of females exposed to chlorantraniliprole at 35°C. Furthermore, significantly lower B. nigricans demographic growth indexes were estimated for all the insecticides under all temperature conditions, with the exception of chlorantraniliprole at 25°C. Our findings highlight an interaction between high temperatures and insecticide exposure, which suggests a need for including natural stressors, such as temperature, in pesticide risk assessments procedures.  相似文献
