Summary. The objective of this paper is to review the relationship between induction of microspore embryogenesis and chromosome doubling.
It has been augmented with relative data on chromosome doubling by nuclear fusion. Some of the treatments used for induction
of embryogenesis may also lead to doubling of the chromosome number, either through nuclear fusion or endomitosis. High frequencies
of spontaneous chromosome doubling in cereal species appear to be induced by treatments that block cell wall formation during
the first cell divisions, resulting in coenocytic cells in which the nuclei are able to fuse. The use of mannitol as a pretreatment
for induction of embryogenesis in barley, wheat, and maize microspore cultures provides examples of nuclear fusion. The use
of antimicrotubule agents for embryo induction via treatments during the first few hours of microspore culture has also resulted
in high frequencies of chromosome doubling. Factors such as the doubling agent concentration, temperature during treatment,
and duration of treatment may be critical for individual species. Actin filament as well as microtubule assembly studies related
to new cell wall formation provide further evidence at the molecular level for the relationship between microspore embryogenesis
and chromosome doubling.

近年来肿瘤相关微生物的研究已成为热点,主要涉及细菌、免疫细胞和肿瘤细胞之间的相互作用、细菌致癌途径及其在肿瘤诊断及治疗意义等方面。随着微生物检测手段的飞速发展,人们发现,肺部具有独特的微生态,越来越多的研究在求证肺部微生态与呼吸系统疾病之间的联系。肺癌目前仍然是威胁人类健康的最常见、预后极差的恶性肿瘤。寻求早期筛查、干预、诊治手段是目前攻克肺癌的重点和难点。肺癌患者的肺微生态有其特征性改变,微生物可能通过产生细菌毒素和其他炎性因子而影响肺癌的发生及发展。本文对肺微生态与肺癌相关性进行了综述,并对今后的研究提出了展望。 相似文献

The origins and biologic significance of platelet heterogeneity in general, and platelet volume heterogeneity in particular, have been controversial scientific issues during the past decade. Although it has generally been held that specific megakaryocyte properties, especially ploidy level, are important determinants of platelet volume, the precise relationship between megakaryocyte properties and platelet properties is not well defined. The physiologic processes that specifically determine the relationship between megakaryocyte ploidy and platelet volume are unclear, and understanding of these processes has been further complicated due to the multiplicity of experimental and clinical models used to study the problem. Although it is generally true that increases in megakaryocyte ploidy are associated with increases in megakaryocyte volume, it is not well established that platelet volume is also increased during normal or abnormal thrombopoiesis as a direct result of a change in the ploidy level. Reexamination of earlier studies and some recent investigations suggest that changes in platelet volume and megakaryocyte ploidy are in fact dissociated in response to experimental thrombocytopenia. Critical review of the literature concerning the relationship between megakaryocyte ploidy and platelet volume reveals a limited number of conclusions that are well substantiated and emphasizes the relative lack of understanding about the events governing the complex process of platelet production and platelet heterogeneity. 相似文献

Abstract Staphylococcus aureus was grown exponentially at two doubling times (DT), one related to in vivo (DT 60 min) and one typical of laboratory conditions (DT 24 min), and under iron-poor and iron-rich conditions. Relative to the fast-grown phenotypes, both slow-grown phenotypes exhibited low surface hydrophobicity and low protein A expression, induced poorly in non-opsonised and opsonised chemiluminescence, and survived well in whole blood killing. In particular, slow-grown, iron-poor cocci demonstrated enhanced survival in whole blood killing which correlated with a significant reduction in their association with polymorphonuclear leukocytes, compared to the three other phenotypes; iron sufficiency increased the ability to stimulate polymorphonuclear leukocytes irrespective of opsonisation status. Staphylococcal DT may, by influencing surface hydrophobicity, modify interactions with immune system components. 相似文献

Many cell kinetic studies are based on the assumption that tritiated thymidine injected into an animal is available for incorporation into DNA for only a short time, and that it labels all cells in the S phase. The present study indicates that this is not the fact for the rat corneal epithelium. The labelling index (LI) declines considerably from the limbal area to the central cornea, while the mitotic rate is almost constant all over the corneal epithelium. The LI should therefore not be used as the only criterion in the assessment of proliferation rate. 相似文献

In lamellar bodies isolated from adult human lung at least two acid alpha-glucosidases are present: one similar to the lung lysosomal alpha-glucosidase, and another lamellar body-specific isoenzyme. In the present study we measured the activity of this lamellar body-specific alpha-glucosidase and of lysosomal alpha-glucosidase in a patient with an inherited deficiency of lysosomal alpha-glucosidase. The activity of the lamellar body-specific alpha-glucosidase was not affected in the patient, whereas the lysosomal alpha-glucosidase activity was strongly depressed. The results strongly suggest that the lysosomal alpha-glucosidase and the lamellar body-specific alpha-glucosidase are different gene products. 相似文献

An accurate understanding of the relationship between pulmonary pressure and volume is required for modeling pulmonary mechanics in a variety of clinical applications. In this study the experimental techniques and mathematical formulations used to characterize viscoelastic materials are applied to characterize transient pulmonary compliance in juvenile swine. Fixed volumes of air were insufflated into 5 swine and held constant for 45 s while the transient decay in tracheal pressure was measured. An analytical model was developed using an optimization scheme that maximized the model fit to the experimental data over the entire time convolution. The initial injected volume was varied to assess the spatial and temporal linearity of the behavior. Model performance was assessed by comparing measured and predicted pressure during insufflations of erratic volume waveforms. It is concluded that the pulmonary impedance of healthy juveniles can be adequately described over a wide volume and frequency range using a relatively simple 5-parameter model that is linear both spatially and temporally. 相似文献

The tumor promoter TPA (12-0-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate) efficiently induces the synthesis of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antigens in EBV-genome-harboring human lymphoblastoid cells. We attempted to obtain information on the binding of TPA to cells and on the relationship between TPA-binding and EBV induction by the use of tritiated TPA (3H-TPA). Our data show: (1) In the absence of cells TPA can bind to serum completely within 60 minutes. (2) Cells can compete for a proportion of serum-bound TPA. (3) Binding of TPA to cells reaches equilibrium within 60 minutes and is higher at 37° than 0°C. In the absence of serum, the rate of binding is about twice as high as in the presence of serum. (4) Dissociation of TPA from cells also seems to be rapid. When the cells are incubated with cold TPA after prior treatment with 3H-TPA, followed by washing, a much higher rate of release of labeled TPA is observed than in cultures to which fresh medium is added exclusively. Dissociation is higher in the presence of serum than in the absence of it. If radiolabeled cells are analyzed after serial washing, the rate of cell-associated/noncell-associated radioactivity indicates that the proportion of molecules required for EBV induction is dissociated rapidly. 相似文献

The lymphatic vessels and perineural spaces of superficial and profound nerves of the extremity were studied on the material of 50 lower extremities of corpses of humans by the method of intratissue and direct injection. Initial lymphatic capillaries and extraorganic lymphatic vessels and their paravasal plexuses were found. It is concluded that closed lymphatic capillaries having no immediate connection with the perineural space are the roots of the lymphatic bed in the nerve. 相似文献

Cross-reactivity of monospecific antisera to human immunoglobulins with animal sera of 10 species was studied by immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion. Antisera to IgG were shown to reveal IgG of all the species studied, antisera to IgM and especially to IgA cross reacted less extensively. The greatest number of cross reactions were given by the antisera obtained as a result of hyperimmunization. Hyperimmune monospecific antisera to human IgG, IgA, and IgM can be used for the identification of animal immunoglobulins during their isolation from the sera and for their quantitation by radial immunodiffusion. 相似文献
