A special problem in behavioral sciences are time series where the data points of one series are dependent on the just prior values of the other series. The data structure may additionally exhibit an interdependence between the variables that changes over time. Pfanzagl's T provides a robust test of trend independence between such data sets. At the same time the applicability of Pearson's r can be extended by using the statistical considerations for T. For this purpose, the time series are transformed into binary series, consisting either of the values 1 or 0. These series may show distinct trend patterns of consecutive data points with the value 1 or with the value 0. Data points belonging to the same trend pattern are regarded as cohering values for any further mathematical operation applied. Based on the trend identifcation the T-value is derived, providing information on the coherent development of trend patterns in the two series. Additionally Pearson's r together with a modified sampling theory offers a standard measure of linear association between the time series. The procedures are described and a computer program is provided, combining Pfanzagl's T and Pearson's r with a bootstrap procedure for the statistical evaluation of the correlation coefficients.  相似文献

对4月份至11月份金叶银杏‘万年金'( Ginkgo biloba ‘Wannianjin')32个半同胞子代无性系与亲本的叶色差异进行比较;比较了不同色系叶片的色素含量和比值及叶色参数(L*、a*和b*)的变化,分析了叶色参数与叶片色素含量的相关性;并观察了不同色系的叶绿体超微结构。结果表明:32个半同胞子代无性系可被分为金黄、浅黄、草绿和蓝绿4个色系。随时间推移,草绿和蓝绿色系叶片的总叶绿素( Chl)、叶绿素a( Chla)、叶绿素b( Chlb)和类胡萝卜素( Car)含量均呈“双峰型”变化趋势,Car/Chl和Car/Chla比值的变幅均较小;而金黄和浅黄色系叶片的上述色素含量呈“升高—降低—升高”变化趋势,Car/Chl和Car/Chla比值总体呈“迅速下降—相对稳定—缓慢升高”的变化趋势。各色系叶片的上述色素含量在夏季均不同程度下降,Car/Chlb比值变化差异较大,且金黄和浅黄色系的各色素含量均低于草绿和蓝绿色系。随时间推移,金黄和浅黄色系叶片的L*、a*和b*值以及草绿和蓝绿色系叶片的L*和b*值均先降低后升高,后2个色系的a*值则先升高后下降;并且,前2个色系的L*和b*值总体上显著高于后2个色系,而a*值则总体上低于后2个色系。金黄色系的Chla和Chl含量与L*和a*值显著负相关,而其Car/Chl和Car/Chla比值则与L*、a*和b*值显著或极显著正相关;浅黄色系的Chlb含量与a*值显著负相关,其Car/Chla比值与L*和b*值以及Car/Chlb比值与a*值均显著正相关;草绿色系的Chla含量与L*值显著负相关,其Car/Chla比值与L*和b*值以及Car/Chlb比值与a*值均显著正相关;这3个色系叶片的其余指标间以及蓝绿色系叶片的各指标间均无显著相关性。观察结果显示:金黄和浅黄色系的叶绿体基粒片层发育不健全,基粒片层可见但排列较疏松,且无明显垛叠,分布范围小而稀疏;蓝绿和草绿色系叶绿体的基粒类囊体垛叠层数均较多,基粒片层发达且排列紧致、整齐,分布范围大而稠密。综合分析结果表明:‘万年金'4个色系半同胞子代无性系叶片的呈色差异和叶色变化由多种因素控制,其中,Car/Chl和Car/Chla比值高且叶绿体基粒片层发育不健全是叶片呈黄色的主要原因。  相似文献

We compared three methods: arteriovenous anastomosis, doxorubicin administration, and combination of anastomosis and doxorubicin, with the intention of designing a simple, stable model of chronic heart failure. Twelve dogs were divided into three groups of four. One group received carotid-jugular anastomosis (Ana series), another group received anastomosis and doxorubicin injection (A/D series), and the last group received only doxorubicin (Dox series). Animals were followed for eight weeks. Fifteen different haemodynamic parameters were tracked and compared to baseline values. After eight weeks, diastolic pressure in the right atrium increased from 3.8+/-2.0 mmHg at baseline to 5.3+/-5.9 mmHg in the Ana series, to 6.3+/-3.3 mmHg in the Dox series and to 8.0+/-2.0 mmHg in the A/D series (P<0.05 A/D vs. baseline). Systolic pulmonary wedge pressure increased from 11.6+/-2.0 mmHg at baseline to 15.5+/-3.4 mmHg in the Ana series, 14.0+/-3.7 mmHg in the Dox series and 17.3+/-4.2 mmHg in the A/D series (P = NS vs. baseline). Left ventricular ejection fraction decreased from 53.9+/-10% at baseline to 36.1+/-5.6% in the Ana series (P<0.05 vs. baseline), 31.5+/-5.4% in the Dox series (P<0.05 vs. baseline) and 25.8+/-5.8% in the A/D series (P<0.001 vs. baseline, P<0.05 vs. Ana series and Dox series). In conclusion, eight weeks are not enough to produce stable heart failure using arteriovenous anastomosis alone. Doxorubicin administration alone produces a left ventricular failure. However, a combination of both of these interventions provides a more stable model of right-and left-sided heart failure.  相似文献

Genetic composition of the recombinant congenic strains   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
For the study of biological phenomena influenced by multiple genes in mice, the Recombinant Congenic Strains (RCS) have been developed. An RCS series comprises approximately 20 homozygous strains, each of which contains on average 87.5% genes of a common background strain and 12.5% of a common donor strain. In an RCS series, non-linked genes involved in the control of a multigenic trait become distributed into different recombinant congenic strains. In this way a multigenic trait is transformed into a series of single gene traits in which each gene can be studied individually. For the ability to use the strength of the recombinant congenic strains system to its full extent, a thorough genetic characterization is indispensable. We have typed the CcS/Dem and OcB/Dem series for 611 and 550 markers, respectively. This results in a genetic characterization sufficient to detect most donor strain genes. In addition, we report the genetic characterization of the HcB/Dem and HcB(N4)/Dem series. Strains of the latter series contain on average 6.25% of the donor strain genome. Both series have been typed for 130 markers. All the typing data have been deposited in the Mouse Genome Database at The Jackson Laboratory. Behavioral studies of an XY gonadal dysgenetic chacma baboon prior to and during testosterone propionate treatment were carried out. The orchidectomized dysgenetic individual, two intact males, a castrate male, and two ovariectomized females were pair-tested with a group of eight ovariectomized stimulus females prior to and during their treatment with estradiol benzoate. Three test series were carried out. One series occurred prior to any treatment of the agonadal focal subject animals. During this series it was only the intact males who showed behavior change during their testing with the estrogen treated females. A second test series occurred after a month of daily testosterone propionate injections (1 mg/kg/day) had been given to the four agonadal subjects. During this test series the castrate male ejaculated once with one of the estrogen-treated females. All of the treated subjects showed increases in their frequency of yawning. Upon completion of this test series the androgen dosage was increased (2 mg/kg/day) and 2 weeks later a third test series was carried out. During this series the castrate male ejaculated with five of his eight estrogen-treated partners. The yawning of all the treated subjects continued. As had been the case in the second series the XY gonadal dysgenetic individual continued to behave as did the ovariectomized females. None of these animals showed any increase in any measure of male sexual behavior. This study establishes the fact that a genetic male primate deprived of in utero exposure to testicular hormones will go on to develop as a normal genetic female and will fail to exhibit increased levels of male sexual behavior during androgen treatment.  相似文献

The present study was designed to find out whether brain nitric oxide (NO) influences hemodynamic response to intracerebroventricular (ICV) infusion of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1beta). Mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) were recorded in seven series of experiments performed on conscious Sprague-Dawley rats receiving during 60 min ICV infusion of: 0.9% NaCl (5 microl/h; series 1), IL-1beta (100 ng/h; series 2), NO synthase inhibitor (L-NAME, 1mg/h; series 3), IL-1beta together with L-NAME (series 4), IL-1beta together with inactive isomer of NO synthase inhibitor (D-NAME, 1mg/h; series 5), NO donor (SNAP, 40 microg/h; series 6) and IL-1beta together with SNAP (series 7). ICV infusion of saline did not influence MAP while administration of IL-1beta as well as IL-1beta together with D-NAME elicited a significant, though transient, increase in MAP. In series 4, combined infusion of IL-1beta and L-NAME exerted an increase in MAP, which persisted until the end of the experiment and was significantly higher than in series 2 and 5. In series 7, infusion of SNAP together with IL-1beta abolished the pressor effect of IL-1beta. HR was not significantly altered in any of the experimental series. These results demonstrate that inhibition of NO synthesis in the brain enhances and prolongs the pressor response to IL-1beta, whereas concomitant administration of NO donor abolishes the hemodynamic effect of IL-1beta. Therefore, we conclude that NO generated in the brain is involved in buffering the pressor response to IL-1beta.  相似文献

Intranasal midazolam was studied in two series of piglets: series 1, n = 20 (18 +/- 3 kg), a randomized double blind pharmacodynamic study to compare doses of 0.2 mg/kg and 0.4 mg/kg; series 2, n = 9 (42 +/- 8 kg), a pharmacokinetic study with a 0.4 mg/kg dose administered either intravenously (i.v.) or intranasally (i.n.) in a cross-over protocol with a one-week wash-out period between each. In series 1, midazolam caused significant anxiolysis and sedation within 3 to 4 min, without a significant difference between 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg doses for any of the studied parameters. In series 2, after intranasal midazolam administration of 0.4 mg/kg, plasma concentrations attained a maximum (Cmax) of 0.13 +/- 0.04 mg/l at 5 min (median Tmax) and remained higher than 0.04 mg/l until 60 min. The bioavailability factor (F) in this study was F = 0.64 +/- 0.17 by the intranasal route. The terminal half-life (T1/2 lambda z) = 145 +/- 138 min was comparable with the i.v. administration half-life (158 +/- 127 min). In conclusion, optimal intranasal midazolam dose in piglets was 0.2 mg/kg, which procures rapid and reliable sedation, adapted to laboratory piglets.  相似文献

A new series of analogs of triglycerides has been synthesized, in which the glycerol moiety is replaced by each of the three isomeric cyclopentanetriols. For each of the isomeric cyclopentane-1,2,3-triols (1,2,3/0; DL-1,2/3; and 1,3/2), the tris-homoacyl derivatives of octanoic, decanoic, lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, and dihydrosterculic acids were prepared by treatment of the respective triols with the appropriate acyl chloride in pyridine. The dihydrosterculates were prepared by fusing the triols with a mixture of the acyl anhydride and the corresponding potassium salt. It is proposed that because of restricted rotation of the carbon-carbon bonds the cyclopentanoid compounds are analogs of specific rotamers of triglycerides. Infrared spectra (KBr discs) obtained at room temperature show differences in crystal structure from series to series. A band near 720 cm-minus 1 (CH2 rock) is doubled in the 1,2,3/0 and 1,2/3 series and is single in the 1,3/2 series and the triglycerides. In each spectrum with a doublet at 720 cm-minus 1, a band near 1470 cm-minus 1 (CH2 bend) is doubled also. A strong band at 890 cm-minus 1 present in the triglyceride spectra is weak or missing from the spectra of the analogs. A band at 1418 cm-minus 1 (bending of CH2 adjacent to C equal to 0) present in the triglyceride spectra is demonstrable only in the 1,2,3/0 derivatives in comparison with the other three series. In all series the dihydrosterculates show a decrease in apparent polarity, relative to the stearates, significantly greater than expected from the introduction of an additional carbon atom. The potential utility of the analogs as probes of the effects of conformation on the physical properties and enzymatic susceptibility of glycerides is discussed.  相似文献

A series of N-acyl-4-(5,6-dihydro-11H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridin-11-ylidene)piperazines is described that are dual antagonists of PAF and histamine. The structural requirements for activity in this series parallel those of their previously reported piperidinylidene counterparts. Whereas their global minimum energy conformations are different for both series of compounds, computer assisted molecular modeling suggests that a common bioactive conformation is possible.  相似文献

Long time series of Schaffer collateral to CA1 pyramidal cell presynaptic volleys (stratum radiatum) and population spikes (stratum pyramidale) were evoked (driven) in rat hippocampal slices. From the driven CA1 region in normal [K+] perfusate, both population spike amplitude and an input-output function consisting of population spike amplitude divided by the presynaptic volley amplitude were analyzed. Raising [K+] in the perfusion medium to 8.5 mM, slices were induced to spontaneously burst fire in CA3 and long time series of inter-burst intervals were recorded. Three tests for determinism were applied to these series: a discrete adaptation of a local flow approach, a local dispersion approach, and nonlinear prediction. Surrogate data were generated to serve as mathematical and statistical controls. All of the population spike (6/6) and input-output (6/6) time series from the normal [K+] driven circuitry were stochastic by all three methods. Although most of the time series (5/6) from the autonomously bursting high [K+] state failed to demonstrate evidence of determinism, one (1/6) of these time series did demonstrate significant determinism. This single instance of predictability could not be accounted for by the linear correlation in these data.  相似文献

Much of the current interest in pollen time series analysis is motivated by the possibility that pollen series arise from low-dimensional chaotic systems. If this is the case, short-range prediction using nonlinear modeling is justified and would produce high-quality forecasts that could be useful in providing pollen alerts to allergy sufferers. To date, contradictory reports about the characterization of the dynamics of pollen series can be found in the literature. Pollen series have been alternatively described as featuring and not featuring deterministic chaotic behavior. We showed that the choice of test for detection of deterministic chaos in pollen series is difficult because pollen series exhibit power spectra. This is a characteristic that is also produced by colored noise series, which mimic deterministic chaos in most tests. We proposed to apply the Ikeguchi–Aihara test to properly detect the presence of deterministic chaos in pollen series. We examined the dynamics of cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) hourly pollen series by means of the Ikeguchi–Aihara test and concluded that these pollen series cannot be described as low-dimensional deterministic chaos. Therefore, the application of low-dimensional chaotic deterministic models to the prediction of short-range pollen concentration will not result in high-accuracy pollen forecasts even though these models may provide useful forecasts for certain applications. We believe that our conclusion can be generalized to pollen series from other wind-pollinated plant species, as wind speed, the forcing parameter of the pollen emission and transport, is best described as a nondeterministic series that originates in the high dimensionality of the atmosphere.  相似文献

Two series of chitosan derivatives, N-aliphatic acyl chitosans (Cn-CS) and N-aliphatic-O-dicinnamoyl-chitosans (Cn-CinCS) with n=2, 4, 8, 12 and 18, were prepared through regioselective reactions. The solid state structures were studied by FTIR and X-ray diffraction techniques. Two different types of layered structures were found to exist in the powder samples of Cn-CS and Cn-CinCS. The Cn-CS series crystallized into a sheet-type structure, in which all the flexible side chains lied down in the sheet in a direction normal to the backbones and partially interdigitated with each other. For the Cn-CinCS series, the polar backbones were stacked into sheets, and the flexible side chains occupied the space between sheets in a direction inclined to the backbones. The relationship between the structures and the solubilities are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

A computer program has been developed for the automated interpretation of mass spectra of TMS derivatives of nucleosides found in human urine. The m/z values in the unknown spectrum are compared to m/z values of 3 different ion series commonly observed in the mass spectra of nucleoside TMS derivatives.1 If a correlation exists, the unknown spectra are marked with color according to the scheme: 1) blue—molecular ion series, 2) red—base ion series and 3) yellow—sugar ion series. The program suggests a structural assignment for each of the marked ions and calculates a series related ion current. The calculated ion current is used to assign the of sugar contained in the unknown nucleoside.  相似文献

Ray flower and leaf flavonoids were investigated for the three species of Helianthus series Microcephali. Ray flowers of all species contain coreopsin, sulphurein, and quercetin 7-O-glucoside; those of H. microcephalus also contain quercetin 3-O-glucoside. A mixture of flavonoid aglycones, mostly methoxylated flavones, occurs in leaves of H. microcephalus, but not in H. glaucophyllus or H. laevigatus which also lack the glandular trichomes that in Helianthus are typically associated with flavonoid aglycones. The presence of compounds with the 6,8,4′ pattern of methoxylation in H. microcephalus suggests that the series is more similar in flavonoids to series Angustifolii than to series Corona-solis.  相似文献

Distribution of external flavonoid aglycones supports other data to suggest that Viguiera series Viguiera (series Dentatae Blake) is a mixed taxonomic grouping. Two species, V. dentata and V. potosina, lack external flavonoid aglycones, whereas the remaining species of the series all produce external flavonoid aglycones and appear to form a natural taxonomic group. The latter group, which consists of species from Baja California and nearby xeric areas, exhibits a diversity of flavonoid types, with different diploid species variously producing flavonols, simple flavones, 6-methoxyflavones, 6-hydroxy,7-methoxyflavones and a chalkone as major compounds. Polyploid species exhibit combinations of flavonoid types from possible diploid ancestors. Compounds of the 6-hydroxy,7-methoxyflavone type appear to characterize the group of species from Baja California and nearby areas within Viguiera.  相似文献

Based on the earlier results of our in-house database and compound library, a series of novel clubbed thienyl triazoles was designed which may emerge as potential cdk5/p25 inhibitors, for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. A benign synthesis was planned so as to take an advantage of MAOS (Microwave Assisted Organic Synthesis) method. Evaluation of the SAR of this series has allowed the identification of compounds 4, 5, 7 and 8 from series I while 13, 14, 16 and 17 from series II as significant cdk5/p25 inhibitors and thus have potential as possible treatments for Alzheimer's disease.  相似文献

A combination of structure-based design and both solution, and solid-phase synthesis were utilized to derive a potent (nM) series of HIV-1 protease inhibitors bearing a structurally novel backbone. Detailed structural analysis of several inhibitors prepared in this series has suggested that rigidification of the P1/P2 region of this class of molecules may result in compounds with improved potency.  相似文献

A series of benzyl esters of meperidine and normeperidine were synthesized and evaluated for binding affinity at serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine transporters. The 4-methoxybenzyl ester 8b and 4-nitrobenzyl ester 8c in the meperidine series and 4-methoxybenzyl ester 14a in the normeperidine series exhibited low nanomolar binding affinities at the SERT (K(i) values <2nM) and high SERT selectivity (DAT/SERT >1500 and NET/SERT >1500).  相似文献

Abstract. Long-term after effects on species number and productivity in calcareous grassland were analyzed after cessation of fertilization. Three series of permanent plots were monitored yearly from 1971 to 1993. These series differed in duration of fertilization and in fertilizer composition, notably the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus. Yearly above-ground production decreased in all series after fertilization had been stopped, however at different speeds. The grass/forb ratio also decreased, while species number and Shannon index of diversity (H') increased. In the series where fertilizer treatment was stopped in 1967 (1968-series), productivity and grass/forb ratio decreased equally as in the plots where fertilization with a high nitrogen content was stopped in 1979 (80/Npk-series). However, species number in the plots of the 80/Npk-series increased faster than in the 1968-series. This was probably the result of a higher number of species present in the seed rain from the surrounding vegetation in the period after 1980 than from after 1968. In the plots receiving a high amount of phosphorus (80/nPk series), the productivity decreased more slowly than in the high nitrogen plots (80/Npk-series). At approximately the same total production level, the grass/forb ratio remained higher for another five-year period in the 80/nPk-series. Species number and the Shannon index of diversity increased more slowly in the 80/nPk-series than in the 80/Npk-series. Over a given range of productivity, changes in species number and Shannon index correlated better with the grass/forb ratio than with total above-ground phytomass. Therefore, restoration of species-rich grassland should not only be focused on lowering the yearly production, but also on reducing the grass component of the vegetation.  相似文献
