Hallucinogenic Mushrooms in Mexico: An Overview. Psilocybe, with 53 known hallucinogenic species in Mexico, is the most important and diverse group of sacred mushrooms used by Mexican indigenous cultures. Psilocybe caerulescens, known by the present-day Nahuatl Indians as teotlaquilnanácatl, is hypothesized to be the ceremonially-used teonanácatl mushroom cited by Sahagún in the 16th century, the true identity of which has remained obscure for centuries. Correcting a widely disseminated error derived from early published information on Mexican hallucinogenic mushrooms, emphasis is placed on the fact that Panaeolus species have never been used traditionally in Mexico. Reports of the use of species of Amanita, Clavaria, Conocybe, Cordyceps, Dictyophora, Elaphomyces, Gomphus, Lycoperdon, Psathyrella, and Stropharia as sacred or narcotic mushrooms are discussed. A brief history of the discovery of hallucinogenic mushrooms in Mexico is presented, as well as notes on their taxonomy, distribution, and traditional use in Mexico.
Hongos Alucinógenos en México: Historia, Taxonomia, Distribución Geográfica y Uso Tradicional. Psilocybe, con 53 especies alucinógenas conocidas en México, es el grupo más importante y más diverso de hongos sagrados usados por las culturas indígenas mexicanas. Se propone aquí que Psilocybe caerulescens, nombrado por los nahuatls de hoy día teotlaquilnanácatl, es el hongo ceremonial teonanácatl citado por Sahagún en el siglo XVI, cuya identidad verdadera permanece oscura desde hace siglos. A fin de corregir un error muy diseminado derivado de los primeros datos publicados sobre los hongos alucinógenos mexicanos, se hará hincapié en el hecho de que las especies Paneolus nunca han sido usadas tradicionalmente en México. Se discutirán aquí informes sobre el uso de especies de Amanita, Clavaria, Conocybe, Cordyceps, Dictyophora, Elaphomyces, Gomphus, Lycoperdon, Psathyrella y Stropharia como hongos sagrados o narcóticos, y se presentará también una breve historia del descubrimiento de hongos alucinógenos en México, como también algunos datos sobre su taxonomía, su distribución, y su uso tradicional en México.

裸盖菇属(Psilocybe)的许多真菌含有神经致幻型毒素,这些毒素被中国卫生部列为A类管制药品。在药检时,这些真菌样品通常是粉末。因此,仅依靠形态分类鉴定该类真菌非常困难。研究采用ITS序列分析的方法鉴定该类真菌并初步探讨了该属种间的系统发育关系。由系统发育树推断Psilocybe属可能是多源进化的。通过序列分析可以鉴定真菌样品为Psilocybe属。  相似文献

Therapeutic use of psilocybin has become a focus of recent international research, with preliminary data showing promise to address a range of treatment-resistant mental health conditions. However, use of psilocybin as a healing entheogen has a long history through traditional consumption of mushrooms from the genus Psilocybe. The forthcoming adoption of new psilocybin-assisted therapeutic practices necessitates identification of preferred sources of psilocybin; consequently, comprehensive understanding of psilocybin-containing fungi is fundamental to consumer safety. Here we examine psilocybin producing fungi, discuss their biology, diversity, and ethnomycological uses. We also review recent work focused on elucidation of psilocybin biosynthetic production pathways, especially those from the genus Psilocybe, and their evolutionary history. Current research on psilocybin therapies is discussed, and recommendations for necessary future mycological research are outlined.  相似文献

Psilocybe argentipes is a hallucinogenic mushroom. The present study examined the effects of P. argentipes on marble-burying behavior, which is considered an animal model of obsessive-compulsive disorder. P. argentipes significantly inhibited marble-burying behavior without affecting locomotor activity as compared with the same dose of authentic psilocybin. These findings suggest that P. argentipes would be efficient in clinical obsessive-compulsive disorder therapy.  相似文献

The Edible Mushrooms of Madagascar: An Evolving Enigma. This paper on the most significant edible wild mushrooms of Madagascar is organized in the following four categories: (1) mushrooms of introduced eucalypt plantations, (2) mushrooms of introduced pine plantations, (3) mushrooms of native forests and woodlands, and (4) mushrooms found in fields, agricultural waste and other altered, non–forest habitats. Eucalyptus robusta plantations yield by far the bulk of edible mushrooms that are sold, especially species of Russula and Cantharellus. Some Suillus species of northern hemisphere origin have been introduced with pine plantations and are locally important, forming the basis of a small canning industry. In native woodland areas on the central plateau, several ectomycorrhizal mushrooms—very similar to those on the African mainland—are collected and consumed. With the exception of the widely marketed Cantharellus platyphyllus ssp. bojeriensis, these are only of local importance in the villages and smaller markets of the area. Denser forests in the mountains or on the east coast as well as manmade habitats such as fields, pastures, and agricultural wastes are searched for saprobic mushrooms of various types. Some of these saprobic mushrooms show considerable potential for cultivation. The variety of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms found in eucalypt plantations is unprecedented outside of Australia and, for the most part, do not appear to be of Australian origin. Possible reasons for this are briefly discussed. Two economically important species, Russula prolifica sp. nov. and R. edulis sp. nov., are newly described.  相似文献

Bark of Virola sebifera used in the preparation of hallucinogenic snuffs and drinks in Venezuela has yielded N-methyl-N-formyltryptamine and N-methyl-N-acetyltryptamine, which exist in two rotameric forms reflecting hindered rotation around the carbon—nitrogen bond of the amide function. They were detected by HPLC as well as NMR. 2-Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-β-carboline, N,N-dimethyltryptamine, its oxide and N-monomethyltryptamine were also identified.  相似文献

A capillary zone electrophoretic (CZE) method was developed for the rapid determination of psilocybin in Psilocybe semilanceata. Following a simple two step extraction with 3.0+2.0 ml methanol, the hallucinogenic compound was effectively separated from matrix components by CZE utilizing a 10 mM borate–phosphate running buffer adjusted to pH 11.5. The identity of psilocybin was confirmed by migration time information and by UV spectra, while quantitation was accomplished utilizing barbital as internal standard. The calibration curve for psilocybin was linear within 0.01–1 mg/ml, while intra-day and inter-day variations of quantitative data were 0.5 and 2.5% R.S.D., respectively. In addition to psilocybin, the method was also suitable for the determination of the structurally related compound baeocystin.  相似文献

Psilocybin is a tryptamine-derived psychoactive alkaloid found mainly in the fungal genus Psilocybe, among others, and is the active ingredient in so-called “magic mushrooms”. Although its notoriety originates from its psychotropic properties and popular use as a recreational drug, clinical trials have recently recognized psilocybin as a promising candidate for the treatment of various psychological and neurological afflictions. In this work, we demonstrate the de novo biosynthetic production of psilocybin and related tryptamine derivatives in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by expression of a heterologous biosynthesis pathway sourced from Psilocybe cubensis. Additionally, we achieve improved product titers by supplementing the pathway with a novel cytochrome P450 reductase from P. cubensis. Further rational engineering resulted in a final production strain producing 627 ± 140 mg/L of psilocybin and 580 ± 276 mg/L of the dephosphorylated degradation product psilocin in triplicate controlled fed-batch fermentations in minimal synthetic media. Pathway intermediates baeocystin, nor norbaeocystin as well the dephosphorylated baeocystin degradation product norpsilocin were also detected in strains engineered for psilocybin production. We also demonstrate the biosynthetic production of natural tryptamine derivative aeruginascin as well as the production of a new-to-nature tryptamine derivative N-acetyl-4-hydroxytryptamine. These results lay the foundation for the biotechnological production of psilocybin in a controlled environment for pharmaceutical applications, and provide a starting point for the biosynthetic production of other tryptamine derivatives of therapeutic relevance.  相似文献

报道枝顶孢霉Acremonium strictum对毒光盖伞Psilocybe venenata子实体形成的影响。拮抗试验结果表明它们之间存在着较弱的干扰竞争作用;人工培养时,毒光盖伞混合菌株产生大型、小型和畸形3种类型的子实体,推测毒光盖伞畸形子实体的形成可能是枝顶孢霉寄生的结果,为毒光盖伞的人工栽培和进一步合理利用、野生蕈菌的驯化提供了理论依据。  相似文献

通过观察吉林农业大学菌物研究所标本馆(HMJAU)、中国科学院微生物研究所菌物标本馆(HMAS)、广东省微生物研究所标本馆(HMIGD)及作者野外采集的共37份标本的宏观及微观形态结构,对中国裸盖菇属[Psilocybe(Fr.)Kumm.]进行了分类学研究,对已知的10个种进行了形态学描述,并编写了分种检索表。报道了采自内蒙古的1个新种:蒙古裸盖菇(Psilocybe mongolica Sarentoya et Tolgor);3个中国新记录种:鳞柄裸盖菇(Psilocybe baeocystis Singer & Smith)、拟变蓝裸盖菇(Psilocybe wayanadensis K.A.Thomas,Manim & Guzmán)、越南裸盖菇(Psilocybe yungensis Singer & Smith);4个省级新记录种:内蒙古新记录种喜粪生裸盖菇[Psilocybe coprophila(Bull.ex Fr.)Kumm.]、广东省新记录种古巴裸盖菇[Psilocybe cubensis(Earle)Sing.]、广西省新记录种黄裸盖菇(Psilocybe fasciata Hongo)和西藏新记录种毒裸盖菇[Psilocybe venenata(Imai)Imazeki & Hongo]。  相似文献

Amanita ponderosa are wild edible mushrooms that grow only in some microclimates, particularly those in the southwestern part of the Iberian Peninsula. Due to the vast diversity of mushrooms in nature, as well as nutrient variability, which is highly dependent on soil type and environmental conditions, it is essential to be able to characterize fungal microbiota that lives in association with mushrooms and to differentiate A. ponderosa strains of different regions for certification purposes. In this study, we characterized the genetic profile of A. ponderosa mushrooms and the fungal strains that live in association with them in their natural habitat and compared the fingerprinting profiles obtained by M13-PCR amplification of the genomic DNA. We found that the predominant fungal isolates living in association with A. ponderosa were Aspergillus spp., Penicillium spp. and Mucor spp. M13-PCR molecular analysis showed that different fungal isolates had different genetic profiles. This approach allowed us to differentiate the different fungi strains isolated from fruiting bodies of A. ponderosa both rapidly and in a reproducible manner and to group them according to genus. Our fingerprinting analyses also distinguished different A. ponderosa mushrooms collected from different regions. Consequently, we conclude that this method is a very discriminatory approach for differentiating both A. ponderosa from different sites and the fungal microbiota that lives in association with these mushrooms.  相似文献

This article reviews and updates data on macro and trace elements and radionuclides in edible wild-grown and cultivated mushrooms. A huge biodiversity of mushrooms and spread of certain species over different continents makes the study on their multi-element constituents highly challenging. A few edible mushrooms are widely cultivated and efforts are on to employ them (largely Agaricus spp., Pleurotus spp., and Lentinula edodes) in the production of selenium-enriched food (mushrooms) or nutraceuticals (by using mycelia) and less on species used by traditional medicine, e.g., Ganoderma lucidum. There are also attempts to enrich mushrooms with other elements than Se and a good example is enrichment with lithium. Since minerals of nutritional value are common constituents of mushrooms collected from natural habitats, the problem is however their co-occurrence with some hazardous elements including Cd, Pb, Hg, Ag, As, and radionuclides. Discussed is also the problem of erroneous data on mineral compounds determined in mushrooms.  相似文献

Ten Solanum potato genotypes, including four primitive species and six hybrids, were grown to maturity near 230 and 3273 meters in elevation at two sites, Coast and Sierra, in Peru. Growth data, with emphasis upon tubers and leaves, were collected periodically to analyze the plant components which differed in these contrasting environments. Nine of the Solanum species/cultivars effectively partitioned dry matter into tubers with values reaching 73 to 85% of the total plant at mature harvest in the Sierra but dropping to 33 to 75% on the Coast. These harvest index differences were, however, accompanied by no consistent changes in total leaf area, specific leaf area, nor number of tuber initiated. Consistent differences did occur in having shorter plants in the Sierra and an increased tuber dry matter percentage, 20 to 28%, in the Sierra compared to 14 to 21% on the Coast. Linear relationships exist between plant tuber harvest index versus tuber yield and versus total plant dry matter on both the Coast and in the Sierra.  相似文献

This work describes the ultrastructural characters ofPsilocybe quebecensis Ola'h &Heim, an hallucinogenic species, the so far known most northernGeophila exhibiting psychodysleptic action.Samplings have been selected on three different parts of the carpophore. Tissues obtained from the gills, central part of the stipe and hyphae below the fruit body of freshly collected carpophores.An accumulation of reserve polysaccharides has been localized in the hyphas of the sub-hymenium and in the mycelium around the stem. We give evidence that two types of pore septum characterise this species. The succession of the sporal tegument of dormant basidiospores and other ultrastructural characters are considered.
Résumé Le présent travail précise les caractères ultrastructuraux dePsilocybe quebecensis Ola'h &Heim.A cette fin, les prélèvements ont été faits sur des carpophores sauvages fraîchement récoltés. Trois zones de prélèvement ont été désignées sur le carpophore: lame, partie centrale du pied et hyphe aérien coiffant la base du pied. Ce champignon est une espèce hallucinogène, la plus septentrionale desGeophila Quél., la sectionCaerulescentes Sing., posédant une action psychodysleptique évidente. Nous mettons en évidence la localisation des substances de réserve polysaccharidiques dans les hyphes sous-hyméniales et dans le mycélium entourant le pied, ainsi que les deux types depore septum, la succession du tégument sporal ofdormant basidiospore et autres caractères ultrastructuraux.

Unlike most bioluminescent fungi, mycelia of Armillaria and Desarmillaria are constitutively bioluminescent while mature mushrooms are not. The absence of the luciferin, 3-hydroxyhispidin, and its precursor hispidin in mature mushrooms have been proposed to explain the lack of bioluminescence from Armillaria mushrooms. Using three North American species, A. gallica, A. mellea and D. tabescens (syn., Armillaria tabescens), we documented a decline in luminescence of ten fold during the transition from mycelia to, immature mushrooms (i.e., pins) for the two Armillaria species. As pins matured, luminescence declined by an additional two or three orders of magnitude. Lower initial luminescence of D. tabescens mycelia declined to negligible levels during mushroom development. Further, light production was localized in the gills and lower stipe of A. mellea mushrooms. The decline in luminescence during mushroom formation was reversed by addition of hispidin to stipe or gills which significantly enhanced luminescence by one and three orders of magnitude, respectively. We conclude that the modulation of Armillaria and Desarmillaria luminescence is achieved by luciferin availability early in mushroom development. However, since the temporal regulation of bioluminescence differs between Armillaria species and other genera, we conclude that bioluminescence in Armillaria is under unique selective pressures.  相似文献
