It has been established that stimulation of the structures of the limbic system (hippocampus, amygdaloid complex, septum) and the medial nucleic of the thalamus of rabbits in conditions of free behavior elicits four basic types of behavioral reactions: arousal, orientation-investigatory, aggressive-defensive and various epileptiform (convulsive) reactions. Activation of behavior, i.e., arousal and the orientation-investigatory reaction, constantly appear on stimulation of the unspecific thalamic nuclei. The aggressive-defense reaction is elicited by stimulating the nuclei of the amygdaloid complex of the ventral part of the hippocampus and the ventromedial nuclei of the thalamus. The epileptiform reactions are most readily reproduced on stimulation of the amygdaloid complex and the ventral part of the hippocampus. The threshold for the appearance of discharges of the aftereffect is very low. The latter are more sustained on stimulation of the basolateral part of the amygdala and the ventral part of the hippocampus. In rabbits as compared with higher animals the discharges on stimulation rapidly spread not only to the limbic system but also to the reticular formation and the neocortex.Kharkov Medical Institute. Emotional rage and fear were found to destroy the differential inhibition and the short-term memory in cats. Stelazine, haloperidol, amitriptyline, imizine, chlordiazepoxide, diazepan and benactyzine prevented these disturbances. Chlorpromazine, as well as stelazine and haloperidol in high doses, enhanced these disturbances. The tranquillizers and the antidepressants normalized the higher nervous activity at a greater dose range than neuroleptics and were more preferable for the elimination of the negative consequences of the strong emotional reactions. 相似文献

The characteristics of formation and achievement of motor conditioned reactions were studied in seventeen dogs before and after the lesion of head or body of the caudate nucleus. It has been shown that the degree of higher nervous activity disturbances depends on the localization of injuries in the nucleus, and on the complexity of the tests used. The caudate nucleus exerts a modulating effect on the parameters of motor conditioned reflexes and takes a direct part in the structure of delayed reflexes. Lesion of the caudate nucleus body is attended with more serious disturbances of higher nervous activity than lesion of its head. 相似文献

In the chick, as soon as hatching, the responses recorded in various areas in the "accessorius hyperstriatum" (Wulst) seem to be very localized in relation with the stimulated region of the contralateral tectum. Very similar results are obtained within the other striate structures. These observations suggest in first part, that the tectal efferents project very diffusely to various striate structures and, in other part, that it exists in these a rather precise tectotopy and a columnar organisation.
