Constituents of various wood-rotting basidiomycetes 总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
Phytochemical investigation of n-hexane and methanol extracts of fruiting bodies of the wood-rotting fungi Fomitopsis pinicola. Ganoderma lipsiense, Fomes fomentarius and Gloeophyllum odoratum led to the isolation and identification of several triterpene derivatives and some aromatic compounds derived from lignin. These are the new natural products, namely, pinicolic acid E (16alpha-hydroxy-3-oxolanosta-8,24-dien-21-oic acid) and pinicolol C (3-oxolanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-15alpha,21-diol) from the crust of F. pinicola, ganoderenic acid D [(E)-7beta-hydroxy-3,11,15,23-tetraoxolanosta-8,20(22)-di en-26-oic acid] and ganoderic acid N (7beta,20-dihydroxy-3,11,15,23-tetraoxolanost-8-en-26-oic acid) from G. lipsiense and ergosterol peroxide (5alpha,8alpha-epi-dioxyergost-6-en-3beta-ol) as well as ergost-7-en-3-one from F. fomentarius. From G. odoratum, dehydroeburicoic acid [24-methylene-3-oxolanosta-7,9(11)-dien-21-oic acid], the dimethylacetal of 4,4,14alpha-trimethyl-24-oxo-5alpha-chol-8-en-21-oic acid and some aromatic compounds, of which 1-(4'-methoxyphenyl)-1,2-ethandiol is a new natural product, were isolated. Furthermore, a complete set of 13C NMR data of the steryl esters 3beta-linoleyloxyergosta-7,24(28)-diene, 3beta-linoleyloxyergosta-7,24-diene and 3beta-linoleyloxyergost-7-ene, which could be identified as a mixture in all investigated fungi, could be recorded. It was proved by HPLC and TLC investigations, that the crust on top of the fruiting bodies of F. pinicola consists of lanostane derivatives. 相似文献

A selective medium for growing wood-rotting basidiomycetes is described. The medium is based on a mixture of benomyl and 2-phenylphenol which suppresses the growth of lower fungi and Sistotrema brinkmannii, a basidiomycete of frequent occurrence in timber but one which cannot decay wood. Use of the medium in isolation studies permits a higher recovery of wood-rotting basidiomycete fungi than can be achieved by the use of other selective media. 相似文献

AIMS: The aim of this study was to investigate the biosorption of copper to the pellets of different wood-rotting fungal species. METHODS AND RESULTS: Copper sorption was studied in both batch and column arrangements. The optimum pH for copper sorption was between 3.5 and 4. In 100 mg l(-1) Cu (II), maximum qe values were found for Oudemansiella mucida (8.77 mg g(-1) dry wt), Lepista nuda (6.29 mg g(-1)), Pycnoporus cinnabarinus (5.08 mg g(-1)) and Pleurotus ostreatus (4.77 mg g(-1)). Both biomass yield and specific sorption were influenced by the composition of the fermentation broth. The results of column experiments showed that mycelial pellets of wood-rotting fungi can be considered as promising biosorbent material. CONCLUSIONS: Pellets of wood-rotting fungi showed the same or better copper sorption properties as those previously reported for lower fungi or filamentous bacteria, as well as good mechanical properties. 相似文献

Mercury, cadmium and cobalt were found to be the most toxic heavy metals, inducing strong growth inhibition of the tested
basidiomycetes. The studied species differed significantly in their sensitivity to cadmium. The most sensitive fungus,Inonotus obliquus, did not grow at Cd concentrations higher than 0.1 mmol/L, whereasStereum hirsutum grew at more than 2 mmol Cd/L. Changes in mycelial morphology were observed inS. hirsutum andTrametes versicolor cultivated in the presence of cadmium and mercury. The toxicity of heavy metals was lower in rich, complex media.

Seventy-five fungal strains from different groups of basidiomycetes, newly isolated from rotten wood, were screened for pectinolytic activity. Despite the fact that basidiomycetes are scarcely referred to as pectinase producers, the polygalacturonase (PG) activity was detected in 76% of the strains; 16% with activity higher than 40 nkat/g, 40% between 13.3 and 40 nkat/g, and 44% with activity lower than 13.3 nkat/g. The highest productions were obtained among the fungi from order Aphyllophorales, family Polyporaceae. The characterization of the enzymes from the highest PG producers (Lentinus sp., Gloeophyllum striatum, Pycnoporus sanguineus, Schizophyllum commune) showed optimum temperature for catalytic activity at 60-70 degrees C and two peaks of pH optimum (3.5-4.5 and 8.5-9.5). The enzymes exhibited high pH stability (3.0-11.0) but after incubation at 40 degrees C for 1 h their activity dropped by 18-73%. 相似文献

Abstract: The possible roles of oxalic acid, veratryl alcohol, and manganese were investigated in relation to lignin biodegradation by white-rot basidiomycetes. Oxalate inhibited both lignin peroxidase (LiP) and manganese-peroxidase (MnP). and was decarboxylated by the mediation of veratryl alcohol and Mn. Oxalate was shown to regulate the mineralization of lignin in the in vivo system of Phanerochaete chrysosporium . In the brown-rot wood decay process, oxalic acid may serve as an acid catalyst as well as an electron donor for the Fenton reaction, to breakdown cellulose and hemicellulose. Oxaloacetase and glyoxylate oxidase may play a key role in production of oxalic acid by white-rot and brown-rot basidiomycetes such as Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Coriolus versicolor and Tyromyces palustris . A possible role of oxalate metabolism is discussed in relation to the physiology of wood-rotting fungi. 相似文献

Abstract The mycorrhizal fungi Amanita muscaria, Paxillus involutus, Hymenoscyphus ericae, Pisolithus tinctorius, Rhizopogon roseolus , and Suillus bovinus oxidized elemental sulphur to thiosulphate and sulphate in vitro. In some, but not all cases, tetrathionate was also formed. Limited oxidation of elemental sulphur by R. roseolus also occurred when growing in association with Pinus contorta in unsterilized peat. Although yeasts capable of oxidizing sulphur could not be isolated from a wide range of soils, a yeast-like fungus ( Monilia sp.) isolated from deciduous woodland soil oxidized elemental sulphur to sulphate, forming thiosulphate, but not tetrathionate. This fungus also oxidized tetrathionate to sulphate but showed only limited ability to oxidize thiosulphate to tetrathionate. Both Aspergillus niger and Trichoderma harzianum oxidized elemental sulphur in mixed culture with Mucor flavus . Larger amounts of sulphate were initially formed in mixed, compared to single culture; but by week 5 of the incubation period sulphate formation was greatest in single culture. The wood-rotting fungi, Hypholoma fasciculare and Phanerochaete velutina showed a limited ability to oxidize elemental sulphur in vitro but were incapable of oxidizing the element when growing as mycelial cords in non-sterilized soils. The relevance of these results to the possibility that fungi play a role in sulphur oxidation in soils is commented upon. 相似文献

Summary Certain volatile organic acids stimulated the growth of Stereum sanguinolentum when added through the gas phase or to the liquid nutrient medium. Some of the acids were identified in extract of heat-treated wood of pine (Pinus silvestris), which had been shown (Suolahti, 1951) to have a growth-promoting effect on Stereum sanguinolentum and other wood-rotting fungi. The effect of volatile materials from a heat-treated piece of pine-wood and of caproic acid was tested on 13 other wood-rotting fungi. The growth of 11 of them was stimulated by volatiles from pine-wood, only 2 by caproic acid. The morphology of Coniophora cerebella was altered when volatiles from a neutral fraction of pine-wood extract was added through the gas phase. 相似文献

The ability of two wood-decay basidiomycetes to produce extracellular mucilaginous material (ECMM) and its relationship with total biomass production has been investigated. Growth and ECMM production by the white-rot fungus Coriolus versicolor and the brown-rot fungus Gloeophyllum trabeum were assessed in liquid culture under different nutritional and environmental conditions. Nutritional, pH and temperature factors all influenced significantly the proportion of ECMM in the total biomass produced. When total biomass production was reduced due to unfavorable growth conditions (stress), the proportion of ECMM in the biomass was elevated. The results are discussed with regard to the possible role(s) of ECMM in the responses of these fungi to stress. 相似文献

Volatile constituents of Aristolochia argentina 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The essential oils from leaves, aerial stems and underground organs of Aristolochia argentina Gris., a medicinal plant popularly known as "charrúa", were obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Forty-three components were identified in the oils. All parts of the plant afforded volatile oils characterized by high levels of argentilactone (57-89%) and the presence of undecatriene isomers (0.3-4.0%), these latter compounds providing the essential oils and extracts with an intense particular odor. Terpenes account for the remaining portion of the essential oils (5-29%). Bicyclogermacrene predominates in the aerial parts of the plant, whereas ishwarane is the main terpene of the subterranean organs. Argentilactone, a suspected carcinogenic compound, was also identified in a medicinal commercial tincture of A. argentina. 相似文献

The volatile oil of Artemisia arbuscula arbuscula contained a new irregular monoterpene, 2,5-dimethyl-4-vinyl-1,5-hexadiene-3-ol (isolyratol), which was isolated and identified by spectral means. The optically pure furanoid (2S,5S)-trans-5-methyl-5-vinyltetrahydrofur-2-yl methyl ketone (arbusculone), was also characterized by transformation to known (2S,5S)-trans-linalyl oxide. The former component has never been isolated from natural sources prior to this study. The neutral pentane extract also contained several previously characterized non-head-to-tail monoterpenes including artemiseole, artemisia ketone, artemisyl acetate, methyl santolinate, and santolina triene, as well as the regular monoterpenes 1,8-cineole, camphor, p-cymene, camphene and the C6 fragment, terelactone. 相似文献

When the distillable oil from adult boll weevils, Anthonomus grandis, of both sexes was investigated with an integrated gas chromatographymass spectrometry system, evidence was obtained for a number of mono- and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons and some substituted anilines including o-toluidine; for some C5 and C6 alcohols and monoterpene alcohols; and for at least one sesquiterpene alcohol. The major components were a series of alkanes, alkenes, and alkyl alcohols of high molecular weight. This investigation was part of a study made to identify possible additional components of the pheromone produced by the boll weevil. 相似文献

The aroma volatiles of a desert parsley were analysed using routine procedures, and 45 constituents were positively identified, including 11 not previously reported as parsley leaf volatiles. One component, 2-(p-tolyl)propan-2-ol, is a new aroma volatile and, together with p-mentha- 1,3,8-triene, may be unique to parsley. Major constituents of the sample were 4-methoxy-6-(prop-2-enyl)benzo-1,3-dioxolan (myristicin) 4,7-dimethoxy-5-(prop-2-enyl)benzo-1,3 dioxolan (apiole), β-phellandrene, p-mentha-1,3,8-triene and 4-isopropenyl-1-methylbenzene. Aroma assessments during GC showed that apiole, in particular, had desirable parsley odour character. 相似文献

Volatile chemicals obtained from the leaves of parsley, Petroselinum sativum by steam distillation, isopentane extraction, and head-space analysis were identified by GLC-MS. The presence in leaf oil of α-pinene, β-pinene, myrcene, β-phellandrene, trans-β-ocimene, γ-terpinene, 1-methyl-4-isopropenyl benzene, and 1,3,8-p-menthatriene as shown by earlier investigators was confirmed. In the present studies, the number of volatile chemicals detected in the leaves was extended by an additional 42. Sniffing tests of effluent from a gas chromatograph of a concentrate from parsley leaves showed that 1,3,8-p-menthatriene was only one of several compounds that gave a parsley-like aroma. 相似文献
