Sixty‐nine fish species belonging to 41 genera from 29 families and seven orders were collected during 2006–2007 by otter trawl in Beibu Gulf, northern South China Sea, for analysis of their length‐weight relationships (WLRs). The analysis included 19 species for which no previous WLR estimates were available in FISHBASE.  相似文献

In this study the length–weight (LWR) and length–length relationships (LLR) were carried out for Indus Mahseer, Tor macrolepis, from the Haro River and Nalah Kala, Attock, Pakistan. A total of 118 specimens were used to estimate the relationship parameters. The results of LWR (W = a TLb) from five different sites indicated W = 0.0044 TL3.14, W = 0.0054 TL3.08, W = 0.0059 TL3.21, W = 0.0076 TL3.12, and W = 0.0107 TL2.99, respectively, with an overall value of W = 0.0100 TL2.94. All regressions for LLR were highly significant (P ≤ 0.001), with coefficient of determination (r2) values of > 0.90. All relationships for LWR and LLR were found to be isometric. T. macrolepis is principally a herbivorous bottom feeder, mainly feeding on aquatic plants and algae, supplemented by insects.  相似文献

This study describes the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for Oreochromis niloticus and Notopterus notopterus, collected in 2006 and 2009 respectively from the Indus River, southern Punjab, Pakistan, with W = 0.0393 L2.72 for O. niloticus and W = 0.0121 L2.87 for N. notopterus. Negative allometric growth is indicated for both species.  相似文献

Body length and weight relationships were estimated for sixteen native freshwater fish species (ten Characidae, three Loricariidae, two Heptapteridae and one Astroblepidae, mainly small‐sized fish) collected in the Andean piedmont Hacha River (Caquetá, Colombia) by electrofishing. These are the first length–weight and length–length parameters reported for the species, which are mostly endemic to the Amazonian basin. Maximum lengths in eight of the sixteen studied species are also reported. Knowledge of this biometric data and their relationships can be relevant in the management and conservation of the local fish and fisheries.  相似文献

Length–weight and length–length relationships are reported for 32 fish species belonging to seven families and 26 genera from the Tian‐e‐zhou Oxbow in the middle reach of Yangtze River, near Shishou City, China. The weight (W) ‐ length (L) relationships were estimated using the logarithmic form of the equation W = aLb. The exponent b varied from 2.60 to 3.65 (mean ± SE: 3.12 ± 0.25). The 14 weight–length relationships, 13 length–length relationships, and seven maximum lengths are presented to FishBase for the first time.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were estimated for the first time for seven species of gurnards (Triglidae) based on data collected over the past 27 years in the Adriatic Sea (northeast Mediterranean). Results show significantly different relationships between juveniles and adults (females and males combined) for Aspitrigla cuculus, Eutrigla gurnardus, Chelidonichthys lucerna and Lepidotrigla cavillone. Isometric growth of juveniles is indicated for four species, allometric growth of adults for all species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships are presented for 35 fish species from the Badagry creek, Lagos, Nigeria. The values of the parameter b are within the expected range of 2.5–3.5. No information regarding length‐weight relationships has been reported from Nigeria or documented in FishBase for 13 of the species.  相似文献

In this study the length–weight relationships of nine fish species from Xingkai (Khanka) Lake in China belonging to three families and eight genera were analyzed. A total of 273 specimens were used to estimate the relationship parameters. Four of these species (Chanodichthys dabryi, Hemibarbus maculatus, Tachysurus fulvidraco and Cyprinus carpio haematopterus) had no previous estimations and one maximum length is new to science for inclusion in FishBase.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for 13 species captured in the marshlands of the Doñana National Park (SW Iberian Peninsula). This is the first record of length–weight relationships for two of these species.  相似文献

This paper reports the length–weight relationships of 16 fish species belonging to three families and ten genera from the Tarim River in China. Length–weight relationships for ten fish species were unknown to Fishbase, and new maximum lengths are given for six species. The r2 values ranged from 0.972 to 0.995. Values of b varied from 2.79 to 3.49.  相似文献

This study provides information on length‐weight relationships for 14 marine fish species. Specimens were collected between 2006 and 2010 from the Uruguayan coastal zone (depth < 15 m) in Punta del Diablo, Rocha during a biodiversity monitoring program. This study represents the first reference on length‐weight relationships for two endangered Rajidae species and confirms the presence of the Stellifer rastrifer, whose distribution range has been extended southwards recently.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were estimated for 9 nemacheilian loaches of Iran. Four of these species are endemic to Iran and the L‐W parameters of six species are given for the first time. Significant length‐weight relationships with high correlation coefficient were found for all species. The value of parameter b ranged from 2.81 to 3.12.  相似文献
